Move over Supernatural. It looks like another show is going to beat the record for character kills.
And feels kills. Don't forget feels kills. I think season 9 and 10 just blew any previous record out of the water, since they made a whole story about absolutely loveable characters THAT WE KNEW WERE ALREADY DEAD. Fuck you, Rooster Teeth. Fuck you, ya brilliant bastards.
Have you watched the most recent episode?
No. I was planning to today, though. Did they come up with another thing to call the Purge other than the thing used on the ship? Just say yes or no for an answer, please.

FUCK. I lost Internet connection before I could finish it. I think I missed, like, the last 45 seconds, everything after Doyle told Carolina to "run that by him again." But I'm hoping I got enough.

[*HEAVY FUCKING SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE NEWEST EPISODE YET. I'M SORRY. I COULDN'T HELP IT.*]

So. It sounds like Chorus has a version of the Forerunner rings from the games built into its planet, that can be detonated at any moment and obliterate absolutely everything. Except it's a version that was probably built by a very early version of the Covenant (or even as far back as the Forerunner themselves, but I don't understand why an A.I. built by them would choose to look like a Sangheili soldier rather than a Forerunner), is only meant to kill the life on Chorus and Chorus alone rather than the life in the entire galaxy, and it was made to kill any living thing that got too strong rather than just the Flood. Interesting.

Also, everyone is fucked. FUCK.

Oh, oh! What if the fight scene between Carolina and Sharkface is because they are fighting for the new key. That seems likely now.

My answer is orange.

Damn, you guys are talking like you're sure RvB is over.

This Season is the end of the Chorus Arc, I highly HIGHLY doubt it's the end of RvB as a whole.

I'm just waiting for the part of the teaser where Church says its the story of how he died and he says, "This is, after all, the story of how I died... again!

Dude, the characters have continually gotten fucked over in these last few seasons. They pull through, but only just. And considering how much they are already in trouble in this season, it wouldn't surprise me if they all died by the end of this season. Especially now that they have The Purge, because that would fit in with the "everyone dying" part. And Church is technology, so he wouldn't get killed by the Purge anyway. Maybe a bit fried, but not necessarily killed.

We all think that way because it has been hinted multiple times throughout the season so far. And if everyone dies, then the show is for sure going to end.

Him not saying that and not being funny about it at all is what scared me the most about the teaser. Because he was dead seriously the whole time, as well as sounding sad and completely done with everything. So shit must have gotten real before he recorded that in order for him to sound that emotionally destroyed.

Well, for one. No one said anything about "everyone dying" except when they were talking about theoretical with the Purge thingy.

Church said "This is the story of how I died" but if I'm not wrong Church has "died" multiple times over in the series.

But this time, he was all serious about it. Plus, he his probably the failing AI that Sharkface mentioned.

I feel like Church is going to pull a Rose Tyler because they both have a "This is the story of how I died." moment. Rose was declared dead but lived on in a alternate universe. I'm not saying that will happen to Church but I think he's going to be declared dead but is really off some place else.

Oh I just realized I should say Rose is from Doctor Who.

Church talked about how they WERE his friends and that he MISSES THEM DEARLY. So either he was captured and was destroyed himself, and made that recording before he was destroyed, or everyone else died and he was vulnerable to be taken.

The first time Church "died," he was in the form of Alpha, and he really didn't die or get harmed at all. He was just fixated on the thought that he was a human, so having his body destroyed really did not sit well with him. Other than that, though, he was fine.

The second time he died, he truly died..in the form of Alpha. Epsilon, another version of him, was still plenty alive. So Alpha Church really only died once, and Epsilon Church has not died yet. Saying that he has died a lot is just a running joke. Also, smart A.I. (which I'm pretty sure Church in general and all his fragments are, considering how much they can do easily and how much personality they have) only have a lifespan of seven years, eight if they're lucky. So Church probably won't last a whole lot longer, and he will probably be a little wonky towards the end. I've been thinking about that a bit since the end of the last season. My fear was made worse when Sharkface called Church a "failing A.I.," then when Carolina asked Church what the hell Sharkface was talking about, Church straight up didn't reply. He probably doesn't want to talk about it, because he knows as well that he might start to deteriorate soon. That scared me. And once Epsilon Church is gone, the character of Church is gone for good. That just scares me and makes me really sad.

