Fantasy Fantastic Desolator: Realm of Hrenna

"Huh?" Haruto snapped back to the reality of the situation, and heard Momoka's question. "Oh, it's nothing. Just planning ahead. What are we having?"

"I've got some eggs, scallions, rice, and chicken, so I'm thinking of making oyakodon." Momoka turned away and set down her pouch. She pulled out her cooking utensils and food and began cooking. "Hey! Can someone grab the folded table and and set it please? Make sure to use the bowls, chopsticks, and wide spoons!" She cut some scallions and poured it into a boiling pot of water. She did the same with some chicken and eggs. Letting it simmer, she covered it and pulled out the rice cooker from her pouch. When she opened it, the steam of fresh rice filled the air. "Ah," She sighed in happiness. "Nothing like fresh rice to brighten up your day." She went to check on the broth, and, deeming it ready, took it off the fire. She then proceeded to scoop rice into the bowls and pouring broth onto them. "Dinner's ready!" She cheered.

Haruto put his weapon down by his tent, then went over to the table as everyone else gathered around it.

"This does seem very appetizing. Thank you for the meal." Haruto put his hands together in prayer, prayed for his food, then took up his chopsticks, ready to eat.

"No problem!" Momoka smiled. She took a bite out of her oyakodon and grinned. "Good job, me!" She patted herself on the back cheerfully.

Haruto quietly ate his meal, thinking about the power that was calling out to him from the Blizzard. What powers do those weapons have...? He wondered to himself as he ate. What about Zangetsu? Maybe the elements affect the weapons summoned from them...

"Haruto? Did you hear what I said?" Momoka looked annoyed as she gazed quizzically at her friend.

Upon hearing Momoka ask, Haruto snapped out of his trance, then swallowed the food already in his mouth.

"Sorry, I was thinking about a few things. You were saying?"

Momoka sighed. "I was asking where we were headed to next. What's the next place after this tundra before we reach the dragon?"

"Ah. After passing through the tundra, we follow a river upstream to a jungle. Then, we pass through the jungle to the plains. Go across the plain, then we'll meet the Volcano. Climb up the volcano and slay the dragon. I would like to go on more adventures with all of you; we make a good team." Haruto said, putting down his chopsticks and putting his hands together again. "Thank you for the delicious meal."

Shado sits quietly at the end of the cave, petting her wolf. The beautiful silver wolf was about the size of a normal human being. Her stomach growled, but nothing at the dinner table suited her diet. It was useless to go look for food out in the tundra. She just had to wait until she got to the jungle or the plains. But she wanted to keep it a secret, her identity was something that wasn't pleasing. A "freak" they had called her. It wasn't something she enjoyed.

Momoka turned to Shado. "You're not eating. Is something wrong? I can make something else for you if you like."

Shado turns to Momoka, "Oh, I'm alright. My... diet... is hard to please. Carry on, I'll keep watch."

The silver wolf whined, "I know, Nashiro, I can't let them know, not yet at least."

"I am not going to starve," Shado almost growled, then she sighs, "I'm not fighting with you on this, I'm not eating and that is final."

Momoka groaned. "Ugh, I'm too tired for this. There's extra stuff in the fridge if you want it. Just please try to take care of yourself."

Momoka looked grateful. "Thanks. You're a good friend." She got up, and walked over to her tent. It was very difficult to notice her wince when pain ran through one of her ribs.

"Well Shado. Let's go find you something to eat then." Haruto got up, got out his Blizzard and snow coat, then walked over to Shado. "I don't want to let you starve, and I could use a little exercise after this meal."

"You must be starving, and since refuse to eat anything else, I have a feeling you need to go hunt for something to eat. Shall we?" Haruto said.

"I feel like going out for a bit of exercise. I trust you and your friend here can handle yourselves. I'll just be out practicing my skills with this new weapon. I really ought to come up with a better name for it... Blizzard sounds obnoxiously stupid and plain..." Haruto put on his snow coat, then took up his ice-based weapon. "Hmm... Maybe Toketsu. Yeah, that sounds better."

Momoka grinned from inside her tent as she watched the two leave together. Ship, she thought excitedly. She then lay down and went to sleep.
