Fantasy ~ FableWood ~

(Hey, I'm controlling the werewolf so let me control how he reacts to attacks and such, okay? :) )

Elena stayed down by where the fight with the wizard had been. After making sure Ward looked comfortable, her coat over him to keep him warm and one of her jackets rolled under his head, she began to zone out. Concern for those trying to get the chalice had not dissipated. Still, an exhausted Nyr and a passed out Ward were not to be left by themselves in a place such as this.

"I'm sorry I didn't help you as soon as I saw the blood, Ward.." She mumbled as if he could hear her, not minding if Nyr listened in. "I'm used to you being strong though. Not that you weren't.. It.. Felt funny to see you weak. I don't like it."

She breathed into cold hands and rested her head on her knees, watching the two companions.

(Night!!)

Leo smiled wide at Banba, "Alright." He was so inspired by her courage. He gathered his strength and he and ban a followed Luness. Upon entering the chamber the first thing he noticed was the obvious threat, the werewolf attacking Luness and the others. He watched as Quincy charged and knocked off the werewolf off of Luness. "lets help." He said to Banba as he reached for the small dagger and handed it to her once again. He set her down and armed himself with his ax. A simple attack as the were wolf slid to a halt, Leo charged the werewolf and attempted to bring the ax down on its large neck.

The werewolf yelped at the attack and staggered to the side before regaining its balance and snarling at the white horse before him. Seeing another one of her group members in danger, Luness ignored the pain across her body and scrambled to all fours despite the blood matting her fur and the broken ribs. Shaking her head to dispel a wave of dizzyness, Luness looked up in time to see the werewolf charging the horse. Snarling, Luness rushed forward and leaped at the werewolf, her teeth sinking into the back of its neck while her momentum dragged his head to the side and consequently tripped him.

The pair slid to a halt before the horse while Luness bit harder and harder, tasting the werewolf's blood in her mouth as her teeth dug into his skin and through his muscle. The werewolf howled in pain and quickly stood before shaking its body rapidly. It didn't take long for Luness to lose her grip and she then suddenly went flying to the side, crashing to the floor on her injured arm, which broke with a sickening snap. Sliding to a halt near a wall, Luness attempted to get back to her feet, but slumped back down when her injured arm couldn't hold her up.

The werewolf ignored the horse now and began to slowly limp towards Luness, snarling and foaming at the mouth. Seeing Leo approaching him from the corner of his eyes, the werewolf snarled at him and then looked back at Luness, deciding to charge her in order to avoid Leo's attack with his axe. Sprinting towards Luness, the werewolf let out a loud roar.

Quincy shied away from the scuffle between the two, unable to do anything in that moment. As she did, she saw something in the corner of her eye. Skidding to a halt, she redirected. The cup! She realized, transforming to her human form and dashing towards it, even though she didn't know what she would do when she got it. Her fingers closed around the cold cup, decorated with wolves, and she snatched it up, sloshing liquid over her hands. It tingled strangely in her skin, making her drop the chalice and spill all of the strange water on the floor. With a gasp, she picked the cup up again, looking at her companions with a little panic after her blunder.

(Bed time for me, goodnight guys!)

Mid-charge, the werewolf suddenly sensed someone nearing the chalice. Skidding to a halt, it turned sharply to the side and then let out a howl before it began to sprint towards Quincy. Time seemed to slow, as Luness shakily got back to all fours, looking up to see the werewolf sprinting towards Quincy. Nearby, the charm necklace that had been given to Luness earlier was laying on the ground, having been torn from her neck moments before Quincy had knocked the werewolf away from Luness.

Folding her ears against her head, Luness let out a pained whine, as the chalice's powers worked double time on Luness, due to her close proximity. Within seconds, Luness' body had doubled in size like the werewolf present. Snarling, Luness charged forward and looked at the ground before she broke the werewolf's charge by headbutting him to the side. All of the pain from her injuries were forgotten and replaced with a burning fury for this werewolf in the room with her.

The werewolf yelped when it was headbutted, flying into the wall nearby before crumbling to the ground. The moment it hit the floor, there was a sickening crunch, one of its hips breaking along with two ribs, one of which punctured a lung. The werewolf whined as it tried to stand back up, but was physically incapable of doing so now. Luness limped forward, her hackles raised while she hissed at the werewolf. Stopping at the werewolf's side, Luness paused and was about to lunge forward for the killing blow, but froze. Something was preventing her from killing the werewolf, but she felt it was impossible to know what while this raging fury overwhelmed her mind.