If anything, Church will probably be declared dead, but really he is just trapped somewhere by the enemy and being driven off his rocker. Because a deteriorating A.I. can easily go insane, as demonstrated by Cortana.

How long has the events of the series been going on for anyways?

He hasn't shown any of the stages of Rampancy yet.

I was wondering if this should be considered too.

If he is the "failing ai" it's probably more likely to be hardware failure instead of rampancy.

It's been at least seven or eight years since Epsilon was put into Wash's head and six years since Epsilon was put into actual use by Caboose. Albeit, that's by our years, but it could very well be the same for them as well. So it won't be long before he could start to go mental.

Rooster Teeth hasn't followed the Halo world very well in the past (especially with A.I, which irks the hell out of me), but they have used exact things from the books in past years. Such as the pink paint that locked up the armor from season 9, as that exact thing was used in one of the books to help train the ODST's to be better at dodging real bullets. And the book Fall of Reach specifically talks about the lifespan of smart A.I. shortly after they introduce Cortana, and what happens to them after they reach their expiration date. Considering how much they are starting to follow the Halo world more in the past few seasons, it wouldn't surprise me if they followed this as well. It would make me happy to follow the world they based it in, but it would also make me sad because that means that Church will slowly and painfully go insane.

Sorry that I'm probably not making a whole lot of sense or that my points seem empty. I'm on the road and distracted by my mom talking to me and yelling towards a lady in front of us who is driving stupidly slow. My Internet is also shit at the moment.

I'm probably just taking things too literally but the wiki describes a portion of rampancy as the ai's memory maps becoming too interconnected and Epsilon-Church does represent memory. Possible connection?

He may not be a full A.I., but he is still a part of a full, real human mind. And if a human mind can deteriorate and stop working, I would think that a portion of it could too. Not go insane, exactly, but still stop working. And even if he can't specifically go rampant, he can probably still stop working after be used for a long time. He is still probably a part of a smart A.I., anyway. And smart A.I.'s can sometimes think so much with enough of their mind that they literally kill themselves. As quoted from the Fall of Reach: "It was as if a human were to think with so much of his brain that he stopped sending impulses to his heart and lungs." Church probably can't go as bad as Cortana could, but if he is indeed a smart A.I. (I'm almost sure that he is), then he has no limit to his thinking and creativity, unlike dumb A.I.'s. And that could kill him in the end.

I hope he can't go rampant and kill himself, but with all that I've read from the books, I can't help but think about what I've learned from them.

Mysterion7514 said:
Yeah, but Epsilon is a fragment of the Alpha. Therefore, wouldn't it make sense that a partial AI couldnt go rampant.
I hope you're right. Gods, I hope you are. But, like I said, I can't help but think about the books when it comes to the A.I. and go off of info I've learned from them.

His mind could become too jam packed after a certain point and stop working after he goes insane. I mean, look what he did after he was inserted into the first available, open outlet where he could dispel all of his crammed up thoughts into (Wash's mind). He literally went insane for a moment. That could happen again if he gathers too much info for his mind to store, which could potentially destroy his mind at least for a while. And anyone who might have him in their mind at the moment could be fucked.
I think it was a typo. I think he meant "This is the story of how I became a fucking millionaire and now rule the entire fucking galaxy."

Oh my gods. Lol. That sounds like something Felix might say, too.

Have any of you ever written fanfiction?
I don't. I feel like I would royally fuck up the characters and make every one of them snarky assholes without even meaning to.

In the newest episode, did anyone else notice how when Santa was describing the purpose of the Procreation Temple, the music changed slightly? It made me think of the song Bow Chicka Wow Wow, and I found the little addition to be hilarious.
