Fantasy Elemental Kingdom

He smiled slightly before his expression was again a solemn look. He didn't really like dealing with the guards for they first try to pick a fight with him, especially the guards that guard the outer gates. "Good, but stay close. These guards aren't the friendliest of people in this city." he said letting go of the females hand and placing his arm around the females small frame in his grasp. "If you're with me, you are safe. I promise you this." He smiled again trying to reassure her before stepping out into the open, keeping his hand around her just in case.

The guards heard were talking about, but heard someone approaching the gates. They took out their swords, seeing it's the Prince with a girl at his side. The didn't put their swords away, but did put them down slightly. "So, the Prince returns, eh?" One of the laughed out in an unpleasant voice. The other guard laughed as well then asked, "Ha, aren't you bloody royals supposed to be good and stay inside your castle?" Xander glared at the two guards hearing them yelling out towards him. He got to the gate and the guards stopped him with their swords. He stopped patting the girls arm that's right next to him. "So, you want back in?" One of them taunted. Xander just glared at both of them. One of the retreated with a slight fear moving away. "Maybe, we should leave him be." The smarter one said with the small ounce of fear in his voice. "What, why?" Xander grew impatient snatching the sword from the one that kept his sword pointed at him. With the blade in his hand, he'd bend it with his thumb until the top broke off. "That's why.."

Throwing the sword on the ground next to him Xander walked into town, supporting Freyja in case she felt weak and needed someone to help her stand. The guards stayed silent as Xander walked pass them and into the city. He didn't smile, but looked down at her. "Are you alright? If you don't feel well, tell me. I'll be glad to carry you the rest of the way if needed."

Liliana looked down at the one that had spoken up. She saw what had looked like a female at first, but then figured out herself that this was a man. She just smiled greatly. "No, we're fine, just looking around!" She said excitedly at the other. Her bright blue eyes widened always wanting to talk to talk to those in the city. "Actually, if you would... there was a boy here I saw getting beaten for stealing food earlier. Do you know if that boy is alright?" She asked the man with a worried look talking in a concerned tone.

Freyja's cheeks warmed up again as he held her waist and she nodded knowing he would make sure everything went well. With the first step out into the open she almost stumbled already feeling the connection break between her and the forest. Looking back she saw vines curling out towards them but stopping a little ways into the clearing. She frowned and looked away, the pain coming form her home was making the sorrow hard to handle. But she quickly snapped out of it as one of the guards shouted at them. She looked up at him quickly by what the guard had said next, "Prince? You..you didnt tell me you were.." She stopped short due to the guards tone of voice. She had never before heard someone speak in such a rude manner especially if Xander was the prince. She almost glared and wished she could use her powers at this moment. No one should stay locked up, it was natural for one to want to explore and see things. She flinched when they were closer to the guards feeling unpleasant in their presence. She gasped when Xander took the sword and broke the tip, he seemed so human but after that he just couldnt be. At least not fully human. Once inside the city Freyja felt the total loss of her connection with the forest and quickly she started to feel much to heavy and her legs gave out under her. Without thinking she grabbed hold of Xanders arm for support. She was sure he would notice the change in her aura, she was pretty much a human at this point a very very old young looking human. "N-no..I should be fine, its really nothing serious" She smiled at him trying to at least make it easier on him.

"Oh yes, I remember him from this morning. He must have stolen something, I didn't really stay long enough to ask. The situation was resolved peacefully though and he wasn't even arrested after the offence. He paid for whatever he stole and no one had any more quarrel with him after that." Johann explained quickly and of course, as simply as possible. It would certainly not do if everyone knew that he was the one who paid for whatever the boy stole, and that he silenced the guard with a simple stare. If they did not fear the prince despite his... enhanced attributes and they did fear him, some might even accuse him of rebellion. Personally, he didn't want to know exactly how many hours he needed to pull it off. But enough of thoughts of power, there was a question of how she found that information.

The town was wary of the Arm of the Law for good reason, and so no one without equal power, or just plain gall and stupidity, challenged them or even asked about something like that, especially something as low profile as a child stealing bread. So that left him with a few options, that she was there when it happened and was worried, or she was in on whatever scam the boy was caught up in. He was not stupid or naive, he knew there were falsehoods in the world, so much so now that poverty was somewhat commonplace in the small town. It was not that bad, but it was there, that was why theft still ran rampant all over the kingdom. With that, it was obvious that she was the former, her clothes, mannerisms and the obvious horse told him so.

That conclusion in itself begged the question of how she managed to see the act in the first place. When he did come upon the scene the area was devoid of people, it was an alleyway between two building as a little bit too early for anyone to see unless it was from the overlooking library. Even if it was from there, he could only remember one person that would go to the library at such an inconvenient hour, the same person who had eyes just as this rider had, blue and almost hungry for life and freedom.

He had to put on a sincere smile, he was now satisfied with himself and the girl before him. "Is there anything else you need, your Highness?" His voice rung out, kind and comforting as he spoke last, his eyes open, peering into her own azure orbs.

Her eyes widened hearing him utter the words 'your Highness.' She looked out both of her hands in front of her, the palms of her hands placed against each other as her head bows to him. "Please, d-don't call me that." Looking back up she gave him an apologetic smile. "Also, I thank you for giving me this report on the boy. I wanted to visit him in the least." She'd let out a low sigh while messing with the red hair of her wig. She was embarrassed getting found out so quickly. Other days no person would even look at her let alone actually know it was her. She thought she'd had hidden herself well enough.

