-Louise Worth, The District Attorney-

"We'll need to follow where else the blood leads, no matter how small. It could lead to a weapon, or clothes, or wherever the suspect washed off afterwards." Louise paused, running her hand through her hair. "Even so, we may want to check out the - sports goods anyway. You never know the things that might get passed over."

Wanda, first a for most, was a creature of habits. This might be a death game, but the wouldn't stop her from her morning rituals. Waking up early, Wanda started her morning Yoga. Forty minutes of focusing on her mind and body, Wanda was relaxed. Healthy body, healthy mind, equals a healthy spirit or so they say. Wanda had been doing Yoga for years. It helped recenter her. Lord knows she could need more of that right now. Suddenly, at the forty-first minute, a text from Pinkie. A melancholy smile adorned the Scarlet Witch's face, Wanda texted back.

"Okay Pinkie, I'll be down in a bit. I need to finish my exercises.

Finshing up the yoga, it was jogging time. Wanda jogged around the building, suddenly she stopped again. Another Text. This time from Usagi.

"Okay, no rush."

Wanda smiled, jogging back into her room, Wanda put on a robe from her closest, the witch took a deep relaxing breath.

1646695014832.png

Suddenly, a shift. Something was different. Then, she got a text from Pinkie. Confirming her gut.

"On my way."

Running out of her room, Wanda, the witch, stilling work out gear, could be heard galloping down the hallways. Reaching Pinkie Pie and the other, the witch shouted. "Girls? Where are my girls? Sophie? Atsushi? Are either one of you here?" Like a den mother, Wanda dashed to Pinkie, forcefully pulling her close to the slightly older woman. Holding her like a mother would a child, Wanda began to sooth the older girl.

"Are you okay? Where is Usagi? Who was killed? It's going to be okay."

"I'm not a true vampire myself, though I am the offspring of one and thus I'm essentially one, not quite as capable but close enough that even a true vampire wouldn't know the difference." Shinobu responded to Atsushi. "As for making objects appear, it is more that I create them from nothing. In my prime I could create castles from thin air." After the explanation, she went into her room. Once inside, she took seat on her bed, laying the mirror beside her and waiting for Patches, playing her game in the meantime. Once he arrived, she stowed the game away once more.

"This 'game' or whatever is all about gathering information. Anyone dumb enough to kill this early is going to find that out the hard way." Shinobu picked up the mirror laying next to her and showed it to Patches. "Little bit of a tricky thing, mirrors. They show thine reflection, unless a vampire is the one looking into it. Except, mine own reflection is no absentee." Shinobu stated, showing Patches the reflection she cast in the mirror. "Simply put, we need gather information, and splitting up into different partnerships gains us additional information as now, rather than us being in contact with 2 people total, we are in contact with two each plus each other. The mirror is unrelated to the information gathering, and rather is a device I wish to use for slightly more nefarious reasons. That priest is likely mentally unstable given the fact that he no longer has the comfort and protection of his church. It should be easy enough to goad him into madness if we play enough tricks on him. Whilst he reaches the breaking point, most peoples' attention will be on him save us and a few others that will be in on the ordeal, which will likely lead to those of us paying attention to witness someone trying to get away with a kill in the confusion and chaos."

Once more, Shinobu pulled out her game, playing it for the remainder of the night as sleep was not something she needed nor desired. Once morning came, however, she would join the group in the kitchen for their silly little meeting. Like the others, she noticed the absence of a few members, albeit she wasn't as worried as she didn't care too much about them. Shinobu would follow the group as they searched around, taking note of all the differences she could spot between the place yesterday and today. She went with the group that discovered the body, having smelt the fresh blood and wanted to observe those that would be the first to head to it. After hearing Kotomine's 'alibi' and seeing the different interactions that occurred, Shinobu checked the board for Trixie's written partner. Soon after, she began to audibly laugh.

"Such a horrendous mistake that's been made," Shinobu said in a smug and superior tone. "As much as I wish it were the case, this so-called priest here is not the one you should all be pointing fingers at. I cannot give much more say than that, lest you all become reliant on me to think for you and letting you all leech off my intelligence is not something I intend to allow lest I be blamed for any incompetence of the masses." Shinobu took the mirror she had formed the prior night and placed it under the board with the names, subtly angling it such that it was showing Kotomine's reflection for her and thus her reflection for Kotomine. With her hands free, she pulled out her tablet and wrote message to Patches, forwarding the same message to Atsushi.

The partner for Trixie was changed overnight. I suspect that Trixie's original partner, Sera, is the one responsible for this incident. Perhaps investigating their room may uncover something.

