Episode 1: The Auditions

Jasmine weaved through the sea of students leaving her biology class to see themselves out. On her way to the auditorium she snatched the sign up sheet off of the bulletin board and laid it on top of the note pad and folder she cradled in her arms. It seemed like eternity before she reached the auditorium, though it was merely a few short minutes. Butterflies flapped around in her stomach and she rolled her eyes at her own nervousness, it was different from pre-performing jitters, she just didn't want to fail these kids. The teacher stopped short at the entrance, sticking to the shadows for a long moment, a surprised satisfactory smirk creeping across her face. Those who signed their names were actually here, people showed up regardless of the stigma. On that fact alone, Jas knew this was going to be a kick ass team. Her dark eyes tried to soak in everyone's faces before announcing herself.

"Welcome everyone and thank you for auditioning. For those who don't know me, I'm Ms. Martin, Biology." She introduced herself with a warm smile as she pulled the microphone towards center front stage. "I'll be just up there. Step forward of your own volition and begin with your name and the song you plan to sing. Just remember to give the song to the band before hand, they're pretty knowledgeable. Any questions?" She asked before running up to the judging table placed on the landing of the second tier in the audience. She took her seat, flipped to a clean sheet on her pad and clicked her pen, her own microphone stood on a table top stand. Jas placed the sign up sheet beside her as a check off list, more for curiosity than anything else.

A sudden thought occurred to her and she clicked the button on the microphone that allowed her to speak. "Oh, and duets are more than welcome if you're so inclined."

Trevor looked up when he heard a voice come through the speakers and saw the teacher- Ms. Martin he thinks she introduced herself as- giving instructions on how auditions for singing would go. He waited for her to say something about auditions for instruments but sadly it never came up. Trevor stepped into the spotlight and practically yelled, "Uh.... excuse me ma'am does everyone have to audition for singing, because I've never been told I'm a good singer but I'm a pretty good drummer." Trevor had an idea of what he would sing if he had to, but didn't want to embarrass himself.

Mason grimaced at the nickname but let her carry on.  " Aye , there is a lot of different people " He agreed with her as he looked around.

" Same here , but having this many different personalities can either go really good or really bad ". He said before he heard someone speaking through the mic . Mason walked to the nearest seat and sat down, eyes glued to the stage.

@GrieveWriter

"Oh. There's not only singing but dancing and band in Glee Club. However, the rules for sectionals and nationals can be stiff. In the event I need anyone to sub in, I need to know where position them, so I'd like for you to belch out the best you can. And don't be so hard on yourself, we are our worst critics." She hoped she didn't scare him away as she nodded at student confidently.

@Tydguy75

Nathan stopped playing his guitar and looked at the teacher "Let's start then" he says as he looks at everyone on the band and smiled "Everyone to your positions. Let's play some music" he walks towards the bery right side of the stage with the band and they all grabbed their instruments and were ready for the auditions to start.

One by one, the ones who signed up for the Glee Club would give them the music sheet to the song she or he wanted to play and the band would play the song. Nathan sighed and waited for the first person to start his or her audition.

What kind of music would they choose? If it was Nate, he would go for something that was Rock, but it would be fun to see what the others would choose.

(The auditions start now)

Hazel Moss

Hazel scurried into the auditorium. She couldn't believe she was late. Honestly, her cheeks were burning a deep red. She couldn't believe she'd let herself get side tracked by that-that-

Okay, he was cute. But why-

Don't even think about it, Haze. Just focus on your audition.

She took a deep breath and walked further into the auditorium. Yup. From the amount of people sitting around it seemed like she was late. God. She was so stupid.

"I'm so sorry! Am I late? I got caught up in French class and- You know what? I'll just go ahead and do my audition. I don't know how many of you already have- Hello, Ms. Martin!"

Hazel got up on the stage and dropped her bag next to her. She step towards the microphone and breathed out through her nose.

"Hello, My name is Hazel Moss. My range is soprano one to alto one. I'll be singing She Used to Be Mine by Sarah Bareilles."

Baker Collins

Baker grinned widely to himself as one Hazel Moss ran from him. It seemed like she realized the time-

And now, so has he. He made them both late for Glee Auditions. He almost felt bad but he didn't. It wouldn't be a big deal, they were only a few minutes late. It would be fine.

Baker followed after the running girl but at a much slower pace. He quietly slipped into the auditorium, nodded to the teacher, and sat near the others, watching the little fireball up on stage sing loudly.

She sounded like she had practiced a lot. She sounded amazing, actually. But he had heard her sing before. When they were younger they had been really close, high school broke them apart. He wondered what would happen later. If they both got into Glee, anyways.

