Fantasy ~ FableWood ~

Elena found the beast easy to defeat. What she didn't expect was the area she found herself fighting in surrounded by more creatures. Some dread ravens and other inky looking bat creatures surrounded her as if they were waiting. Luring in whatever they could.

Elena's energy was being spent on supporting the barrier around the main area. She couldn't do too much more than what she was already. They attacked and her eyes slid shut tightly. She saw exactly what she wanted to do within her eyelids and her hands moved like she was writing. Dropping to her knees, the stone beneath her shifted upward and engulfed her back and shoulders. The earthen form became gargoyle like wings with claws.

The arms or wings of the beast swept around her in protection, claws hacking at the creatures which ambushed her. When it was in the clear, the beast she created refroze, looking like it was from the balcony of an old castle. Elena gasped for breath and stop slowly again. The wall became easier to control as well. It was like a refreshing hype in her power.

'I would never mind. Keep yourself safe, and hold on tightly. I would hate for anything to happen to you.' Alexander thought back at quincy, diving quickly at another raven and trapping it's neck between his mighty jaws and tossing it to the ground. He caught himself again in the air, and skidded out of the way of an incoming attack, letting his tail end turn faster than his front until he had done a full 180.

'Why do you fight?!' Alexander thought out, in his native tongue any who read minds could hear the question- including all of the dragons.

Anya fought through demons trying to get those still outside of safety back to it.

Luness led her pack through the city, doing what they could with the element of surprise against unsuspecting foes. She soon skidded to a surprised halt along with her pack when they came across a minotaur.

Luness had never seen one in person and she was not entirely sure of how to defeat such a beast. It didn't take long for it to smell the were beasts though, and it soon was roaring and charging at Luness while brandishing a large axe.

Yelping, Luness dove to the side, her pack scattering as well. They soon regathered behind the minotaur and Luness narrowed her eyes at the minotaur, as it turned around and aimlessly charged at the bunch before they easily dodged it once more.

It didn't take long for Luness to get an idea and she quickly hissed orders to her packmembers, "Everyone, spread out. Keep this guy angry and charging. Whoever isn't being charged at, go for his legs. We need to slow him down, okay?"

The packmembers all nodded at the instructions and spread out in a semi-circle behind the minotaur. When it turned around, it let out an irritated roar at the group that was now spread thin. Charging at the nearest packmember, the minotaur was oblivious as Luness leapt forward and swiped at the back of one of the minotaur's knees before dodging out of the way when the minotaur swung backwards with his axe to take out Luness. In the midst of this action, the minotaur lost balance and went crashing to the ground. It only took seconds for the packmembers to leap in and out, taking heavy swipes with their battle claws at the minotaur while avoiding his attempts to attack.

Despite all of this, the minotaur managed to knocked aside one of the packmembers with the flat side of his axe, dazing the werewolf. Falarion quickly clamped his jaw onto the handle of the axe and began trying to pull it out of the minotaur's grip. All the while, Luness rushed to her packmembers side, sliding to her knees and then quickly looking him over. Other than probably having a black eye when this was all over, the werewolf was going to be fine.

Hearing a roar of anger, Luness whipped around to see her remaining packmembers surrounding the minotaur and snarling at him while jumping in and out to take either bites or swipes at the beast. Falarion had managed to steal away the axe, though his mouth seemed to be bleeding a bit from the endeavor.

Leaping back to her feet, Luness hissed at the packmembers and Falarion to drive them back from the minotaur, which had clearly found his way to death's door at this point. He was slowly bleeding out, though Luness had no doubt that he had been driven mad to attack in such a frenzied manner. Most of the beasts here most likely were not fighting of their own accord. With this in mind, Luness knelt at the minotaur's head and then swiftly clawed out his jugular, giving him a quicker death than bleeding out from the various wounds across his body.

Standing upright, Luness regarded her pack for a moment, taking in the sight of the injured packmember, who was now back on his feet and ready to go back into the thick of it. Nodding at him, Luness let out a caterwaul and her pack howled in response, all of them dropping to all fours and then sprinting through the shadows of the city once more.

Ward connected with a dread raven, swinging his hind legs up and into the creature's stomach winding it. And angry beak snapped inches from his face and he twisted in the air, hurling it to the ground while catching the wind in his wings once more. He batted enemies with his wings and struck them with balled talons. Suddenly he spotted a lone figure surrounded by converging enemies on the ground. Ward stooped, scattering a pack of goblins as he landed on top of them.