She had looked around still no sign of the boy she saw from the library window this morning. She thought he would still be out and about, wanting to give the boy and his family, if he had one, a gift of some sorts. Though, it seems he wasn't around so she faced back to the man in front of her becoming slightly nervous of being found out so quickly. I guess it's my fault for asking about the boy instead of finding him myself.

"If you would keep this a small secret?" Her eyes pleading him wanting to continue to be out in the city without being called 'your highness.' or 'Milady.' it really wasn't her style nor did she deserve to be the Princess, after all she was adopted by the Queen herself. "Also, you may call me Azura." She gave him one of her cheerful bright smiles jumping off the horse as careful as she could. It was a bit difficult for her to get off seeing her personal guard was right behind her on the horse. Instead of gracefully landing on her feet as any royal would, she'd fallen on her bottom.

"O-oh.. that hurt." She said sitting on the ground groaning in pain. She still had gotten up pushing herself up with both of her hands. She had patted her skirt and her bottom softly flinching in pain from the fall. "How clumsy of me!" She said loudly turning to the man with her hand outstretched. "Anyways, please call me Azura." Her smile stayed plastered on her face hoping the man would shake her hand in the least.

Johann grasped her dainty and and shook it respectful, using the appropriate grip that was afforded to a lady instead of the firm gentleman's handshake he gave fellow merchants and mercenaries when the patronized him. "Far be in from me too keep a child from being curious about the world around her. But where are my manners? I am Johann Von Ulm, though everyone else in town knows me as Von." He added with a gentle smile, at least attempting to soothe her suspicions.

He had once seen the prince on an escapade much like this one, though he kept his distance, held back by the issue of an impending business deal. He did have to put food on the table, wood in the fire and metal on his forge, so he ignored the young royal. "Please just be a bit more careful this time, Azura. Recklessness rarely does anyone any good." He said with a soft chuckle and a good-natured wink. She did both fall from her horse and just escape the watch of the guards after all. Well not all of them seeing as one was bound to be around here, the older woman perhaps. Still, if she did not see him as a threat, that would make things much easier.

"Also, I would make myself scarce if I were you, your brother seems to be coming into town, and he brought company. You don't look like to type to tell him wherever you're going either." He said before looking back to her guard, then to the horse they once rode. "You both seem to know little about subtlety though so I would suggest you ride out of here. If you do intent to explore the town, loosing the horse would be the most prudent decision, but I doubt our friend here would like that very much."

Though Liliana had jumped down from the horse, Shina had kept and eye on the male Liliana had spoken to to. Her eyes had a sharp look as if she wouldn't hold back if he would hurt her. She had let out a soft sigh, keeping quiet as Liliana had spoken to the man. Her gaze turned back to the rest of town, still listening to the conversation, slightly zoning off in the middle. She then snapped out of it when the man mentioned Liliana's brothing coming into town with another along side of him. "Well, in that case, we need to get a move on it. C'mon Azura." Shina had grabbed ahold of the back of Azura's shirt, pulling her onto the horse. She kept quiet, nodding at the man before them. She made a small clucking noise, causing the horse to walk off. "I'm sorry for pulling you up like that, it's kinda hard not to do it." She smiled down at Liliana, patting the top of her head. She then make another clucking noise, making the horse run off out of the town and towards the forest.

Leaving the guards as is with their shocked expressions that the Prince would threaten them as such. The Prince didn't have to a say a word to threaten those around him. Usually, he just has to glare in order for them to back off, but if they don't he has to show them if they bother him anymore than they had he will not hesitate to hurt them. The guards that guard the doors to the castle inside of the city don't bother him and are more respectful of his presence. He didn't care for much of that as long as he can do what he was set out to do.

When he was further away from the guards he'd feel her tight grip on his arm. "I'm dearly sorry. For you to witness that and for not telling you that I'm the Prince. Right now that's not important." He smiled at her kindly then frowned again. She felt like dead weight against him. All he he did was shake his head, his hair shaking from right to left as he did so. "No, I'm carrying you the rest of the way, even if you say so." At that he'd place he'd lean down, keeping his grip tightly at her side to make sure she was not to fall, placing his hand and some of his arm under her knees. In a swift movement he picked her up in a bridal style, moving his upwards to her shoulder but kept a tight hold onto her.

He continued to walk through some houses in the city opening towards the market, which was near that castle. Getting into the market, in the pathway there was a large horse stopped. Riding it was a familiar woman with blonde hair. "Shina?" He asked himself in a small whisper. Continuing to walk onwards about to asking what she was doing riding a horse in the market he saw another girl with red hair that's off the horse talking to someone else. This made him stop. "Lilia, again?" A sigh escaped from between his lips. "One if these days everyone's going to know it's you or Shina's going to lose you knowimg you go off on your own a lot when in the forest." He continued to whisper to himself his eyes were closed looking as if he was thinking.

