There is a stigma that men are more powerful than women, but I beg to differ. I’ll show you the power of a Saiyan who is also a woman!

sil_eph_by_kumoriryuu-d9d6u7n.jpg

"To grow up alone is a fate unbecoming of a Saiyan, but it has made me stronger than I dared hope. I can only continue to hope, and with luck I'll always have Era by my side to push me to even greater heights."

Era and Sil were perfectly in sync as usual rocketing forward through the ranks along the perimeter of the mass of bodies in the air. Era would slip through and break the defenses of their target, Sil would provide the finishing touches. One fell. Two. Three. Four. Five. One by one Era led them through the mass of bodies fighting only those she knew they could take down with minimal effort and it was proving most effective.

Meanwhile Korvaiis made a beeline for the ship itself batting away anything in his path. He knew that if the Scout Vessel sent word of their location to Inecros they'd lose their temporary home and base of operation and all of their work thus far would be for nothing. Not only that, but it would put their allies in danger as well and that he could not afford.

But just shy of the ship he was intercepted by the one Era said was the strongest of the bunch. Sure enough when he checked his Scouter the power level was 38,000. That was 6,000 ahead of his own, but he was not overly concerned. If worse came to worse he could call Tragedy and Comedy to his side to help out as Black Comedy.

The fight between the two strongest warriors on the planet began with a bang, literally.

Their punches collided and caused a concussive burst of power which pushed away everyone in their local vicinity. They then began trading blows at a rapid pace. Each blow held bone crunching force which would shred a lesser being clean in half as Korvaiis had done before. The enemy's power level advantage seemed to be giving him the edge in the fight though as Korvaiis was struggling to maintain the same level of speed as his opponent.

Korvaiis began to take the worst of the assault for a while, but before long it became clear to him that Tragedy and Comedy would not be necessary.

Korvaiis had now seen and committed his enemy's attack patterns to memory and began taking full control of the fight. Every punch, deflected. Every kick, evaded. Every Ki blast either deflected to the side or evaded outright. His advantage was gone. Korvaiis had held out long enough to push him to show his techniques and now the fight was as good as his. One of the perks of being a prodigious talent with photographic memory.

Korvaiis took control and whittled his enemy down to size before finishing him off and forcing his way on board the ship. He didn't have time to figure out a path through the halls so he simply flew straight through them one by one breaking his way through every wall and door until he found the control room.

Once inside he found those in control of communications and proceeded to violently incapacitate and torture them until they agreed to do as he commanded. They recalled all previous transmissions of life on the planet as well as a transmission which they were prepared to send but never had the chance to about the fact of the group's occupancy of the world. Once he was certain that Inecros would not know their position or come looking for them here, he killed everyone in the room.

He flew outside and began charging a powerful Ki blast which he then used to destroy the ship in its entirety. Safe from transmissions which could reveal their location, they had only one thing left to do here and that was finish cleaning house.

However, Korvaiis was going to keep one of them alive to send a single transmission about how they had moved on to another planet far away from this location and been ambushed by an aggressive species. Their ship had been destroyed almost upon landing and he would be the last survivor to send the signal that their "current" location was hostile and in need of destruction.

Korvaiis knew exactly which planet and race to target as well.

Era and Sil were having a ball with the lower ranking enemies. With their new powers it was literally a breeze to just fly through and annihilate them one by one. They'd already killed over 20 enemies in less than five minutes which was a new record for them. They'd never have been able to do this with power levels of 250 and 300. Both women were thinking the same thing: This is marvelous.

But it didn't stay that way for long.

Era and Sil were soon intercepted in their path by an upper Elite member of the enemy force which was not good. Era judged his power to be in excess of 17,000, probably 18,000 which was more than both their powers put together.

This was not going to be nearly as marvelous as their fights thus far, but they were not about to just back down.

But from the get go it was clear they were in for the worst fight they'd ever experienced up until this point. Both of them charged their enemy but were batted away before being able to even get close enough to land a punch. His size was much greater than theirs at nearly 7', and his arms and legs were much longer than theirs. Both women composed themselves and regrouped to try again. They charged at different angles, but again were both batted away rather easily.

The two women joined up again, and Era found a few drops of blood falling to her chest. She wiped her nose and found a red smear across the back of her hand. Not exactly what she'd been hoping for after just two blows. Even if his power was more than twice her own, blood this early in the fight did not bode well. Sil was in the same position with a small streak of blood dripping from the left corner of her mouth.

