"I would like to know. Please don't force me to actually use my interrogation skills." He writes, tired of her pathetic attempts to threaten him with her eyes. She could see his purple eye flickering to red in partial annoyance/anger as he stared deep into the windows of her soul.

Hamele eventually broke. "E-Enough! Please! I'll tell you, just stop staring me with those daggers for eyes!" She said in an angry tone, her dark blue eyes staring right at Lux's purple eye and she seemed stressed out. She panted and slowed down before turning away and guilt practically radiated from her. "I-I just... I can't stand all of these expectations... And... I need somewhere to hide... Something to confide in... While everyone else is doing their own thing, I gather samples from who I pick out and try to identify the properties of those samples... But... There's something so... alluring... about this whole process... I keep going, individual after individual, being by being, and I just can't get enough of it..." Hamele explained.

She had just explained that not only do expectations of others scare the heck out of her, they give her nowhere to hide as they're always there. Furthermore, this would lead her to undergo her experiments which also satisfies what appears to be a sadistic streak. The goals she could reach from these moments are at least normal - to gather information from the samples she takes and maybe mix them with others to essentially create new life - but she just has nowhere to hide with all of these expectations around her, so to take the fear away, she decides to indulge herself in sadistic methods. She looked down, seeming guilty and fearful of judgement - or even worse.

He softens his eyes, walking over to her, and putting a comforting hand on her shoulder. "You need to ignore the expectations of those around you. They set up mental barriers that are impossible to overcome on your own. I've seen it happen to many a brilliant mind such as yourself. Medics and doctors face some of the highest expectations and are commonly viewed as the weakest links. Those who preach that are wrong. They are arguably the most important part of any team. You say you need something to confide in. I will be that object. If you need something to satisfy your apparent thirst for knowledge, come to me, for I have that same desire." He writes his passage after taking a second to write down what she needs to hear/see.

Hamele was surprised at the hand resting on her shoulder and then she read the passage. She seemed so confused, but read on. Hamele sighs. "Knowledge... is not what I seek. I seek freedom. Freedom from fear, from regret..." She said fearfully, though closed her eyes. She smiled after a while and re-opened her eyes, reading that Lux had offered to let her confide in him. "I thank you, but... Please... keep all of this a secret... I dare think what happens to me when the captain finds out..." She said, soon remembering something. "Oh! That's right! You said you wanted to look at my staff at one point, did you not? Why not do that now, if you're willing to?" She offered.

"I will not tell a soul. And yes, I was going to ask about the staff after I talked to you about Kokoro. I've done that, so yes. I would appreciate it if you told me exactly what your staff contains." He writes his simple 3 sentences and shows her.

Hamele sighs in relief upon reading them. She would put her staff up and onto a desk in the room, carefully unlocking the cage to the power source and taking it out. It was a white gemstone of some kind, which shone 'light beams' around the room - even when Hamele tried to cover it, those pesky beams would radiate from it. "This is the centrepiece of my entire staff, the power source, an Infinity Jewel - a very rare and sought after ore that never runs out of energy or power at all. It's because of this that I keep my staff so close to me - not just for sentimental value, but for how valuable these things are. Do you feel it shine into your body, Lux?" Hamele would ask after a while, some light beams shining over Lux's body. They were this inescapable light, and pretty darn warm - understandable. It didn't seem to generate 'much' energy at a time, but how the heck it never runs out is another story. After showing it to Lux, Hamele would put the Infinity Jewel back into the staff's cage for the power source and lock it back up.

"I could feel the warmth and heat, yes. It is quite a curious item. You said it was rare. How many more are there?" He writes, his curiosity piqued at this point at coming into contact with an object that he had never encountered before. He has kind of a thing for the unknown in his quest for knowledge until he dies.

Hamele chuckled. "I don't know how many there are apart from this one - but this cannot be the only one, I know that much. If I had to make a guess, another 5 at least could be out there." She said, merely theorising. She would then pick her staff up from the desk and put it against a wall in her room, seeming to have calmed down instrumentally well.

"Interesting...I'll make it a goal to get one for myself. Regardless, what have you discovered about your 'Infinity Jewel'?" He writes, his eyes glancing to it occasionally.

