Dreams of the Second Age - Additional IC

She points at one of the smaller areas. "I suspect here. This area," she indicates the massive area, "is much too large to be explained by the small chamber that houses my children. It could also be here," she now points at the rooms that contain your sleeping chambers, "even if it is a little large for the four of them."

"I make no guarantees, but perhaps we can get a little closer."

Araneus taps the spider on his arm, and it comes to life once again, sliding up his arm and listening to a whisper of "What is in the first chamber indicated by Laeeyta?" before the spider does a quick backflip and vanishes into the webs of fate.

Nikola nods, "That would be because that is where we awoke, not long ago. Though, I will admit, that large area is of some interest to me, but I suppose I will look into it another time. Before then, though," he points back to the area she first indicated, "There is where you believe them to be?" He then pulls a hearthstone from one of his pockets, the Stone of Scrying, as he says, "Allow me to check as well." He then focuses intently on the stone, seeking out a vision of where the Elder Dragon Kings would be.

Nikola quickly discovers that the area is blocked from scrying, and Araneus gets a response from his mini pattern spider that this information is not readily available.

"Whatever's there, they want it hidden. Perhaps it is those of your blood, but we will not know for sure unless we look. Good boy." Araneus pats the spider on the head and gives it a tiny piece of ambrosia, which it nibbles on fiercely before sliding down his arm and becoming a large black tattoo again.

Pyter leans back in his seat. "Well, I had little enough trouble getting through the Underways to find you guys, it shouldn't be too hard to do the same for the Sleepers that our host wants back. Then, we can start to make arrangements to train and equip them to face off against this Goblin King's forces and sweep the city of them."

Leeayta rises, and walks over to a nearby cabinet. "Let us drink to a successful partnership. I have been aging this for many centuries, saving it for a auspicious moment to open it." She pulls out a bottle of aged wine with dust on it, and a half dozen cups that she passes out to everyone. As she pours, she asks, "Have you made contact with the other gods o Rathess? Shining Flower and Relza? I am sure they will be quite interested in being a part of this venture as well. Now, let us drink."

Araneus's Prior Warning does not indicate any pending danger, and the Goddess herself is taking a sip from the same bottle as you, so it should be safe to drink.

Aredin puffs on his Panacea pipe leisurely between drinks, "You are actually the first god we have contacted, would you mind spreading the word to the others?"

The wine is excellent, seeming to slide down the throat without touching it. Leeayta nods. "I can contact them. We have ways to keep in touch. But, it is late, and there are things that come out at night that are not pleasant to deal with. Perhaps you would like to enjoy my hospitality this evening and stay here? I have not had guests here in an Age."

Although Zen doesn't drink much, he does accept the drink offered. He takes a small sip and nods in return to Niko's toast.

At Leeatya's offer of hospitality, Zen looks towards his fellow exalts for their approval. It was a very generous offer and Leeatya had more to lose by putting them in danger than not, "If my fellow circlemates don't object."

"We have not yet spoken to the others, though we were on our way to speak to Relza when we were interrupted." He looks at the glass and then looks up to Laeeyta, "Do not take this the wrong way, but one must be careful and I do not feel comfortable without indulging my knowledge of politics in the Heavens. It is no assault against your character, but against my own."

He reaches into his own personal space and pulls out what looks like a fairly large sized wine tumbler, and commits the essence to neutralize anything that might cause harm as he takes a long drink.

Niko nods as he takes in the flavor of the wine, saying, "I would find it an honor to stay here, personally. Though I tend to leave plan making to the remainder of my comrades who are more suited to that sort of thing."

"Many of you may hesitate to back this plan, but I would like the chance to cure Filial Wisdom of his madness. He could be a very powerful ally, and I think killing him outright wastes a lot of potential. My suggestion is to let me approach as though I were a friend coming to offer counsel, if things begin to go awry I can just leave instantly to my manse. Even if this fails, I think it would at least get us some insight into what takes place in his 'court' no?"

"I will agree to that under one condition, that either Pyter or I are in a hidden position ready to strike should that plan inevitably fail." Araneus continues drinking from his poison neutralizing glass and stretches out again.

"No, I want to do this on my own, so I know that no one is at risk. You Sidereals have had your fun killing Solars, and I will have this one get a fair shot of mending his ways. That and he will probably detect you if he is as powerful as I suspect."

Niko makes his way over to sit next to the Goddess, gesturing to the map and saying, "So, how much of this -has- been explored?"

There are fifteen different levels to the Underways, most of which have been used as the city's main place of business and commerce for thousands of years before the rise of the Deliberative. That being said, most of the passages will have been well used for a long time. The area set aside for your personal stasis chambers and weapons cache was carved out of the rock using magic and carefully warded to keep outsiders from getting to you as you slept. It is likely that the area that the Dragon Kings are in has had the same done for them, too.

The area that seems to perplex Leeayta the most is the large blocked out region, connected down on level thirteen. To ward that large of an area is a sizable undertaking, and something of that scale would have to have been done by Solars; no one else has the level of power enough to do the trick.

Moving up, Rine gave the Ward an examination, to see if he could deduce it's intended purpose and any weaknesses it might have to allow him to bypass it.

From here, you are too far away to be able to divine any weaknesses to the wardings. You'll have to be on site and examine them there for that.

While all of the scrying attempts are made, Leeayta busies herself and prepares a chamber for you to sleep in while you stay in her sanctum overnight. Food is provided, along with more wine (almost as good as the earlier bottle) for you to enjoy. The goddess informs you that you are free to look around the museum, but asks that you stay inside the sanctum until morning for your own safety. "I will not stop you from leaving sooner, but I cannot be responsible for your lives if you do. Not only do the wild stalkers and the Goblin King's forces wander about, but with nightfall, the dead fill the streets; ghosts and shambling zombies wander about."

With that warning delivered, she leaves you to your business while sending messages to Relza and Shining Flower. Is there anything you wish to do before morning?

"I'm going to be taking a nice, long rest. Can't guarantee I'll sleep, had fifteen hundred years of that. But I would feel better letting myself refresh before we go back out into the crowded city."

Pyter nods in agreement. "I have not had as much rest as you, so I suppose I shall get some sleep. I am somewhat concerned with the numbers of ghosts in the city; I was not aware that the nearby Shadowland had such an influence on this city. Something to keep in mind."

"Shadowlands are definitely not my thing, though perhaps I will have to discuss some things with the gods of epidemics and plagues once I'm back in business. Mass death will need to be significantly more controlled."

"Speaking of which, I forgot to mention it earlier but I was wondering if you could send a message to Ahlat later. He and I were on good terms before I headed into cryo-slumber and he will be a good ally after we reclaim Rathess."

Pyter taps his finger against his chin. "I can do that whenever you are ready to. I know Infallible Messenger, and whatever message you dictate to me I can pass on."

Zen nods, trying to think of a way to indicate it was him, before nodding in realization, "Tell him: 'You owe me a game of Gateway. 123 wins to 123 losses.' Let's hope he still remembers."
