Fantasy ~ FableWood ~

Zelnite went to approach the new guy. "Hey, the name's Zelnite, you're Ethan, right?" He smiled, trying to brighten the mood for the new guy, he looked like he was troubled.

She ran up to Nyr and hugged her, her warmth probably comforting "Don't do that again or I will throttle you." She whispered sarcastically.

"Oh its easy." Leia replied to Ethan's concern over the sword. "The pointy end goes into the thing trying to kill you."

Her expression fell as the wall of ice engulfed Nyr. She leaned over the side of the cabin in time to see several of their friends rush to her aid.

Ward had landed there as well to make sure Nyr was recovered safely.

She relaxed and put a hand on Elena's shoulder.

"Hey, its over...we're safe for now."

Slowly she leaned down to Luness, ripping a piece of her tunic to staunch the bleeding.

"Its going to be ok. We'll get you help. Just breathe...focus on the sound of my voice." Leia wished there was something they could do for the pain...but she didn't have any more tricks up her own sleeve.

Luness yelped at Leia's touch, whining as she tightened the cloth against her wound. Once it was tied down, Luness scrambled to her feet despite only having three legs that were functional now. Holding the injured one off the ground, Luness folded her ears against her head and then limped to a corner of the cabin before sitting on her haunches and sniffing at her injured leg.

Letting out another small whine, Luness glanced up at the occupants of the cabin, giving a pleading look to each of them for more help despite there being nothing else that they could really do for her. Looking away from everyone, Luness then shakily lay down in the corner, keeping her injured leg splayed out beside her. Resting her head on the floor of the cabin, Luness whimpered and then wondered how much farther the village was.

Anya couldn't help but laugh at Leia's comment. "Oh, yeah, and you hold the end with the part that won't cut you." She added, before noticing the incident with Nyr. It seemed some of their party needed to heal, so she didn't mention the urgency she felt about getting the challis.

Alexander didn't see Nyr collapse the cave, as he was back trying to slow the wolves. When he approached the cave he flew higher to go over it, hoping to see the group on the other side.

The chaos below was hard to follow, but Quincy just kept loosing arrows and holding them off. With the collapse of the wall, the wolves were cut off and the sleighs were safe. 'The raven might need a lift.' She thought to Alexander, having watched the cave collapse and her emerge from the other side. She would jump off and run as a horse to let the injured raven girl ride him, if need be.

Elena found that the wall of vines was lost from the cabin, as well as the wolves. Nyr was freed and everyone was not unharmed but at least out of harms way. She faintly felt a tap on Her shoulder, but when she looked to see who it was, she found herself lose the wall. It disappeared and she opened her eyes half way, lightheaded, smiled warmly in the direction of Leia and promptly slumped over, out cold.

Alexander noted Quincy's concern, and swooped down nearer to the raven. 'Do you need a ride, Raven?' He asked in her mind. He was unsure of her name, and was certain that they hadn't actually been introduced. 'There is room on my back for two, if in human form.'

She cleared her mind and shook her head.

" Thank you for your generous offer but I think I will manage for now. " she replied in thought although even she doubted her words. She tried to flap with her wings and felt that she was able to maintain flight for now... even if only for a short distance. She turned to the others.

" Let us depart. Reckless as this idea was it may buy us some time before our ' friends ' find an another way around the glacier. "

As Zelnite was about to sit down, he noticed Luness curled up against a corner."Hey, it's me again" He smiled, then put his hand out, attemping to pet her.

@Lioness075

Comforted to see that Nyr was ok, Leo made a quick check to see if she was injured but the bubble around her had protected her perfectly. He watched as everyone else continued on their WA behind the sleighs, then took off himself falling back into his steady stride behind the group.

Luness whined and kept her ears folded back against her head, but when she heard Zelnite, she let out a weak growl at him. While she was too weak to actually stop Zelnite from touching her, she still felt highly defensive towards any and everyone.

The sleds continued on until the ravine began to dip away. They ran down a small hill and came through a tunnel made entirely of ice. It was short however and brought them out onto a ledge where a track led them straight to the upper quarter of the walled village, nestled against the mountainside and overlooking a vast frozen lake.

"Whoa." Was all Leia managed.

