Dreams of the Second Age - Additional IC

Pyter takes a few puffs off of his pipe, then nods. "Very well. I can tell you that there is some unpleasant fellows lurking down in the Underways, but most of what you'll run into is nothing more than an irritation to Exalts of your caliber. We shall leave when you are ready."

"Do it. For now we will have the element of surprise. Nobody in the city knows we even exist. Let's keep it that way for now, shall we? I'm ready to leave when you are." Zen said before he looked at Pyter again, his expression odd.

"This may sound like a meaningless question to you, but have you ever heard of the Brass Leviathan? Its location, anything?" he asked.

"Hmm. I've heard of it, but at the moment, I don't know its location. Why? Do you suspect that it is here in the city?"

"It's..." Zen sighs, "Let's just say that it was the major reason why I decided to leave the Deliberative behind and leave it at that. If you ever find its location, please let me know as soon as you can."

"In that case, save the scouts for after we get out. But let Zen and I lead the way out." He nods at Pyter, and activates his cloak, becoming obscured once again. "I will take a quick look ahead just to make sure we don't run into anything without knowing."

He seems to vanish as he steps through the doorway, scouting ahead to get a quick look at what might be lurking past the defenses.

Rine began the rituals to both conjure forth the Greater Minions of the Eyeless Face, as well as Invoke it to gain greater power over the minions he would command.

Zen leads the circle out of the cavern, vigilantly searching for any sign of danger. His blades are at the ready, ensuring that he would be ready for anything that might show up.

Aredin smiled at the challenges from his circle, "You act like I don't advocate punishment." Aredin continued counting his collection, pulling out a large Composite Onslaught Crossbow with a smirk. Seeing the group head out, he proceeded to stash most of his belongings back in the cache and banish it. On the road, Aredin would simply trot through the shadows, allowing his shadow ring to obscure his presence in combination with the resplendence raiments.

Nikola, the last among the party to awake from his slumber, emerges a bit shakily to find things already well underway. He takes a moment to appraise the situation before retrieving his cloak and slipping it on, saying quietly, "Oi...I hate oversleeping." he then makes his way over to Aredin saying, "So, what is situation, comrade? In brief, of course."

Aredin simply passed over the automated dictation his artifact pen took while he was tuning his string instruments and inspecting his weapons. "Long story short, dragon-blooded need help but are too foolish to seek it. New enemies appeared, et cetera. Right now we need to deal with a reincarnated but still mad Solar by the name of Filial Piety."

Reads over the report, then rolls his eyes, saying, "But of course they do." as he checks over the rest of his gear, "At least we will not be too ill-prepared for it this time, eh? Perhaps we might just pull the element of surprise."

Walking out of the warded chambers, you are struck by the humidity and smell. It is obvious that the mechanisms to keep the air fresh is not working here. You also see signs that there were several attempts made by someone to get into your stasis chambers, but the various layers of protection were enough to keep you unharmed and your supplies safe. There are several damaged automations out here, that you can probably fix up and get them working again with the spare parts you stored away in your cache. Once you have made it to the outer chamber, Pyter takes the key out of the slot in the door and seals the room up once more. He looks over at the group, "Just to make sure that everything stays in your hands. Do one of you wish to take the key, or should I carry it?"

On your way down to this level, you remember taking one of the subway transit cars to a nearby station. Pyter doesn't turn in that direction, though. "The tramway system is only partially functional, and the monsters that serve the Solar use them to move about the city. Best for us to just take the long way out."

Some sections of the Underways show signs that the bio-engineered plant life to bring in clean air is still working, while in other spots you can tell that the plants have died out. Overall, the tunnels show themselves to be in fairly good condition considering how long it has been since they have seen any kind of repair work. A testament to how well the original engineers did their jobs.

Moving cautiously, you manage to make your way to the surface without anything attacking you, but you did hear the sounds of creatures scuttling around in the darkened tunnels around you. Looking about the ruins, you notice that two of the four Flying Towers have collapsed. The two that still stand still reach nearly 3,000 feet into the air, and it is possible that there are still some working airships parked in the landing cradles, but you'll have to go up to the top to see.

Give me Perception + Awareness rolls, please.

It is only then that Zen truly comprehends the full length of their absence. Rathess was now a feeble shadow of its former self. But he moves forward, pushing his emotions aside as he takes in the surroundings, always remaining vigilant.

Araneus stays hidden as they make their way out of the caves, and lets the solars make the decision about the key, since most of the things there are theirs.

He looks around for amy ruins or buildings that are still standing and makes a quick jump to reach a little higher ground as they take in the terrible state of the city.

"I can take the key, for now." Said Rine, now followed by an entourage of faceless, featureless, milky white servitors. He surveyed the surroundings as best he could, and gave the Eyeless minions a command to be alert for danger, lest any of them somehow miss anything.

Nikola slips his pair of Plasma Tongue Repeaters into his hands as he steps out of the tunnels, looking around at the dismal state of affairs and saying, "What a waste...Perhaps we can return to this place once the affair regarding this Solar is worked out, and repair what has been lost." He takes a moment to navigate to higher ground, jumping up onto some rubble, and from there onto a broken segment of wall, which he climbs as high as he can without getting spotted, giving him an excellent view as he surveys the damaged and destroyed buildings layed out before them.

As you look around, all of you can see that around the top of one of the Flying Towers is what appears to be a flock of small birds. But then, you realize that with the size of the Tower, those small birds must be huge; man sized at least, perhaps larger.

Araneus and Pyter both know that the entrance to the sanctum can be found at either one of the remaining Flying Towers, but she may not take it well to have a bunch of strange Exalts come stomping into her home uninvited. Her big domain is powered flight over the city of Rathess, so if anyone were to try to get to the airships on top of the Towers, that will probably get her attention.

Araneus hops down from his vantage point, seemingly appearing out of nowhere as his cloak shrinks down to a scarf again. "I'm not sure what those are from this distance, but that's where we need to go. We'll want to try and get to the airships at the top of the towers."

Aredin raised his hand above his eyes, looking at the ships, "Shouldn't be a problem, just give me a moment." Aredin shuffled through his pocket for a second raising his hand bearing two globes of transport, another relic of the Dragon Kings, mounted with his Home's Hearth stone and his Jewel of the Lawgiver's Authority. "I can take three people the rest of you will need to use this other one, at least until we can find time to upgrade the capacity on these things."

Chuckles, producing the two transport orbs of his own, saying, "I am thinking these might be of some assistance. Though, we will have to be fighting our way out still, I think."

"Fighting what? Depending on what the opponents are, we should still have diplomatic immunity active if we are going to see the Goddess."

Aredin nods toward Zen-Aku, "I have faith in Zen, we should be able to handle any setbacks we might run into."

Araneus shrugs at all the transportation, "Well at least we aren't short on transport. But yes, he's right. At the very least Pyter and I should have some immunity with the Gods themselves, but Zen and I can also handle anything that can't be talked down, as well."
