Fantasy ~ FableWood ~

" Braiding... " she parroted, still a bit confused but admired her work nonetheless. In the dark realm of the ravens no such talent was acknowledged - she was happy that she was banished early from that god forsaken place. This fine work... this intricate design was pretty interesting.

" Your handiwork is quite astounding. " she said as she finished her work " It must have taken years to master this art. "

Blue... and interesting nickname which made her smile. She was unsure about calling her like that, so she decided that Lexi should suffice for now.

(Sorry, dinner)

Lexi smiled at the compliment and confirmed that Nyr knew absolutely nothing about braiding. "Years. Yes, years... Very long time I must say and I'm proud if it" she said, taking a deeper voice, dramatically putting one leg on a tall root that was sticking out of the ground. "I can teach you!" she exclaimed, returning to her normal, bright tone. "And may I asked what creature ar' ya exactly?"

" M-Me? " she blushed in anxiety. She had never done anything like that before " I am sure you would find me clumsy... And if it took you years to learn it it would take me decades surely... "

She then - hearing her question - stood back, spread her wings and arms wide open started to transform. Her arms vanished and he feet transformed into clawed legs. Her wings grew three times of their size and her face transformed into one of an avian creature. She then looked down on both of them with - hopefully - a smile.

The Dread Raven stood before the two girls, barely smaller than a tree.

She blinked repeatedly and made a small 'huh' noise. "I find myself speechless for once..." Mira smiled back at the large raven, whom seemed to be smiling at them. She did find that form intimidating, but in the best way. She knew Nyr wouldn't harm them, but she did slightly pity any creature that tried to harm any of the people in their little band of misfits.

Lexi flinched at the sight of the bird, her balance threatening to falter but she kept her ground, placing her foot back on the ground, grinning. Cool was her thought. Sure, it was dark and scary but the bird has a certain... majestic-y feel about it. She looked up happily. "That is..." Lexi paused, unsure if 'awesome' is an understandable word here so she replaced it. "So... pretty! I want wings too ya know?" she said happily, feeling a little envious but she pushed it away.

"Wings would be cool..." She looked over at Blue and put a hand to her mouth to stop giggling at her small stumble. "But, I'm afraid of heights, so they'd be redundant." Mira huffed at that statement and pouted slightly. "Well, I'm not afraid of heights, or falling for that matter, it's just the sudden stop at the end."

Nyr reverted back to her human form, still keeping her wings to be shown. She was surprised. She expected... fear and covering just like every time it happened before. Instead she heard Lexi say - what was the word again? - 'pretty'. She looked at her with curiosity in her eyes.

" Pretty... that is the first time I have heard something like that. " she noted " Monstrous, disgusting and terrible are the words I got used to. "

She looked enraged for a second and made a declaration. "If anybody else says anything mean or rude to you or any of our friends, my fist is gonna meet their face." She nodded and stood with her shoulders back, a strong look on her face.

"And my foot will kick where the sun don't shine" Lexi added, standing next to Red boldly. Haters everywhere, need protection, Lexi is up for that. Anything for friends but she had just realized that her sentence was... an inappropriate one.

Nyr smiled at their enthusiasm and bowed before them.

" You are too kind. " she said " But it is a curse I have to bear until my last breath. Human prejudice does not seem to be as widespread as the one in FableWood. But here the creatures of tales and stories believe that you must fulfill the destiny you were born to... even if you do not want to. "

She fell silent a bit before she started talking again.

" Ravens are considered bringers of ill omens, death, decay and destruction. Even though my path is different than for the most they still consider me a threat - and for that I can't blame them. Hatred runs deep in their veins, it is not something to be eliminated quickly. "

"I do not care about what you are 'meant' to represent. I had a raven as a friend, as weird as that sounds. She was wild, but she sat on my windowsill one night, when I still lived with...my parents. She brought me good luck. It was the year my brother took me away. It was good though!" She made sure to add that last part, lest they think lowly of her brother.

Mira's words made her smile as she sat down to the ground.

" I still don't understand you fully. " she said slyly " You have every reason to believe that I am bad: my black clothes, my black appearance, my crimson red eyes, my menacing figure while I am transformed - yet you put your trust in me. You believe in me. How do you do this I know not, but I feel honored. And I swear I try to remain true to my oath and protect you as best as I can. "

"Don't judge a book by its cover. Many people believe my home life was happy, but it was truly horrible, my mother was a harlot, slept with every attractive man that flirted with her, my father drank like a sailor, my brother was hiding is sexuality and I was almost alone in the world. I do not judge with appearance..." She put her hand above where Nyr's heart would be. "I judge what is in here."

Lexi was tired. Sleep? Maybe. How long was she here? She can never tell. She stifled a yawn and turned to face the duo with her, "Does that count me?" she asked, pretending to be upset. Yeah, sure, the features are uncanny but Goth Loli, a style that Nyr is wearing, which Lexi was partial knowledgable about have always strike her as... mysterious and he loved mystery. "Say, can both of ya intraduce me ta the others? I want ta know my... companions I suppose?" she asked, hoping to meet them and of course, learning their names.