Lorelai's eyes widened when Ms. Martin mentioned duets. Of course, she wasn't planning on changing her audition song nor singing with anyone else. But maybe, just maybe, she could sing duets with someone in this group later on. When the first girl came in and performed her audition the little shred of hope Lorelai had faded. She was planning on going first. Singing first just to get it out of the way and to prevent the anxiety of trying to be as good as the other girls. Granted, she admired the girl for stepping up first to do her audition, and her voice was amazing. Lorelai followed the girl's path to the microphone, deciding that if she couldn't be first, she'd be second. "Okay, I can't promise my audition will be as good as hers." She said into the mic, folding her hands together nervously. "But hi, my name is Lorelai Stevens, I'm a Soprano One, and I'm going to be singing Secondhand White Baby Grand by Smash."

Warming up her vocal chords by turning and humming the solfege scale, Lorelai looked to the band that seemed to know the song by heart. She smiled at them then turned to Ms. Martin, waiting to come in when the band started to play.

After being told he still least had to try, he was about to walk over to the guitar player when all of a sudden some girl jumped on stage and went up to the mic and just started her performance. She sounded good to Trevor, but Trevor wasn't the judge so his opinion didn't matter much. After she was done, a second girl walked over and started her audition. After the second girl, Trevor took it as his chance and walked over to the guitar player and handed him the sheet, "It's an acoustic cover so I just need guitar." Then Trevor walked up to the mic and said, "Uh.. Hello my name is Trevor Adams and I just moved here from Texas. The song I have chosen is Wherever you will go by The Calling." With a deep breath, Trevor began to sing.

The Calling-Wherever you will go

Mason started to get nervous, everyone was amazing . He fiddled with his hands and thought that he should get it out the way before he get more nervous. Once the boy, Trevor , finished he jumped onto the stage. He handed his music to the piano player and then walked to the middle of the stage.  " Hi , my name is Mason Smith and I'll be preforming Elastic Heart by Sia"

Hazel Moss

Hazel was pretty astounded by all of the talent in the room. It gave her high hopes for their competition this year. She figured they would all get in, but who got solo's and who didn't was based on the pure talent of the voice. You didn't have to be a good singer to sing in the background. Besides, it's easy to train voices. It just takes lots of practice. She shifted a bit in her seat as she watched the others come onto the stage. She knew she was tough to follow--she had been in vocal lessons for a few years now, which did give her an advantage over some of the others. Singing was all she had. She didn't think she was the prettiest or had the best body or anything like that. But she did have her voice. And that's what mattered to her.

Baker Collins

Baker hopped up after some kid sang a Sia song. At first, Baker had wanted to do a rock song, but decided that it wouldn't show off his voice enough. He had also wanted to play his guitar with his song, but decided against it. He might have messed up a chord or something. So, he gave his music to the pianist and stepped to the mic, clearing his throat.

"Hello. I'm Baker Collins. I'm not too sure what my vocal range is, but I do sing so...Yeah. I'm going to be singing Not Alone by Darren Criss."

Natalie wasn't known for her patience, heck the girl even lost count of the amount of times she scoffed and harshly turned down people who wanted to sit right beside her before the judge arrived. She was this close to walking out and forgetting the whole Glee Club ordeal. Fortunately the woman finally appeared and the blonde decided to stick for while. Well, it's not like Natalie's really gonna walk out if the teacher did took longer, she figured that she invested too much time for this to just walk out and pretend nothing happened.

The girl didn't even bother to lend an ear to the introduction of the said judge and the other applicants as she pulled out her phone which color was also eye-catching. She browsed through her social medias, tweeting and announcing to the whole world that she's joining the glee club ( and of course she attached a matching selfie she just took seconds ago). Not a moment and her phone began vibrating continuously, notifications flooding her accounts. Some was commenting and asking why she's planning to hang out with nerds and some was nice enough (or just want to be on her good side) bid her a good luck.

"I don't need luck." the corner of her lips quirked upwards to form a confident smirk before she turned her notifications off and shoved the phone into her purse. Time passed and a number of applicants have already presented their talents on stage. The last one was this dude who called himself Baker and the moment his song ended that was Natalie's cue to stand up and make her way to the band. She flashed the musical sheet right in front of them before handing it and going to the center of the stage.

"My name is Natalie Max Willson although I bet you already know me." she rolled her shoulders into a shrug, "I'm gonna sing Oops, I Did it Again by Britney Spears," the blonde paused dramatically, "with a twist." she flashed the crowd her trademark smirk before snapping her fingers and the music played.