Opening his golden eyes stared in front of him. The horse started to run towards him with both females on. Quickly, he ran to the left of him near a fruit vendor in the market. He looked at the prince astonished that he would be in front of his stand. The horse then ran pass them as the horse ran to the forest. "I hope they are careful." He was thinking more about the plants, but he did wish that they both will come back safely. "Stay with her Lilia"

He looked down to Freyja with a reassuring smile, but even he would be a bit worried. "Don't worry about your forest. They wouldn't harm it, on purpose." He added the last two words with a small mumble. He looked to the fruit vendor behind him and gave him a slight smile before being on his way. Once closer to the castle he thought about talking to the same person Lilian a was talking to wondering if he knew what Lilian a was planning to do. Instead he stared at this male that looked slightly, only slightly to Xander, like a girl. When he was near him still not knowing if he should or shouldn't say something. Deciding to say at least to say something instead of stare he'd say, "I've seen you here since I left the castle. Was your real destination the castle or was it just standing here watching others?" He flinched thinking that he did sound a bit rude. "My apologies." He'd sigh softly.

Liliana smiled after the man had taken her hand, giving her a gentle shake. It made her happy that he agreed to calling her by that name other than the formalities or was it just he agreed, because the princess asked her to. Shaking it off, she didn't really care other than the fact he did call her by that name. She was starting to go off in a dream-like state until Shins grabbed onto her shirt again to pull her onto the horse. With a wave to the side she yelled out a, "Thank you, von!"

As they rode quickly out of the city she saw a glimpse, what looked liked, her brother. It was already too late seeing her brother saw her then thought 'Maybe he didn't see me.' A smile was brought to her lips thinking it was her brother. "Don't worry about it, I'm used to...it." She said slowly at the last couple of words. Another thought came to mind that he would know she was with Shins, especially since he had caught her in these exact same clothes. 'Please don't tell anyone, Xan. I trust you with this.' she prayed to herself feeling the wind touch her soft face, but she had to keep a hand on her wig to make sure it wouldn't fall off.

Freyja frowned and was suddenly lifted from the ground, "Xander..I must be heavy! you needn't do this!" She put one arm around his neck to keep herself from falling and she looked around her to see some people staring. Her first day around so many people and she is seen being held by the prince of their kingdom. She looked p at him to see him staring off in a certain direction. She heard a horse and looked to see two woman sitting on the back of one in the middle of the town. Is this strange? She had once ridden a horse but felt bad for she felt like she was using the poor thing. She reached up and touched the side of Xanders head. "You are worried? Are those two precious people to you? I do not wish to get in the way of things" She looked worried and her eyes filled with many emotions. Xander had been so kind to her but she already felt that coming from her forest was an idea she would later regret if it harmed him in any way. She figured if they were friends of his they wouldnt harm her home, she would see for herself if they did when she returned anyways, "I trust that..but..is this what you want?"

Shina didn't noticed Xander, so she had continued on towards the forest. "Lili, I need you to promise me something. Don't run off while we are there, alright? It's my duty to keep you safe at all times, and I'd like for you to be Queen one day." Shina had sighed as she lightly pulled on the reins to slow the horse down. She wasn't quiet sure if Lili would actually stay with her, but she had to listen to her orders. Shina had directed the horse into the forest, just north of the castle hopefully to find a nice place to stay for a few hours. "Here we are." Shina jumped down from the horse, pulling Liliana off right after her. She walked away from the horse and towards a small pond. "Beautiful sight, I haven't been here since I was a bit younger then you." A small smile formed across her face, a small boy from my old village and I used to come down here and play around this pond. Her eyes closed as she thought back to all the memories. "It was fun, actually being with you.. it's like I'm a child again and I can do whatever I want. But I still won't slack off like those lazy bums in the castle. I don't think I've told you this before.." Shina sighed as she had sat on her knees "When I was younger, I lost my family and almost my whole village to a dragon. It hurts to think about it, but I'm sure letting out how I feel could help." Her eyes were fixed onto the pond water, watching it as if the whole memory itself was playing itself out onto the water. She wasn't sure if she wanted to cry, or wanted to hit something. Either way, she lost her family to a dragon and can't do a thing about it. Shina placed her hand onto her lap, as she raised her head up to face the sky. "I miss you.." she thought as a tear ran down her cheek.

At the base of a mountain side on the outskirts of the grand city of Leinor, a silvery haired girl was working tediously within a large cavern filled with all kinds of strange formations. The girl looked as human as any other commoner, except for the tail and ears that were part of her body. She placed a piece of fresh rosemary behind one of the ears that peeked from her hair, thickly furred tail trailing behind her as she hung up new herbs around the mouth of the cave.

The atmosphere of the nearby areas were coated year-round with the scent of this young woman's dried flowers and herbs that carried on in the seasons breezes. Ina, formally known as the white dog of the Baikal forest long ago, greatly enjoyed the scent of these plants and sold them frequently throughout neighboring towns and within the city of Leinor. Many times they were sold for medicinal purposes, sometimes incenses, occasionally teas or even as talismans to ward off demons and malevolent spirits. Miss Tiran took pride in this humble life, and did her best to care for those around her that were in need, to the point of passing on her precious items to strangers if they needed it.