In Shinobu's mind, it was also possible that someone else did this switching of the names, but if someone else did then it would be difficult to tell who did it. Of course, there was one possible solution to that, though it would require that nobody else mention anything potentially wrong with the board.

Mono
Cafe
Mono had decided not to boot off last night. If she were to be honest, it was difficult to fully trust anyone here, as sad as that was. After all, they were supposedly in a "killing game". Being amicable was one thing, but trust was a whole different thing entirely. So when she received Nana's text in the morning, the irony made her chuckle lightly.

I slept well enough. I hope you had a restful night as well Nana.

After replying to Nana's text, Mono decided to send a text to her physical partner.

Hello Hugo. My name is Mono. I'm not sure if you're aware, but it would appear we are to be physical partners. As in, we will be trying to keep track of each other, keep each other safe, and so on and so forth. You should be able to find what I look like on your own device. See you later, partner.

She had still yet to see him, so she figured she might as well get that out of the way. The overall idea of the partner system seemed good, so she figured she may as well do her part. But after that was a grim announcement, and she headed to the cafe. Like everyone else, she observed. The scene made her heart sink. The body. The blood. The cups on the counter. The loss of life was always something tragic, no matter whose it was. But one thing she noticed was something strange that nobody else seemed to have mentioned yet.

The chalkboard had been altered. Perhaps that was to be expected, given there were only two alterations, but that was a rather important thing to note. Unfortunately, there was no one Mono was sure she could trust, especially in this situation. But the information did have to be shared. If not now, sometime soon. For now she would run her own little investigation. If she got stuck, then perhaps it'd be best to enlist help afterwards.

With that, she sent a message to Alexander and began to scan the room for him.

Sorry to bother you in this situation, but I'd like to pick your brain regarding your physical partner. And not to worry, I do know my manners. You can call me Mono. Please, do reach out.

"So… it's either Menma or Sera,"

Sophie was next to Shinobu. Hearing her speak, plus reading over the list made those two names stick out the most to her.

"If it's not Kotomine, it's either Menma or Sera…"

It was soon after that Sophie heard Wanda call for her, Usagi, and Atsushi. She instantly left the cafe and ran straight to Wanda.

"Wanda…" Sophie said, looking grim and shaken, "…Trixie died…"

"I know for sure that was altered. Menma was supposed to be my messenging partner..." Claude mumbled, hearing that others also were suspicious of the chalkboard. Somehow he couldn't help but feel guilty. He didn't check on anyone. He didn't bother texting Menma to check in with her either. If he had...maybe he could have interfered. Maybe Trixie might still be alive...
He felt like punching the nearest object suddenly, feeling suddenly angry at himself. This might really be HIS fault for not checking in with his messaging partner. Menma probably changed the lists to make it look like HE was who killed Trixie, since he hadn't been with Louise last night and had no solid allibi to go by. The tablet was stolen, so it really made it look like a messenging partner had something to hide. That was, if Kotomine's testimony was truly all that happened as well.
"I think we need to find Menma. I beleive she's the prime suspect right now." he told the others flatly. He no longer had any of his usual easygoing attitude. He couldn't show it anymore. If Menma was who did this...his not checking in was to blame. If he just checked in...there may not have been a chance to...
He didn't look at anyone, sending a quick text to Menma. If she had nothing to hide then she should be willing to respond.

*Why aren't you at the cafe? I need to speak with you. In person.

He sent a stern text. If she had nothing to hide, Menma would come, right? In the meantime they should devise a way to get to her first if she doesn't come willingly. Her testimony might be important.

Clementine felt her heart beat a bit faster at this apparent bit of news. "Excuse me?" she questioned, looking at Sophie. What exactly was she saying? Not only that, but then Sophie ran out of the room! "What was she talking about? Sera and Menma are the two people I've hung out with most and I have noticed nothing from either of them."

She didn't have time for this. The list possibly being changed couldn't really be proved one way or another, at least for now.

"... Whatever, what are other areas around here? The gift shop? The laundry room? If someone wants to check the gift shop, others can join me in the laundry room."

Marie - Ultimate Decapitator
Conclusion of Day 2
hukigen_bk.pngAlthough Shinoa's verbal fumble likely would've been clear to a more socially adept individual, Marie seemed completely unaware of it, and the explanation earned a simple "Oh". She didn't press for further detail, to the youngest of the Hiiragi house's fortune. She was glad she'd misunderstood and that they were still all together, though she wasn't entirely sure why Nana hadn't come in with them.

