Seven Thousand Club
~James Edwards~
Somewhere In London | Sullivan Escape VanRemoving the bullet lodged into Tom's arm was done relatively swiftly. As it was done with no fidgeting, screaming or any of the sort, Edwards was left a little surprised by the young man's pain tolerance. The way he carried himself too was also like that of a well-trained soldier, which left the grizzled vet a little more or less puzzled because of young Tom was. Then again, the Irish Military was completely different from the U.S Military. That was something they could talk about another time though. Right now, the crew was on their way to a Safehouse. Edwards himself was relatively angry at how things went. Should he have shot Christian or Billy? Probably. But why didn't he? As he contemplated on this, Tom spoke up, likely in response to his comment on what had led to this outing in the first place.
If those were the same people that shot at him, Reina and James about a month ago, why not just waste them? By leaving empty-handed and letting those people live, including the Moretti Snake, Edwards felt as if the Sullivans were giving the Kings another opportunity to attack. While there was still a lot he did not know, he knew enough. Aside from being swept into a firefight with James and Reina, he also remembered that Sinead got stabbed and Liam was almost kidnapped. What led to that, he wasn't sure. But judging from what he overheard in conversations due to unintentionally eavesdropping, a habit he obtained from his war days, the closest he got to the root was one of Sinead's Daughters dated one of the Kings and they had a child together, and the Kings were dissatisfied with the child's new living arrangement. Because he didn't get any names, he couldn't place the faces. And half the things he heard came up in small talk, so overall, the SEAL-turned-Sicario was in the dark. But knowing things running that deep was likely a privilege, so in the end, he just left it alone. Unless Emery mentioned it in one of their conversations, he decided it best to not be nosey. As these thoughts rode through his mind, he straightened out his jacket before once more looking out the window, wondering what would be next for him.

Edwards scratched his beard before looking over at their respective guns. At the mention of things being way past their paygrade, he looked over at the young man with a straight face. "Then clearly we got a raise just to be here." He replied, playing along with the kid's joke.Tom said:“I mean, I’m sure the Boss had a good reason for it and s’all, but I think these Cockney’s claimed they were retaliating against something the Sullivan’s did. At least that’s what that bloke who shot me said. Shit like this, its deep, the reason shit like this started is probably way past our pay grade.”
Edwards folded his arms, before joining Tom in looking out the window. "If it was unintentional, I'd like some proof." At this point, he was pretty relaxed, but disappointed. "You don't just kill a member of the mob by accident. Unless it's a car crash or something, I'd wager he killed one of ours because he was scared after picking a fight with the wrong guy. And if he really didn't have the heart for this line of work, he wouldn't have been in Dublin to begin with." He said coldly. "Either way, I wasn't there when Aiden died, so I'm in no position to say anything about what happened." He added. "But the King's men did try to kill me, James and Reina during that attack a month ago. I wanted to return the favor properly, but I guess that wasn't in the cards today." Briefly, Edwards pulled out his Crucifix and looked at it. "Lord, forgive me for I have failed my family today. They trusted me...and I failed them."Tom said:“What I want to know is who actually did it, I’d put my money on the big’un. He’d have the strength to pierce deep enough to kill a man in one strike. I don’t think that other one could – though more surprising things have happened.”
“If he did do it, I’d bet my life it wasn’t intentional. He don’t seem to have the heart for it.”