"Ward!"

"Prince Fior!"

The prince removed his helmet and looked up at his friend. "So Briar did manage to get through to you, we were afraid the spell may have been tampered with."

"I came as soon as I was summoned."

"Ward..." Fior took the gryphon's massive head in his two hands. "I've seen you fighting, you are holding back."

Ward gave him a saddened look, "I-I'm afraid, afraid I'll turn back into...into what I was before."

"There are times in our lives when he have to be monsters my friend. If we don't stop the dread raven army here, they will destroy everything we love."

Ward thought about this, he pictured Briar, all of the friends he had made, then Elena's face appeared. Everyone was fighting their hardest...Ward felt a protective surge course through his heart. No one was going to hurt those he loved.

Fior smiled as a guttural growl rumbled inside the gryphon's chest.

"Climb on." The gryphon said and Fior obeyed.

Up they soared, back into the fray. A dark knight riding a scaly winged creature had beaten down a dragon fighting to protect a group of frightened children. Fior yelled a battle cry as Ward stooped. Talon connected with talon and Ward's beak sunk through armoured scales with a sickening crunch. The Gryphon twisted his head and felt bone snap. He let the creature fall even as Fior had run its rider through. The taste of blood made him gag, but there was no time to recover for they were set upon by even more foes. This time Ward fought with ferocity, making each attack swift and deadly, all the while keeping his friends in his mind. He had to protect this place.

((The armour can take any shape Banba can @Jecklyn ))

Nyr flew high into the air and as soon as she did so a dread raven dashed at her. Easily dodging the charge she decapitated her opponent with the scythe and her opponent's lifeless body plummeted earthward. She looked at the outskirts of the city and her heart sank upon seeing the massive destruction.

Raising her weapon to the sky she closed her eyes.

" Mother Moon, protect us from the darkness! Let we may see your light again an another night! " her weapon and armor shone if white light as even the red sky parted to allow the goddess to bless the defenders. With renewed fervor she dashed after her fallen brethren, cutting them down one by one. Still as they fell before her newer and newer ones rose to assault them.

Scouting the city with the help of the winds she returned to the others.

" The main bulk of the army seems to march in the streets of the outskirts but they are the least of our concerns. The dark wizards are working on weakening the barrier but they are outside the city along with the siege weapons. Also I know not how to put those damned dragons down - infused with the shadow they are much stronger than I anticipated. "

Rose was tussling with a huge black dragon much bigger then her. It had her shoulder in its mouth and Rose was roaring in pain. She tried to claw at it but the angle was wrong and she couldn't reach. The dragon released a sort of shadow poison into her that made her wound burn increasing the pain. Rose roared and they crashed into Ward. She was still clawing at the black dragon trying to find a weak point as her wound slowly turned black from the poison...The black dragon keeping its grip on her shoulder so it could inject as much poison as possible. Then a small white dragon a little smaller than Rose came and attacked her other side, biting down on her neck. Rose bite and clawed viciously in no general direction she just needed the dragons off. She had blood gushing from various wounds and her roars where now earsplitting, and of pure agony...

Elena took cover momentarily after the incident, unsure of how exactly she was able to create the mass of stone and steel into a creature without the drawing. Flipping open her book, she saw a drawing of the same gargoyle in her penmanship with a faded metallic ink. Not from her own pen. Not wasting time to question the odd occurrence, she attempted to recreate the creature for its use.

As expected, a faceless gargoyle started melting upward from the stone. It's wingspan vast and web by with metal like scales and tipped with large clawed fingers.

Elena saw from its face and her own at once. She could see everything from every bundle of vineyard wall which surrounded the inner area of the city. It felt strange, powerful. She jumped onto the back of her creation, it's body molding to lock her feet and legs securely. Under Elena's command it kicked off the ground. It's heavy body moved fast and strong like a bullet in the smoke filled air.she closed her eyes, flying into a pack of dread ravens.

It's winged arms moved to slash the creatures out of the air. Elena did the same, eyes closed, sharing consciousness with her creation, enough to not feel sharp talons drag across her inner arm but know to kill it.

