Fantasy ~ FableWood ~

Nyr allowed her sister to tap into her power as they flew but suddenly she screamed in pain and soon enough she knew what it was. The secondary barrier she placed on the ship just before she departed was now shattered into pieces as the dragons struck it with all their might. She saw few fireballs incoming in their direction and she rose up white barriers to protect Achyls from harms way. She was amazed how efficiently did the raven finish off the mindless dragons assaulting them... but something seemed off.

" These dragons are smaller than the usual ones. " Nyr yelled as she herself shot out few blinding rays of light which caused few dragons to collide and fall down from the sky. Now as they flew deeper into the swarm of dragons more and more of the creatures started to barrage them with their fireballs and Nyr felt her barrier waning. With her lending aid to Achyls and the need to maintain her protective spell she felt more drained than usual.

" Sister... " she panted as small cracks appeared on the shield. She doubled her efforts to maintain it intact but she was not sure how much longer she could " I can pray to Mother for guidance, but we should hurry. They seem to be endless! "

@SkywardSocks

More dragons arrived, flying up and out from behind several mountain peaks. The thunderous beating of many leathery wings and the whooshing sounds of many fireballs announced their arrival. Malachai spared a moment for Alex "Zeymah, they are no longer the children of our people. They are darkness, madness, if you can't fight all out then don't bother. Focus on defending the ship!" He turned to the new arrivals cursing in the ancient tongue, he roared as he swerved to them swatting one with his tail making his way into the midst of dragons. Sapphire roared overhead scratching and firing at the dragons as she weaved about the sky.

((The cavalry better hurry up or we're going to best everything before they get here.))

When Kallin saw the others using lethal force he changed tactics, twisting the wind with such a force that it broke the wings of several of the dragons in mid-flight. They plummeted like stones. Leia was much more reluctant, but when more began pouring through the hole in the barrier she had Lee strike out with sharp poniards of ice., most bounced harmlessly off of the near-impenetrable dragon scales, but some found tender places like eyes and sent the targets reeling backwards in pain.

The cannons had been prepared now and there was an ear-splitting explosion as they went off on the port side, peppering their attackers with hot iron.

Ward grappled with the dragon until he saw Elena fall. Thinking quickly he turned his head, latching onto one of the dragon's wings with his beak. He felt bone give way and heard the screech of pain. With one swift motion he kicked out, twisting his body like a cat in mid air and pushed off of the beast to give him momentum for the dive. He stooped with the speed of a falcon, funneling air through tightly, curled wings. As Elena slid he slipped into the air just beside her, allowing her to jump onto his back.

"Let's get back to the ship. I'm worried about the others."

((Last post for tonight))

Elena slid until she reached Ward, in which case she all but fell into him, and attempted to secure herself on his back. Her arms did not function though and she gasped as she felt she was torn in two. grasping for a good hold loosely with torn up hands, she nodded.

"Y..yeah.. we need to hurry."

She closed her eyes on the flight, trying to regain her previous poise. Her dream was like a warning? She didnt know.. the irony of her fall though made her wonder. It was a second chance to die the way she originally planned but she fought instead. Now she had to stop thinking and fight more if she could, back on board with the others.

Quincy followed behind Alexander, forgetting breakfast and her line of thinking. She watched the other fight for a few long minutes, well, mostly watching the dragons. They looked so different from Alexander. We should join the fight, if you can knock them out of the sky without damaging them too much, it will keep the others from killing them. She thought to him, reaching out to squeeze his hand. She could feel his horror at fighting children of his own kind, but it seemed that it was what must be done. The kelpie was ready for a fight to distract her, especially an aerial one. She had grown to love flying, and would readily ride along with him if he would have her.

The dragon continued to claw at Luness, landing a few cuts against her back, though only one or two were actually deep enough to cause her pain.

Feeling the blood on her back, Luness instinctively released her grip on the dragon's nose, her jaw dripping with dragon blood as she yowled in pain.

Yet, before either could make another move, Leo crashed into the dragon's back, jerking its body forward suddenly.

The dragon let out a strangled roar, as one of its wings had been struck by Leo's attack and was now broken.

Yelping in surprise, Luness suddenly leaped a few feet into the air, her fur standing on end and her four paws all stiff below her while her back was arched. By the time she'd landed back onto the deck and secured her claws into the wood once more, the dragon and Leo were tumbling towards the edge of the ship.

