Ubbe stood at Carmen's station frowning softly that evening. He'd been thinking about it all day trying to figure out how to fix the mess he'd made between them. He gave a heavy sigh before turning to look at her "I'd like for you to come to my office after your set. No funny business, just need to have a quick talk." He explained quietly to her.

Max frowned softly and nodded some "I'm sorry honey, don't drink big people drinks again though okay? Then you won't have a tummy ache." She explained before glancing back at Bill "You scared him, he wanted to make sure you were okay because you drank that drink." She explained

She frowned but nodded. “Alright.” She muttered, setting her bag down and frowned at him. “Your braids are shit. You want me to fix them?” She asked him seeing as he was there anyway and she didn’t have to be ready for another hour. Plus it had been bugging her all week.

She frowned and shook her head. “Then why are you here?” She questioned her, starting to look worried. “No! No you not allowed to be here! No! No more nannies! No more different ladies!” She shouted at her, starting to freak out

Ubbe chuckled a bit as he looked over his braids giving a small nod "Yeah....Amma hasn't been able to do mine. Margrethe she...she can't make them last." He murmured before he sat down

Max frowned more as Lilith started freaking out shaking her head "What? No Lilith,I came over and your dad told me he wanted to stay home." She explained looking back at Bill as Lilith started hitting at his legs 'You promised! You promised Daddy!' She heard her scream

Carmen rolled her eyes. “And you asked someone who can’t do that for you to marry you? I’m sure your mother greatly approves.” She muttered sarcastically, undoing the mess and starting afresh. It had been years since she’d done this for him and his hair was much longer now. She hadn’t expected the influx of memories it brought her. “The last time I did this…. Was for your 20th birthday…. And it was so cold my fingers kept seizing up and you held my hands until they were warm enough to carry on.” She reminded him quietly.

Bill frowned. “Hey no no no, that’s not gonna be okay kiddo, no hitting. Im keeping my promise. But max is here for when I have working from home to do this afternoon. That’s why I told her to stay today.” He told her frowning. “Im not dating her.” He promised.

Ubbe chuckled some "Kinda, I settled.." he murmured. He smiled wide at the memory giving a small nod "That was a good party, you looked so beautiful." He said as he watched her through the mirror sighing in content as he felt her fingers go through his hair and start to braid. She always relaxed him when she did his hair.

Max frowned deeply as she ran off still yelling and crying. She looked at Bill shaking her head some "Thats why they all left huh? You got in their pants and sent them on their way? Were you planning on doing that to me?" She asked feeling tears start to well up in her eyes this time.

She frowned some “And two days later I was gone. I won’t apologise for leaving. Or for not saying goodbye. I had to get out. But I’m home now.” She told him quietly. “Was it that blonde chick yesterday? Are you genuinely happy with her?” She asked him, going through at speed with his hair, finishing up and getting the leather ties in it for him.

Bill glared at max. “Sent them on their way? You are pretty fucking good at making snap judgements on things you have no idea about!” He yelled at her. “Out of the four sec had, two left of their own accord because they had jobs elsewhere. One didn’t ever show up again after seeing me for a week and the other decided that sleeping with me suddenly meant she could scream at my child every five minutes.” He snapped. “So get off your high horse and don’t be such a cow.”

Ubbe gave a small frown and sighed heavily giving a small nod "Yeah that was her. She can be caring and nice at times. Other times I think she only wants my money." He muttered quietly closing his eyes trying to relax.

Max frowned more as she listened to him shaking her head a bit "Right, sorry for that." She muttered before pinching the bridge of her nose "Listen, this isn't working nor will it work if we cannot reach some kind of agreement. I care for Lilith and I want to continue my job here, but if we are just going to fight all the time its not an environment she needs to be in."

She frowned and tugged at the pony tail gently to tilt his head back and get him to look at her "You should never settle... Why are you settling Ubbe Ragnarsson?" She questioned him, moving to get ready herself.

Bill glared at her "The only reason you are still here is because I promised her no more. I will not be spoken to the way you have been. So go home. Think about whether you want this job and then call me tonight." He told her seriously, turning around to go see Lilith in her room to calm her down. He wasn't gonna win world's best father anytime soon but he loved his daughter more than anything and if anyone was gonna try to make him feel like hell about it they had another thing coming.

Ubbe frowned softly as he looked at her "Because I'm getting older. I want a family...and the only woman who I truely loved more than anything had left." He said quietly watching as she got ready.

Lilith sniffled as she looked up at Bill when he came into the room "Where is Maxxie? " she asked quietly as he sat on the edge of her bed "Don't make her go away Daddy....I like Maxxie a lot. She my friend."

Carmen frowned and sighed a little "You don't know who else is out there Ubbe." She pointed out, finishing up and watched him stand once the other girls arrived "For the record... It was never because I didn't love you... You were the only thing that almost stopped me." She told him seriously

Bill sighed a little "She's gone home for today. I know you really like her pumpkin but I have to get on with her as well. Not date her, just get on with her. And right now, I'm gonna take you over to see aunty Amma and uncle hvitserk so I can go to work this evening okay?" He pointed out, sighing heavily.

Ubbe gave a small chuckle and nodded "I know that, and no one ever compared." He murmured before going over and giving her a small side hug "Thank you for doing my braids. The best they've looked in a while." He murmured before stepping out.

Lilith cuddled him some and got excited when he mentioned Amma and Hvitserk "Will Lulu be there?!" She asked excitedly as she watched him. She quickly got up and went to get dressed thinking it was time to go now when he said she would maybe be there "Lets go Daddy! Lets go!"