Putting that aside, though, the tension that fleetingly filled the air around them after Marie made her strange observation definitely seemed to go unnoticed. It seemed like the peasant girl didn't intend to press for details, and Shinoa's following her confusion of just what 'those things' were was appreciated. Fortunately, before either of the girls could get too caught up in the workings of such things, Cater finally reemerged. She seemed relieved by this, glad to see he still had his head attached, but... uh... apparently she had misunderstood that? "...?" The raucous laughter that accompanied his explanation was a touch embarrassing, and she looked mildly discontent as she glanced to the floor with a small pout. "Y-you could've said so sooner... You seemed so sincere before," she mumbled, unhappily. She once again found that she couldn't understand the strange language he was using, but despite this and her momentary humiliation, she seemed to forgive him rather quickly. With the group reunited, and the bear appearing to hurry them all out of the place, she could only give her companions a sympathetic look. They'd just have to go get food very first thing in the morning. Nana appeared to have the same thought, which made Marie perk up just a tad. "Yes," she agreed with a small nod. "Do you think this basement has parfait?" she wondered as they exited the area, only for Cater to extend his hand to her and offer to take her back to her room.

Oh. Right. If this promise business wasn't real, and he didn't want her to come along with him, then... She would have to be alone again, wouldn't she?

Alone. Alone. Will I always be alone?

With a contrite ghost of a smile, she took his hand. And with the look in her eyes, one had to wonder if the feeling of despair that accompanied her touch was a mere glimpse of the turmoil that raged within the girl's own heart.

---Day 3---

The night passed uneventfully, more or less. Unable to obtain any sleep, but aware that going off to bother Nana or the others would likely only trouble them, Marie simply laid in bed and pondered the situation. She couldn't shake that perpetual worry for Ren, nor her anxiousness to get back to him, but... several of the others here had been kind to her so far. Was it okay to leave them behind? Idly, she wondered about the semantics of this whole game. If she and her group banded together to kill someone, took credit for it together, would they all get to leave? That seemed like a nice solution, right? Maybe she could ask the others about it later. Surely they'd be happy for a way they could all leave together, right?

Fortunately, she didn't get the chance to propose that accursed and ludicrous idea. Despite the fact that she didn't understand the true meaning or weight of killing another person, and thus held no inhibitions about speaking her mind freely regarding such gruesome matters, the girl found herself far too occupied once she regrouped with her companions to even recall the thought. For her, the day was full of new experiences, and even despite the lingering feelings of desperation to reunite with Ren, she actually found herself... enjoying it. All of the things she'd never gotten to do before- stuffing her face with good food(in genuinely inhuman proportions- it was almost like her stomach was a vacuum space, or a portal to another dimension), chatting about random nonsense, learning to play a variety of games; most of which she lost, though she didn't seem to mind whatsoever. It was a pleasant time despite the awful circumstances. She even managed to get the group's help with learning to navigate her tablet a bit better.

But of course, all good things must come to an end. The night still came, and with it, the loneliness.

Marie pulled her knees close to her chest and buried her head. It hurt so much.

niko_bk.pngBy 6am, she couldn't bear just sitting around any longer. With every passing day, the ache in her chest grew more and more painful, and she became more and more convinced that these feelings did not belong to her. It was maddening, and for the first time, she half wished that the wound Reinhard had instilled would heal. But... everyone else, they all had to deal with these awful feelings, didn't they? The weight of sadness and pain, threatening to eat them alive. If Ren and all of the people she had met here could bear such a pain, then... then she would, too. She steeled her resolve, deciding that she would do all she could to keep from allowing the maelstrom of emotion to consume her whole.

And so she sought distraction. It was still a bit earlier than when she typically met with Nana, Shinoa, and Cater, so the girl decided to try to bide time until it was closer to 8am. She hadn't been a very good texting buddy to Frank thanks to her technological struggles, leaving her to only send updates sporadically, but she did at least manage to send a message to him via text to speech.

'Is this working? I am going to the... uh... the food place.'

Pretty much all of her texts to him were like this. Go figure.

In any case, the blonde managed to find her way to the kitchen on her own, where she scavenged up a variety of sweets like a raccoon fixing a feast from the local trashcans. Did food really do anything for her? No. Was that going to stop her? Also no.

After munching on a few different various treats whilst simply sitting in the kitchen space(and likely startling anyone else who came down to retrieve food as she did so), the girl realized it was finally close enough to time that she could go bother the others. She was about to leave to do so when she realized that they would probably be hungry, and thus decided to grab a few things to take back up with her- namely, whatever sort of foods she'd seen them eat the day prior. With that done, she was off, hoping that this small gesture might make the others happy.

