Fade to Black [Inactive]

Merek waited worriedly for a response from the tiger, but she seemed to be in too much of a daze to respond. Standing, he allowed a few other students to check on her as he glanced around. While there were several injuries, most of them weren't too terrible. However, he swallowed thickly at the sight of several dead students who had not made it. Looking away, he ordered everyone that was injured to go inside with him and left the others to keep watch over the Void's progress and bury the dead.

He had to admit, it felt a little strange for even the mentors to be taking his orders. It placed a heavy responsibility on his shoulders, one he wasn't sure he could handle. But, it seemed that at the moment he was one of the few that could.

Merek led them through the empty halls until they reached the infirmary. He stopped at the doors to let other's pass him, mentally taking note of each injury he noticed. Once the injured were inside, he started searching the school for Dahlia and Rin. He picked up his pace despite his aching muscles. Where could they be? They had to be alright somewhere...right?"

Finally he noticed the door to the library slightly ajar when he walked by. He stopped, looked inside, and sighed with relief to see them there. He walked up just as he saw Dahlia take out a needle and prepared to use it on herself. Well, at least she knew what she was doing.

"How are you two doing?" Merek asked, closing the door behind him.

I stood after I gained control of myself again. When I stood everyone around me stepped back, staring at me. One guy stepped forward and bowed his head to me before speaking. "You killed the giant!" I glanced around at everyone before speaking gruffly in a partially human voice "We all killed the giant. Together as we should fight. Take pride in your accomplishment and stand all because we won!" A moment of silence followed my little speech before it was replaced with cheers and yells of happiness. I pushed through the crowd which easily parted when they saw a huge white tiger walking towards them. I stepped into the school and sniffed around. Following Merek's scent to the library, I pushed at the old door with my huge shoulder to open it easily. Walking in I glanced up at everyone around before stopping next to Merek and tilting my head at the girl with the needle.

Dahlia glanced up in surprise as Merek and a giant white tiger came into the library, and almost dropped the needle. "You're safe!" She felt the urge to jump off of the table and hug Merek, but knew that it probably wasn't the best idea, considering her state.

She bit her lip and quickly stitched herself up, staring at the three little lines going across her stomach. Dahlia shook her head as she pushed up off of the table and tugged her shirt down. She walked up to Merek, giving him a quick look-over, questions shooting from her mouth a mile-a-minute. "How was the battle? Did you take the giant down? Are you hurt? What about the tiger?" She tilted her head towards the tiger curiously. Dahlia smiled, and waved awkwardly. "I'm Dahlia."

Merek smiled, but then winced at a small but unexpected twinge of pain in his cheek. He had forgotten about the minor cut in all the commotion. "We've finished off all of the ones that appeared. It took quite a bit of effort, but we all managed to take down the great beast. Other than the insignificant scratch on my cheek I'm fine. She's an ally that helped take down the beast." he answered each and every one of her questions easily and without hesitation.

Dahlia turned back to Merek and gave him a small smile as he answered all of her questions. She walked back to her box of supplies, and gestured to the cut on Merek's cheek. "Do you want anything for that?" She asked quietly, even though she wasn't planning on giving him a choice. Dahlia rummaged around in the box and pointed to the table. "Give me a minute to fix you and the tiger up, and we can head to the infirmary." She said with her back to the two. She turned slightly, brushing her bangs out of her face. "Now."

Merek blinked. Well, that had turned into a demand rather quickly. Dahlia's tone inferred that it was not to be refused. "Alright." he agreed, heading over to the table and lightly sitting upon the structure.

Dahlia smiled triumphantly, and moved to stand in font of Merek. He was a lot better at listening to her than Rin was. She brushed a thumb across his cheek, and made a face as she focused. The cut wouldn't need stitches, so she gave him some salve and a Band-Aid. "That should do." She chirped, and turned to the tiger. "Are you injured?" Dahlia asked as she retied her bandana.

I realized the girl asked me a question and shook my head. I shifted to my human form, thankful that I could do so while materializing a soft orange dress on me. As soon as my shift was complete I sat down on the table nearby and wrapped my arms around my midsection in pain. In my animal forms pain was usually not acknowledged or pressed through but humans were very keen to pain. My rib or ribs on the right side were broken earlier in the fight and had healed in the wrong way thanks to not being reset and my extreme rate of healing, also contributed by my mixed species. "C-cracked ribs. Healed wrong and too quickly."

Merek mentally winced as he heard her explanation. While he didn't know much about medical matters himself, he knew that when bones grew the wrong way usually that called for breaking and resetting them. It made him a touch nauseous just thinking about it. However, it was clear that she was in pain, and something would have to be done about it. He glanced at Dahlia, hoping that she would know what to do.

Dahlia bit her lip nervously, watching the girl. She thought back to when she was a kid, flipping through her mother's medical journals. Think, Dahlia, think. Broken bones that set wrong normally call for being broken and reset. But do I have the things to do that? She shook her head and turned to Merek."I know what to do, but I'm going to need a big bag of ice for the swelling." Fractured ribs couldn't be fixed with a splint, and were normally supposed to heal on their own, with a large dosage of pain killers. Dahlia wished that someone with more medical experience could help, but for now she'd have to do it herself. She turned to the girl, trying her best to look confident in herself. "Since the ribs healed wrong, we're going to need to break them and make sure that they heal correctly this time." She turned around to face Merek and Rin. "Are the two of you willing to help me with this?"

Cindia

I had a feeling that i would have to get my ribs re broken so that human part of me was okay if not a bit shaken. On the other hand the animal side of me was freaking out and growling inside of me at the thought of the guys hurting us. "I don't know if it will be safe for you guys to do this. My animal side is freaking out. Can we do it with me unconscious or sedated a bit?" I asked fearing for the guys and myself. I knew that if I injured the boys it would be serious and I wouldn't be able to forgive myself.

Merek had to agree with Cindia. He didn't want to risk him or any of the others getting hurt doing this. Since she also had animal instincts inside of her, there was a good chance that it wouldn't react well to pain. "She has a point. Do we have anything that can sedate her?"

"Sedatives, huh?" Dahlia's eyes traveled to the large box in front of her. She rocked back on her heels, going through her mental list of everything in the box and its purpose. "Heh, uh, no. If you're convinced that you need to be unconscious for this...well, we're going to have to do it the old fashioned way." Of all the things Grandmother packed, why couldn't sedatives been one of them?! Dahlia spun back around to face the large box, grabbing everything they would need. "One of you boys hit her upside the head so we can get this over with." Harsh, I know, but man am I tired. She swayed slightly as soon as she had thought the words. The blood loss must really be getting to me. I can handle one more little procedure though. Dahlia held the large diamond around her throat tightly, squeezing her eyes shut. Everything will be fine. I'll fix tiger-girl up, and go take a well deserved coma. I mean nap. She took one more minute to make sure she was stable enough to safely help them, and dropped the necklace. "Ready?"

Cindia

"Okay then no. Just crack them already." I stood up and walked over to the two guys hoping that one of them would hold me back while that other cracked them or something. I really didn't want a concussion. "I'm fine just do it so I can start healing." I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to calm my animal side down as well as my human side. Everything will be fine- I assured myself.
