"a video game?..." Emily said giving him a very confused look. "oh..okay I think I kinda understand..." she said after he explained it a little. "that just sounds amazing....being able to control the story you are watching....wow..." she said genuinely amazed.
"Sometime you really should take a trek into the non magic world with me." He said.
"you know I would really love to do that...the muggle world seems like such a fascinating place...but you know I could never go..." she said her tone of voice lowering to a sad one.
"Why not? You're dad can't control your life as much as he wants to. We promised eachother that we'd fight so you could live life on your terms remember?" He said.
(I just thought....could her father use the Imperius Curse on her to control her into marrying so dude to make his fortune larger......also just saying that is such a horrible curse to place on someone..guess that's why is a part of the three unforgivable curses...also this is just some thought that popped in my head)
(He could try. But the imperious curse is tricky. The longer it's placed on someone the more likely they are to regain control)
(I guess that is very true....did not remember they gained control after a time. And just dought Earl would let this happen...smart cookie would see right through this XD....but *shrug* just a random thought that popped up in my head)
He nodded with a smile.
She went back to the costume she was working on. The thoughts of what Earl had told her circled in her head she was still weary of her father expeahally after what he did to Earl. But then Earl was right she should be the one in charge of her life and deside what to do with it, she really would love to go and explore the world of the muggles with Earl and she felt determined to do it one of these days.
As they built costumes a letter arrived her. It was rare for them to get mail outside of mealtimes
"Oh Archie....a letter?...oh that's weird..." she said petting her owl as he handed her the letter. "Thank you Archie" she said taking the letter and looked it over. It looked like a plane envelope nothing writin on it. With a shrug she turned it over and opened it.
It was a threat from her father. That she had better not come home if she was serious about fighting him. Otherwise she would never see the light of day again.
Emily become quite as she just read the letter over and over again. It was a shock, her father was threating her life if she did not follow his orders and fought against his demands. But she didn’t want to go back following his ever word, she had seen how miserable she had been doing so.
He read it over her shoulder. "Guess you're not going home this summer." He said.
Emily jumped as Earl was behind her reading over her shoulder. She lowered the letter and sighed "you know it's quite rude to read over someone's shoulder..." she said turning to him. "I could go home...but that means going back to how things were with my father and maybe not seeing you or the others ever again........so I guess not going home winter brake or summer...." she said sounding a bit sad
He put an arm around her. "Hey. I'm your best friend. I'm not going to let you just scrounge around the streets." He said. "It's not much of an offer but you could stay at the orphanage with me. The woman who runs the places knows about us. And she'll be understanding of your situation."
She frown crossing her arms and looking away as he placed his arm around her. Huff.. scrounge in the streets? what dose he think I am some dirty rat? I was not going to do such a thing. Emily's frown soften as he offered her to join him at the orphanage. Her living in an orphanage? (XD I don't know why but I just imagining her thinking like the worse of everything
the horrors of living in such a place). "But I'm not an orphan....I...I don't belong in such a place..." she said
"Well I suppose you could also stay with Josh or Alyssa." He said. "It's up to you. But I think having you around would be great. (I think this is all just a shocker to her, she thought her father was only strick because he loved her and only had the best intentions for her and then she started to finally see who he really was and now treating to kill her if she returns and disobeys and the sad part is she now believes and has a feeling he would do such a thing to her. Also the fear I had her have of her father I would say he would pysically hurt her but she just blocks it out and that's why she is good with healing spells)
Emily was quite thinking it over "...are you sure the orphanage caretaker would be alright with me staying?...." she replied, she adored her other friends but she preferred to stay with Earl
"Absolutely. She's strict but she's very kind." He said
"She dosent sound too bad.." Emily said being able deal with someone being strict.
"Alright we better wrap up for the night." He said.
"Oh right......" she said walking back to the costume she had just finished and cleaned up her area.
"Lets head to the great hall. There might still be some food left." He said.
"Sure" she said following him to the great hall. She really wasn't hungry as she had a lot on her mind but she followed him anyway.
