Yeah, that seems like a good idea. Circle the bastard carefully, axe in hand, ready to dart if need be, but make *it* come to *us*. Control the battlefield and all that jazz.

What if we took the bow out? If it charges we can roll out of the way and shoot at the same time. Doesn't seem like we'd be able to do much except clip it when we're dodging with a melee weapon. Unless the axe is more of a throwing tomahawk, or if we're good enough to throw the shiv. Whatcha think?

Exactly what I was thinking. More specifically the eyes like we tried before.

The creature lumbers forward, blood spraying from the cut jaw as it lows. It's a slower, sadder thing now, but you know one good hit from those fists is not something you want.

It staggers into range and winds up a punch....

Before it can launch it's swing we take the bow out and rapidly fire arrows towards his eyes. (Can't remember how many dice for firing arrows)

Nah, if he's lumbering for us, I think we should keep to the hack n' slash, keeping the bow for when we can reliably keep our distance. Right now, he's in face pummelling distance, so I'm thinking a good old repeat of our standard "roll under the arm, jam the axe somewhere tender".

You nimbly roll past and under the beast, axe cutting the throat as you go. It quickly curls in on itself to try and catch you - and succeeds only in tipping out the last of the foetid water in its head.

With a mournful cry, the great beast collapses in a shriveled heap.

The doors of the courtyard, the doors to your freedom, unlock with a blare of siren and ephemeral voice - 'Contamination clear. Lockdown lifted.'

You have gained 5 Rads!

I say we check if it's got anything we can use. Also, with that thick skin, I wonder if we could turn it into leather...

If there's nothing, or in the likely chance that leather ain't possible, away to freedom!

Yay freedom! Check the guy, check the area, and hope to hell we find an oasis so we can cash in some rad.

The corpse had tough skin, but now it is flaking and dry until bones are exposed. You could crack one of those exposed ribs off, you think, that could be fashioned into a weapon.

Beyond the doors a precipice of bare rock stretches over a deep chasm; falling away to shifting sands.

It seems there is nothing between you and the very tip of the promontory.

Not sure we need any more weapons unless the stats are better or the materials can improve our weapons. I feel like we've got everything a hunter would need, even though the shield feels kinda unnecessary. What ya think Silver?

Useful as in something we may destroy or discard later on. Also, the axe seems like a good weapon for the moment, but I'm not sure how something prickly will work against hard armor or machina styled enemies.

I forgot it was just a glorified cactus with a handle. What if we took some ribs from the big guy and mad a new one. Obviously we'd need to only use the smallest ones and cut those down a little too, but could still be pretty badass.

A new axe?

A beatstick is probably fine for now. We likely don't have the tools to make it into an axe at the moment. But I agree with taking a couple of bones with us, 'cause fuck, -OH SHIT, WE SHOULD TOTALLY WEAR THE SKULL AS ARMOR. And possibly whatever other bones we can manage.

Righto, take the rib/beatstick, wear the skull as armor, see if we can use the spinal fragments as armguards and greaves, and maybe use smaller bones as other armor. I mean, we are a Hunter after all, using the remnants of fallen enemies as useful stuff should be within our skillset.

I can imagine this being the theme during some of the more frantic battle scenes.