Link to the Song: Idk how to post a video sooo

//Interacting with: {Anyone}// Location: Auditions// Mood: Calm, happy, nervous

Carter was getting nervous and more nervous by the minute. When the teacher came in, she just tried to calm herself and then she walked in. She walked through the doors and stood tall, now building her confidence by the minute. Before speaking she kept thinking about the positives of this and didn't focus on the negatives. "Hello..Im Carter Mason and I will be singing Stay With Me by Sam Smith." she said, while having a small smile on her face. When she heard the music start playing, she tapped her foot quietly to the beat of the song. That was always a habit of hers when she barely started to sing. But once she started singing, she would stop.

Liam Owens

Liam's head turned to face Ms. Martin - whom he recognized as one of his teachers - as she took her place at the judging table and offered the stage to those auditioning. One by one, students began to step forward for their turn, each performance making Liam more jittery than before. These kids were good. When Carter finished up and left the stage, Liam rose to his feet and walked stiffly to take her place. He awkwardly rubbed his palms against the denim of his jeans before speaking. "...Hey, my name is Liam. I'll be singing 'Try' by Pink." He looked to Nathan and the band, giving him a questioning look to verify they were familiar with the song, before returning his attention to the microphone to begin.

Lyanna Mason

After Carter Mason sang Stay With Me, Lyanna decided to go ahead and sing. She was getting anxious to perform, as always, and so after the girl left the stage, Lyanna approached the mic. "Hello, my name is Lyanna Mason. No relation. I'll be singing On My Own from Les Miserables." Tucking a strand of blue hair behind her ear, closes her eyes, and begins to sing. Lyanna was truly losing herself in the music... it was as if she were truly Eponine, wandering the streets of 19th Century Paris, lamenting the fact that her one true love will never feel the same...

Once the song was over, Lyanna wipes a tear from her eye, says thank you, and leaves the stage, finding a seat in the audience. Each time she sang that song the emotion of it overcame her, washing through her like a storm.

Ashley Lacroix

Ashley had decided to follow the others examples and find a seat once auditions began. She leaned back in her chair and smiled as the others went up and performed. She didn't really know whether they were good or not, she thought they all sounded awesome but people had always told her she was too generous with her positive evaluations of others. On the flip side, some of the pieces she considered absolutely terrible were occasionally commercial successes. She figured that if everyone else considered something good then she might as well support their freedom to think for themselves.

Despite not knowing if they were considered good by the masses, Ashley still applauded each and every one of them with a smile. After doing this for quite a number of auditions, Ash figured she might as well do her's. So after the last girl left the stage Ashley rose from her chair and casually took her spot in front of the mic. She chuckled at the sight of the audience and tapped the mic several times before grabbing hold of it.

"Hey all." she said with a wave of her free hand before jerking a thumb in her own direction "The name's Ashley Lacroix, its great to be here today. So uh... this is Titanium by David Guetta. Thought it was pretty cool so, yeah, let's do this."

She nodded to the band and gave a small "Ahem" before starting.

Despite the somber tone of the song and her voice, Ashley just seemed incapable of losing her smile. Once it was over, she gave a low whistle and slid her hands back into her pockets "So yeah, thanks for listening guys!" she said before turning and casually striding off stage to retake her previous chair.

Jasmine smiled and waved at the whirlwind of a student who not only rushed into the auditorium, but then rushed to the stage, accidentally taking the spot of first to audition. She jotted Hazel's name on the note pad. It wasn't just the voice she was looking to assess, but their attitude, how they present themselves and their song choice. Hazel had a strong voice but could also be soft. Her song choice highlighted her talent well, though if not a touch sad. Interesting how her song choice didn't seem to match her first impression.

"Thank you, Hazel. I'll be in touch." She smiled down at the student. Hazel was easily in the club, not that she had much of the opportunity to be choosy with technically not having anyone in the club at the moment.

Loralai, the second act took the stage with a air of determination, yet humble. When she opened her mouth to sing, it was obvious she had nothing to fear from Hazel, though they're voices were different. Loralai's voice was gentle and almost reminiscent of a Disney princess. Second Hand White Baby Grand was a sweet and hopeful song. It was also a theatrical song and already Jasmine couldn't wait to hear her voice in a different genre.

"Thank you, Loralai."

Trevor then meekly took to the stage, if not a bit reluctantly. Jasmine smiled warmly at him, expecting nothing less than an acoustic version of the song he chose to sing. His voice floated nicely and was by no means horrible, it was actually quite pleasant and Jasmine found it hard to justify keeping him on drums. Crap. She'll have to talk to him later about staying on the sidelines, for now, she won't scare him off.