"Good morning," she greeted them all, her thin arms full of food. It was kind of a comedic sight, actually. "I was already up, so I brought you all food," she explained with a smile, though her messy bangs made it hard to notice. Thanks to her arms being full, she couldn't reach up to push them out of her face, and she currently almost looked comparable to a sheepdog with both eyes mostly concealed. Despite this, she seemed more than fine with hauling her chosen 'gifts' to the restaurant, where she'd been ready to set them at a table but failed to do so upon noticing a certain figure in the room. She paused, thoughtfully, staring at Monokuma for a moment from behind that curtain of hair.

"Ah... It's that bear again," she observed, calm and indifferent. Perhaps curious. What was it doing here? And why did everyone seem so uppity? She glanced around, features morphing with mild confusion. "Is something the matter?" In all the chaos, she didn't get a clear answer, but that in and of itself was a pretty obvious yes. Before she could even begin to puzzle out what was going on, it seemed like her group had started moving away, prompting her to frantically throw her loot down on a table before trying to catch up. She didn't get what was happening, and she didn't want to be left behi--

...huh?

Going through the hallways, Marie slowed her pace slightly. Blood, blood, blood. There was a trail of blood. She observed it impartially, seeming more surprised than afraid. She quietly continued on their path, seeming to consider something as she stared at the backs of her friends. Why did they all seem so distressed? What was the big deal? She couldn't comprehend it, and half thought of asking, but wound up bumping right into Cater before she could. He had unexpectedly stopped, turning to her with a serious expression and catching her totally off guard. She flinched, both from the impact of colliding with him(gentle a bump as it may have been) as well as the oddity of being told to wait. She stared back at him in earnest, clearly at a loss as to what why he wanted this of her.

"I don't understand when you say things like that," she sighed, seeming just a tad frustrated. Perhaps hurt. "You promised we would stick together, but you keep leaving..." Maybe promises just weren't meant to be taken seriously, and she was silly for hoping. Or maybe it was her. She glanced away, wrapping a single arm around herself. "If that's what you want, then that's okay. But I wish you would rely on me a little."

And so, assuming Cater wasn't swayed or Shinoa or Nana didn't chime it, she waited gloomily outside the cafe as she was told. Even if she didn't like it.

"I don't understand when you say things like that, You promised we would stick together, but you keep leaving... If that's what you want, then that's okay. But I wish you would rely on me a little."

She had spoken with such eloquence that he hadn’t heard from her before. She spoke confidently and sure, and genuinely frustrated. He understood, but he had thought it would be better to keep her away from the carnage. But maybe she didn’t need his protection. And maybe he needed her there for him just as much as him for her.

He was out of line. He didn’t consider her feelings on the matter, and for that he would apologize later. He was acting like a father when all she needed was a friend. He had unknowingly been emulating his older sisters, but why would he do that? He never liked how they treated him, so why would he do that?

He backed out of the room almost as quickly as he came in. He said no words as he found Marie waiting by the door. Without saying a word he grabbed her hand and pulled her in the room. As they stood once again facing the tragedy in front of their eyes, he didn’t let go. Even as the feeling of despair grew in his chest once again, he didn’t let go.

“I didn’t… want you to see. But I can’t shield you from this.” He sniffled, trying to force back his tears. “You’re your own person and you can make decisions. So if you want to stay with me, I’d be happy to have you. I’m- sorry.”

DAY THREE

Alexander Hamilton spent his day settling in—rather comfortably despite the situation. As somebody used to harsh conditions, their space as a whole was actually not too shabby; even when compared to the living conditions of the 1700s. As the panic and shock of their surroundings took hold, Hamilton's work ethics also set in.

He awoke at 6 a.m., perhaps even earlier. Hamilton obeyed the established rules, messaging Yumeko and Sera (only because she was not physically around) that he was "Moving on towards the Canteen for coffee." However, he would have quickly found during his caffeine-fueled burst of activity, that he lacked the usual work to do.

Instead, he took to briefly exploring the many rooms of their shelter, still messaging Yumeko of wherever he went.

It was quite uneventful; boring, almost.

DAY FOUR

"Ask, and you shall receive..."
Hamilton put away his tablet, having read Mono's message.

