Fall of a New Utopia
"In 2015, the whole world started off with fresh new hopes and goals for themselves in bettering their being. It is now year 2021, late March. We have gone through these resolutions many a time since that year, but really, nothing has changed at all. Sure, there were improvements here and there, but advancement seems to have stagnated after the major discovery of 2018. Since then, many diseases have been all but wiped out and the human population is booming. Some are calling it the start of a Utopia - others are calling it our downfall.
But, what happened in 2018?
In 2018, Medical Professional Monty L. Paqs introduced a new super computer factory combination to the world, what he called "MultiNurse". "MultiNurse" - which, somehow got the nickname 'Nanny' - was a computer based operation derived on the basic fact that every living thing has a substance it is toxic to, including viruses. Even to this point, humanity had not yet figured out how to cure viral infractions, while for bacterial issues they simply chowed down antibiotics. MultiNurse, however, was the change of that. The processor in MultiNurse had access to a catalog of all known disease, and, given a blood sample, could identify all pathogens in a person's blood. If there was a unidentified disease, then it would automatically classify it, copy down its gene-code, and then one of it's several hundred secondary processors would learn all it could about that specific pathogen.
The machine didn't stop there. Using 6 different components - CC59ILL, COMP F, 89UTIL, a vial of needles and molds, and two separate inks - of which the formula are a secret, it could then formulate both a vaccine - for viruses - and medication, both antibiotic and antiviral. And all of this could be done within 24 hours. The common personnel had access to miniature versions, easily refillable by placing the proper metal canisters in when that ingredient ran out.
While this was all fine and dandy, there were rumors of a violent virus that morphs quicker than the computer can keep it, even changing during the time the computer picks it apart to study its DNA trails in 2020. The government has attempted to keep it a secret, since MultiNurse has brought a few years of peace as countries remain clear of disease even as far as Cancer and AIDS. Officials were nervous of the populous becoming scared, but they really should have be more worried about the disease itself. It seemed to move past any quarantine they put around individuals. It is expected to have started somewhere in Colorado, quickly moving along in America until it reached all around the world. Many (remaining) professionals today know it spreads through contact with saliva, typically through a deep wound or other such means. Basically, what humanity was now in trouble in was something that we know was a zombie apocalypse. Yes, this is an apocalypse Role-Play who has been blessed with none other than our old, brain eating friends. Wish to join?