Suddenly, as the echoing sound of the chalice striking the floor sounded, the werewolf and Luness both froze in place, their eyes wide. A moment of silence passed and then the werewolf suddenly lunged at Luness and made to bite at her neck in one final chance at killing her. Seeing the move, Luness ducked down, but wasn't nearly fast enough to avoid the bite altogether. The werewolf's jaws closed in on Luness' left ear, tearing a decently sized chunk off of it. Yowling in pain, Luness stumbled backwards and then slumped to the ground as blood poured out of her torn ear, lying on her stomach. The werewolf spat the chunk of Luness' ear to the side and growled at Luness before it slumped to the ground on its side and facing towards Luness, also exhausted from the fight.

In the seconds that it took for Luness' ear to be torn, Luness' body shrunk back to its normal size and the fury overwhelming her dissipated. The moment her anger was gone, the pain from her numerous wounds hit her all at once, causing Luness to cry out in anguish. The werewolf's body hadn't shrunk in size, but it was now calm and in pain just like Luness despite it not crying out due to having a punctured lung. The werewolf was taking shuddering breaths now, barely moving as it lay there. Luness blinked away her tears and then asked the werewolf, "W-Who are you?"

Grabbing the Challis? That was going to be fun, Ashley thought. Oh well, she was sick and tired of just sitting there and doing nothing, perhaps she can assist at least in that. Looking down at her stomach, she gently caressed it before arming herself with her Bow. Things were getting pretty intense. Hopefully she can contribute more after this. But at least her Companions understood her limitations. But with all the chaos, it was hard to know your role, or at least that's what she thought.

Alexander watched the two fight, he didn't need rescuing- or that's what he thought, and did not like Luness taking away his fight. As he watched, waiting for an opening, however he realized there was more at play than he knew. This fight clearly was meant to be hers. He was about to attack when the wolf turned its attention to Quincy, but Luness took care of the threat. He kept watching, fire in his hands and muscles tense, ready for action.

Anya, too, watched the fight through a haze. She had trouble following, and was a little glad her weapons had disappeared- though she really wanted them back. After realizing she was useless in this fight, too, Anya thought maybe she should just go find her weapons. She tried to use her intuition to find them, but got only a foggy response. She wasn't yet sure how to control this ability, but she sat down outside of the door and tried a few things while the fight was happening. She eventually tried what she had tried in the fight with the werecreatures outside: she let her mind fill with the image of her with her weapons until it was all her mind could hold, she focused on the feel of them in her hands until she could actually feel them in her hands. When she opened her eyes and looked down, her swords were there. It was like what she had learned earlier, except this time rather than move herself, she brought something else to her.

As his attack towards the werewolf was easly avoided, Leo skided across the floor. His claws digging into the stone and ice of the castle, he was able to turn himself and ready for another attack. But the werecat in the party had already made a move. The fight was intense, like two completely feral animals fighting over a scrap of meat. It was hard to watch as one of his team mates was ripped apart by a creature that size. With weapon readied Leo watched, ready to make a move at any opening he could. He looked across the room and decided it was a better choice to defend than be offensive with the current events. When the wolf's back was turned, Leo dashed backwards and went into a defensive position besides Banba, Anya, and Alexander.

Banba stood where Leo had set her down, watching the fight intently, waiting for an opportunity to strike, but found none. The two werecreatures were tearing each other apart, and the shifter almost felt the pain for them.

She froze when the Chalice was dropped, something snapping in her mind painfully. She felt hyperaware of everything, taking in everything at once, overloading her senses. She blinked, slowing her breath to fight the sensation, trying her best to push through it. Luness had a chunk of her ear ripped off, Banba felt she could live through heightened senses.

Looking at the move towards the chalice, Zelnite decides to join in. After entering, he saw their opponent, a big werewolf. He was surprised by the size of that thing. Looking at his allies in trouble he decided that he would act as a distraction to give his friends an opening. Recklessly charging in towards the wolf, his sword ready at hand.