"I see you found the body, left precariously to the melody of silence."
In the cafe, Hamilton appeared seemingly out of nowhere, looking ever so slightly thrown off. In his hand was a cup of coffee, boldly taken from the second machine next to the blood-stained one. "If what the bear states rings, true, that marks me as the first to discover the cadaver." Hamilton took a swig of the coffee, calmly entering the midst of the cafe. As expected, the younger folks (who in his opinion did not belong in this game of wits and high stakes) were less than calm.

Hamilton sat on a lone table. "I followed my same routine as yesterday: I awoke a little before 6 a.m., messaged Yumeko and Sera of my traversals, and then moved to grab a cup of the strong java from the canteen. Only this time, the metallic scent burnt through his nostrils instead of the crushed beans." He motioned to the south washroom. "Indeed, I followed the trail and I saw the body. I refrained from alerting as to watch for the potential killer; people tend to act differently while having commit a crime unknown to the public, compared to a crime that is known to the public." Hamilton shrugged. "Alas, none caught my notice."

The Founding Father rose roughly, leaving the now-empty cup on the table. He appeared worked up—not in a worried manner, but... excited—upon taking into account the growing crowd that split and debated. "And so it begins; Monkuma's game of life's end. No one else was in The Room Where It Happened!" Hamilton, now with a gait as though hopping to a rhythm, hurried over to the blackboard. At this point, he was practically glowing. "Out of curiosity, bear with me. Are you aware that we're making history? This will be the first murder trial of our peculiar situation. The liberty behind deliberation!"

Hamilton took the chalk, taking to a blank space on the board. "For certainty, this crime occurred before 6 a.m." And that fact, along with the fact of her missing tablet, and his own whereabouts prior to the discover, Hamilton wrote on the blackboard in elegant haste. "We should write down the rest of what we know before hopping to any solid conclusion; every action has an equal opposite reaction. When we get the testimonies of our other suspects, whoever Trixie's partner was, we can stitch together alibis and, like rational minds, figure out the guilty party!"

Chalk in one hand, he used the other to retrieve the tablet left in his pocket. He glanced at the message one more time before it disappeared. "Mono. Mono, Mono, Mono. Is Mono in here?" Hamilton, still looking onto the crowd, wrote Sera's name on a separate list alongside Menma's (having overheard the other name pop up as suspects). "I am open to discuss Sera, and, oh, no, I believe I now know why we must discuss our no-show who has shown no appearance as of though."

It appeared that the Ultimate Penman took a liking to the chalkboard.

After being dragged to the Cafe by Cater, Nana entered the place without delay and would meet with that horrible sight. While a corpse was nothing new to her, the ultimate class leader visibly clenched her teeth, as though being angered or disgusted by something. She soon regained composure and looked around the cafe to gain more information, which would possibly be nothing beyond what others have also investigated. As she heard Monokuma’s reply about the time of death, Nana immediately spoke up in a bit lower voice.

Don’t we have an ultimate doctor? Having him perform an autopsy or just observe some signs to determine the specific time of the death is fine with you, right?

Nana then picked up her phone and took a look at the new app and rule. She also glanced around regularly and took note of the locations other people had gone in to investigate. After hearing Clem’s mentioned the other 2 places that haven’t been checked, the girl volunteered without asking anyone else in her group. Her voice seemed to regain a bit of its usual energy, or at the very least it was higher than when she was talking to the bear.

Leave the gift shop to me. I have entered it quite a few times. If there’s any change I’m sure to notice it.

She then left the cafe and saw Marie and Cater was talking about something serious. Leaving them there and doing her job alone was a reasonable choice, but… “Guys. I will go check the gift shop. You can come and help me look for anything unusual” For some reason she called out for them. It’s not like their help could match her own observational skill. Whatever, Nana soon dismissed her trivial thought and the group head to the gift shop and began their investigation. Or to put it frankly, Nana began her investigation without paying much attention to what the other 3 had been doing. She searched throughly for anything that could be a clue. Be it bloodstains, footprints and even something minor like a change in position of any merchandise wouldn’t escape her eyes.

South Washroom —> Hallway

Pinkie had been planning to stay inside the washroom, but she suddenly heard the familiar, motherly voice that she soon recognized: Wanda. The woman hadn’t been talking to Pinkie Pie about anything related to death or the killing yet, so Pinkie found herself immediately drawn to going towards her. The panic inside her seemed to dim, as Pinkie was soon reminded of the warmth that Wanda had given her before at the Monokuma-bomb incident. Would Wanda give her the warmth again right now? Would she calm Pinkie down from… well… everything happening right now? Would she sooth Pinkie, agreeing that everything right now was fake? Pinkie got encouraged by these thoughts and reached over to the tablet that she had screeched across the floor, only now reading Wanda’s message that she sent Pinkie. After reading this, Pinkie held the tablet to her chest, and then stepped outside into the hallway.