The Inumimi trotted back and forth across the lightly illuminated cave doing various tasks at once under the faint glow of bioluminescent crystals and fungus: tanning and salting freshly slain furs, stringing minty vegetation on the long cords that criss-crossed from stalactites on the high ceiling, polishing skulls, fangs, claws for accessories to be worn. She did these tasks while scurrying on her slender legs, her body was lean and small since she was often had little coin to nourish herself for each day, rarely having the chance to eat meat she hunts since she sells whatever she catches. Ina kept her dog ears hidden under a deer hide cloak in the daylight as she went out to collect more material in the thick and lush forest, fearing that the humans that see her inhuman form may hunt her or cast her out for not being one of them; This in turn kept her Baikal skin fair even in the brightest of summer days, a trait that was an oddity among the hard-working commoners and labourers of the region.

Ina wandered through the thick brush of hearty forests, a single, gemstone-teal eye watching a singing warbler with a deadly desire. She had lost her other, icy eye to achieve this human-like form that she held dearly. The fletching feathers of the end of the arrow brushed her blushed cheek as she drew a stone tipped arrow at the lovely bird, releasing the swift projectile at it's thickly plummed body. She listened with an odd delight as it sang it's perish song, small body pinned to the tree behind it. She nimbly climbed up onto the thin branches of the wood with small bounds and leaps, covering her mouth and nose covered with a part of the hood, careful not to scent the animal's sickly-sweet blood.

The young canine in human form sat in the height of the tree as she began to pry the arrow and bird from the sticky sap that began oozing from the tree, having trouble as the viscous liquid glued her fingers together as she worked it free.

Serephene wandered into the nearest forest, pressing a trembling hand to a wound in her stomach. She hissed quietly, the pain blurring her vision in the slightest. Even though she had received so many similar wounds, this has been the deepest she had gotten in a while. She had been traveling a fairly quiet route when four, if her memory served correct, masked figures had leaped from different directions. Luckily, she had entered a certain state, and managed to beat all four skilled ambushers, but not unscathed. She had been jabbed once in the front, and her arms have been slashed, her left bearing most of the heavy damage.

As she stepped into the forest, trying avoid leaving an obvious blood trail on a perfectly clean path, she felt a strange sensation, one that was comforting, yet protective. Her pain was momentarily forgotten as she closed her eyes to drink in the scent of a healthy, flourishing forest. It brought her peace and pushed away the frightful image of four pairs of eyes, glinting with the urge to kill, all focused on her.

Blood gushed from her wound and she let out another shaky hiss, starling her from the wonderful trance she would like to experience again, even if it was only for another moment. She stumbled further into the growing forest, searching for the keeper, who she seeked help from, as she is not fit to heal herself at the moment. After a minute of forging onwards, Serephene collapsed against a sturdy tree, grateful for its support.

To take her mind away from her wound, she resorted to an activity she was known for: thinking. She pulled out her traveling bag, which was only made of a thin, but sturdy cloth, filled with a container of water, some cloth, her throwing stars, a small dagger and some money she had received from her family before she took off. She dug the water from her bag, as well as the long strip of dark blue cloth. She washed out her wound as she took note of the atmosphere. The trees and plants seemed to be alive and breathing, filled with so much life--as if they truly had souls that matched that of a man, and those very souls surrounded her, and watched over her.

Wrapping the cloth around her waist, Serephene thought on. She found comfort in this particular forest, more than any other she has traveled through in her lifetime even though there are many who have lived longer lives than she has. Serephene knew it wasn't her connection with nature and animals, even though it was quite strong--it was another source of graceful, yet strong power. It could only belong to one who had a kind heart, flexible enough to reach out to others and help them in their time of need, regardless of their past, only wishing that they would live happier, brighter lives, but firm enough to protect with their body and soul. And that was the very keeper of this forest.

The forest at the moment, seemed in the slightest, on edge, as if one of its community members are in an uncomfortable state. If the keeper was here, shouldn't it have found her already? And taking note of that, Serephene concludes that it was the keeper who was missing, and the forest was hoping for her quick, safe return.

Serephene finished tending to her wound as best to her ability, and closed her eyes, sending a silent prayer to anyone who would listen, following the very prayer of the forest itself: the return of the keeper. Very soon, exhausted and injured, Serephene was guided into a slumber. The comforting sounds of the forest lulled her to sleep, and the faint sound of a nearby town, filled with people, reached her reached her ears before her senses closed off, and she lost consciousness.

(I'm sorry if you don't like the way I described your forest--please tell me if you feel that way)

(It is late where I am, so I am going to sleep for now. Good night, and thank you for making me feel welcome, everyone!)

Von smiled as he heard the young royal speak first, through his tone was slightly rude compared to the gentle princess. Must be related to the way he knows he's much more than human. He might even give me some trouble in a scuffle, besides the fact the entire army, the justice system and the nobles would be at his disposal if we did come to blows. His line of thought stopped after the apology. "No harm done, young prince. I was simply strolling the town as much more interesting company has arrived." He replied evenly, eyeing the mysterious boy and the Keeper as his companion. "Of course you knew, just what I was doing, but what of you and your... friend?"

This was a strange day for him, first the bonded one and the halfbreed, then the princess, now the prince and the Keeper. Interesting children were popping up everywhere it seemed, and now he had the pleasure of talking to some of them. Still, he wished that one of them would be a bit more, inclined to conversation as it seemed that they really just stayed a while and left him to wander once more. He was old though, he had teh patience to wait a bit more for a good conversation.