"That was amazing, Trevor. Everyone has been great so far. Keep the talent coming."

Mason took to the stage, another confident singer and straight to the request at hand, singing. Another voice that was candy to the ears and very different from Trevor's which was perfect, she loved getting a range of voices to work with. Sia's songs were also hard to sing and make them your own, which Mason pulled off quite nicely. The more she heard, the more excited she became. Regionals was going to be a piece of cake, Nationals, here we come.

"Thanks, Mason."

"No worries." She responded to Baker about his vocal range, surprised the other students knew theirs. She was honestly expecting a bunch of inexperienced teenagers who sang in the shower and practiced in the mirror. Not that either of those was a bad thing, she did them herself. Baker's voice was smooth and soothing and with singing a song like that she could see all the girls swooning over him.

"Thank you, Baker."

Natalie took to the stage with an unmistakable over confidence that made her smile, it takes all kinds. She did know of Natalie, having heard a range of things from adoration to sheer contempt. Students and teachers either loved her or hated her, but Jasmine never had the pleasure of having her in her class. Everyone loved a good Britney song, not that this was rendition was even comparable, it would be like comparing apples to oranges. It was interesting and she really appreciated hearing a fresh take on a 90s classic pop song. It seemed she sang a song that she felt represented her in both lyrics and tone.

"Thank you, Natalie."

Carter took to the stage, another confident participant with a Sam Smith song. Her voice wasn't the expected smooth RnB voice one would expect with this song, but still it worked for her. She had to give kudos to the ones who choose to sing popular pop songs, as many would have preprogramed expectations about hearing such music. She especially loved the high notes that came naturally to her.

"Thank you, Carter."

Liam's enterance was a little hard to read. She couldn't tell if he was nervous or confident or somewhere in between. He began to sing P!nk, an artist who's known for her attitude. Jasmine listened to his rendition of the song, interested beyond all belief. He somehow made the song slightly haunting, his voice also leaving the listener a little confused as to what emotion to feel and she liked it! It was an enigma.

"Thank you, Liam."

Lyanna took to the stage with a refreshing eagerness. She not only belted out the Broadway classic, but acted upon it as well. It was evident that the student more than just sang, but felt the music as well. An obvious person who was to take stage like a fish takes to water.

"Thank you, Lyanna."

Ashley took to the stage, another student that was obviously comfortable in her own voice. She was cheerful despite the tone of the song, smiling the entire time. It was fine for auditions but another confusing choice. The song perfectly showcased her talent, but not sure it was a representation of her. Now this wasn't a requirement for auditions, but it was interesting to see which students seemed to wear their heart on their sleeves and which ones were a little more tactical in their choices.

"Thank you Ashley." Jasmine closed her notepad and made her way down to the stage to join the students. "And thank you everyone. Its clear here that everyone has an immense talent. And I'd like all of you to be part of Glee. We'll meet in the music room twice weekly after classes with the obvious goal of making it through regionals and of course winning nationals. Hope to see you all Tuesdays and Thursdays."

Shocked, that was the best word to describe Trevor at the moment. Shocked that he actually sang in front of people, shocked that the Teacher said he was good, shocked that everyone that tried out was really good, and most of all shocked that he got into Glee Club for his singing not his drumming. But underneath all the shock, there was another feeling... a sort of happiness that Trevor had never felt before. Trevor always felt like a part of him was missing, even when he played his beloved drums, and he was starting to think maybe singing was that part of him he'd been searching for. Trevor was starting to look forward to Glee Club.

Natalie just knew she was in. The moment Ms. Jasmine's lips curled into a smile while she was on stage assured her that her efforts weren't spilled in vain. Scratch that, actually she doesn't even need to assure herself, her ticket into the club has always been in the palm of her hands just waiting for her to grasp and rub it to every single soul in the entire universe. That's why when the time has come in which the older female announced and decided that she and the bunch of nobody's with her was in, she only arched a thin eyebrow and smirk at her triumph.

