For Participants:
please link your character sheet in your opening post.
We are aiming for 72 hour (3 day) round turnarounds in this play, if everyone posts sooner we may advance sooner. If there will be a delay I will do my utmost to communicate such.
Given how not all characters are tied together narratively, in your opening post you can be outside the walls or already in the interior. Feel free to pick somewhere to head or already be and I’ll flesh things out more from there.
If you have not yet contacted me to discuss your character goals, or wish to further discuss please feel free so that I can better cater to your character needs for what unfolds here.
For helpful information about the Kingdom feel free to check out the other link giving details Nova provided about The Kingdom!

The Kingdom of Rotia was far from a place that most would travel to in the realm willingly. The reasons for this were apparent. The land was so close to the dark continent and experienced regular monster raids. The climate was known for being particularly unforgiving in the winter due to how North they were located.
The Kingdom’s economy was powered by conflict and many turned to monsters slaying to make a living in this land. Under a Queen who ran an autocracy, while it wasn’t the safest or freest place to live in the realm, there was still room to profit and live well if you had the right skill sets, as well as resources of interest.
The more people strayed away from civilization things became progressively more dangerous. Thankfully there were some portals spread out throughout the Kingdom’s land which could take people near entrances of many of these population locations throughout Rotia. One of these portals was located near the border wall of Evergate Rampart.
By the waystation portal area was a group of six guards who were there to keep watch. They were wearing metallic armor, and had pikes as well as short swords by their hands. The helmets covered their faces, and the metallic armor was heavier.
For one reason or another, travelers today would go near a place formally known as Evergate Rampart.
It was well fortified place.
The walls were tall and made of wood and stone. There were some watch towers sprinkled far apart on the walls with archers in place scattered around the perimeter as well.
Near the entrance of the border wall parallel from one another on either side of the entrance were two people in their monster combat ready mechas, Rotia’s crest was very visible on the center of their chest pieces, distinguishing them from independent adventurer pilots. The ornate nature of the mecha build suggested that they were royal guard, which was rather unusual to see in a place like Evergate.
“Don’t you think it’s a bit of a waste of our talent to be stationed out in the middle of nowhere like this just because of some event that’s going on? ” the guard on the left side asked, with a decidedly male sounding and mix of boredom and annoyance in his voice.
“Raul, you and I both know why we were sent here.” The identical one turned to him and said, with a decidedly more feminine sounding voice.
“So what, just because someone starts some rumors we need to raise every alert in the Kingdom?” Raul replied, sounding unimpressed.
A sigh would come from the unnamed one,. “You can never be too careful in Rotia. I know that’s something that’s been engraved in your skull since we were little.”
Close to the guards were a set of black orbs which were appraising people who wished to enter the gate as an extra precautionary step.
----
Past the entrance was a main cobblestone road which had wooden arrow signs written in common and Terran directing people toward places of interest such as the church, Main Street, recruitment office and other buildings of importance. These directions guide signs were spread out as were the pathways which broke off from the main path.
There was a certain [Beast] waiting to the side of this main path, who was looking out and waiting for a certain [Beast]. He was currently tapping his foot, moving his tail about, every now and again glancing around. With him was a leather satchel, whatever was inside was hidden from view. He seemed to be relatively low key with not many people paying him mind other than the occasion glance, but his attire suggested that he was of an upperclass perhaps. Regardless he was staying quiet,

On the interior the rampart itself was an imposing castle fort-like structure which towered over the land. In its proximity was a barracks, a training area, mess hall and other amenities specifically for soldiers which was segregated from the rest of the circular wall in the area, all located as far north as the walls would allow.
The dungeon where criminals were being held under lock and key was directly under the fort in a guarded underground expanse.
There were many modest sized structures on the exterior ring closest to the outer walls and inward toward the center with thatched medieval style roofs;a residential area.
Closer to the center of the walled off circle was a modest sized stone church building dedicated to Valcorism.
Not far away from the church was a main street which had some businesses such as a black smithery, engineer workshop, general goods store, tavern with rooms for rent , and a magic shop. Every now and again people came and went along the paths, about their business. As normal as the activity looked it had become apparent that there was a certain tenseness in the air which was unusual to say the least. This main street eventually led into a town square which had a clearing of sorts, with a wooden platform with stairs to the side and there were a few people idling about.
----
Kane was actually one of these people. He leaned against the wood, with his executioner ax in hand. Every now and again he looked behind him to the administration building which was prominent in the square, with the royal crest once again plastered outside of it on a large vertical flag banner hanging on either side of the steps up to the entrance.
He knew it would only be a matter of time before people would start to gather out of a variety of reasons ranging from knowing those whose time was up to just out of pure curiosity. That was understandable. He didn’t have much else planned that day; this was a big occasion after all, and he wanted to get this done with as soon as possible since it would mean he would finally be officially ready to act in his role in society which was exciting.
Despite his inner thoughts his resting face almost appeared bored, watching people go by in the distance, even with this tenseness in the air, people hurrying along more than usual, whispers here and there. Even some of the guards milling about looked like their mind was elsewhere. Kane conversely was as chill as a cucumber he wasn’t convinced anything more exciting was going to happen beyond his task today. Of course there was always the chance of a monster attack in Rotia, but with the latest reports it sounded like the surrounding area was clear enough.
The look of boredom eventually went away from his face however as he saw a pair going at it not far in the distance in the square while they walked. They looked well off, and it wasn't so often you got to see this kind of drama in public for that kind of class a bit of a smirk starting to form on Kane's face as he observed and listened in.
"You know she isn't the true and honest Eliza!" A male with an amulet, white forehead piece, and a hooded tunic proclaimed, he had a short sword at his side. His facial expression suggested agitation and his body language was defensive.
"Knowing this is true, I have to do what I can, it's for the good of the kingdom, no matter the risk involved. Ranthor and Varek smile favorably upon us. Now is the time for action, the signs are all there!"
The youthful woman also wore white and blue, It was all rather lavish and warm appropriate for the weather, providing multiple layers throughout in her dress.
"You must't meddle in affairs as serious as these! You have no idea what you're getting yourself or others into! Taltons have maintained our position in this Kingdom for years by doing what we know works best, and I can assure you this path isn't going to lead to anything good no matter how noble you think it may be!" Her words took on a tone of alarm, while they were stern that was almost a quality of pleading to what she said.