Hissing, Luness leapt forward, sprinting towards Leo with the intent of catching him before he fell off the deck of ship itself.

By the time, Luness reached Leo, he was nearly off the deck with the dragon already having fallen off, tumbling head over claw in the air to its death below, while letting out an echoing shriek.

Luness dove for Leo's mantle, the closest thing she could reach at the time, her claws, which were all covered in dragon's blood as well, barely reaching it in time for her to get a stable grip.

The moment she had a grip, Luness dug her three other sets of claws into the deck, leaving claw marks in its fine wood while also slowing her and Leo from falling alongside the dragon.

With Leo's lower half dangling over the edge of the ship, Luness dug into the wooden flooring while using her strength from her Alpha state to pull Leo back onto the deck before he joined the other young dragons in what was to be a fatal fall.

@zCrookedz

The ship spun around and around as he tumbled ass over end after smashing the dragon. The force of the hit was alot more than he had thought and soon he found himself dangling over the edge of the ship with Luness gripping his mantle as tight as she could. He reached out with both his hands, his own claws extending and digging into the wood floor of the boat. With a mighty heave, he pulled himself up and over the ledge panting from the strain of the lift and his momentary flight. He sat there looking over the edge of the boat, watching the dragon struggle to try and fly with its broken wing as it dissipated beneath the clouds. He looked to Luness and gave her a smile of exhaustion. " Thank you Luness, I owe you my life." He stood and looked back to the Kallin and Leia, then to the others in the sky. He began to chuckle to himself and then looked back to Luness. "Lets uh, lets not tell Nyr about that. She might find the humor in it as I do."

@Lioness075

Luness let out a sigh of relief when Leo helped her in helping him get back onto the deck of the ship.

Panting, Luness then sat down on her haunches, wincing slightly at the stinging pain from the cuts on her back. She could feel the blood matting with her fur, but there wasn't much to do about it at the moment.

Closing her eyes for a moment, Luness listened to the dragon's echoing shrieks, her mind flashing back to the moment when she'd closed her eyes as the jabberwocky had fallen down right on top of her.

Her eyes shot wide open, as fear enveloped her mind once more, but her fear was temporarily pushed to the side when Leo spoke up.

Hearing Leo say that he owed Luness his life, Luness merely nodded in response, still trying to catch her breath.

Upon hearing Leo chuckling and saying to not mention this to Nyr, Luness was rather confused. Still, she figured Leo had good reason for such a request and so she replied, "As you wish."

Twisting her head to look backwards, Luness soon caught sight of Kallin. Hopefully he was faring in this battle better than she and Leo had.

After all, from what Luness could tell, he was mostly using wind spells to keep as many of the dragons at bay as he could.

Leo winced as he saw the injuries that the dragon had dealt to Luness during their bout with the dragon. He placed his hands together "Oh great forest, heal these wounds so that this vessel my heal others to destroy the darkness." His eye and hand began to glow bright green then he fixated his eye on her "I understand you have boundaries that you wish not to be crossed, but If those wounds are not healed they could worsen. I would very much like my friends to stay intact." He hoped this would give her the incentive to let him help her. He reached out with his hands, careful not to actually touch her but hover over the wounds at a safe distance that was comfortable to her. The magic began to seep from his hands and lay on the wounds. After only a few seconds, the bleeding stopped and the warm feeling of skin and muscle knitting back together covered the wounds until they were replaced with their normal fur. He released his magic and his eye and hands returned to normal breathing a sigh of relief and smiled to Luness.

@Lioness075

Luness stiffened when Leo suggested he heal her wounds.

Frowning, she opened her mouth to protest, saying, "Save your energy for more important matters. I'll be fine, honestly."

Yet, she quickly realized that there was no point in arguing with Leo, as resolute as he was with his decision to heal her.

The moment his hands got close to her body though, she stiffened again, swiftly twisting her head to watch what he was doing behind her and letting out a low, threatening growl.

Satisfied that he wasn't actually touching her, Luness shut her mouth and then watched with slight curiosity, as Leo's magic healed her wounds and even grew her fur back without a single scar to show she'd ever been wounded to begin with.

When Leo smiled at her, Luness blinked in response before finally saying in an even and slightly shaken voice, "Thanks, Leo."