“Wanda?” Pinkie’s shaking voice could be heard from her chattering mouth, searching for where Wanda was. Pinkie was sure that she heard Wanda somewhere in the hallways… maybe she went inside the cafe? Pinkie turned around now, waddling to the cafe, but the moment she did, she was frozen in her tracks.

Blood. A trail of it, from the cafe to the sports store. The blood in the sink… the blood on the floor here now… there wasn’t a connection! Not at all! Of course there wasn't! None. Absolutely no connection. Even if Pinkie believed there was no connection, she still felt panic at seeing this red liquid. Pinkie preoccupied herself from screaming, though, by ramming her head with denial, refusing to believe anything was happening right now. Nothing was happening! It was ketchup, or it was the fake blood they would always have on “Nightmare Night”, her world’s equivalent of Halloween! It was fake. Everything here was fake. Even with her thinking this, at the sight of this blood, Pinkie really looked as if she were about to pull out a bloodcurdling scream.

Before she could do such a thing, though, Wanda quickly tackled her into a forceful hug that Pinkie couldn’t have tried to get herself out of. Not like Pinkie would have tried to, though, as she instantly melted in the older woman’s arms. The tenseness seemed to go away with Wanda’s warmth and her asking if Pinkie was okay, but it quickly tightened up again when the witch brought up the killing. The one thing Pinkie didn't want to think about, the woman brought up again. The one thing Pinkie had wanted to escape from. The one thing Pinkie had wanted to not hear. The one thing Pinkie was going to immediately deny.

Pinkie was about to reply to Wanda, but Sophie seemed to dash over and say that Trixie was… killed. No. No! Pinkie looked at Sophie and Wanda in desperation for them to believe her, yelling out, “NO!! No, no one died! No one! This is…” Pinkie shook her head, “This is all fake!! Unreal! N-none of this is really happening!! Mhm, m-mhm!” She nodded, thinking that everyone else was wrong now except her. They all thought she was dead... but she wasn't! She wasn't!

The only thing that kept Pinkie from doing anything was Wanda’s arms, which Pinkie now started to squirm in. The idea of murder really happening was getting to her, and Pinkie was trying everything she could to not believe it was happening right now. Trapped in her denial, she started screaming at Sophie and Wanda as she had done with the Monokuma's announcement earlier, although it wasn’t personal. She was simply panicking, as this had never happened to her before, and she has no idea how to cope.

“YOU’RE WRONG!! WRONG! THERE’S… NO MURDER! TRIXIE IS STILL HERE! I-I-I BET SHE’S IN THERE! ALIVE! SHE IS! SHE IS!!” Pinkie pointed at the cafe door, which held Trixie’s body inside. Pinkie could not grasp the idea of Trixie dead inside her head, so now she was accusing of Trixie being alive this entire time. Unfortunately, it would seem like Pinkie would keep on being in denial until she saw the body. That would most likely put the realism of the situation inside Pinkie’s head, but it would make her very much downtrodden. It was up to Wanda if she wanted to release Pinkie and let her stop her denial.

Menma groaned as the awful bear woke her up for the fourth morning in a row, her eyes were sore and her back still ached from the first day when that damn thing blew up.

She stood to get dressed, shooting a glance at Butters who was still asleep in his bed. She sighed before changing, fixing her hair, and heading to the restaurant.

As she looked over her peers, she quietly slipped next to Clem- the only one she felt any trust toward. She didn't feel very well, and there was a gloom over everyone- as there was something missing. She didn't eat, and she just followed Clementine around- going pale at Trixie's death being announced. Every day in this place got worse.

As she sat back- Menma heard her name tossed around, whispered, and almost, accusatory?

menma 3.png

"Hey, what the fuck?" She seethed, walking over to Claude and Alexander.

"That Sophie bitch too, why are you accusing me? I don't even remember who my partner is besides Clem, people being all over my dick asking if I'm okay has been going on for days- I thought Claude was one of those fake nice instances," she continued ranting, tears brimming her eyes; something that happened when she got angry, which she hated. She looked back at Clementine as if the girl could make everything go away.

"I've been here the whole time, and you've talked like I didn't even exist."