The gates swung open as the sleds approached and several armed men came out to help them. They looked very happy to see them, which was offset slightly by their sharp spears.

*edit @PhantomNightmare

Leia hid a smile as Zel tried to stroke the werecat.

"Dude, she's a person, would you try and pet me?"

((Wait, is Nyr and everyone on the wrong side of the avalanche? Where should I put Ward?))

When Luness released her growl, Zelnite stopped himself. "Tell me something, do you hate us humans that much? Or is this just a feral instinc?" He says curiously as he closes his eyes.

Elena was fast asleep by the time they pulled into the lake village area, recovering from lost energy. Curled into herself, she was oblivious to the speared men which greeted them.

Far from the sleigh, her evergreens disintegrated to dust, freeing the wolves.

Luness stopped growling upon hearing Zelnite's question. Pausing, Luness thought for a moment and then said tentatively in her raspy tone, "A little of both...I suppose." She then shook her head a bit, feeling as if someone was trying to enter her mind. Shaking off the odd feeling, Luness glanced over at Zelnite and asked after cocking her head at him, "Why would you try to pet me anyways?"

Banba stayed by Leo's side the whole fight through, attacking those who dare approach when he was healing the injured. It wasn't long, however, before they were retreating again, and she ran along side him, moving out behind when she couldn't fit beside. It was only when Leo turned around that she stopped, standing upright as her own being, cloak being whipped around by the wind. She watched the avalanche, eyes dull, lips pressed together. She stayed like that until the group ran past again, and she turned, running unbelievably fast only to morph into a reindeer of her own, catching up with the group easily. When the gates were opened, she entered last, hoofs skidding as she tried to stop, only to have her crash into one of the sleighs. In a poof of smoke, she was once again back to lizard form, curled up and clutching her nose, odd and deep noises coming from her throat.

(My, my, a lot happened while I was sleeping)

Ashley was surprised she could even keep up with this group. Sleigh Rides, Outrunning an Avalanche, Wolf Attacks, Traveling across a Frozen Lake? Good god! What else could go wrong, she wondered. Hopefully they were in a more safe place now though. The young mother could honestly appreciate a resting period. Trying to rest while there's snow flying into your face wasn't exactly an accomplished feat. No doubt the entire Adventuring Party was tired after all that. Because she sure was...

Leo slipped into the town behind the the rest of the team. He slid to a stop and stood up straight looking around the area. Ice had formed on his whiskers, easily brushed away when he looked around. He watched the rest come through and then Banba slide in behind. He tried to reach her before she hit the sleigh, but was only able to grab the sleigh and keep it from topping over. He looked down at Banba and smiled glad to see she and everyone else had made it. Just to make sure he looked over everyone "Did everyone make it alright!?" Trying to also get a head count.

Zelnite smiled at Leia, "No, but Luness is a werecat, I can't help it" He said before looking back at Luness, "Well, you are injured so I decided to keep you company till you're all better"

When Leo was trying to get a head count, Ashley was the first to raise her hand. "I made it. Thankfully." After noting that she made it alright, she yawned. A nap would be so nice right now...

Luness huffed at this, finding it both irritating and slightly comforting that someone actually cared enough to keep her company. Flickering her ears to the side, Luness perked up at the sound of Leo's shouting. Smirking, Luness calmly replied, "Never been better." Looking over at Zelnite, Luness sniffed and then said, "I'm not much of one to give good company."

Ward came in for a landing just by one of the sleds. The men bowed to them all as they gathered in the square. The gates shut tightly behind them.

The gryphon moved to where Luness was sitting in the sleigh. She had made it all right. The men of the town gave her a grim look.

"Isn't that one of the creatures you were running from?" When Banba transformed they were even more nervous.

"Both changelings traveling with us are protected by charms given them by the princess of Branbern." Ward explained patiently. He did not know Luness had lost hers. "They will cause no harm here, you have my word."

He turned back into a man and saw Elena lying as if asleep in the cabin.

"Too much vine magic." Leia said, offering to help Luness to the ground. "Hey Zel, gimme a hand?"

Ward tutted and lifted Elena carefully into his arms.

A stern-faced, bearded man in a thick wool tunic and a decorative sword approached them.