The battle seemed to go on for hours, wave after wave of dark dragons ushered forth. Malachai weaved and fired along with Sapphire he looked around to see the others were holding their own. He felt a pang of sorrow watching the young dragons fight t the death. Knowing that they weren't themselves didn't help any, but he knew that it was either his group or them and he needed his group, his friends. He dove back into the fray with renewed determination, and strength. They had to get through this, an even bigger challenge awaited them with the Elders.

As Sapphire fought on, she could feel tears of guilt and sadness streaking down and along her scales. Wave after wave of dragons, the seemingly endless onslaught was beginning to overtake the ship. Another thunderous chorus of roars could be heard in the distance, she turned to face the new arrivals with a mix of fear and grim resolve on her face. She readied herself for a new onslaught knowing Malachai would have heard the arrival of a new threat. She tore at one more dragon before flying up higher trying to gain the upper level.

Malachai turned to the sound cursing once more. These dragons were coming in fast and hard. "MORE!!! WATCH OUT!!" His voice boomed out to the others flying around. He made his way up to follow Sapphire hoping to gain an advantage over the new enemy, hoping that the others turned in time. Just as these thoughts crossed his mind a volley of dragon's fire sprang forth from the incoming flight. Malachai groaned in despair and reluctance, both of which soon turned to confusion as the fire struck not the heroes but the dark dragons that seemed to overwhelm the heroes. Several of the dark ones dropped with wings broken from the blast of the fire. The dragons finished closing the gap between them and the dark brood. Dragons of various vibrant colors flew in and began to tear into the dark dragons. Malachai watched on from above for a moment before joining in again together with Sapphire. They made short work of the dark brood as different colored blasts of fire, lightning, even large spires of ice lanced through the sky. Here and there noxious gases from earth dragons would poison or suffocate another dragon, bringing them down just as hard as torn and broken wings would. In short order the newcomers turned their attention to the ship as they began circling. A solitary dragon came forth slightly larger than Malachai, his scales glistened in the morning light showing like bright red rubies. He reared himself as he prepared to fire a blast at the ship, the other dragons growling preparing to follow through.

(@Hel feel free to take over gonna be a little busy)

Alexander had been fighting the dragons, teaming with Quincy in an attempt to incapacitate the dragons rather than kill them... until the pair realized that wasn't really an option. They had then started fighting the tainted children to the death, much to Alexander's dismay. He could not force himself to actually kill the dark dragons, but the others seemed to be fine enough with it.

When the newest set of dragons approached, Sapphire headed back towards the ship, going to talk with the elder dragon who approached.

'Father, tell the others that these people mean no harm. They were attacked by the dark dragons.' Sapphire thought to the Red dragon: Garnet.

'Were they, child. Tell me, what are they doing out here in the first place, so near the council's circle?' Garnet returned. Their voices could be heard in the minds of any who were open to listen. This dragon certainly seemed an elder. His eyes were world-wary and his scales seemed worn by the centuries. He held himself tall, with pride. Intimidating even without trying, his presence was an ancient one.

'We need their help, and you know it. I sent for them from the castle Branburn. Briar has those champions- the human ones, remember. Besides that, they have a Dragoon in their ranks to vouch for them.' Sapphire thought to her father, turning to look at Malachite and gesturing him over. The ancient dragon looked around at the three dragons on the ship, then at the others there. There was a moment of silence as he convened in his mind with those circling above, prepared to lay waste to the ship if they were deemed a threat. With a great sigh of smoke, the dragon turned back to the heroes and nodded, ever so slightly before addressing them all, regardless of how open their mind was. Such an ancient creature knew how to ferret into the minds of others, regardless of the victims willingness to participate.

'Well, it would seem that you have already made the journey out here, and already know of our predicament... and our secret, having seen the Corrupted Ones. Captain, whoever you are, follow me, and the rest of the elders. We will lead you to a place you can land and rest while these so-called champions attend the meeting. We will tell you more when you arrive. Sapphire?' The younger dragon looked to her father, worried and knowing she would be punished for this some time later. 'We will speak in private after the conclave, understand?'

With that the immense red dragon took off with a mighty pulse of his wings. Taking to the sky he rejoined his place in the dragons circling above- a hole had been left for him. The elders circled once more before one took the lead, guiding the ship through the dangerous mountain pass. Clearly, this way had not been meant for ships to travel, and the fit was certainly tight.