Kirei Kotomine

"Perhaps miracles truly are possible if even the maneater is willing to come to my defense, though it appears the matter of my innocence has been quickly quelled... for the time being," Kotomine said sardonically in response to Shinobu's remarks. He was dryly aware that his words by themself were hardly compelling enough to prove or disprove anything, but it seemed fortune was on the man's side this time as the rest of the guests quickly came to suspect others as the culprit.

He took a mental note of the others suspecting Menma and Sera in particular, but otherwise said nothing. The priest considered himself a meticulous man after all, and it would be too premature to even attempt any conclusions until all of the evidence had been uncovered, and judging from Clementine's words, they still had some avenues to uncover.

As he had just been speaking to Shinobu, Kotomine too noticed Sophie's presence, only for her to just as quickly vacate the room. Eyeing the jittery girl intently as she left, the priest then glanced over at Clementine. "A dubious child, isn't she? One would do well to keep an eye on her," he only said, though how much he meant that seriously was up for question.

With that, Kotomine was ready to follow Clementine and anyone else into the Laundry Room to further uncover the truth, until Menma made herself known to everyone with a fiery outburst at Claude and Hamilton, one that impressed even the unflappable priest.

"Yes, we've been quite harsh on the girl, haven't we? Judgment need not be inflicted so quickly, certainly not until we have all of the facts on hand," Kotomine nodded, his words laced with the intent of sowing discourse, but also intent on setting a precedent for restraint.

Just malleable enough should the need arise.

After all, if the wheel of fortune were to betray him and suspicion were to land upon him, he would want to ensure his own security.

"But there is no need for tears, girl. The Lord sees the truth in all things, and it is the truth we will find, if you are willing to... accompany us for our investigation. The laundry room, if you'd like," he said, making a mental note of one certain thing he found out of place now that he thought about it, but bided his time until he'd get a look at the laundry to confirm it.

Hallway > Cafe

Sophie sighed a shaky breath, before taking Pinkie's hand.

"You're gonna have to see this…" Sophie said. As far as Pinkie could tell, none of her words are lies.

Going back into the Cafe, Sophie brought Pinkie over to Trixie’s body. Gently bringing Pinkie down on her knees, Sophie curled Pinkie’s hand so that only two fingers were out.

Sophie brought Pinkie’s fingers to her own neck. Pinkie would feel Sophie's pulse, and her skin was warm to the touch.

"This… this is what a living person feels like," she said, her voice shaky.

Reluctantly, she guided Pinkie's hand over to Trixie's neck. Cold, lifeless, pulseless.

Dead.

"I'm… so sorry," Sophie said, shaking.

Cafe

"You guys do know there will be a trial later? Monokuma questioned, crossing his arms. Seems he never left the Cafe. "Leave all your backstabbing and finger-pointing to the main event! Then, let the paranoia take you over as you claw at each other's throats for for bear entertainment!"

"Ignore them, Menma," Clementine said, referring to Monokuma too. "We need to have all the info. I know what it means to jump to horrible conclusions."

Laundry Room

Clementine led the group into the Laundry Room, though was not sure what they would find, if anything. The room looked pretty usual and held a pleasant smell as if someone had done laundry somewhat recently. It took Clementine a moment to notice that one of the washing machines was out of the ordinary. A shirt that looked like Trixie's was hanging out of the machine, soaked. Inside was a pair of wet pants. Clementine pulled the pants out, only for an item to fall out of the pocket and on to the floor.

Judging by the design of the item, it was Trixie's tablet.

Day-Care Center

As Stiles began organizing the clothes, he made a few discoveries. First of all, most of the clothing was quite clearly Trixie's, though a few items were Sunset's. Many of these were wet. Also, hidden under the piles of clothes were a few hockey sticks, baseball bats, lacrosse sticks, and gold clubs. There were tiny spots of blood on at least one of each sports item.

Gift Shop

The Gift Shop was largely unchanged from before, containing many Monokuma's themed items. However, there was a new item added to the greeting cards: A monochrome picture of Trixie with the words Sorry For Your Loss.

It was not entirely clear if the card was meant to be joking or not.

"Sophie."
Wanda voice soft but clearly stern. Knocking Sophie's hand away from Pinkie, Scoping up the girl back into the Witch's embrace. Wanda's eyes narrowed. "What is your malfunction?" A deep, overwhelmed sigh echoed. "I get it, but where you begin at, Pinkie ends at." The words were cryptic, but they had meaning. "Let her calm down first, please? Just because you're right, doesn't mean you have to act on it. Not yet."

Looking down at Pinkie Pie, Wanda gave her a giant smile. "Do you want to go to my room? We can relax. Not think about things for a bit. Besides, I need to change, and i have all my costumes and clothing through all my years in that closest in my room. I might need some help finding the right clothing."