(No point in charging the already downed werewolf lol)

The werewolf blinked before wheezing and saying, "Bigby..." Luness' eyes widened at this, as her memory came back sharply with various moments when she had been with her mother growing up and her mother had referred to Luness' father as Bigby. Letting out a small whine, Luness said, "Y-You're my father?" Bigby frowned at this and then sniffed at Luness before his eyes widened in the realization. Bigby chuckled at this, though his laughter son turned into coughing and wheezing, "So, the...rogue daughter...returns to exact...revenge for her...mother's death." Luness hissed at this and tried to get up to swipe at Bigby, but only succeeded in sharpening the pain throughout her body. "You murdered her!" She snarled before whining and laying back down in pain. She then said to the group around her and Bigby, just to be safe, "Please, nobody kill...the werewolf, okay?" She needed to keep Bigby talking and if anyone was threatening him or attempted to kill him, then she'd definitely get nothing else out of him.

(Oh it was? Lol nvm then)

"Huh? Why? " Zelnite says. He wonders if it's still the chalice that made her say it or if it really was her, either way, he stopped and sat down, listening to whatever the werewolf has to say

Quincy, chalice still in hand, caught a few words between the two were creatures. Her eyes widened in shock. Her father is the werewolf Bigby? The kelpie stepped away from the pedestal that had held the cup, taking it with her as she moved to stand nearby Luness. There was enough distance to not interrupt the strained conversation, but she was close enough to come to Luness's aid if needed. Her eyes darted between the two downed animals, then to Alexander. Luness needed to be taken care of, but she also deserved some answers, from the sound of things.

Nyr mustered enough strength to stand up. Seeing that Ward was in the caring - nay, loving - hands of Elena she thought it would be appropriate to leave them be should it comes to... personal discussions.

" I go ahead and check on the others. " she whispered with a warm smile and shambled upstairs where the chalice was supposed to be held.

Alexander, too stepped nearer, ready to strike down the wolf if he was able to gather the energy to attack again. He felt intrusive, but Luness was pretty injured. While he felt no friendship towards the Lynx, he saw that she had helped them for whatever reason, therefore he would help her if the need arose. Though, Luness reminded him of all of the reason he hated cats, from what he had seen. Selfish, fickle, rude, and clawed. Or maybe those were his prejudices showing, he wasn't certain.

After catching her breath, Luness then asked Bigby, "Why...did you kill...my mother? Your wife?" Bigby growled at this, though his growl was cut off by more wheezing. Closing his eyes for a moment while he caught his breath, Bigby then opened them again and replied, "She took my only child away from me. A selfish decision that left me distraught. I thought you both had been killed before you were ever born." Bigby paused to catch his breath again, speaking was clearly a struggle for him at this point. "When I caught word that you two were alive and you had been born, I was furious. I made it my pack's top priority to hunt you two down." Meeting Luness' gaze, Bigby said forlornly, "I never meant to kill either of you..." Luness snarled at this and forced herself into a sitting position, sitting on her hind legs with her good arm braced against the floor in front of her. Shaking her head to dispel the dizzy spell, Luness then glared at Bigby and hissed, "Don't lie to me! I was only five years old...when you killed my mother...before my very eyes!" Tears began to stain Luness' face and stung her bloodied muzzle before she added, "I was forced...to watch you...kill my own mother!"

Nyr slowly made her way up to the chamber where the others were... and stopped at the sight of the colossal wolf. Her immediate reaction was to summon her new found power to attack it... but then decided against it once she saw Luness and the big wolf facing each other.

" Siblings? " she murmured in herself " No... the big one is too old for that... but then could it be...? "

She stepped back to observe the events which were soon to follow. It was Luness' fight and hers alone.

"Yeah, it's her father" Zelnite silently said so he wouldn't disturb the two. Walking towards Nyr then leaning on the frame of the door. "We wont be able to do anything I'm afraid, it's her personal problem. We should not interfere" Zelnite smiles. "I bet you would've known that anyway"

Leia sat on a hunk of ice, sword still embedded in the wizard's cloak, glaring at him dangerously. Her gaze flicked to Ward, lying injured under the cloak and Elena devotedly watching over him. Nyr had just gone upstairs to check on the others, they seemed to be taking their sweet time, she began to wonder if they were okay.

