"Neither does anyone. Neither do I." She relates to him. Nobody likes to be recorded for every little thing they do. It makes them feel like they're always being watched. "But even some of those people, I included, admit that it's a necessary evil. Imagine finding that a wanted criminal having no track records of any kind... Not even their own name." She rebutted.

I’m going to invest some trust. Part of the reason they can’t find anything on me or my past is because my home planet got sucked into a black hole singularity.

He wrote. He would not like it if that appeared on his record.

Susan rose her eye upon Lux's mention of a planet getting sucked in by a black hole-like anomaly. She knew what he meant. "The Harpocrates Incident. That developing Human colony was destroyed by an unforeseen black hole." She responded, in a voice quiet enough for him to hear. "Is that what you mean?"

Kokoro had entered the docking bay with the others - though a little later. She noticed Lux and Susan speaking, so opted not to interrupt, but instead behold the bay itself. "I agree... Look at it." Kokoro said calmly and joyfully and mustered a sigh then after. "Looks really nice, doesn't it?"

“Oh, yes. Yes, it does.” Ma’arz responds to Kokoro, just as joyful as she is.

Once they reached the middle area of the shuttle hangar, Susan pulls out the radio again. “We’re in. Close the hangar and disconnect the hallway between the flagship and the space station.” She ordered in the radio. Then, as the gate behind them closes, Susan turns to the recruits. “Anybody here hungry?” She asked. “Sure, I could use a bite to eat.” Kqidons responds while Ma’arz nods.

"Not me. Simply not 'compatible', so I guess I'll wait for everyone." Kokoro looked around for a short while and maintained her smile.

"Good. Because it's dinner hour right now." She replied to everyone's responses. She points her thumb to her left. "Follow me. I know where it is." She said as she turned to the nearest exit of the shuttle hangar.

Kokoro followed along regardless, knowing full well she had to either wait or use her time on something more productive.

Talia was skating down the halls, mostly bored but a little hungry when she skated by the captain and.... who was that? She skidded to a stop just behind the group and went backward slowly. “Well, I’ve never seen you here before.” She said to the Martian, very tall human, and... ghost? Girl? Ghost girl?

Lux heard a noise behind him, and approaching fast, and spun around quickly. He saw it was a girl with grey skin and white hair. He relaxed from a combat position he was in.

Talia saw the fighting position the human had been in and raised an eyebrow. “Chill out, I’m not gonna attack.” She said with a small smile.

Susan, Kqidons, and Ma'arz turned around to see this grey-looking alien girl behind them. "Oh, my goodness. Is that...?" He said initially, knowing exactly what species this woman is.
She skidded to a stop just behind the group, and went backwards slowly. “Well, I’ve never seen you here before.”

"Well, Miss Shore, that is because I've never informed you that I'll be getting new company." The captain responds as she approached her and gestured the recruits to the grey alien. "Everyone, this is Talia Shore. She is one of my veteran crewmen before you." She introduced her to the recruits. "And a Da'Mapello." Ma'arz finishes.

Talia bowed dramatically as the Martian finished for Susan, and looked up to nod. “In the flesh.” She said, before sticking out her hand to anyone who would shake it. “If you’ve heard my name before, then I’m doing my job wrong.” She said with a small smirk.

Ma'arz put his arm by his chest and bowed to her. "A pleasure to meet you, Talia." He greeted her kindly. Susan turns back to the Da'Mapello. "We are going to the cafeteria for food. Do you wish to join us?" She asked.

Kokoro just watched this scene unfold and couldn't help but laugh at Talia's last quip. As expected, Kokoro herself remained borderline neutral, but in tandem with Ma'arz and Lux, perhaps it's best to greet her! Ergo, Kokoro would 'attempt' to give it a try - the attempt being the key word. She would jokingly try to shake the outstretched hand belonging to Talia, but due to ghost logic, guess what? It doesn't work! Kokoro knew this - she had done it on purpose. "It's nice to meet you, too." She first said, slightly looking away but then looking back. "Though, if I'm being honest with you, I can't help but be surprised at what's before me; no offence." Kokoro said in a slightly unsure tone and a small laugh joining it.

Smiling at the ghost, Talia shrugged. She pulled her hand back when she realized none of the others would reach for it, and tilted her head to the side. “As long as you don’t take offense to my surprise at you. We’re good!” She said cheerfully.

Ma'arz put his arm by his chest and bowed to her. "A pleasure to meet you, Talia." He greeted her kindly. Susan turns back to the Da'Mapello. "We are going to the cafeteria for food. Do you wish to join us?" She asked.

Talia smiled brightly, and placed a hand on her hip. “Heck yeah!” She said, before falling in line next to the others.

SciFiCafeteria.pngSusan nods and quickly goes back to the front of the line to lead them. After a short time of walking, they've walked into the flagship's mess hall.

It was a simple-looking cafeteria with white-tiled floors and standard tables and chairs. Several monitors are attached in the ceiling showing various channels like the news, animated shows, and the weather, although they are at a low volume and subtitles are shown. Far onto the left side of the cafeteria is a large buffet filled with various foods, both familiar and foreign. While it shows healthy food options, like fruit bowls and salads, it provides a whole spectrum of nutritious foods like diced Bovine steak, fried chicken tenders, Zorglin meat bites, et cetera. On the other side is a simple-looking bar run by two Human bartenders. They seem to serve coffee, tea, and alcohol.

"DEAR LORD! How can you afford such luxury!?" Ma'arz asked, amazed by the sight given to him. "The One-Earth Society uses most of its funding on the military... apparently." She responded simply. "Help yourselves."

Lux went up to the buffet, grabbing a plate and put on a few small morsels of food. Some water and a packet of crackers were the only other things he got as he went to the corner of the cafeteria

Ma'arz was examining the food available in the buffet, still in awe of the expansive options the captain was willing to give to her officers. Until he shifted his attention to Lux, where he saw the masked Human taking nothing more than a packet of crackers and some fine water. Baffled, he approached him so he can ask him something. "Why are you taking virtually nothing from the buffet? It seemed to be all-you-can-eat and yet, you bought nothing more than crackers and water." He asked, curious about his weird diet.

Lux looked up and grabbed his pad.

If I eat too much I become slower. I have also trained my body to take less than 500 calories in a day so I may work efficiently.

The Martian stared at him when he gave him his reasoning. "That just sounds so... inaccurate." He responded, confused but still curious. "The average calorie intake of a Human is between twenty-two hundred and twenty-eight hundred. Training yourself to eat less than five hundred just doesn't sound right." He continued. It could just be an effect of living in another world, but he studied in biology! He needs an answer to this, darn it!
