Fandom Dragon Ball: Limitless!

Hey guys! Good news and bad news!

Bad news first...

I will allow a pass this time, but from this point on please consider the following whenever your character undergoes a training period in the RP:

Pushing your characters (literally) to a breaking point where bones are broken is not training. That's torturing the body and is not something Saiyans would willingly to themselves, let alone each other as it's nothing short of foolish and dishonorable to execute excessive force on a training partner no matter how well you know them. You don't just break bones willy nilly, no big deal, put it in a sling and everything's a-okay when you're training. A broken arm is a broken arm even for a Saiyan. Breaks of any kind are incredibly painful and would split any Saiyan's concentration to the point where they could focus on little else and then they're all but taken out of the fight.

So in training, do not... I repeat... do not deliberately break bones to play "catch up."

Large power gains are what real combat is for, and you'll have plenty of chances to do so properly in real battles to come.

Now to the Good News... There is a battle coming up very soon so those who have been falling behind will have a chance to do something about it in a truly meaningful way. Inecros is sending Scouts our way and there will be one or two for each character to deal with.

The main point is that training in this RP should do one of two things: The first is acclimate your character to newly acquired power levels, and the second is to give them very small and subtle gains in power while emphasizing a learning experience over serious power buildup.

That's what training is, after all. It's a learning experience. Small gains in power is a bonus the Saiyans will enjoy, but I emphasize small gains because the main point of training is to learn something about yourself and your training partner (if you have one).

I will stress again that you will have plenty of opportunities to catch up in power level if you feel that you're falling behind. Remember this RP is not based on equality anyway and there will be power level differences throughout no matter what happens. Our characters will not be equal to one another. There will be a power level hierarchy as we move along and it will shift with each new battle and favor those who chose to do more for their characters within reason and within RP guidelines.

So from now on breaking bones in training is not allowed unless you get approval from me for something to go horribly wrong. Large power gains are for major battles, not training.

Thank you!

Hm...I've realized that since Karas' robots are at his beck and call, he kind of subverts the whole "power levels" thing. It's his ingenuity that's his greatest weapon, not his combat prowess. Especially since, well, there's the whole "Death by a Thousand Cuts" mechanic of the robot army. Karas will only fight if he needs to, since he knows he's too valuable to risk his life. But by "power level hierarchy", do you mean an actual hierarchy or just power tiers?

It's just a method of expression. As the RP continues the group will have a certain level of disproportionate powers. Someone will be the weakest. Someone will be the strongest. Everyone else will be in the middle.

It's not going to play into who's the "leader" or anything. After the battle with Inecros, let's just say there won't be a point for a "leader" position anymore.

Hm...sounds ominous.
Heart wrenching is what I'll be going for. But we'll see if I'm good enough to pull it off in the future when it actually comes around.

@Kyero, I had Xol deliver the supplies myself, since different species would have better transportation technology than the Saiyans due to different trade policies and I figured that I should be the one to handle the Insta-Kit scene.

Indeed. No worries.

Here's an interesting idea I came up with. Training sequences between multiple players take a LOT of time, and hold off the story. So why not request a few more IC tabs? We can use them for training sequences so that you can focus on the story and we can move on. Keep in mind, to keep the RP rolling, we only need to list the injuries and power/skill gain. Everything else is just for fun, like the rest of the RP. We're probably going to have a lot of multiperson training sequences, so when it isn't important to the story (examples of important training being the Hyperbolic Time Chamber), we can keep it out of the original IC thread so that people like me who tend to have one post per IC day don't end up waiting forever for others to finish a training sequence, and allow us to continue on with the story.

I wouldn't be opposed to this, as long as it doesn't get in the way of progressing the story.

That was exactly my point. Effectively, it enables multitasking. The training partners can train while the rest of us do our character posts. There is a downside, in that once the story moves forward it will be a bit hard to come back to an ordinary training session. Of course, timeskips and summary posts can be used in conjunction with this, but an advantage that the training tabs/threads have over these other methods is that it gives us something else to do while waiting for the story to move forward.

Also, what do you say to a one-on-one? You game? Or was your post in response to my second post?

Think we should wait for Kyero before we go ahead with it, and I am about to start a fight with Nei which I am looking forward too. But if we want to do a non-canon fight or just get started on another duel we will eventually have if we have enough time before the story progress, I'm up for that.

Alright, I'll set up a thread tomorrow.

A good idea.

EDIT: Request for new page has been sent. It should be up later today.