Arceonus looked down at the large lake from the top of the waterfall. It was a thirty foot drop from the top to the lake. From here he could see the true expanse of the forest he lived in, but more importantly he could see the sky. The area he had chose to live in was not only beautiful, but also did not have a full canopy that blocked out the sky. After he took in the full view he sat down on the edge of the waterfall and pulled out a flute he made from a reed like plant that grew close. He had not known much about this place, but he did enjoy the nature. The different plants and animals we quite helpful in teaching him things of this planet when he first arrived. Between their lessons and what he learned from the king and queen he now felt a true resident of this planet. As he put the flute to his lips he remembered when the queen had first played for him, the notes and melody sweet and enticing to his ears. With that in his mind he began to play that same song hoping to remind himself of better times. As he played he could hear the different notes of the forest joining him forming an ansambel that carried on the wind. When he finished he threw his flute into the lake. The material it was made of allowed it to float and in a few moments is was pushed to the shore of a small island that was in the middle of the lake. Arceonus stood up at the edge after he realized that his flute made it to safety, took a few steps back, then ran and dove off the side of the waterfall.

As he plunged into the depths he felt himself getting weaker. His energy was being used up slowly while he was not being fueled by the sun, while was hidden to him by the water. He liked this feeling of weakness, it reminded him that for all his power at times he was no better that any other man. Being underwater also cut him off from the rest of the world and more importantly from his failure. After a minute of so of remembering his past he came to the surface on the island that held his flute. This is where he slept most of the time it gave him a great distance to sense possible threats due to it being in the middle of the lake and it was under the sky, he needed nothing else. As he sat on the island his once baggy pants, now heavy due to water, were sticking to his legs but since all he ever wore we plants that was the only thing he had to deal with. He absorbed the light and used it to raise his body temperature and dry his pants. He had begun to wonder how the kings family was doing, he hadn't seen the queen or he children in some time. As he began to wonder about how the kids were doing his thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of trees snapping and falling.

He turned to the tree he usually slept in when he wasn't on the island and asked " What is going on Robert." He had the ability to talk directly into the soul of creatures with life which was a useful ability since unlike the moon this planet was full of life. "There is a large creature coming this way from the north" Robert replied. Arceonus had never dealt with a creature that could snap trees in the forest before just the normal wildlife, he wondered what had changed. As he wondered, a large red lizard like creature with an equally proportional shell on its back broke the tree line. The creature stared at Arceonus from the tree line trying to gauge him. Arceonus talk directly to his mind. "Hello, would you mind not breaking the trees?" Arceonus asked "I know they get in the way of the sky sometimes but they really are nice people."

The creature stared at him not sure how to react to the fact that a human had talked to him in his native tongue. " I am Asimer the flame beast foolish human." He bellowed "I have come to burn the forest to the ground while the keeper is away and claim this land as my own. I only came here to see what one of the presences I felt was. Now that I know it is a weak human I will kill you and finish what I have planed " With that said his shell caught fire and he charged.

Arceonus stared coldly at Asimer which caused the beast to stop. " I don't take kindly the threats." Arceonus said as he absorbed extra sunlight causing his body gain a white aura as sunlight left the pores in his skin " I also like this forest and many of the trees you just killed, so I will end your life now." Arceonus grabbed his spear which lay up against Robert. It was just a simple wooden spear he had made while he was bored but it would do the job. "You impudent worm you think you can kill me, with a stick no less, I will eat you alive for your foolishness," Asimer said as he charged again. As he worked up momentum Arceonus threw his spear into the air so it was fifteen feet up spinning horizontally pointing at the creatures charging head. He used the power he gained from the sun to jump to the same height as the spear. When in the sun he could use his powers but only on himself and things he had direct contact with but it would work just fine for him. He decreased the mass of his leg and kick at the spear his leg speeding up exponentially, then at the point of contact he increased the gravitational pull, in the direction of Asimer, to increase the mass of his leg and the spear. The force created caused the spear to shoot of like it was fired from a cannon. It created a sonic boom on first contact and then exploded when it came into contact with the hard scull of Asimer as he charged. Asimer dropped to the ground and slid ten feet before his momentum stopped. The flames from his back died down and his eyes glassed over before Arceonus. The impact of the spear had caused a large enough vibration to stop his heart and kill him instantly.

Asimer's body didn't faze Arceonus, he had done this many times in service to the king and on much bigger targets. As he looked as the shards of the spear he said " I really do miss the spear the king gave me. I should have never let guilt make me put it back on the wall in the throne room, it could have survived that kick, it was made by a true god of the forge." He found himself remembering the fully metal spear, that was far to heavy for normal human use, and the stories of the girl/boy who made it. He would have to find that girl/boy and thank him for his work, and also find out why he was called a girl/boy in the stories the king told. As he snapped back to reality he remembered two things. The first was Asimer talking about a keeper of the forest, he would have to find out what he had meant, and secondly how loud those two impacts had been. " To quote a phrase of the king,' Arceonus said voice raising to a yell " Damn this, I hope they don't send guards!" He then ran to the top of the waterfall, away from the scene to a higher vantage point, just in case people came. "Wait didn't he say I was one of the presences?" Arceonus said to himself " Is there another person here." He then put is nose to the wind to try and smell for other people.

