The closest anyone can drop to New Mombasa is on Old Mombasa, which consists of two larger land masses that closely border the much smaller island of New Mombasa on either side. One half of Old Mombasa is attached to the Elevator (I forgot the full name), but not to the island of New Mombasa. The other half is attached to New Mombasa by a large and long highway that stretches over the canal between the island and larger land masses. So, you can either drop in the residential half of New Mombasa (like most of the rest of us) or the half of Old Mombasa that is attached to New Mombasa by the highway. You're choice, and either is fine.