Stiles would start to organize the clothes and knew that it was pointless to point out that most of the clothes were Trixie's as it seemed that the girl was dead and it was weird though. He would text everyone. " Guys, I went to check out the daycare and someone threw around clothes of Sunset and Trixie, they are wet ..... It also looks like this is the place where someone stored all of the sports items as well. I don't want to cross containment so you guys should come in and see this, but there's blood on all of them" he said in his text.

Hamilton's countenance remained unchanged, even when faced with Menma who was on the verge of tears. Instead, he added to Kotomine's statement. "What the Father says," he began, mustering up a friendly smile. "Menma, your grievance is legitimate; I stand by what I said, every bit of it: Though 'suspect' does not mean guilty, and until proven so, you are innocent as far as the eye can see." Hamilton only caught the priest in the corner of his eye the days prior; his attire was the most familiar out of everyone, after all. But for now, his focus remained on the broad. "The only unforgivable act would be a lack thereof beliefs or stances, leaving us to only wonder what you're against or what you're for."

At the suggestion to head towards the laundry room, Hamilton found himself walking amid Clementine's group. It felt odd to follow a child as their acting leader, but she had a better head on her shoulders than even that damn Thomas Jefferson.

The laundry room, which still caught him off guard with how different it was to the laundry of the 17th century, was mostly the same if not for the victim's shirt being clumsily left in the open. While Clementine grabbed it and had the tablet fell out, Hamilton was the first to pick it up.

He tried turning on the tablet. And if that didn't work... he'd be confused and not understand that water and electronic devices do not mix.

Atsushi had stood from his seat just as the body announcement had chimed. Though Atsushi himself had froze up at the sound, it wasn't as similar to the sound he would usually hear back at the orphanage, but it had unearthed some unpleasant feelings within along with a few memories.

A man standing before him with his arms outstretched, a smile on his face. Was that the first time he ever smiled at him?

In one hand was a box, and Atsushi didn't know what was in it? A bomb? What if it-

"!!"

Startled slightly by the flood of texts coming into his tablet, he took a shaky breath as he focused on said tablet.

When he saw that Shinobu texted him amongst the text from others regarding Trixie's death, his brows furrowed.

The partner for Trixie was changed overnight. I suspect that Trixie's original partner, Sera, is the one responsible for this incident. Perhaps investigating their room may uncover something.

Frowning deeply as his eyes scanned over the text, his gaze lifted when he saw Sophie rush out of the cafe causing him to stop in his tracks momentarily.

Pinkie Pie

There was a lot going on and a lot to take in, but given Pinkie’s shouting...the bandaid had to be ripped off eventually and while he didn't like where this was going he couldn't help but sigh to himself.

"Wanda." Atsushi called, his voice quiet as his gaze went from Sophie to her.

"I don't think asking someone 'what's your malfunction' is really the right thing to do in this situation let alone...there's no way for some people to calm down in this situation either." He added. He was more than ready to try and help comfort either girl's if he could, though he wasn't all that great at it but he needed something to do with his senses practically overwhelmed like this.

"…"

Sophie paused for a moment, finally realizing what was happening. She must have made Pinkie feel worse. Oh god Pinkie must hate her now.

Tears welled up in the girl's eyes, "Right… yeah… sorry…" she said, remorse ever so present in her voice.

It was a strange feeling. Sophie felt like Wanda had no malice in her voice, just a stern voice made of genuine concern. She's known this before, but she couldn't feel it all.

Suddenly… memories started to come back.

Sophie, when she was nine, tried to steal a cookie from the jar, but her mom smacked it out of her hand. "Don't do that dear," she said, "It's not okay to steal".

Then, more horrifying images came to her. An image of her mother's face on a wall, but this time… it wasn't framed.

"Oh… god…"

She remembers walking alone on a summer afternoon, calling for her mommy. She was only fourteen.

"M-mom…" she muttered. It wasn't loud enough for Wanda or Pinkie or Atsushi to hear.

She curled up in a ball and started to weep into her legs. She didn't notice Atsushi's presence. She was scared. She was so… so scared.

The tablet would not turn on. Meaning, it was destroyed.

Clementine looked confused. "I thought it was against the rules to break the tablet?" Her mouth went wide. "What if--"

Her tablet lit up. It was Stiles. With a very odd message. Clementine shared a look with the others before moving on over to the next room.

Clementine looked at the strange collection of clothes and items. "Sorry... this is really confusing. I don't understand what happened here."
