[Telios]

Tupus is your average 13 year-old boy with black hair, bown eyes and a tanned skin, if you don't include his pointed up triangle ears, bushy tail, which both are covered in black fur, and 'powers' as they put it. He has never seen his parents, siblings if any or relatives. Instead, there were guards, scientists and 'test subjects'. Tupus is one of them. He was put through agility tests, strength tests, ect. They took good care of him but... He always wondered... "What is freedom?"


One day, he and a few others test subjects agreed on an escape. They did it on a moonless night, hoping that the no light might give them a slight advantage... All of them split up, leaving him and another test subject together...


Tupus groaned when he woke up. The sun has already risen for a while now and his partner, or rather partners, were still sleeping. "The night was rough... Hope they won't find us now..." He mumbled, his ears moving around and tail waving from side to side. He stood up and stretched, looking around the forest they were in.

 

[azimuth]

Zack would be of a very different variety, compared to Tupus. For one, he knew his volatile chemicals. During the escape, he managed to blow half of the building to rubble using a rough mix. Given a little more time, he could have wiped the facility off the face of the planet.


Zack was originally "zeta six", so he made up his name from that. He was born from a test tube, as was his sister. This means neither of them half true parents. But as of yet, neither of them really care. They have each other.


Zack would not have been next to Tupus upon his awakening. He and his 'sister' were still sleeping happily high up in a tree. As a matter of fact, they had not long gone to sleep, as they were both nocturnal. Scarlet would have been neatly nestled in the nook of zacks arm as he lay back in a branch.

 

[Telios]

Tupus looked around, trying to find Zack and his 'sister'. He looked up on a tree and found them. "Zack! You awake?" Although he already knew that they are both nocturnal, he hoped that they can move as far as they can from the building. He didn't want to be captured again.

 

[azimuth]

Zacks other arm, that didn't support an owl, flopped down. Gently moving scarlet to a position where he could climb down without disturbing her, he did begin to climb down. Once on the ground, he ruffled a little bit of dew from his hair. He did the same with his wings. "keep the noise to a minimum." he warned. Scarlet squirmed to get comfortable again, but stayed sleeping.

 

[Telios]

"S-Sorry," Tupus said, his ears flattened onto his head, "but we need to move or they'll find us..." He said before turning his ears and then his head in a random direction. "Choppers... They are getting close..."

 

[azimuth]

"......... It's coming from that way, so let's go this way." he pointed south, then pointed North and began walking that way.

 

[Telios]

Tupus nodded and followed Zack quietly. He nervously looked around their surrounding, worried about they are going to be found.

 

[azimuth]

Zack didn't seem worried at all. Though as an hour past, he seemed tired and his stomach grumbled audibly. This caused scarlet to stir again, but zack soldiered on.


You see, being a human avian hybrid, zack needs a lot more calories to keep himself to normal standards. Three thousand a day, to be precise.


Half an hour after that, they reach the tree line of the forest. There was a town in the distance, but what appeared to be awake separated them from it.

 

[Telios]

Tupus was getting hungry as well, although he just continued to follow Zack. He stopped befoer his ears moved. "I heard something... A deer maybe?" He said, looking back to Zack.

 

[azimuth]

Zack craned his head around and bobbed it about..... "not a deer. Definitely not a deer. Climb a tree right now and do it slowly. Big.... Fricking.... Cat." and by cat, he clearly mean tiger.

 

[Telios]

"I can take it down. You get some rest while I hunt it down, ok?" Tupus asked, stretching a bit.

 

[azimuth]

Zack spoke in a whisper. "it's closer than you think." he pointed past tupus. A few metres away, the Bengal tiger was lazily wandering about. Tupus may detect the scent of fresh blood on it, as it had just finished a meal of deer.

 

[Telios]

Tutus shrugged and just head on ran to it. He always liked the direct approach instead of stealth. The tiger charged at him but he dodged and tackled it on its side with a force that no normal human can do.

 

[azimuth]

Zack climbed the nearest tall tree and scarlet was woken by the Ruckus. "... Uh, tupus? Scarlet says that even though she doesn't like big cats, if you kill this one she'll will scratch the hell out of your face. She got out of her cage once. Wasn't pretty." zack called down. Of course, the Tiger tried to fight back.

 

[Telios]

Tupus looked back at Zack and Scarlet. He sighed and backed up, letting the tiger to go away. He was hungry and wanted some food but he'd rather keep his face intact.

 

[azimuth]

The Tiger would take a swing at tupus, with her claws retracted. She glared at tupus for a few moment before beginning to walk backwards, away from him. Soon it turned and ran away. Zack placed scarlet on the branch beside him, then leapt down. The height would have been enough to snap an average humans legs, so it's a good thing he wasn't average. "wise decision. One does not anger that owl." Scarlet flew down from the branch, landing on Tupus's shoulder. She nibbled at his hair in a kind gesture of preening. "no fair! You don't go that to me.." zack complained. Scarlet ignored him.

 

[Telios]

Tupus chuckled when Scarlet nibbled his hair. He raised a hand and petted her gently. "But you two are very close to each other. You must be glad that you have someone to always be by your side..." Tupus tried to put up a smile but it faded quickly.

 

[azimuth]

"she's not by my side when she's moody. Speaking of moody, there's a big cat lurking about so I want to get moving." zack didn't like cats. Understandable, considering he's part bird. "you going through? Or around?" he asked. Scarlet wouldn't have resisted to the pats. Afterwards, she nibbled his ear.

 

[Telios]

Tupus snapped out his train of thought when Scarlet nibbled his ear. "H-Hey! T-that tickles!" He smiled, looking up at Scarlet.

 

[azimuth]

Scarlet looked back down at him and gave a small, happy hoot. "marry him." scarlet shot zack a death stare. "no, you shut up. Anyway, I asked you a question."

 

[Telios]

"Y-Yeah... I think I can go through to save some time..." Tupus answered.

 

[azimuth]

It was only now zack noticed an alligator on the far side of the lake. "maybe not a good idea. Big reptile over in that direction. Going the long way around would be the best bet... Go choke on a mouse." he muttered, and started walking parallel to the lake.

 

[Telios]

"You have wings, what about carrying us over the lake?" Tupus asked, following him with Scarlet on his shoulder.

 

[azimuth]

Zack stopped for one reason. To stare at tupus like he was an idiot. ".... Three things wrong with what you just said. One, she has wings to so why 'us'? Two, there's no way I'd be able to even get you off the ground, and then there's three. You think they let me fly in that stupid lab?"
