Hamele seemed worried. "B-But... How do I... do that...? A mind and a body are both only so sturdy..." She said, sounding worried as well. She appreciated the concerns, absolutely, but didn't know how to fight this guilty pleasure of hers.

"Perhaps learn calming techniques. Do yoga. Find your spirit animal. Whatever works. Curb your own demons. Speaking of which, do you know when your sadistic side first manifested?" He writes, sort of appearing like a therapist.

Hamele sighed. "Well... We can blame a fair few of the classes in medical school for that..." She said honestly. "Usually the more dangerous and/or damaging stuff. Stuff like surgeries." She added on. She frowned. "I don't know how it went from 'lesson about dying person you need to save' to 'relish in their suffering', but it's... too much to resist to me... It scares me..." She added once again, gulping in fear. "It seems to only come out in any situation that involves any semblance of potential pain - like just then or with Kokoro..."

"Well, you need to direct your efforts to master your own mind and urges, or it will manifest at the wrong time, and your life will end, and potentially others as well. Don't do any other major projects until you start making progress. That is my advice to you. I'll be checking in to make sure you are at least trying. I semi-enjoyed this talk, Dr. Hamele, but I must be going. I am going to do some final checks on my equipment, and do more research on the Matrioshka Brain." He writes, standing up, and offering her his hand.

Hamele nodded in understanding, shaking that hand and standing up. "Thanks for the company, Lux. I'll let you know if I need any fixing - either myself emotionally, or my staff." She said calmly, leading him to the door (which she opened so he could leave) and smiled warmly.

As for Kokoro, she had fully recovered by now and was off in her quarters - making her 'own' preparations. Making damn sure she's ready.

He left, and went directly into his quarters, locking the door with his own custom locks, and does more research tirelessly, not noticing as time goes by.

Meanwhile, within the servers of the Matrioshka Brain, the main hub city is in chaos, with many of the city’s inhabitants being ruthlessly murdered by other players in search for food and resources. Thankfully, though, Talia and Rewby, along with a few other survivors that they picked up along the way, managed to already leave the city before it went up in flames. They hiked through the rough terrain, searching for shelter. One of the survivors, a Shewdew ninja, was injured, but was still trying to tread on. Eventually, the Shewdew stopped dead on his tracks. “Wait! I need a minute...” The Shewdew said, attempting to sit down. “The pain of my injuries are starting to get unbearable...”

Talia could practically feel the shivers in her spine as she made sure Rewby, the other survivors, and herself had gotten far enough away from the city. Hiking that far was no easy task. As she heard the Shrewdew, Talia sighed, but not in a disappointed way. She walked over to him and helped him sit down, while thinking.

“It’s alright. We've walked a long ways for that injury to still be ok.” Suddenly, an idea came to mind. What if the game didn’t know that she couldn’t do magic? “I wonder....” Holding her hands out in front of her, Talia took a deep breath and placed her hands over his wounds. She channeled the magic like she would for a small cut, only this time, bigger.

The wounds on the Shewdew began to heal fast thanks to the Lunarim’s natural healing ability. However, the healing speed from Talia’s magic was faster and stronger than any other Lunarim magic known. Within seconds, the wounds were completely healed and the Shewdew was back to health. “Woah... I know Lunarims have healing abilities, but yours is just... Wow.” Rewby simply said, dumbfounded. “Thank you, Lunarim.” The Shewdew simply said as he hold out his hand, asking for a help up.

Talia inclined her head, and smiled. She wondered if it was taking powers from the real length of her hair instead of the games. If that was the case, then she wasn’t surprised.

“I have very long hair in real life. But I can’t use it there. I never learned the secret. I guess this game does have its flaws.” She said simply, standing up and then helping the Shrewdew. She knew Rewby had seen her hair, but she didn’t know if the Krystalline knew what it meant. “We need to keep moving. We might find more stragglers along the way.” She instructed.

//lmao, yeah I figured. Talia just grabs his head by the hair like ‘up ya go’

The survivors, including Rewby, all nod and continue their hike to find shelter. During their trip, Rewby began to snicker to herself. “Hey, Talia! I thought of something ironic!” Rewby said to Talia.

“We- We Krystallines call your kind rock monsters because of your rock-like skin, despite the fact that, by technicality, WE ARE ROCK MONSTERS, TOO!” Rewby said to Talia, smiling from her own ironic joke. “She’s not wrong.” One of the survivors blurted out.

Talia snickered, and shook her head slightly. She was suprised Rewby was just now realizing this, and placed a hand over her eyes while smiling.

“That’s true. It’s also funny because we aren’t rock people.” She started to laugh openly, and placed a hand on Rewbys shoulder. “But that is pretty funny.”

“Yeah... It actually took me a while to learn that your kind aren’t actually made of rocks,” Rewby said. “I would explain more, but we should really continue our way to find some shelter.” “I see a hole on that rock wall.” The Shewdew said, pointing to, as he just described, a cracked hole in one of the rocky walls.

Talia nodded, laughing to herself, but nodding in agreement with Rewby. She paused as the Shrewdew pointed out the hole, and moved closer to it. She trailed her fingers over it, and tilted her head slightly.

“What is this...? Is this important?”

“Could be a secret area, maybe?” Rewby guessed. One of the survivors, who was a Freakazoid, pushes aside Talia. “Stand back, I got this.” The Freakazoid simply said. Then, the Freakazoid unsheathed his blades, which were made of metal rather than bone, and broke down the wall with enough stabbing, revealing a large cave with a chest in the middle. “Oh, shelter! Nice! And a loot chest to boot!” Rewby said, excited.

Talia bit back a remark as the Freakazoid pushed her, but watched, impressed, as he tore down the wall.

“Nice. Guess that means we found camp. We’ll need at least two people, if not one, to guard the area surrounding here. Preferably people who are good at staying in the shadows.” Talia spoke mostly to herself, muttering the remarks.

“I will take care of that, Lunarim. The Shadow Ninja only sleep when the Shadow Ninja want to.” The Shewdew said. “Isn’t it just Shewdew?” Rewby asked. “We prefer ‘Shadow Ninja’. That name is an embarrassment to our kind.” The Shewdew responded. “Yeah, the Shewdew were pressuring the Galactic Alliance to give their species a new name.” The Freakazoid explained. “I think they wanted the Alliance to rename their species name to ‘Shaderkan’ or something like that.”

Talia nodded to the Shewdew, looking back to the others. She laughed as the name comment was made, and placed a hand on her hip.

“Good for them. No offense, but that name isn’t exactly the most intimidating. Then again, neither is ‘Lunarim’. Though to be fair we’re not a warrior race.” Talia mentioned casually, before entering the cave to explore. She leaned up against one of the walls, and turned to Rewby.

“My pay is so getting docked for coming here.” She said, grinning wide.

Talia shrugged, and got off the wall.

“Probably both. At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if she fired me.” Talia had a joking voice, but she really didn’t want to be fired. She liked the crew she was with right now. And to be honest, she had more friends in the past few days then she had in all her life.

Talia snickered along without a Rewby, but immediately stopped when Rewby asked. She opened her mouth slowly, and avoided eye contact.

“Yeah..... I did.” She didn’t expand on her answer, simply said that she had.