"There have been rooms provided." He said gruffly. "We have healers for your injured and there is food in the great hall."

The man crossed his arms and looked out over the town. "Welcome to SnowHaven."

Saer watched as the group headed back to Branbern. He was about to head after them, follow them yet again, but something deep stirred in his chest. It was like something had suddenly been unlocked, broken free. He knew immediately what it was.

Tyra had woken.

The group of humans immediately vanished from his thoughts, from his mind, replaced by a burning hunger that he had locked away for so many years. It consumed his very mind; every other thought was drowned by the raging fire of a broken barrier. A feral scream of wild fury and vengeance tore itself from his lips to the sky, echoing out across the land for miles, instilling cold fear to any who heard.

Out across the deep, uncharted lands of FableWood he ran at a brutal pace. Nothing slowed him. He didn't stop, not for a second. Sleep was meaningless to him.

It wasn't long before he found the soaring castle out on the sandy wasteland, where he knew the elf lay. But the black door slowly began to open from within. A slender elf man with blond hair stepped out into the air, hazel eyes wide. He turned, closing the door, and when he turned again, saw Saer.

He froze in terror as a silver blade slid from its sheath, and the Spirit began taking steps towards him. He stumbled back, hand scrabbling frantically for the handle to open the doors again, truly terrified eyes never once leaving Saer.

"P-Please, d-d-don't do it! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! IM SORRY! Stay away from me, you, you demon! I.. I don't want to die!" he cried, his voice trembling, catching in his throat as his lips quivered. Did Saer even once slow his step? No. Did Tyra's pleas even register within his mind? No.

His head whipped from side to side, and he bolted. Yet Saer's boot caught him in the chest with a satisfying crack, causing him to hurtle back several metres. He was immediately there again. Wrapping a iron hand around his throat, he jerked him off the floor to eye level. An wild grin split his face before he hurled him to the side like a ragdoll, into the wall of the fortress. He slid down, blood running down his face as he groaned. And Saer laughed. With slow, languorous steps, he moved over to the elf with the grace of a predator. You wouldn't recognise him now. Any shred of relatability, normality, sanity even had disappeared.

Tyra tried to stand on violently shaking legs, clutching the wall behind him for support. They locked eyes for a second.

Saer plunged the blade so deeply through his chest that it went into the wall behind him.

"You're mine." he whispered, voice shaking with joy and the knowledge that he was finally free. They stood like that for several long moments, before Saer let go of the hilt, pulling away. The change was immediate. He could feel the power he had lost flowing back though him, filling him with lightness and strength. As he raised his head to the sky, he was suddenly engulfed in a mirage of blinding, iridescent white flames.

His body began to change. Slowly at first, yet picking up speed as it progressed. Bones cracked as he slowly grew, taller and taller until he was well over eight feet. His skin slowly turned pure silver, his hair, too, growing wilder and longer down his back. Two curled, black horns erupted from his skull as his teeth sharpened into fangs. His eyes burst into a shining blue as a wide, bestial grin split his face. And around him, the flames exploded into a flash of beautiful colour, like the heavens themselves had come down to him. If one was looking closely, they could have seen a pure white figure within the swirling masses. It was the briefest glimpse of his true form. And then, it was gone.

The soft sighing of the wind was the only sound to be heard.

(I hate leaving suddenly without at least an ending post.. So, here you go. It's long, but hey! Go out with a bang. I would have loved to stay in this RP, I guess, but sometimes it just doesn't work out. Have fun you guys, and Archangel out.)

Feeling eyes on her, Luness slowly sat up, indian style, and then groaned as the movement caused pain in her arm again. Hearing the men questioning her, Luness let out a low growl, but cut it off when she realized that growling at allies probably wouldn't help in the moment, especially when they were questioning her alliance. Seeing Leia offering to help her and asking Zelnite to aid the pair, Luness used her good arm to push off of the ground and then unsteadily got to her feet. Leaning against the wall of the cabin, Luness used her good arm to steady herself while her injured one hung limply at her side. If she hadn't lost so much blood, then she would've been fine to get out on her own, but she was in no condition to do so. Frowning at this, Luness still attempted to pretend that she was okay, saying, "I'm fine, really."