Leo helped as many as he could, but the wave of people that continued to flow into the grand hall was growing. The guards began to shepard them away into the tunnels beneath the city to help them escape, but Leo was unconvinced. If the threat outside was not stopped, they would not be safe anywhere they went. He finished mending a young girls leg and went to the old healer that had come with them. "I must go, continue to mend those who need it and get them to safety. Make sure you get yourselves to safety as well." He did not wait to hear the old woman's reply. He ran through the great doors and out onto the streets of the city. The burning red sky highlighted the war above, and the screams of the city was evidence of the war below. He could see a few of his companions battling their way through the invading forces, and he knew he needed to aid them as well. He rushed down the stairs readying his ax as he headed for the first dread raven he could find. It didn't take long, he found one that was cornering a few villagers in an ally. He skid to a stop and ran down the ally with the ravens back turned to him. HE made a quick jump to the left, his claws gripping the wall until he jumped to the right onto the other wall much higher than before. Finally he jumped straight into the air with his ax drawn over his head. With the force of his falling momentum he drove the ax downwards, crushing the dread raven under it. The villagers stared until he stood and swung his arm around motioning to the end of the alley "Head for the great hall, they will get you to safety." They did not hesitate, and Leo was close on their heals until they reached the end of the alley and headed for the castle. Leo darted deeper into the city, keeping his one good eye open for any more of the attacking forces.

Anya did much more dodging and running then actual fighting, though she had her weapons drawn and followed their instructions when she needed to defend or attack. She was focusing on finding those in need, and her newfound ability was working too well. It seemed everyone in the city qualified as 'needing help' and her head was spinning and in pain. Her mind was pulling her in every direction, and telling her she was exactly where shee needed to be, yet miles away. It seemed that was not the thing to focus on, but now her head was spinning, and making it hard to change her focus.

Her head soon started to clearof confusion and pain as her intuition picked up who specifically to focus on. Within the matter of a second everything in her body told her that she exactly where someone who needed help was, but she was the only one there.

That's when she felt why: a blade of steel was thrust through her side, through a hole in the little bit of armour she has dawned. Luckily it seemed to miss anything vital. She froze, the pain taking a moment to register, and then she cried out. The sound was not as much of a scream as it it was a whimper- a very loud whimper. The deamon creature which stood behind her grinned wickedly, but this was not something Anya could see. She didn't know how she would do this, or what she could do. She preyed that demon didn't have another weapon. And tried very hard to focus on nothing but living. It seemed her intuitive knowledge didn't seem th extend to what to do in battle- she had learned this in a previous fight with were creatures. However her other ability did.

To the deamon creatures great surprise, the blond girl he had skewered dissapeared from in front of him. He looked around frantically, searching for where his enemy had vanshed to. Behind him! He heard her breathing! But for he deamon, the realization came too late

Any appeared behind the demon and tried to quiet her ragged breathing long enough to attack. She followed the guidance of her dagger, and with two clean sweeps decapitated the creature.

Alexander saw the younger dragon taking some major hits, he dove in and let his talons latch onto the face of the larger dragon who was biting Rose, blinding him and causing the black dragon to let go as it screamed in its own agony alex turned- quincy still on his back- to free rose from the white one long enough for her to escape.

Once dropping the raven, Banba turned in mid air, looking for her next target. She soon found that she didn't need to, as a group of bat-like demons had surrounded her. She glared around, lips curled back, showing blood dripping teeth. The group attacked, and Banba shut her wings, letting herself drop under them, only to open them to catch the wind again, speeding off. She aimed for their wings, turning once in a while to tear holes in the membrane and push them to the ground. There was one left when she turned, but not fast enough, and the demon gripped her own wing. Panicking, Banba retracted the wings back into her skin, only to cause the demon to rip all the way down it. Banba dug her claws into the demon's face, gripping it's wing. The pair dropped, and banba let out a growl deep in her throat, doing her best to turn mid- air so she was on top of the demon.

"Do not worry, as bats have echolocation." She said just before the two connected with the ground. Banba staggered up, feeling the blood run down her back. She had rips along her back now, as if she were hit there instead of the wing, despite her armor. She looked to the bat demon, laying still. She spat, rubbing a hand across her cheek as she walked away, searching for her next target.

Nyr beheaded a raven trying to attack her from behind as she scoured the city for survivors. The others have already rescued plenty of people but there might have been still more. As she flew around she felt an immense force of darkness around her - one of the arch demons no doubt. She descended from the sky and tried to look at the place where she sensed the power from.

A giant, slender demonic figure walked calmly up and down, commandeering the forces like if they were nothing but toys. A dark sadistic grin as on his face as he watched the innocents being slaughtered - and also his own soldiers. Each death seemed to fill him with a sadistic pleasure be it friend or foe - it seemed as of he were feasting on the souls of the fallen.

