I have updated the first section of the Mechanics page. Please read up on the section "Let's Talk About Ki". I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and intrigued by what is provided about the science of harnessing energy and releasing it in physical form.

Attention, attention!!!


There are a few abilities in the DBZ universe that our characters will NOT possess, so I shall list those for you now. I decided it would be more fun and interesting if our characters discovered these abilities for themselves.


So here is the list of techniques and special abilities which our characters cannot and will not possess when the RP begins, and please note that some of them will be off limits entirely and not discovered at all during the RP (and I will explain each one more in depth below the list):

1. The ability to "sense" Ki or energy of any kind outside of their own bodies
   
2. The ability to hide their full potential from a Scouter (specifically Advanced Scouters)
   
3. The ability to create Ki waves of any size or shape that can "cut through anything" such as Krillin's Destructo Disk technique (even though it was seen to fail once or twice)
   
4. Techniques like Goku's Instant Transmission
   
5. Techniques which allow one to read the mind of others (like Goku inexplicably did in the Namek Saga when he read Krillin's mind about what happened on Namek before his arrival.
   

So, the ability to sense Ki outside of our character's bodies is something they will learn in the RP. Everyone will be able to figure their own method out, but I will be sure to post Era's discovery of the technique to give you an idea of how it's done and where you should start. How you go about perfecting it is up to you, but everyone will follow Era's example.


The ability to hide your "full potential" from the Scouter is something we'll have to learn as well. Right now Scouters, especially the Elite level Scouters, can read the full potential power of an opponent as well as whatever power level they're currently using. So if your full potential is 4,000, but you're only using 1,500 of it, the Scouter will display both levels. In order to fool the Scouter into reading a single power level to help surprise our enemies and play to our advantage, we'll have to discover how it's done and I have a special NPC lined up and ready to introduce later to do just that.


Techniques like the Destructo Disk, Instant Transmission, or telepathy from Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu are not allowed nor will they be discovered. All three are potentially overpowered and an excuse to God-Mod, so I have elected to remove them from the RP entirely. You'll have to be more creative with your techniques and not piggy back off of the show. This is not DBZ. This is something altogether different, so I am doing what I can to prevent the show from creeping in wherever possible.

I believe I've provided ample time to complete profiles, so as of 6pm Pacific Standard time this evening I am opening the RP to posting for Anime King Kaleb as their characters have been approved.


For those of you who are still working on your characters and wish to be involved, I will be holding back on advancing the story or allowing Raids to take place until you are finished. However I must ask that if you still plan on being involved that you complete your profiles either by the end of tonight or by tomorrow evening by around 6pm PST. I have provided you with an ample supply of questions on the first page of this OOC thread as well as ample information in the RP's Mechanics with which to fill out each major section in the profile with relative ease.


If you know that you cannot complete the profile by tomorrow by 6pm PST but still wish to participate, then please let me know so I don't consider you having dropped from the RP. If you know that you can't complete it by tomorrow evening, and in the event you do not wish to participate further I will delete your character from the Character Sign-Up page and let you be on your way without a fuss.

If that's not an invitation to anyone who visits the Interest Check to come check out the RP, I don't know what is.


Nobody is required to ask my permission to join and therefore they don't need an invitation beyond the one I provided in the Interest Check.

The "Overview" page has a character skeleton with all the required information and BBCode. You can select everything inside and paste it to the "Character Sign-Up" page and fill out the info. If you need help doing so, the first page of this OOC thread has a series of questions for you to answer to fill them out. Any further questions not addressed by the provided list can be asked of me directly.

True. When I first created the list, I didn't have a Training History in the character skeleton.


But the same basic types of questions apply. So here are some examples:


* From whom did they first begin learning combat from?


* Was the training based on hard, soft, or a mixture of both styles?


* What kinds of techniques did they learn during training?


* Did they learn their master's techniques or did they create their own techniques?


* For how long with their first master did they train?


* If they have had more than one master, who were the others?


* If there were others, what were their styles compared to the first master's style?


* What techniques, if any, did your character learn from these other masters?


* What, if anything, did your character learn training and sparring with their peers in their formative years?


* When and if your character became part of a Raid Group, what, if anything, did they learn from the stronger members?


* What did they learn, if anything, from the Commander?


* Were there any special techniques learned from the Raid Group, or did your character choose to develop their own techniques?


Questions like those will fill out the section quickly.

@Anime King Kaleb, this is not group training because it's just demonstrations and practicing a new technique. In order to count as group training, our characters need to actually fight and take damage over time.

Hey guys!!


Just an update here!


I figured it'd be a good idea to create a thread dedicated to keeping track of all of our respective power levels as we increase in power throughout the RP. I have requested an "Updates" page, which should be up sometime before the end of the day.


Once the page arrives, I would like you all to post your character's information using the following example to do so:

[b]Current Power Level:[/b] (supply their current power level)

Fill out the two power levels as requested, and beneath this information I'd like you to supply your expected path to Super Saiyan.


This will be a long and detailed pathway of power which will be subject to change. But I will supply this information for you right now: There will be a total of 6 major battles before we face off against Overlord Inecros, during which time our characters will be in for the fight of their lives.


In between these six major battles, you are free to determine for yourself how many smaller skirmishes or battles you'd like, but try to keep them to a maximum of 5 as you shouldn't need that many.


The ultimate goal is to have your character's power level be between 2.5 and 3.8 million by the time we face off against Inecros. I don't care where in that range it falls. But your task is to figure out how to reach that range within that 6 major battle minimum. If you want to add a few other smaller skirmishes along the way, that's fine. But if your calculations exceed 3.8 million, you've gone too far and you must recalculate at least one battle to lower your expected power level by that time to within the allowed range.


The reason for this is because I want all of our characters to have the potential to become Super Saiyans by the time we face Inecros, but during the battle only Era will do so for story reasons. But it won't take long afterwards for the rest of the characters to find their place within the Super Saiyan world.

There is some information on Raid Groups in the Mechanics page about how they're formed and who comprises the officers of the group, so to speak. If you still need further information then just let me know.

Your characters don't have to be in Era's Raid Group if you'd prefer they'd be part of a different one.