"Oh please, winning the nationals will be like slicing a pie. A very soft pie." The blonde teen stopped crossing her arms and went through her purse again, searching for her favorite device. Once she felt it, she pulled it out and quickly tapped scrolled to look for her camera. Once she opened it, she extended her hand outwards and posed for a selfie showing no care even if the whole glee members can probably see her doing this act. She took a good amount of snaps in every angle before spending a minute or two to choose the best one and post it on every social media she has with a caption saying:

♔ nailed it! I am just so awesome!!  ♔

Liam Owens

The auditorium felt like it was expanding, no longer as cramped and claustrophobic as it was before the announcement that they all were accepted into the Club. He felt his shoulders hunch slightly, relieved that he didn't make a fool out of himself. Yet. Now, there were plenty of future opportunities to do so - twice a week, in fact. A thin smile flickered across his face, a brief reveal of pleasure at making it through the audition before he stood up and excused himself, thanking Ms. Martin  on his way out. Tomorrow would be the true test of survival. Once the entire school knew that this bunch of motley teens had rekindled the Glee Club, there would be consequences. Liam hefted his backpack higher as he walked, determined to make this work.

Mason was absolutely thrilled to find out that he had gotten into glee club. Sure he was already in clubs , but they were all sports and he couldn't express himself with sports. He knew that there could be consequences to being in the glee club and he was silently praying that his teammates will try and help him.

Whilst he was sitting ,basically exploding with excitement, he felt his phone buzz with notifications. He opened them to see that it was Natalie Wilson. He quickly liked the picture , because he found it rude not to , and added a comment.

Still in awe from your preformance , totally amazing

He stuffed his phone back in his pocket and sat there for a while. He had nowhere to be so he just relaxed, feeling all his previous stress about auditions melt away.

Lyanna Mason

Lyanna grinned. Finally she'd be doing something other than dancing again. Without stopping to celebrate with the others who auditioned, since she knew none of them, she slung her bag over her shoulder and began to walk through the doors opposite those she came in. A bit of a back hallway, it was where all the art and shop classes were. There weren't very many people back here, especially after school, but the doors at the end of the hallway led right to where her car was parked.

Most of the rooms were dark and empty, the doors locked and the teachers gone. But there was one classroom with light spilling out into the dim hallway, and there was someone in it. Someone singing. Someone singing rather well. Lyanna stops in the doorway for a moment to listen. The boy singing was hunched over what appeared to be some kind of engine, earbuds in, oblivious to the world. He was singing a pop-punk version of On My Way from Brother Bear, of all things. It was kind of funny, to see this big, buff, guy building a machine singing a Disney song, and Lyanna let out a soft chuckle as she stood there leaning against the doorframe.

~Yes, I'm on my way....~

As Logan let go of that last note, he shifted to the other side of the work table, spotting Lyanna watching him from the door.  He started, nearly dropping the socket wrench.  Managing to catch it before anything came to grief, he pulled the earbuds out.

"Jeez, Ly, you scared the crap out of me," he said.  "What's up?"

Carter Mason

//Location: Hallway// Interacting with{ Anyone}// Mood: Happy

When Carter had finished her song and walked out of the room, she was overwhelmed with so many different

emotions. She didn't know what she felt this point. But she was grateful that she finally got the

audition over with. Carter thought she did pretty good, but she knew that she could do better. Walking

down the hallway, she kept her head down as she looked through her messages on her phone

Hazel Moss - - Baker Collins

In no way surprised, but happy with the results, Hazel grabbed her bag. She was about to head out of the room when her eyes caught on Baker. He grinned at her and she rolled her eyes. She stepped over to him and was surprised when he pulled her into a hug.

"Does this mean we get to be friends again? Because you know I honestly have been living such a boring life without you." Baker teased her, pulling away from the hug.

She couldn't help the soft grin on her face from his blatant sarcasm, in all honesty. "I suppose we can be friends again. But if you slip up, I'm giving you the boot... My mom has been asking about you. God knows how often she talks to your mom, she should know how you are." Hazel shook her head, rubbing a hand through her hair.

"They just want us to live happily ever after together, you know?" Baker teased her, pushing her shoulder a bit.

"Mm...yes, after not talking for about two years I definitely just want to jump your bones." She teased back, pushing him a bit harder than he had pushed her.

Hazel took notice of the boy sitting in one of the seats still, and skipped over, dragging Baker along with her.

"Hi! I'm Hazel and this is Baker! He's an asshole, but I just wanted to tell you that your audition was amazing. It was Mason, right?" Hazel asked the boy, dropping Baker's arm as she finished the introductions.

Lyanna Mason

"Disney again?" She says with a smirk, dropping her bag and coming into the room. She stands next to Logan, leaning back against the table and crossing her arms. "All jokes aside, it sounded good, as usual." She runs a hand through her hair to get it out of her face, surveying the parts and pieces laying out on the table. "What are you making now?" Logan wanted to be a mechanic, and as little as she knew about cars and engines, she could tell he was good at it already. That's what his dad did, and so he'd been learning for most of his life.