Hamele chuckled. "Well, for starters, it seems to generate this energy I have so far been unable to pin point or generalise... Luckily, it seems to be an adaptable energy source, thus meaning it can be used for pretty much anything, just given a generator and it will convert itself into that energy and keep fuelling it as such..." Hamele said honestly, at least, from what she knows. "At one point, I even tested if it ran out - but after 9 hours of continuous plasma beams, it did not. It's... a very special gemstone indeed..." She said, hoping it justifies her protective instinct - not only was the staff itself very special to her, but the Infinity Crystal it uses as a source must be a part of that in some way shape or form...

He appears to think for a long while. "If this seemingly has no limit to energy output, this could be used to theoretically power anything that we could imagine. Superstructures, even Gigastructures could be possible. I can see why you are protective of it." He writes, now staring at it as he scrutinizes it with his eyes.

Hamele giggled. "Precisely! So, I in particular decided to use this bundle of malleable energy, no less endless energy, to make the unnatural healing beam my staff possesses, and also the plasma beam! I kind had to fit in two generators for it and have them swap places when the dial turns, but hey! It works like a charm!" Hamele said proudly, a smile now present on her face. A hopeful smile - no sadism in sight at all, just pure pride.

He smiles slightly under the mask at her positivity. "With the gem itself, and my mechanical intellect, I could make just about anything I wanted with that gem. If you ever need a modification to your staff, let me know. I'd be happy to do so." He writes, and offers a heavily scarred hand for her to shake.

Hamele eagerly nodded. "You bet! That's a deal!" She swung her arm forward and grabbed onto that hand firmly, shaking it enthusiastically. Her grip was weak, but it felt serious and firm to the touch. Hamele's face had lighted up brilliantly with a smile and happy laughter.

"I'm glad you seem more positive. In return for opening up and informing me about your staff, I'll answer a few questions about me that you have." He writes with one hand, and shows her his offer.

Hamele chuckled. "Oh, no, no, no, I insist- you don't need to share your secrets with me! I have already told you knowledge is not what I want!" She said honestly, but appreciated the offer greatly. "Besides, if you keep spending all your secrets to several people, eventually there will be nothing 'to' hide! Everyone will know, Lux, and that worries me... For your sake..." Hamele added, a tone of - yes - worry in there. Concern? It falls there alright.

"I'm confident in my friends. And there are several things I will take to my grave. Also, how did you know I have told others some secrets of my own?" He writes, suspicion almost visible in his calligraphy.

Hamele shook her head. "So you admit it? I was only making a blind assumption, actually, but it's to be expected if you are to get along with everyone, right? Information trading 'is' something you seem to like, after all, so I assumed you'd trade yours for theirs." Hamele said to him, honesty ablaze in her eyes, actually unaware Lux had practically sold his secrets. Regardless, she went on. "I personally don't dare to pry into your business. Privacy is a precious zone, I intend to leave it alone and maintain it that way." She said respectfully, closing her eyes after a bit and chilling out.

"Then you are a good person I can trust, I hope. But yes, I am a fair man, and am willing to trade secrets for info I deem equal in value. Most of the things I know are useless to the average person, but some other things...are priceless for the good of the other person." He writes, trailing off in his writing.

Hamele nodded. "I see... then, if i must... Am I allowed to... know about those scars?" She asked Lux somewhat nervously.

He thinks on whether he will answer. "My parents were not friendly towards me and subjected me to many horrors and tortures before I even turned 12. That is the reason for the majority of my scars. Some are from my quest for knowledge, but it was mostly my own parentage. I have felt every kind of torture that you can imagine. I will say there is a reason my body is covered." He writes, showing some vulnerability in his newfound trusted friend.

Hamele nodded in understanding. She could feel that sadistic spirit welling up inside of her - trying to resist it. "Hmm... That's quite a long time... From the curses of knowledge, the torment of the world... And yet you hide them all under there..." As it went on however, as she said those words, Hamele's tone would slightly shift into that sinister tone, unknown to her.

He looks at her. "I'm not showing you. Also, you've reverted back to the sinister tone." He writes and shows her. He then makes a mental note not to mention anything about pain or suffering or anything sinister/satanic around her.

Hamele seemed confused and then realised, shaking. "S-Sorry!" She seemed embarrassed, shuddering a bit. She laughed it off, as this sadistic side of hers seemed to have this uncontrollable nature, as Hamele had sold it as previously, triggered by any ounce of sinister means - primarily pain, of course.

"This is a problem of yours, Doctor Hamele. You need to learn control of yourself, else someone takes advantage of it, or you destroy yourself without realizing it." He writes, and shows her.