"No, you're not heavy at all." He let out a small sigh wondering if this woman really knew his strength. "Neither am I using much strength to pick you up." A smile formed at his lips hoping that those around him will allow him to continue to smile.

He knew it wasn't strange for his sister to go out with Shina, but he couldn't help but to worry this time. "They are..." he paused for a short moment then began to speak rather quickly. "... friends of mine, though one of them surely hates me by now. They usually run off together on what they call an adventure. A bit flashy, they must ride that horse all the time together. I shouldn't worry about them, this is a thing they usually do weekly." He said trying to reassure himself.

Xander felt something soft touch his cheek. His eyes widened for a single moment looking down at the one touching his cheek, Freyja. He listened carefully to the woman though by the end of it the smile that was curved at the edges of his lips twitched before turning into a frown. He had gave her a serious and cold expression. "Get in the way?" His tone was icy, as though his words could freeze other where they stood. He didn't mean for his tone to be so cold. She was one person he started to care for, though he didn't like how she spoke of herself as if she was someone making trouble for him. Shaking his head, his bangs following his movements shaking from left to right until he had stopped. He wanted her to see the inside of the city and the castle he lived in and most of all the forest he had spoken to her about. He stopped talking to her for a moment taking his attention onto the man.

"Please, don't call me that." He said with letting out a small sigh. "Xander is fine." He never liked being called a Prince especially since he was only that because of adoption. In his heart he has always been a peasant like the others which is why he always leaves the castle and tends to a garden as well as helping out the royal cooks. No other knew of the cooking part, but he's sure that most of the city knew he has his own garden that only few guards and the royals walk into from time to time. If I didn't kill my whole village, I'd still be with my grandfather. He thought to himself as he usually did when others call him a prince. He knows he is one, technically, but tends to refuse to accept it. The way he has acted towards the guards made him disliked by most of the guards. "She's never seen this the castle or those whom live in it. I'm showing her." He said before bowing his head respectfully to the man. "My apologies once again, I must be going." Is all he said before leaving towards the castle's entrance.

Once outside of the entrance of the castle he'd look back to Freyja. "Forgive me. You're not getting in the way of anything. I remember you saying the children and the Queen were kind people. You were right about two of the three. I'm far from kind." He looked down at her with a saddened smile. "I suppose I don't reach the expectations of the prince you thought I was." He shook his head with his eyes closed while having been walking into the castle. His boots against the marbled flooring making them tap loudly with each step he took. His garden was just across from the entrance of the castle, but down a longer hallway with many doors on each side.

"I was never supposed to be a prince, either way." He whispered softly while biting onto his lower lip. He was in deep thought about his small village. The other children he used to talk to when he was seven. His only family, being told his real mother and father abandoned him, was his grandfather. "That's why I keep a garden." He mumbled not meaning to say it out loud. When he reached the entrance of his garden he looked up. Any other expression he had on his face vanished instantly. "Well, here we a-" he was interrupted by what sounded like him a loud booming sound coming from outside of the city. "What was that?" He was sure it came from the forest.

Liliana listened to her guard, but didn't actually answer wondering if she should really stay by her side instead of go off by herself like she always does then meet back with her guard safely. She knows she never caused too much trouble around these areas knowing what could be in the forest. It was strange that Shina was now placing a rule that she should stay in her line of sight. That's no fun, but maybe I should. I don't really want to be a Queen, Shikai. I want to travel across many lands. Hearing Shina saying 'Here we are.' and stopping the horse. She was going to get off by herself, but was pulled off by Shina. It made her giggle softly. "Why can't Xan just be the King? I don't want to be Queen." She said letting out a small sigh while tilting her head and following her to the pond. "Is Xan stronger than you?" She asked out loud out of curiosity her attention span somewhat being like a small child.

Hearing her guard go on about the lake and how beautiful it was she had listened wondering what she was thinking. Liliana's eyes widened hearing almost the same thing when Xander had mumbled to himself about where he had lived. He didn't know she was there and overheard what he had said about almost all of his village and the people in it being destroyed by a dragon. It couldn't be Xander, unless he went by a different name back then. She thought to herself nodding softly. Yes it can't be, besides Shina would recognize him. She noticed she was only thinking to herself and maybe she should say something to Shina.

As she was going to say something she saw the look on her face in the reflection of the pond. It was very sad and didn't look pleasant. Instead of what she was going to say, something as stupid as, 'Cheer up! I'll always keep you company.' was not smart or sensitive thing to do even if it was a joke. Instead Liliana wrapped her arms around Shina. "I'm very sorry about your village, but..." She said in a small whisper. "... I've overheard a similar story from something else." She spoke quietly wondering if she should be saying something like this to her especially when the memories of this pond and her village is painful for her. At that she had heard a loud noise coming from the exact forest she was in, maybe a bit further from the spot she was at. It made her cling tightly onto Shina. She really wanted an answer from Shina or something along the lines of a reaction, but didn't know if she would by the noise that interrupted them.

He returned the bow and went to return to his home. There was enough conversation for the day it seemed, and everyone had somewhere else to be. He also had a little time before he had to eat, his stomach was acting up as of late for some reason. He needed to find some food fast, and the quickest way to do that was obviously to cook it himself. He did go out to the market and library to resupply and read but both were taken down. Still, both were just as unnecessary as he still had about a couple day's worth of food just in case something happened.