Nyr then felt an overwhelming rush of pain in her mind a she screamed in agony, falling on the ground. Now she felt the immense gaze of the arch demon on her as she was floated from the ground flying towards the dark general. When she was but mere inches from the gargantuan demon her body stopped moving as the dark creature inspected her.

" Welcome, raven, to your rebirth. I will correct the mistake of your life - you will be reborn in the flames of darkness just as your brethren did... "

Rushing along, Luness' enhanced hearing soon picked up the sounds of a child crying out for help.

Leading the charge, Luness charged at the house that the crying came from and wasted no time in lowering her head and charging through the door, breaking it down upon impact. Shaking her head to clear it of dizziness, Luness looked around the house to see a young gryphon cowering in a corner of the room. Looking back at her pack, Luness quietly ordered all of them to stand guard outside except for Falarion, who would stay in the house to make sure nobody was already in here and that nobody came in to attack anyone.

As the packmembers exited the house and Falarion walked into another room to check for enemies, Luness slowly walked up to the child, again grateful that her new armor hid her injuries, which would've probably just scare the young gryphon further.

Kneeling down near the crying gryphon, Luness said softly, "We're here to help you, young one."

The gryphon shot to all fours, his eyes wide in terror, with his face soaked with his tears. Staring at Luness with her armor that hid most of her features, the gryphon said in a shaken voice, "W-Why should I trust you?"

Luness didn't bother attempting to smile since it would foreign on her and only scare the young gryphon further. "Because I'm one of the good guys," she said while trying to keep her tone calm and collected despite the chaos surrounding them currently.

Looking up at the sound of claws nearby, Luness saw Falarion returning from his investigation of the home and he subtly nodded, signaling that they were all clear for now.

The young gryphon looked up at Luness doubtfully, but upon hearing a scrabble outside and roaring, he shrunk back into his corner again, whimpering in fear.

Luness looked sharply at the young gryphon's sudden movements and then said urgently, "We need to get to the castle before this place is overrun...?"

The gryphon shook his head in fear and seemingly tried to make himself even smaller.

Sighing, Luness tried a new tactic, "Look, you need to be brave right now. Bad guys are surrounding us and want to hurt us. If you come with my group, then we can protect you and get you to the castle before everyone is evacuated."

The young gryphon sniffed at this and then said, "My daddy was brave earlier. He went out to fight...but I haven't seen or heard from him since. If I leave, then he may not be able to find me again." His eyes welled up with tears again at the thought of this and Luness winced at the sight of the fear and strong emotions overwhelming the young gryphon.

Luness heard the fighting outside of the home building in intensity and said quickly, "Your father should know that we're evacuating people through the castle. If you're not here then he'll know where you went. We need to go, now!"

The young gryphon was hesitant, but then nodded and put on a brave face before joining Luness' side, even allowing her to pick him up.

Luness shot to her feet and then shouted at Falarion as they ran for the door, "We need to get back to the castle, now!"

Falarion nodded and was about to bark orders when the got outside, but he froze in shock instead.

Luness quickly joined his side and then understood why he was frozen in place. Just outside of the building, a large, ebony dragon had landed and killed one of their packmembers, whom now lay in a bloodied mess off to the side.

Snarling at this, Luness called out to the remaining packmembers, saying, "Move out, now! To the castle!"

The pack reformed around Luness, and then they all dropped to fours, sprinting away from the raging dragon that couldn't follow them when they squeezed down an alleyway nearby.

Luness helped the young gryphon to her back, where he clung on for dear life and closed his eyes in fear of seeing the horrors around them.

As they sprinted along, Luness quickly assessed the injuries of the remaining packmembers and saw that several had deep gashes and one had a dangerous bite in his side. The one with the bite wound seemed to be losing a lot of blood and Luness quickly ordered Falarion to help the injured one along until they could get to the castle.

Upon arriving in the gardens, Luness skidded to a halt and then let the young gryphon jump off her back, though he slinked behind Luness, suddenly fearful of what lay in the castle. Luness huffed at this, but decided against shoving the gryphon away from her, so she let him follow her and her pack into the castle.

Standing up on her hind legs, Luness quickly joined her bitten packmember and with Falarion's help, they walked the injured member inside along with the other two members that had several deep gashes along their arms and legs. Looking around sharply, Luness soon spotted Alta in the thinning crowd and cried out, "Alta, my pack needs your aid!"

