The neighbour cocked a brow, frowning at the foreign tongue. “…D’you…have any money?” He slurred, guessing that the dark-haired Lieutenant wanted one of two things – both of which was gonna cost him. Slow, thudding music was playing in the background of the dimly-lit room, with the bird-women still chattering noisily over the dinner table. Behind them, a tiny giggle echoed across the room. Adrian had manage to scrape himself off the wall, away from the fish-dancer (who had moved onto another client), and out into the living room.
The doctor was lying on his side, doubled over as his body shook from the chuckling. Both hands were wrapped around his ribcage, tears streaming from his eyes and drool travelling sidewards down his cheeks. Adrian had been drifting in and out of these laughing fits for the past hour – his entire face ached from it and yet he couldn’t stop. Every single thing he saw became suddenly so warped it was ridiculously funny. His eyes glazed over Cassidy as they briefly refocused, and Adrian’s mouth curled into an ardent grin. Before breaking into another fit of laughter, smacking the floor in amusement at his drahy from across the room.