Nearby, Alexader was out for a flight, he didn't usually head this close to cities and towns, but the unicorn he was hunting kept getting closer. 'Huh, I wonder if it thinks all of the life there will kep it safe?' He thought to himself.

Nyr embraced Mira's warm touch then hugged her comfortably.

" Worry not, I will protect you. " she whispered to her as she looked in her eyes seriously. " I know how painful it must have been but as you placed your faith in me so will I do the same. And know that the Child of Mother Moon will always be at your side. "

She smiled as she looked at Lexi, pulling her closer with her wing.

" At the moment everyone is busy doing their own things. Ward is talking to the princess and the others well... they are out minding their own business. " she noticed that Lexi was tired and she assumed Mira might be as well.

" If you are tired I can ask Mother Moon to grant you an easy rest for both of you. " she offered " I will stand guard over you, not allowing any harm to come to you. "

She returned the hug, and thanked her with a simple look in her eyes. "I feel need to tell someone the full story, but I have never felt anybody was trustworthy, until now. Nyr, would you listen?" She shook her head at the offer, but looked at Blue. "Yes, that counts you too. Are you alright, sleepy head?"

Looks like Lexi should get used to hugs. "Yeah, I will" she replied, smiling softly and sat down, crossing her legs and patiently waited, happy to share her own bad experiences.

Nyr smiled at both of them and looked at Mira in anticipation.

" Please do share with me - with us - your story. I will listen and try to help as best as I can. "

"Thank you..." She took a deep breath, preparing herself for the tale. "I was twelve when I saw my mother...she was kissing a man who was not my father. I told him, he said he would repay the favour..."

She closed her eyes and held back the tears that were threatening to break through. "It took him two years to do so. I was changing when he walked in, drunk. He pinned me to the ground and...touched me...in all the places a father should not touch his daughter. I kicked and screamed, eventually escaping to my brother...he let me stay in his room that night. The next morning, he told me about his sexuality. The next week we packed and left that hellhole." She started sobbing uncontrollably and hid her face while doing so, not wanting them to see her cry.

Nyr embraced her with both her arms and her wings, wrapping it around her gently while she tried to soothe her.

" Rest easy, Mira. " she said as she brushed through her hair, patting her head gently whilst hugging her. " I will ask Mother Moon to guide you and so will I. He will not hurt you - not now, not ever, for I shall come forth from the darkest depths of the abyss and hunt him down if he lays a finger on you. I will break the barrier between this world and yours if I have to. I swear it. "

"T-Thank y-you, Nyr...." She soon fell asleep from the hug and the gentle brushing through her hair. She mumbled this in her sleep, curling up to the girls chest.

She looked at the slumbering girl with a smile as she patted her head gently, looking up to the sky.

" Mother Moon, protect her from nightmares. Let she have a good rest to rejuvenate her wary body. "

She then turned to Lexi, motioning her to lay her head on her lap.

" Come, Mother Moon welcomes you as well in her grace. Rest easy, she and I will guide you. "

(Sorry for the wait @SilverFlight, my schedule's been all over the place recently *-*)

It surprised him somewhat when the air spirit wrapped itself around his legs. It was definitely purring. Fickle creature... One minute it was giving him 'the look', the next, well... It was doing this. Whatever this was.

He didn't even get a chance to decide on whether he should tell Leia the reason why he was here before the rabbit in the waistcoat appeared. Something like me? He wasn't exactly surprised that a unicorn had sensed his presence, but otherwise was completely unfazed by the rabbit's words. But when Leia called him her guardian, that caught his attention. He knew, of course, that it was a lie, but that didn't stop a frown coming over his face as he gritted his teeth. Why would she cover like that for someone whom she had literally only just met? They won't be too pleased if they find out that it's a lie..

He hesitated as they started moving away. Should I..?

He would have preferred to have kept hidden for longer, but if he wanted to know what was going on, then he would have had to reveal himself sooner or later. Since the Unicorn knows I'm here, I might as well now, and just hope that nobody recognises me.

He slid the small fraction of blade drawn gently back into its sheath as he stepped out of the shadows and into the light. The spirit stirred, coiling itself tighter around his leg as he walked, but continued to cling on. It almost looked like it had fallen asleep, but he wasn't sure if wind spirits even slept in the first place. He made no move to remove it, enjoying it's company somewhat.

His steps halted at the very edge of the auditorium as his eyes ran across the seated audience, lingering barely a second longer on the Princess as he leant against a nearby tree, folding his arms. He had no intention of participating in this gathering, but his curiosity forced him to stay and watch either way.

Nyr sat there under the trees with Mira and Lexi sleeping on her lap. She smiled as she brushed through their hair with her fingers and patted them gently, forming a soothing darkness with her ebony wings. They looked so innocent, so happy whilst sleeping. The situation felt so peaceful, it was almost like was a watchful mother and they were her children.

She chuckled at the idea but... she would have liked that. Family was a luxury she never had in the past but now it felt so good for her. So warm.

" Hush, dear children. Mother Moon guides your path, guards your dreams. And so shall I. "

And she started to sing a lullaby silently, to sweeten their dreams.