She sighed a little and watched him go, heading out to start work, just wanting a quiet night. Starting to miss Ubbe far more than she probably should.

Bill chuckled some. “Hold on kiddo, I gotta get stuff ready for work okay?” He reminded her, going to get ready and just glad she was doing better than the morning.

Ubbe sighed heavily as he amde his way to the back area. He ran a hand over his face just trying to think over everything and get his mind off of Carmen

Carmen worked most of the evening until the private party thst had been causing a ruckus spilled out onto the street as they were leaving. She pulled her coat around her a little tighter, waiting for her taxi when she noticed there were a few too many of them around her. All drunk and all much bigger than her, feeling the panic start to rise.

Bill smiled tiredly, getting everything together to go drop her off, taking her the moment he was ready and chuckled as she almost didn’t even say goodbye to him once she had seen Lulu in the apartment, heading for the night shift handover from Ubbe.

Ubbe frowned as Bill arrived giving a heavy sigh. This was the first night he was letting him have the club since he took over "Don't burn the place down." He muttered before going out. He frowned when he walked out seeing the men starting to circle someone "Hey! Why don't I get you men a cab." He said trying to keep things calm.

Carmen tensed a little more as they moved closer to her, almost pushing her behind them so they were stood between her and Ubbe, blocking her from view. Although she didn’t truly start to panic until another clamped his hand over her mouth and she could hear the others brushing him off

Bill sighed heavily as he tried to get his head around what Ubbe had done to the place, going through everything with the manager until his phone started ringing with maxs number. “Can I help you? If it’s not an emergency I’m at work right now.” He muttered, still a little sour from earlier

Ubbe frowned more as they started to get a little more aggressive in the way they spoke to him "Gentlemen, there is no need to get violent. But I do believe that you were trying to impose on a woman were you not?" He said before rolling his sleeves up "I cannot stand a man who hurts women." He muttered before stepping up to them.

Max sighed heavily as she dialed Bill's number. She had thought everything through and knew this was what she needed "Hey...sorry I can call back, its not an emergency but I wanted to speak with you."

The two at the front immediately blocked his path, pushing back on him while the one holding her yelled at them to just leave it, that she wasn't worth it, taking a switchblade from his pocket and stabbing her in the neck before dropping her and legging it with his friends as quick as he could.

Bill frowned some and sighed heavily, "Alright I got five minutes then I gotta get back to work, if it's gonna take longer then we should talk tomorrow." He told her, a little softer now but just sounding busy and stressed still as always

Ubbe went wide eyed when he saw the woman drop. He quickly rushed to her side and put pressure to the wound feeling his stomach drop when he saq Carmen's face "Carmen? Shit babe I got you okay? I promise." He said quietly before grabbing his phone with his other hand dialing 911

Max gave a small smile at his softer tone "I wanted to sincerly apologize. The way I spoke to you and have been speaking to you have not been professional or respectful. I want to keep my job, not because I need it but also I really do care for Lilith. So I was hoping we could maybe clean the slate and start a new?"

She was staring up at him terrified as she spluttered, soon passing out, completely unaware of anything past Ubbe's panicked face for the next several hours. Not worried about anything besides where her little girl was and what would happen to her if she didn't make it.

Bill sighed heavily but nodded "Apology accepted. That's probably a good idea. Hey I'm not working tomorrow anyway why don't we go out with Lilith, I owe her a lunch out from a while back anyway." He pointed out

Ubbe glanced over at Amma as she came in hours later "Thank you...shit I...I can't leave her." He said before hugging his sister in law tightly before looking over when he heard a little girl talking and his brother's voice.

Max gave a small smile and nodded a bit even though he couldn't see "Yeah that sounds great actually." She said softly biting her lip "I'll meet you around noon at the penthouse?"

Lulu was holding onto Hvitserk tightly, a little freaked out after they’d told her they were going to the hospital to see her mom, staring at the strange man sat next to her again. “No! You leave my mommy alone!” She yelled at him, pulling away and going over, hitting Ubbe’s leg over and over assuming he was why she was there.

Bill agreed and finally got through the rest of work before going to pick up Lilith and take her home to bed, letting her stay in his room for the night when she asked, feeling a little more relaxed about tomorrow now that he’d had a chance to speak with max

Ubbe frowned softly as he watched the little girl. He shook his head some before gently grabbing her hands to stop her "I didn't hurt her,I promise you I didn't. But I will find out who did." He said softly to the gir trying to calm her down.

Max showed up that next afternoon like she had planned and smiled some hearing Lilith playing behind the door. She waved softly at Bill as he opened up "Hi, she sounds to be in a good mood today."

Bill just nodded and smiled tiredly having been up most of the night and not much rest the day before. “Lilith! Let’s get going.” He called to her, “put Obi in the kitchen.” He reminded her and sighed a little going to do that himself before ushering her out the door so they could go get food, glad to see his daughter happy for once.

Lulu just glared at him with the same look carmen had, going back to sit with Hvitserk and held onto him tightly. “I don’t like him” she told him, pointing at Ubbe.

Hvitserk picked Lulu up to sit on his lap and chuckled softly at her "Yeah, he smells too...thats my big brother did you know that?" He asked her quietly trying to distract her from Carmen

Max smiled some at Lilith and took her hand as they walked to the car "So whats for lunch?" She asked watching Bill a bit