"Well... All of that was certainly dramatic." Anya said. She had been slaying the downed dragons on deck with Ethan as best as she could with her daggers, blissfully unaware of what ailed them.

Upon seeing the approaching dragons, all preparing to launch attacks at once upon their ship and the heroes on deck, Luness shot to all fours, hissing at them, but feeling completely useless in this situation. She had no way of stopping the dragons from killing everyone and herself included.

Yet, before she could even think more about it or consider making any further moves, Luness saw that the dragons were speaking together through some sort of silent form of communications.

It didn't take long for Luness to realize they were speaking through their minds, as the large, red one addressed her, and everyone else she presumed, through his thoughts alone.

Feeling another's presence in her mind drove Luness to sheer terror, her thoughts all collecting in one big shout, unsure if anyone beyond the large, red dragon would be able to hear her, as she screamed in her mind, "Get out!"

She then snarled at the dragon, trying to perhaps even surprise him to get him out of her head, but he completely ignored her.

Narrowing her eyes at this, Luness spat on the deck, but before she could do or say anything else, the presence left her mind and then the dragons all began to fly away.

Looking around, Luness saw that everyone had survived the dragon attack, mostly intact.

Ethan huffed, looking at his friend. "This didn't feel knightly," he admitted. "I don't like that. I'm in a fairy tale world and this feels wrong." Ethan was unsure what made him so uneasy about the dragon slaying, but something was terribly amiss with it. Perhaps it was the time he spent around Malachai and Alexander. It could have been the fact that everyone loves the concept of dragons and everyone wishes they could ride one — Ethan being no exception though he was pretty content in that he rode the Jabberwocky in its final flight. Or possible, just maybe, he sensed intuitively that something about these dragons was terribly off. Whatever the case — he didn't like it.

Quincy, on the deck below, looked at each dragon in awe. Since her mind was always open, for convenience between Alexander and herself, she heard much of the mental communication between the elder dragon and his daughter. Her eyes widened as they settled on the red dragon, impressed by his proud and regal appearance. She was equally impressed by the ranks of dragons he lead. Perhaps it wasnt as amazing to the others, but for obvious reasons, dragons were finding a special place in her heart. She went to the rail of the ship, watching the sky with a small smile. Now that the danger was over, she was thoroughly enjoying the sight of so many dragons, and the secret opinion that hers was the handsomest.

As the ship neared its destination, Alexander offered an explination to those still on deck- remembering the narration his brother had given him so long ago when he first came to the dragon Capitol of sorts.

"Ahead, when the pass widens out again you should be able to see Yolstrunmah Volcano. That is the heart of the Ethreal mountains, it stands taller than anything in the land, and is sacred to everyone who lives among these mountains- especially so to the dragons, however. Though, if you want a lesson in spirituality-religion-whatever, as Kai or Sapphire. Build into the mountain you'll see the city of Kenlock. If dragon tribes have a Capitol, it's Kenlock. Many come here on pilgrimages to the volcano and the like, others keep their permanent dens here while they travel. Some even live here- though, mostly only priests and ancient dragons preparing for their eternal sleep." Alexander said, watching ahead as he spoke. Still, his voice was loud enough to carry towards any who cared to listen.

As they got closer, what alex said proved true. One could tell the distance from the city by how densely the steep mountain walls on either side were covered in caves. Depending on the angle of the sun, one could see the glint and glitter of gold and treasures in some of The richer dragons' dens. Each of the enterances varied in size, and several even held dragons within of various shapes, colours, and sizes- though all looked more european than Asian. As the ship passed, many of the dragons perked up, or moved to the edge of their dens to check these newcomers out. Few outsiders ever got to see so many dragons gathered in one place as the city of Kenlock was in many ways a secret.

When they turned the final sharp corner- the boat barely scraping against the cliff side as they did- the group saw the towering yolstrunmah volcano looming before them. Sure enough, built into the wall was this city, however one should know what they are looking for to spot it from a distance. The city of Kenlock seemed to be what was left of a dwarvin ruin, restored and altered to fit the dragons' needs.

Achyls held back as the ship continued it's journey, in case of another attack. The battle recently fought was difficult enough indeed, though it appeared much easier for her to kill those in her way.

The way of a champion she thought to herself, looking back over her past battles in her mind's eye; a grin broke across her face.

