Fantasy Fantastic Desolator: Realm of Hrenna

Haruto kept leading the group through the freezing cold, adjusting his coat to keep his warmth up. Then, he looked behind his shoulder at the group. Emy was on her dragon companion Leafa, taking great care of Leafa. Momoka held onto what looked like fire in a bottle, content with herself it seemed. Shado... He didn't know what was up with Shado. She seemed on edge, her hand was gripping her sword's hilt. After a moment of debate, he decided to drop back to where Shado was, and walked next to her.

"So Shado. I'm curious, why are you doing this?" Haruto asked, concern slightly present in his voice.

Shado walks on, her eyes set on the path in front of her, "Isn't it obvious? I want to become stronger. It's a burden for me to always be positioned on Support. Although I do enjoy people depending on me to help them, I prefer fighting head-on, and not what people always say Silver Hands are good for support."

Emy listened to the conversation for a moment before Leafa started slowing down. She then made her drink the mana potion, which Leafa then kept going. SHe lies on Leafa's back, now falling asleep.

"I feel like there's more than meets the eye here, Shado. While it's nice to be able to attack a lot, it's best to have support. I suppose a boost in offensive power is nice." Haruto clenched his fist, then released it. "Maybe you just want to break the Silver Hand stereotype of being excellent support. Or maybe you seek something else..."

"I just want to get to know you better. Get you to trust me. If you'd like, I'd be glad to tell you one of my secrets in exchange."

"I don't need secrets that aren't mine, Haruto. Like I said, I am only here for training, not to get into a friendly relationship with anyone. I see to these people as comrades, not friends."

Haruto sighs in defeat. "Very well... But what will you do when we've slain the dragon? What's left you in the aftermath of all this?"

"I would be on my way. I would most likely never see anyone again, and I'll be stronger than I have been. I don't plan on making bonds, I never had, never will. The only exception is my sister."

Haruto questioned himself internally. Was this the time to tell her? No, I should wait a little bit.

"It's always good to have friends. Friends can always be there for you, no matter what you're going through... But seeing as how you plan on leaving right after, I doubt we'll ever need to be friends. But you never know what fate has in store for us."

"You're weren't kidding about not trusting people so easily... Guess I should head back to the front again. Keep a look out for any monsters that might attack." Haruto jogged up towards the front of the group to lead them in silence once again.

"It's a good 2 hours to get halfway through. We might need to set up a camp somewhere with shelter later. That is if no monsters attack." Haruto said. The wind began to pick up, blowing cold air against everyone.

Momoka shivered, despite her fire in a bottle giving off heat. She pulled her cloak tighter around herself and sighed in relief.

Shado gripped the hilt of the sword and unsheathed her sword, Moonlit Fang. "Something's here."

Fang glowed in her hands, Shado assumed it was from the presence of the monster, or whatever decided to show up. Out of nowhere, a giant wolf appeared and growled.

Shado's eyes softened, "Oh, it's just you."

Haruto took note of the giant wolf, and decided not to get involved, since Shado seemed to be friendly with the wolf. Then, he sensed an odd presence. Quick to defend, Haruto summoned his Blizzard weapon set, and held the shield ready to defend as he kept his hand on his sword's hilt. Upon further inspection, the odd presence went away, but Haruto kept the Blizzard out regardless.

Sensing the presence, Momoka drew a bottle with a sickly purple liquid in it. She looked around cautiously. When it disappeared, she lowered the bottle but kept it out regardless.

When she turned around, she saw Shado with the wolf. Paling a little, she walked a little faster and tried to ignore it.

A few hours had passed by, and a snow storm was growing. With an obvious need for shelter, Haruto led the group to look for somewhere away from the storm; they managed to find a large cave that was perfect for escaping the cold. So everyone set up camp in the cave, tents were set, the campfire created, and all that. Everyone huddled around the flame to try and keep warm, but Haruto stood by the entrance of the cave, looking out at the storming tundra.

Looking down at his Blizzard, he felt an icy power emanating from within the weapon set, as if something was trying to call out for him. At this rate, we may need to stay in this cave for a few days at most. Guess it would make for an excellent team bonding exercise, if anyone was up for it. But what's with that power the weapon is giving off? Is there something contained within it...?
