I mean, everyone's valuable. Each person has their use and adds to the whole.

Hello. I have been considering what I could bring to the table and come up with a concept I'm interested in, though some bits I wanted to ask about first.

The role this character plays is that of a messenger who will often edit or invents the messages she gives out to motivate those around her to act in ways she wants. She's good at collecting secrets and putting them in the right ear to get things moving. In this, she matches the energy of the mythological figure she takes her role from, Ratatoskr. While not generally considered a god himself, Ratatoskr is often viewed as manipulating the Nidhogg at Yggdrasil's roots and the eagle atop the world tree's canopy into conflict that keeps Yggdrasil pruned and balanced. She spreads tales, mixing truth with fiction, to inspire others to do what is needed to keep the world to keep spinning.
Now, with the messenger squirrel's divinity not being a thing, this still leads to a need for a godly forebear. And while I at first sought to avoid it, the logical answer as to who is Loki. The Trickster God plays well into the personality and abilities I see for the character. This also allows for extra wrinkles in how the character will view gods, tainted by the fact that most of her half-siblings are used as tools, even by fate.

So, would a child of Loki and Ratatoskr be acceptable? If you would prefer a less direct pairing, I could go with only Loki, but the character was raised by Ratatoskr before being brought to Themyscira.

Additionally, whether to start with or down the line, the character would be seeking to share secrets and gossip with the servents of the "Archenemy"
to elicit actions she would find useful, while doing the same to the demi-gods. Would this be alright?

I'm thinking of making Oskar begin to go blind in one eye, but as he does he is slowly becoming more connected to the magic in his veins. And, we're not even gonna talk about the hanging tree... yet.

I'm sorry. He can always come to my character for comfort. Can't fix his problems, but might make you forget them for a while.

Hiiii! I am skedaddling in here to say I think I'm leaning towards making a child of Khonsu, the Egyptian God of the moon ^^ This might be subject to change, tomorrow me might have a different idea but for now this is the deity I'm leaning towards.

snakeg0dd snakeg0dd Are Primordial Deities allowed? I know Selene and Helios are technically Titans so I'm not sure if they would be allowed.

yes a child of Loki and Ratatoskr would be acceptable (as long as Loki is the designated God, as you mentioned) !

and to clarify, are you asking if your character can "play both sides" essentially?

i think there's still a wide variety of Gods to choose from right now, so i think Titans are going to be off-limits right now until the majority of Gods are crossed off. other Gods/God Deities in the mythos are also welcomed too (i.e. Nyx, Nemesis, Ganymede, Ptah, Mekhit)

Yes. For out of game clarity, it is for the purpose of defeating the BBEG, though in game that would be less clear.

yeah, i think that would be a fun idea to experiment with. i will say, the BBEG won't make an appearance for a good bit, so i just want to warn you ahead so that you aren't "waiting at the door" to really kick off your character's arc with this

let's check in btw!!! how's everyone doing, feeling, singing, dancing, all the fun things?

All good. You start small, talking up mortals under the BBEG’s sway who lead you to the next person up the ladder and so on and so forth till you can get an in with management.

Hiya! I’m trying to figure out a Pantheon … but would it be off-limits to do something like two different godly parents from two different pantheons? Or the character being a descendant of someone that was connected to someone with two different Pantheons in their lineage?

Also, I saw that the RP is soon to start — will the thread also become closed if a character isn’t posted by Wednesday?

Does a demigod have to be created through conventional means? I propose that Odin imparted some of his divine essence into an abandoned stillborn, creating Oskar.

No the RP will remain open for as long as I see fit, I just wanted to update everyone in knowing that we’ll be beginning tomorrow :D

mmmmmmm, I see why not? Just remember, the main god you choose as your character’s parents is the pantheon they’ll be living with and derive their main abilities from.

I suppose not. I know another person was asking about reincarnation, and there was a similar idea shot around. I mean, Athena was born from Zeus’ head (some accounts). And the Norse family tree is pretty crazy, having animal parents and what not. So fully conventional, no.
