Trevor Stewart and Spencer King
When Bruce asked to know what it was Trevor had to hold over Spencer, the man nodded before explaining. "Back in '79 I started up my own business in Watford, which I already told you about. By '81 I had some cashflow issues and I'll admit, Spence having paid me to disappear 12 years ago inspired me to go back to him for more. But that time, I sent someone to watch Spence and find some dirt on him I could use to squeeze more money out of him. I admit, it wasn't one of my finest moments!" Trevor said, holding out his hands and trying to reflect he wasn't proud of it.
"I'd say you've done worse," Spencer grumbled but silenced himself as he was keen to know what it was Trevor thought he had on him.
"Not worse than murder, though," Trevor seriously pointed out. After shaking his head in disappointment he shared his focus between the two men seated across from him. "16th September 1981, Spence murdered a bloke named Gregory Fisher and had three other men bury his body out in the woods."
"Cut the crap, Spence. We all know it happened. I have a photographs that put both you and Gregory Fisher at the scene of the crime at the same time. Not to mention, just one word to the cops about the location of the body and with your name put forward as the culprit, it would be enough to have them look into you. I can only begin to imagine what else they'd find about you and anyone else involved in your thuggish lifestyle," he assured Spencer. "And... If anything happens to me now, the information will still come out. I covered my back on that." Despite his confidence, Trevor faltered and pinched the bridge of his nose, his expression visibly softening to something seemingly genuine. "But I already said I don't want to do it. Even when I first found out what you'd done, I had doubts about going as far as to blackmail you. Then I had my accident, from which I got my act together, so I didn't want to cause you lads any more grief. And now, I don't want to do it either, but it's the only way I can secure my own safety. You both need to stay out of my way and let me get on with my life here. Everyone involved in this is a grown adult; capable of making their own decisions," he said, referring to Harper, Billy and Alex in particular. "That is my counter-offer and I believe it's the one that works out best for everyone involved - the one where we all get to continue living out our lives here in London."
