I'm not sure if Tullus would be involved in going out and skirmishing considering he seems to be a commander of some sort, so I'm not exactly sure. I don't know if my character would be part of the selected squad either. What did you have in mind?

You're pretty much right, Tullus is a commander. And he's not gonna get involved in little skirmishes that are out of his way, though of course if there's any fighting he can do nearby that won't take him out of command too long, he will absolutely join in the fighting.

I'm thinking something to do with the village that's being defended by the NPC and Tullus' second, Arlen Brookley. The small Viking raiding party of about a dozen that I mentioned is actually scouts, and they've already scouted our forces more or less, then a few get away and report back to a larger force nearby. That larger force is there since the Viking commander of Warrick Keep noticed Tullus' approaching army, then called for reinforcements. And this reinforcing, err, force could see that they weren't going to take the castle back, so they're targeting the village instead. Then Arlen calls for reinforcements, and that is definitely something Tullus would attend, along with his best warriors (read: Ludwig) and a small force of soldiers.

Thoughts?

I'll probably just skip forward to the early evening as the patrol returns from the skirmish, then Tullus receives word of the village being attacked. Marshal troops + you, maybe post a few times as interaction while on the march to the village which is maybe an hour away or something, then we both fight at the village battle.

Maybe Lieutenant Arlen dies in the battle and you become Tullus' new second in command? Would that work, or is Ludwig not much of a commander?

This is arguably the more interesting choice for character things, since Rusty has two Wardens, which your boy Patty hates.