Sure of the safety of the company, she followed the company to Kenlock, settling on the deck of the ship. She had only just caught the last of the explanation, landing around the centre of the deck. Unlike the other battles, she felt pumped and ready for another fight, as she knew would happen soon.

Lucille brought the ship in to dock herself. Grumbling about the damages.

Ward had arrived with Elena on the ship not long after Garnet had appeared and the gryphon regarded him with a mixture of awe and distrust. It was obvious that they were not very welcome here.

Kallin sat himself on the deck as soon as the fight was done, breathing heavily, as if he had just run a mile. Controlling wind needed more energy than people would think.

As the gangplank came down he peered over the edge of the ship, looking at the entrance to the city with interest.

"Can't say I've ever thought about visiting this place." he said more to himself than anyone else.

Leia jumped off the ship quickly, glad to be on solid ground again. In only a few moments the little earthen lump appeared at her boot, rumbling quietly. It seemed to like this place.

Nyr was a bit exhausted and relieved when they finally made out of the swarm of dragons. Following her sister she also headed back to the ship but her face full of concern again. She saw how determined and powerful Achyls was once more - but she also sensed something colder within her... something darker. She feared for the little raven but she was too hostile for her to ask about what ailed her so she just silently followed her back on the ship.

As they finally reached the home of the dragons the sight was truly marvelous. She looked around to see the great scenery and felt truly honored to witness this with her own eyes. Never before did she imagine what a majestic place this could be - and seeing this abode with her own eyes just made this impact even greater. As they docked she looked for Leo to check on him. Eventually as they prepared to move out she did find him and quickly ran to inspect him.

" Is everything all right? Are you not hurt? " she asked with worry in her voice but she could not see and outer signs of damage. Sighing in relief she walked with him. " I am worried about Achyls. She seems to conceal her feelings once again, becoming secluded, turning to darkness once again. " she looked at Leo " Do you think we could help her somehow? "

@zCrookedz @SkywardSocks

Leo watched as the ship slowly make its way through the mountain pass. It was slow going but he would rather the great big boat get them there in one piece. Finally the mountains gave way to their secrets, and the dragons home was revealed. Leo marveled at the structures carved into the mountains, he had never seen such amazing architecture before. As he was marveling at the sights of the dragons nests, he almost didn't hear Nyr make her way over to him. A bit startled he turned to her with a smile nodding to her. When she mentioned her sister, his own expression became worrisome. Leo had not spent much time with the little raven and for that he blamed himself "We will try to do anything we can to help." Following Leia suit, Leo was happy to get off the boat as soon as possible. He rested a hand gently on Nyrs arm with a gentle squeeze and began heading for the solid rock with the others.

Elena and Ward re entered the ship and Elena dismounted with wobbly stance before leaning down against the rails and falling into seated position. They would be reaching their destination soon so relaxing was pointless, and my was it an unfriendly looking place. However she didn't feel as up to the fight as usual. She was completely off guard during the last fight, with the dragons. Looking at her arms, she knew to be glad she couldn't feel them much.

Attention raising to the rest of the party, she felt a flood of relief in the lack of damage done. Then she felt disappointed in herself just as quickly. It seemed they were landed and ready to venture. She stayed where she was, suddenly unsure if joining was a good idea. She had a back feeling that wasn't just associated with the unfriendly looks of this land.

Luness listened to Alexander's explanation of the dragon's capitol along with his explanation of a few other things as well. It was rather boring to Luness, who really wasn't much of a history fanatic or anything, but she moved to the railing of the ship, admiring the immense views and nature regardless.

Upon seeing the looming mountains and then where they were going to dock, Luness found herself gaping in amazement at how large everything was. Then again, this was all for dragons so it kinda made sense why it was all so large.

Shutting her gaping mouth, Luness then walked past the whoever was still standing on the ship, aiming to get off the flying ship before they had another aerial attack. Honestly, Luness should've known better than to relax on this thing.

At least this one was better equipped to handle the aerial attack than their last flying vehicle. Crash landing was not something Luness wanted happening again anytime soon.

Once off the ship and on land once more, Luness let out a sigh of relief and then stayed where she was, unsure of where to go next or what to even do.