The trip home was uneventful, but he was a bit peckish so he did not care to prepare the meal he had in mind manually. Quickly 'reaching' out into the cupboard, he 'drew' out the required spices, simple salt and pepper, some white wine for the cellar he had under the armory he build and a large amount of pork belly from his freezer, basically an area to store meats, preserved by a perpetual cooling spell. With the ingredients out in the open, he could make something he had been wanting for a while.

The spices coated the meat evenly, though just the meat, and not the skin and fat portion while the wine enveloped the entire slab just as evenly. Quickly it was cooled, and warmed so that the spices would be set as well as the marinade ready for the heat it was about to experience. A simple fire spell took the place of an oven, evenly cooking the meat in the span of minutes what would usually be an hour or more, while water was added in so that it could be broiled after it was done cooking.

It was lowered onto a dish when it was finished, the crispy skin of pork tantalizingly sizzling while the less dominant aroma of the dish wafted around the dinning room. The bread was taken from his cupboard as well and lowered on to a plate, ready for his enjoyment. Roast pork was delicious after all, no matter how it's made, and it would always taste better when it was made magically. It was much quicker too, ideal for serving large crowds fairly quickly. It went quickly as well, and for him, even as a single person, it was finished in the time it took to talk to the princess. About a minute, three at most.

He sent all the items away much more quickly before he went to descend towards the armory proper, if the loud sound of a crash, and another ringing soon after, did not reach his ears. The forest. He thought in mild alarm before he called forth a pair of spears from the armory, each heavier than a suit of armor. He could not lift them naturally, but to manipulate them with magic was child's play, also they were not for him in the first place. he was too old to actually hide from, and he had known the presence of the moon child as soon as he fled from the castle.

He exited the house, moving as fast as the winds dared to move without breaking the barrier, his destination was the forest. He could only hope that the moon child finished the beast off before he got there, he needed a little time to repair the forest as well, time he did not have as the Keeper was still connected to her home. He could only break the barrier as soon as he exited town, reaching the source of devastation in a heartbeat.

The form of the beast was large and hideous, though as it lay dead before him, it was basically harmless. To destroy it now would be dangerous to the rest of the forest, as well as making himself known as a powerful magician. He was also looking for one who recived one of his weapons before, the one who was sniffing the air like an animal as he watched curiously. "Greetings moon child, the King had told me much about you." He greeted with a light grin as he playfully threw the heavy spear at the younger being.

Arceonus was surprised when the first thing to break the tree line was a young looking slender boy, with long girl like hair. He was then surprised again when that boy was carrying two spears similar in make to the one he had left in the throne room, those had to weigh a ton how did he carry both. After a second of thinking to himself he came to a realization. "Wow I think that's the boy/girl from the kings stories," Arceonus said " But what is he doing here with the spears no less." Arceonus decided to stay at the top of the waterfall with the sun behind him to hide him from anyone who might have come, but this boy had been able to get here in a short amount of time and spot him out while he was sniffing for the other people in the woods. "He is not a normal boy, that was too fast a reaction." Arceonus said to himself taking in his scent " He smells of age, I think he is much older than his appearance may show, not that i'm any different."

When the boy had called, Arceonus was caught off guard. He wondered how he knew he was from the moon, his ears and tail were hidden in all but moonlight. Then, as if there wasn't a need for more shock, the boy finished his sentence by telling him the king told him Acreonus' history. Arceonus' eyes widened when the small boy playfully threw the, what he knew to be overly heavy, spear thirty feet up a waterfall to him. As he caught it Arceonus instantly knew this was almost the same spear as the one he had left, the only difference being it was missing a small bend from when he had broken a mountain side to cover an escape. Arceonus smiled as he finally was sure of the identity of who had called out to him.

"It is a pleasure to meet you," Arceonus said as he jumped off the cliff reducing the pull of gravity so he could lightly land in front of the boy " I have heard many stories of the boy/girl who made the spear I once wielded. The fact that you are here must mean that those to explosions were quite audible but, where are my manners, welcome to my home. What brings you over I doubt you had come with two spears to take in the sights. Also, while it is fresh on my mind, thanks for the replacement spear. My last is a little....." He turned towards the splinters and wood dust looking for the right word " disintegrated?"

Serephene stirred from her sleep, and a sound, similar to that of an explosion waking her from her dreams. She forced open an eye, taking a deep breath to satisfy her need for oxygen. She winced and let out a low groan of pain before crouching over herself slowly, her breath quickly becoming shallow, the pain of her wound getting to her again. There were great forces in this forest--she felt their presence. She brought herself to her feet, slowly, only to fall back towards the tree, weak from lack of blood. It seems that the Keeper wasn't back yet.

Defeated, Serephene leaned against the tree, looking around her at the forest. She had left a thin trail of blood, and she silently apologized to the forest, feeling guilt rise up for staining such a beautiful area. She looked down at her bandaged torso, and found that the cloth stopped most of the bleeding. Her hands were stained, and blood trailed to the floor, leaving a small, crimson pool beside her.