Rose squirmed away from the white dragon and kicked it on the face. She was to exhausted to stay flying and she began to fall helplessly to the ground. On her way down dragons rammed her causing her to get bruises and she landed crushing a store right in front of Leo. She wasent moving and was bleeding badly the black dragons bite had turned her whole shoulder black and it hissed as it the blood was evaporating away. She could barely keep her eyes open and coughed blood. Demons swarmed her and began attacking.

@zCrookedz

Elena and her gargoyle continued beating off dread ravens and demons. Elena could not feel any injuries thankfully. She didn't feel tired anymore either. It felt as though a sweet and thick hot energy was coursing through her body and connecting her with her flying stone creation. She swung her sword strongly at any non ally or citizen attacking. She was aware of blood on her skin and a crushed feeling in her dominant arm under her guard.

Looking from the gargoyles perspective, she saw an injured Rose. Getting picked at by demons. She swooped downward and lifted an arm in command. Vines of rubble lifted and covered rose for a moment as thorny branches of it repelled the creature. The arms of the gargoyle and her sword itself finished them off without mind for any attacks on her.

"Leo! We have a situation."

She couldn't stay for long so she allowed the viney barrier to release the dragon girl and flew off.

Quincy smiled to herself despite the chaos around them. The kelpie continued to fire arrows at dread ravens that dared to come near them. His quick move to save Rose caused her to grab onto the rope on front of her, tucking an arm under it. Flying like this was exhilarating, but she knew how dangerous it was. She let a few arrows fly, clearing away a few attacks as Rose fell. This is so bad. She thought, feeling fear for the city twist in her gut. A dragon glew over them, stretching a talon down toward her. Instinctively, she shot it, catching it in the wing. Its flight took an immeidate detour to the ground. She felt guilty instantly; it must be like stealing her ability to swim. God Im so sorry. Swallowing her emotions, she drew back the bowstring and searched for another threat. Her gaze found Nyr, struggling with some unseen force. Nyr needs help! She thought to Alexander, tapping his scales on the side he needed to turn to.

Leos run through the town was abruptly halted as he watched the young drake Rose fall from the sky and crash into the store infront of him. He was a few houses away and already the enemy was beginning to move in on her. Leo sprinted down the road, waving his ax wildly through the air as he connected with each creature that got in the way. Finally he made it to the pile of wooden splinters and rubble that was once a store. The demons that had closed in on he Leo quickly dispatched with his ax. Looking around quickly he did not see anymore immediate dangers so he vaulted himself into the pile of debris and began pushing wood off of Rose. He found her massive head and slid open her eye lid, the pupil reacted to the light if just barely. He placed his hands on her body and examined the wounds. The shoulder was the worst, something was eating away at her body's tissue. Leo gave Rose a reassuring pat on her flank "Do not worry Rose, this may sting a bit, but i should be able to heal you." He closed his eye and placed his hands together. "Oh great forest spirit, i call on you directly. Lend me you strength to heal he friend in need." The power began to flow through Leo as he opened his eye, now solid green. His hands began to glow green with the magic of the forest and Leo placed his hand directly on the wound from the black dragon. The skin began to hiss even more, and there was even a tiny bit of smoke from the dying poison. It took several moments before the black receded from his skin and the muscle and tissues that had been lost began to reshape themselves. After another few seconds the wound was mended and the poison erased from Rose's body. Leo took a few more moments to examine the rest of battle injuries and heal them as well. Before he was finished he placed his hands on the dragons face, and let the energy flow into her so that she would be able to regain the strength she had lost and could continue on. Leo stepped back, but held onto the connection with Lilly. Turning to Elena he gave her a glance to make sure she was not seriously injured as well, "We should find Nyr, these are her people are they not? Maybe she has devised a way to stop them?"

@Wild Born @Bea Delaine

With her scythe on the ground Nyr was completely defenseless against the will fo the arch demon who assaulted her mind with dark thoughts. Her anguished cry reverberated through the nearby streets, but her malevolent tormentor did not seem to care.

" Your will is strong, I give you that. " he smiled " But it just makes things more interesting, nothing more. "

She watched in horror as the darkness started creeping over her body, slowly enveloping her in the dark madness as her former kin. Her feet were already consumed by it and it slowly crept through her legs. She felt the dark rage, the maddening whispers for greatness - and she was unable to fight the shadow...