Also, I'm not getting notifications for this even when you tag me for some reason. I do apologize for any delays in response due to this unfortunate turn of events.

Yea, the notifications have been weird. Whenever I get one, I just check everything now to be safe.

Another idea. For away missions, such as Urod taking on the Au-Rath crime family, it would be interesting to see that in another tab. Of course, we would only use this if there were players involved.

So I thought Karas' original appearance looked a bit too much like an Saiyan Empire version of Gohan. So I fiddled around with DBXV's character creator and bought some in-game clothing, and I think I've managed to make a much more unique version. Only problem: You can't alter the colors of Saiyan Battle Suits in DBXV, probably because most of them were generic garments that only varied by color really. For example, Gohan's Cell Saga Battle Suit's pants and Vegeta's Battle Suit pants are just different shades, Turles' Battle Suit is essentially Raditz' but black and without the armband and legband, etc. The in-series justification makes sense: they're standard-issue military garments, designed to be manufactured in massive quantities. However, I think the in-game justification would be that allowing you to alter the color of a Battle Suit would allow you to duplicate higher-tier Battle Suits in appearance, making purchasing or unlocking them meaningless. I am unwilling to spend hours on the same PQ for a screenshot. Thus, Karas is miscolored. Still, I think this looks cool on its own. I may actually leave him like this. IDK.

EDIT: Of course, we'd have to remove the Ginyu force logo. I only chose that one because it was the only Battle Suit that had an underlayer.

Agreed ... I think it suits him. It is pretty stupid that you can't alter colors. For my Dicchio and Raze's appearance, I was going to use two of my DBXV characters but my game system was broken by what I call SLS

Mind if Nei and I have this fight I've been working on and then start working on repressing the power during the days of bed rest after? Times been tight so I haven't done much on it yet, but still like to get Itta's ass kicked again.

I have a post incoming which will describe the process for everyone. Hang tight for around 10 minutes.

I am now preparing the long awaited "sensing energy" and "hiding power from a Scouter" techniques!

This is also in preparation of a time skip and an impending battle that will take place allowing everyone a chance in full to take advantage of their new potential.

Be warned that there is a caveat here to the first announcement: Learning what Era has to teach your characters will take time.

Her explanations will be thorough and almost foolproof, but at best your characters will just barely learn it in time for the event and may not learn it in time at all if you'd prefer to go that dramatic route. Remember these are techniques which took Era almost two full weeks to practice and learn on her own and she was spending day and night meditating on the processes without stress of any kind. You have five stress filled days to get the job done as well as basic duties around the base so the circumstances are hardly working for you. So either your characters will learn the techniques (or one of them) just in the nick of time or they will fail to learn them (or fail to learn one of them) in time at all and have to prepare for battle as is.

Once I have posted Era's lesson after your next responses to Korvaiis' order to gather on him you will all be free to post for your character's actions over the course of the entire five days that are ahead. This will be a time skip worth seeing rather than glossing over, so don't skimp or spare any details in describing exactly what happened from day 1 to day 5.

Karas, for instance, is now being asked to get the base ready for stealth mode so he'll have to get to work on that while programming the bots and learning to sense and hide his own energy all at the same time. He's got a lot on his plate, and I want to see all of it. Also if he needs to discuss anything with the Commander or Sub-Commander I give Genon leave to take control of them for the duration of his post.

Itta will have just finished training, so after getting his ass kick'd he'll need to rest for a day or so to get to a point where his body is capable of relaxing enough to focus on the tasks given to him. So a day of rest and four days of rigorous practice in these techniques are on his plate and I want to see all of it. As well if he interacts with either Koraviis, Urod, Nei, or Kendra, I give Denezen leave to take control of them for the duration of his post as well.

Making sense how the time skip will work everyone? We're all going to participate in pushing this time skip forward while making worthwhile additions to personal character growth learning these techniques, so make this post is thorough and provide all the details that you can about what happened to your characters over the course of the next five days leading up to the event.

But remember Era's lesson comes first, so a response to Korvaiis' call to gather is in your future and once Era's lesson is complete you will be set loose on your 5-day post.

I will take charge of kickstarting the battle so preparation for that event is as far as you'll go. You will simply post for your five days and on that fifth day your characters will be hunkering down trying to remain as well hidden as possible in preparation for the passing of the Scout Vessel.

Once everyone has posted their five days worth of activities, I will bring the Scout Vessel into the fray and the battle will begin.

Enjoy yourselves with this!

Man, Karas is going to either go full mad-scientist mode off of this or just utterly crash after an Era-like work spree.
