[Exalted: Planet Earth] The Creation-Spanning Weave

Honestly, no. As a lunar you have an innate ability to use your Attributes to great effect, not to know the finer points of fisticuffs or tracking and generally surviving.

Of course, martial arts is taught to a great many people, so it would by no means be unlikely that you started out with a decent rating.

Here are two quotes that illustrate what I hope will be Lavinia's character journey. :)

"In a time of dismay and dread, is it admirable for filmmakers to depict pure evil? Have 9/11, suicide bombers, serial killers and kidnappings created a world in which the response of the artist must be nihilistic and hopeless? At the end of your film, after the other characters have been killed in sadistic and gruesome ways, the only survivor is the one who is evil incarnate, and we hear his cold laughter under a screen that has gone dark. Your answer, that the world is evil and therefore it is your responsibility to reflect it, is no answer at all, but a surrender."

"...all things in the world, if they are just left alone and paid no attention, are bound to advance in a negative direction. It's on the same principle that we can't stop the universe from getting colder, regardless of what we do. This world is only maintained in existence by a series of logical, common-sense processes; it can never escape the bondage of its physical laws.

"Therefore, in order to create a perfect ending for a story you must possess the power to break the chain of cause and effect, invert black and white, and act in complete contradiction to the rules of the universe. Only a heavenly and chaste soul, a soul that resounds with genuine praise for humanity, can save the story."

That reminds me... how is training time going to be handled?
I'm not entirely sure. On one hand I dislike players becoming massively more powerful in a matter of weeks, on the other it sucks to not be able to use your xp.

Unless one of you has a better suggestion, I say we use the rules as written for now, and if that doesn't work, we'll drop or reduce them.

Also on that note (now that I thought of it) does the Sacred Hunt work as standard? Do I just instinctively understand how to go about it, or are we simplifying form acquisition somehow?

My personal preference would be to shorten the time required, maybe even to the point of getting the form of anything that I personally kill and taste the blood of (assuming I have the right form acquisition knacks of course). If that's too easy, maybe require a roll or spend some amount of motes or willpower, either to acquire a form by that means or to shorten the time needed for a full hunt?

I'll say that the sacred hunt is still necessary, though its sanctity is up to you. You need to stalk and investigate your prey and drink its blood before you can take its shape. Knacks can of course alter this

Well yeah, but that's only temporary acquisition.

For the full six hours?

At the risk of being a pest, would you consider looking at some Lunar Overdrive charms that weren't in the Scroll of Errata? Thomas really isn't devoted to the "bodyguard" side of Lunar thematics (at least not yet), and that's what they're all about. Sleeping Dragon Awakens was posted by the devs, and these ones were written by members of the community after being solicited by the devs, both before 3e was confirmed, and everyone expected 2.5 to last a lot longer.

They all seem fine.

ST I have two quick questions, I want your permission to include an American food riot into my backstory, I dont want to mess with your timeline or setting without your permission. Second, can I start with Perfect Mirror?

Its possible with some tweaks, the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program would need its funding cut, and regulations would need to be weakened so that a megacorp could put upward pressure on food prices.

I just wanted to clear it with you since its an E3 charm, and you have a soft cap of E2. I will work on putting a justification on it in my backstory.

Good thing performers on Broadway make a leetle more money than the average actor, or Lavinia would be out there throwing rocks.

Hell, she might anyway, cynic or not.

[/QUOTE]SNAP won't go anywhere. It's a major farm support program, and attacking farm support programs is one of those things that makes a promising political career turn into genteel irrelevance.
On the other hand, the Arab Spring started as a string of food riots, and we have IMFECB riots in parts of Southern Europe. So the potential for food riots in triple (food, fuel, current account) deficit third-world countries certainly exists. If that's too far from home for a US-based character, I could definitely see a food riot happening in Mexico. Which would add the cartels to the mix for additional Fun.

But the US is only a double-deficit third-world country.

... unless of course we move depletion of the Ogallala aquifer forward in the game timeline, so game start coincides with the beginning of runaway desertification of the Great Plains.

Your assessments of other countries are spot on, but I would prefer to be US based because of my knowledge of the nation's culture. Also fluctuations in commodity prices could also spark riots in developing parts of the world.

In our world SNAP was recently taken out of the farm bill and had its funding significantly cut, in a game world based on ours but darker (i.e. this campaign) the program could have been eliminated; it is up to the ST so that is why I asked. The Farm Bill is one of the nice Omni Bus packages where the farm states get their agricultural subsidies and the urban states get their welfare program. In the recent budget climate programs for the poor are being cut left and right and it looks like SNAP is no exception. Even though there are 47 million beneficiaries of the program the farm subsidies in the Farm Bill are more likely to generate electoral blow back than any attempt to screw over the poor.

Also the depletion of that aquifer would be terrifying

ok my backstory has been uploaded and I will upload stats once everyone gloriously tears it to shreds and helps me put together a better idea. My goal was to create an activist who gets involved in politics through the tragedy of losing his loved ones to those in power. He pursues his goals of making a more just world through cunning, guile and subterfuge instead of letting the blood run through the streets.

Also unsolicited charm recommendations are great