Rose winced at the healing of the black dragon wound as nothing else comoared to its pain. When she was all healed and the energy flowed into her she stood up and roared to the sky breathing fire at the clouds, she was radiating a healthy heat from her heated core that fueled her fire. She nodded to Leo and Elena and watched hrr fly off " Thank you, I don't know what I would have done with out you guys ". She extended her wings and knelt down offering a ride for Leo.

@zCrookedz

(Leo could use a lift, seeing as how most of the fighting is happening in the air.)

Leo bowed to the dragon, admiring her fire breath. He looked around once more for anything else that might need help, but only saw the bodies of the demons. He heaved his massive body into the air with a quick jump and landed on Rose's back. He clutched his legs together and held on tight with one arm, while still wielding his double bladed ax in the other.

@Wild Born

Rose launched into the air with in powerful wing beat. She flew higher and higher with every flap of her wings. Flying over the kingdom you could see all the wreckage, it was devastating. She looked to the ground looking for anyone from their group.

Alexander turned toward the direction Quincy suggested, searching for where Nyr lay. When he saw her he dove towards her. 'Any ideas on how to stop the shadows?' Alexander thought to Quincy. 'I doubt it is such a simple darkness that the mere light from my flames will banish it. I would suspect it requires something stronger.' Alexander landed near Nyr, and let loose a concentrated stream of fire towards the Arcdemon, 'Back away.' Alex warned the creature in his mind, a harsh edge to his voice. He did not usually threaten, but it did not take much for a dragon his size to be threatening. He roared, loudly for emphasis, and hoped Quincy would have a better plan for helping Nyr than he did.

@Flutterby @DawnAntalios

Anya, meanwhile, stood still where she had decapitated the demon in front of her. That ability took less out of her than last time, but her side was in pain. More pain than she had ever experienced before. She didn't know what to do now, but judged that from the amount of blood she was losing it would be a bad idea to run around, she needed to stop the wound from flowing, for that she needed bandages of some sort. She looked around, and knew where to go.

She was not fast, but she made her way to what had been a sort of infirmary for the sick and injured. Inside she found that most of the people who had been there were evacuated, thankfully. She pulled the light armor she had chosen to wear off, and found something to use to wrap around the wound and stop the bedding. Thankful for her jeans beneath her dress, Anya pulled her dress up high enough to get to the hole in her side. The sight of the wound was enough to make Anya feel as though she may get sick, she had never been around severe injuries- broken ankles and wrists, or huge bruises from sports sure, but not battle wounds. She was able to dress the wound to at least curb the bleeding, though it was clearly a job done by someone who didn't really know what they were doing, and turned to head back out to help others.

The darkness now crept on the body of Nyr, moving upwards ever so slowly, almost suffocating her.

" No... flee... " she told Alexander, gasping for air. But it was late since the demon already noticed him and raised his hand to deflect he attack easily.

" Wait for your turn, gnat. I will conduct your ascension right after I am finished with this one. "

He snapped with his fingers and raised four shadows to deal with the intruder as he continued the ritual.

Leo scanned the area from up top of Rose. It was a very good view and he could see the battle much clearer from there. He watched and Ward and the prince made their way through the forces, tearing through them like paper. He also Luness and her pack heading into the grand hall, he hoped that they were all ok and no one was seriously hurt. After a few moments of scanning the area Leo spotted Anya making her way around. He watched, his cat eye focusing to try and get a better view of her. She was moving oddly, and didn't seem to be leaving what looked like a make shift shelter for those who were injured. He patted Rose on the side and pointed his ax downwards a few houses from Anya, "I think Anya might be in trouble, can you get us down there?"

@Wild Born

After dropping off her injured packmembers, three out of the seven, Luness led the other three and Falarion back into the fray of things.

It didn't take long for Luness' enhanced hearitn to pick up the anguished cry from Nyr near the edge of the city. Wincing at the pain from the cry, Luness narrowed her eyes and then began sprinting through the streets at her top speed, almost leaving her pack in the dust as they scrambled after her.

Arriving on the scene, Luness' eyes widened at the growing darkness threatening to consume Nyr's body and probably her mind too. Hissing at Falarion and the three packmembers to attack the four shadow demons, Luness weaved past them and skidded to a halt at Nyr's side.

Looking her over frantically, Luness said, "Nyr, it's Luness. How do I stop this?" Despite their last conversation ending sourly, they were in the midst of battle and Luness wasn't about to watch one of her group members perish. Not after what happened with Bigby.