Luckily, if she stayed still, the pain was duller, and to relax herself, she hummed softly, recalling a song she had written earlier. She thought of what she would write for lyrics, but as usual, nothing came to mind. So she just continued humming, eventually falling into another light sleep.

The white dog's body jolted as the sound of a nearby explosion rang in her ears, she ripped herself away from the sticky sap that covered her hands and tucked the small feathered mass away, leaving her crude arrow within the leaking bark. She slides down onto another branch, quietly leaping down on the thin limbs of the tree fearing a threat, a large leather satchel bouncing on her back next to her quiver, holding the kills she had taken. Ina scented distinctive warm, irony scent of blood wafting nearby somewhere on the forest floor. She quickly started towards the smell with a grimace on her hidden face, Ina began wrapping the extension of her cloak over her nose trying to not breath in too much of the familiar aroma as she followed it.

The fallen leaves of the forest were stained with the dark fluid, leading to a human woman as the thin trail thickened at the fresh mass. The girl put her arm in her bow to hold it without her hands, leaning over closely at the human to inspect her as she hummed a sweet melody. Her head spinning from the overwhelming smell of blood, but the dog kept herself composed as her skin began prickling with fur. "Miss, are you alright?? Please speak..." Ina pleaded as the woman's humming eventually faded in her sleep. She pulled herself up a branch scampered up the tree with agile movements, keeping her whole body shrouded in a cloak as she stood on the thinnest branch she could at the top of the tree. Ina slipped the extension off her face and cupped her hands around her lips "Please! Somebody is hurt! Help! I need Help!!" Ina called in the direction of the explosion from earlier, hoping guards were there to investigate the sound "Please! Come quickly!!!" the young woman called again with her sweet voice.

"Who did you hear it from?" Shina stood up as she let out a soft sigh. Though she wanted to know, she also hear the noise further into the forest. She stayed in front of Liliana, her eyes glancing in every direction. "Lili, come with me. If we get separated remember to hide and not to make any noise." She looked over her shoulder at Liliana with a worried look on her face. Shina walked around the pond, as she pulled out a sword that hung from her waist. Her breathing was normal, she wasn't even afraid. Though in due time, more memories had reached to her. "Stop. Just stop." Shina had thought as she placed her free hand upon her head. Moment's later, the noise had stopped. "Lili, stay with the horse. I hear something other then that noise we heard." She turned her head back, with a slight glare. Shina took a deep breath, running off into the forest. "What's going on?!" She yelled out into the direction of the woman's voice. She ran a bit faster, hitting her destination slightly sliding on mud when she stopped. "Everything alright? I heard you yelling from a distance." She had to catch her breath before standing straight up, her eyes then spotted the wounded woman. "I'll need to take her back to the castle to give her medical attention." She walked closer to them, her arms crossed over her chest. "I promise, I'll make sure she'll be alright. Do you know who she is?" Leaning down, she moved one of her hands to feel around the wound. "I do have some herbs that I could put on here so where it wouldn't become infected." Shina had pulled out the bag of herbs she had received from Liliana, pulling out a small leaf as she crushed it in her hand. "This may sting a bit, but it will help." She had moved her hand over top of the wound, lightly patting the herbs onto it.

Ina carefully climbed down the large tree, hands gripping tightly to the rough bark on her descent. She pulled the extension of the light brown cloak back over her nose and mouth at the strong smell of the blood, hood shading the bandages on one of her eyes. The white dog shook her hooded head, feeling guilty for not being able to use her healing magick on the wounded woman, the magick transmutes the energy around her into the being to heal them. But she could not do this in the forest without the presence of the keeper. "I'm sorry, I do not...I was just collecting some materials when I came across her blood." She replied in muffled speech, her voice quieted by the extension on her face. Ina smiled at the herbs she crushed, calmed by the thought of a herbalist somewhere in this region. "Please help her! This human needs attention quickly....Please, I will help you anyway I can." Ina pulled the wounded woman's arm over her shoulder after the guard's woman applied the herbs, carefully pulling her sleeping body up. "Are you...in the service of the royal family?" the white dog asked, excited by the words castle. She was once in service of a kingdom from a faraway land and cared for all the people, but her blunders caused her exile. "My kind woman, please......do you happen to know if I could be of any use in your abode? I grow many herbs within my home that could aid any medical procedures. I am a good servant...and a fine warrior as well..." Ina said, careful with the woman's bandages as she pulled her up.

Freyja merely reacted confused to Xanders sudden change in tone. She was not yet used to others emotions, "I pray the forest keeps them all safe...I do not wish to see a sorrowful expression come across your face" She put her hand to her chest and closed her eyes. The other person speaking to them made her uncomfortable, she wasnt ready to speak to others yet. She wasnt even sure why it was so easy for her to communicate with Xander. She turned her head to face Xanders body. She didnt relax anymore until she felt the swift movements of him walking once more. She looked up at him when he began to speak again but she frowned, "I had only heard the talk off visitors in the forest. I do not judge someone based on stories from others..you are by far the kindest person I have met in my time. Prince or not." The feeling of being disconnected from the forest grew inside her heart, like a mother missing its child. But she hoped all would be well on her return. But she watched his face as they walked, afraid that he would think that she expected more. She thought she felt the presence of earth, green earth when suddenly a boom echoed over the town. She gasped and looked around. "Where could that have come from?"