When the group landed the elder dragons they had been following made a semi-circle around the entrance. A couple had left, but most remained. The one they had spoken with earlier- Garnet- transformed into his human form. He changed from a mighty dragon to sturdy old man. All could now see the marks of age that wrote maps of his adventures all over his face and hands. What was left of his hair hung mostly around his face, or in a circle around the sides of his head leaving the top to shine in the sunlight. Despite his age, the man still had a sturdy appearance, and to call him frail would be terribly incorrect. He had noticed how upset his intrusion in their minds had made one of the members, so he chose this form to communicate with them, instead. He stepped forward and looked the group over with the same weary eyes he had possessed as a dragon.

"Know that you are about to enter a meeting of the elder dragons. All that is discussed here is done so in confidence, confidence that it will not be shared unless necessary." Garnet informed them, his voice creaky, as though it had not been used in centuries. "We will have rooms prepared for you while we are meeting so that you may find them afterwards, but that will be Sapphire's job- to show you all around. We are not accustomed to hosting other species, and were not expecting guests. Now... This is a very sacred place, I'm sure you understand the social ordinances required." Garnet's gaze seemed to rest on Malachai, as though the Dragoon was expected to tell the others what they can and cannot do in the sanctuary they were about to enter- the one where all of the councils were held by the elders of the clans.

Anya had to agree with Ethan when he spoke. She was still, however, awed by the scale of everything around here. When they arrived, the pilot girl was sad to leave the airship, but eager to explore this new place- though, she doubted anyone would actually be welcoming here. She listened to the old dragon speak and was apprehensive about this particular stay. This seemed far from the warm welcome the champions had recieved everywhere else they had traveled. Still, when the old dragon turned to lead first the elder dragons, then the humans into the immense 'room' she was eager to follow.

What was inside was elegant in it's own way, yet simple. There was a large circle in the center, and each of the dragons had a clear place to sit all around it. She assumed that whatever it was they discussed was placed in the circle or something, but now it seemed that was where they were expected to... stand. There weren't even seats for the human creatures. Could they just sit as they spoke? Or did this mean that it was a short meeting? She shook her head an sighed.

Alexander waited for Quincy to disembark, and then did so himself. He followed the others in walking between his brother and his Kelpie. When they entered, his eye was drawn to the gold trimmings in the stone, marking the edges of the circles and labeling the clan the elder belonged to where they sat- as though that was necessary- as well as providing a decorative flair. On the ceiling was an image of the dragons flying around the volcano as it erupted formed by sculpted precious gems and metals.

Luness watched Garnet land and then shift, her anger sparking within seconds upon recognizing the dragon who'd entered her mind without permission.

Impatiently waiting for him to finish his little speech and then lead them to an immense room, Luness then took matters into her own hands...or paws.

Narrowing her eyes, Luness snarled at Garnet and then took a few steps towards him on her hind legs, so he'd see her, while saying angrily and jabbing a finger in his direction, "Don't ever get in my mind like that again without permission, dragon. I don't care who you are, you had no right to enter my mind like that. Maybe if all you dragons weren't so high and prideful, then you'd realize that the rest of us have boundaries that we'd like for you to respect."

Despite being just a werecat and now picking a fight with a dragon, Luness felt she was justified in this moment.

The first day Luness had joined up with this group, she'd met Nyr, who had also spoken through her mind with Luness. After demanding Nyr to never do such a thing again, she had respected Luness' boundaries.

Now, Luness expected the same from the elder dragon before her, as he'd entered her mind and spoken to her as if he had every right to do so, which he did not.

'Child. Perhaps you do not understand. As I am now, am I invading your privacy by assaulting your ears with my voice? As dragons, we communicate in the mind. It is not a matter of boundaries, that is the voice we were given. You ought to be careful who you speak to like that. I think many would not care that you travel with these 'Champions'." Garnet said. Before he spoke a couple of the nearby dragons voiced their own growls, but stopped when he spoke so calmly. His tone was not harsh, merely one of an experienced teacher, or of a grandfather speaking to a child. He did not see his words before as an intrusion, as he honestly didn't really have another way to communicate at the time. He was not as young as he used to be, and turning back and forth took an energy that he no longer possessed. He suspected he would stay in this human form now for the rest of the day or two, and was quite irritated that these outsiders had forced him to turn.

Sapphire looked a bit offended that Luness so blatantly and forcefully spoke to her father, but when he spoke she knew that it was not her place to say anything. She remained near Malachai as they filtered into the council room. She had not been in there since she was a child and it hadn't changed at all- not even the faces who were present.
