I mean someone had to do that. Albeit Niko would stand up either way, its just his words and action would have changed depending on how many people stood up before him.

essentially the less people would have stood up or at least tried to in Chimeras case, Niko's approach would be drastically different than his current one. cause truth be told he allowed himself to be a bit cocky right now, since bigger amount of people is involved and it hurts his pride that Scatty is being called a teacher since he also has that job [well not anymore at least till he graduates from Flamels academy].

in essence the lesser people stood up, the more cunning, vicious and venom-spitting would Niko be with his actions and words onto Scatty and the conflict in general.
the more people Niko would go more with the cocky approach aka more of what he is doing now.

and yes i might have made Niko come out a tad bit crazy. but aren't all alchemists/chemists a tad insane by design.

Rory is tragically a loner due to his perception of himself being worth nothing to others.

Ironic how his character represents freedom of choice, ideals, and life but he is shackled to his critical perception of himself. He's not yet free until he's able to break away from it.

Most next Gen are vampires, there are only a select few who can actually perform magic and use their aura. Ember is one of these lucky few and Scatty resents her for it. (Keep in mind that they would technically be around the same age, give or take a few hundred years)