"You caused a heck of a lot of trouble." She said. The wizard looked up at her, malice still dancing in his eyes. For the first time sicne his capture he spoke: "I may be powerless now, but you will never be able to defeat the one who gave me power."

This peaked Leia's interest and she removed her sword to point it at the sorcerer's heart.

"And who is that?"

He grinned, crooked teeth flashing in the blue tinted light. Leia pressed the sword tip lightly into his neck. "Name. Now."

She was so focused on getting the information that she didn't notice him grasp something in his pocket. There was an explosive sound and Leia and the sorcerer disappeared in a thick cloud of noxious mist.

Leia stumbled back, coughing violently as the gas burnt her lungs. Through watering eyes she just made out his spindly form dashing for the gates.

"Aw crap!" She shouted and dashed after him. "He's getting away!"

Elena watched as Nyr left them. She looked to the unconscious Ward with some concern. She leaned over and checked his pulse once more, numb hands lingering on the warmth of skin. The sounds of fighting echoed through the halls. She wasn't sure anymore if joining would do anyone any good.

"Ward.. You've worked hard for us, huh?" Talking to him felt dumb, but nice.

An explosion interrupted her thoughts as she saw the wizard try to escape. Jumping to her feet, Elena opened the book and activated her ice control. The water refroze and lifted to block the exit. Elena took hold of her sword and used the handle end to knock him in the back and on the ground.

"My friend asked you a question." She said in a sadistic and icy tone, no longer shivering.

The wizard hit the ice-wall and turned around, frantically looking for another exit.

"Oh when she wants you to know, you will. My strength was just a drop compared to the torrent she has planned for you and the rest of you human scum." Just then he found it, a weakness in one of the ice walls. In a flash he dashed to it, throwing his shoulder against it and falling through as it gave way.

Leia watched him with surprise. "Remind me never to make you angry El," She said before starting after him.

There was a scream just beyond the wall and Leia scrambled through to see the sorcerer on his backside...staring straight at a pack of angry wolves.

"You're responsible for this?" Snarled one.

"Where's Bigby?!" Barked another.

The sorcerer said nothing for a while, a slight whimper escaping from his trembling form.

((@Lioness075 Bigby's pack can arrive upstairs whenever you want them to.))

Elena stared emptily at the pathetic wizard. All she could think of was those he has hurt. Nyr, Banba. Her eyes were cold and empty from any compassion for the soul. She shook her head before he could scurry away, and whispered.

"I hope fate finds you a punishment worse than death.."

She looked back at Leia and gave a good natured smile.

"Oh no! I'm calm.. Just not a fan of him." She allowed the rest of the wizard ordeal to be handled by Leia. She was strong enough. Wandering back to Ward, shivering only slightly, she attempted to check to see if he was yet in the land of the living. Being unconscious for too long is dangerous.

The pack downstairs was growing more and more restless by the second. One of the packmembers stepped up and grabbed the wizard by the collar before slamming him against a wall and holding him there.

Growling, the packmember leaned in close the wizard's face and said in a low tone, "I'm going to ask you one more time, wizard. Where. Is. Bigby?"

Upstairs, Luness felt herself visibly shaking while finally hearing her father's confession for what he did to her mother and Luness. Bigby's face contorted into that of a concerned expression and he said in a shaky voice, "Luness, it was a full moon the night that I found your mother and you. My anger was overwhelming me to the point where I wasn't thinking rationally anymore..."

Trailing off, Bigby began wheezing again and paused for a moment to catch his breath. Luness' good ear perked towards Bigby and she unconsciously held her breath, waiting to hear what Bigby would say next.

Meeting Luness' gaze, Bigby said softly, "I never meant to kill either of you. I just wanted to find you guys again. Yes, I hate werecats more than anything, but I loved your mother dearly...and...you've grown up to be such a strong and r-resilient werecat, Luness."

Bigby's eyes began to glaze over and his voice dropped to a whisper while Luness leaned in close to hear what he'd say next.

"I...wish I had gotten to know you better..." Bigby's eyes then widened and he began to choke before he suddenly went still, his whole body going limp while the life left his eyes.

Luness felt tears flooding down her face as she shouted, "No, father!" She then lurched forward and took Bigby's head into her arms, hugging him and crying out for losing her last family member. She had just aided in killing her own father.