Their enemy did not stop their though. He charged the two women faster than they could even react to him and slammed his fists into both of their stomachs which effortlessly knocked the wind from their lungs. They floated down grasping their stomachs and trying to regain their breath, but were then slammed in the upper back by his elbows which sent them both crashing to the ground below causing large plumes of dirt and small craters upon impact.

Era was the first victim of a more vicious assault. She was pulled free from the crater by her hair and slammed in the stomach with another punch causing her to cough up a rather sizable amount of blood. She was then thrown into the ground and then picked back up by her hair once again and tossed into the sky. She was then subject to the punching bag treatment where he landed over five dozen blows against her before kicking her downward into the same crater he pulled her out of. The crater was now three times deeper than it was before, and Era was unconscious and not getting up.

Sil had made it to her feet but was no less the subject of the same kind of treatment Era had received. She too was beaten and battered around like a rag doll before thrown down into the crater she was pulled from. She wasn't unconscious like Era was, but she was close. Her vision was blurring and her mouth tasted like blood. She pushed herself up onto her knees as he landed in front of her.

Sil tried to stand but was now too weak to do so. Instead she could only stay there on her hands and knees trying to keep herself up as he looked down at her and began gloating about how weak she and Era were. Sil didn't like listening to it. After all they'd been through. After all of the power they'd attained. They were still weaklings in the grand scheme of things. Their power felt like it was worth so much more than the number on the Scouter, but right now it felt like it was just a spec of dirt on a glass table that was being swept away by the maid.

Apparently Era felt the same way.

From Era's crater her signature red aura had since erupted to life and Era was now floating out of the crater with a murderous scowl on her face. Sil began to feel the heat of it. She knew this could only mean Era's power was skyrocketing like it had been against Commander Korvaiis when he insulted and berated her in training. Based on the heat Era's power had to be reaching similar to even greater levels than it had against the Commander, and Sil let herself lay back down to protect herself from what was coming.

Era's power was indeed skyrocketing to the point where everyone who was actually wearing a Scouter would have been alerted to it. Era's power, thanks to her anger and humiliation at this creature's hands, had now broken 30,000 and was still on the rise. Against the Commander it was just embarrassment. This was something more. Apparently the more deeply rooted the negative emotion in the outburst, the greater the power increase.

Era's power halted at 35,000 and she raced into action streaking across the sky into her enemy like a red lightning bolt. Her punch tore through his stomach and out the back snapping his spine in two causing him to instantly go limp on her arm. She then pulled her arm free and threw him into the sky before letting all of her power out at once in a massive Ki blast which caught over 200 extra soldiers in its path and vaporized all of them on the spot and greatly seared the body of the creature she'd just impaled. He was dead, but his body more or less still in tact. Those enemies with powers of only 4,500 or lower, vaporized.

Era's power dropped like a stone after that causing her to faint from exhaustion and power loss. By the time her unconscious body hit the ground her power had dropped to 5. A far cry from the 35,000 it had just been. Sil crawled over to her friend and put her hand on Era's arm just before passing out herself.

Both women were now out of the fight leaving the rest of the team to finish the job.

Itta's heart skipped a beat as their location was known. A primal fear coursed through his blood as the thought of a legion of soldiers, whose average strength was over five times greater than his own, now where coming to kill him. He clenched his teeth and forced subjugated his fear. He swallowed his cowardness and instead built up the rage inside of himself. He was know in the first battle of his life. He was up against an impossible number of strong soliders who wanted nothing more to kill him, those who have accepted him, as well as his entire race. The fear on his face melted into one of pure rage at the thought of what the enemy wanted to do.

Now in the proper mindset, Itta still had to think like a proper warrior. The first thing he wanted to do was to charge forth with the robotic army and destroy the fodder as it came. But even the drones Karas built where unfairly stronger than him. A weak warrior like he currently was would only get caught in the cross fire. His second thought was a more cowardly one, but would definitely have more of an impact. Remembering how his spar started with Korvaiis, he could overcome his low power level with tactics. As the metal sayian army took to the skies to create the fireworks of battle, Itta dashed though the city into the nearby forest. His lower power level than the robots and other sayians would make him easily ignored and have an easier time taking out more priority targets.

The tatic worked very well. As combat boomed over head, Itta would sense the enemy with the highest energy or seemed to be giving the most orders in combat and rush towards him from the ground. The enemy, not expecting to be flanked by a low ranking soldier, would be caught off guard. Even with their superior power level, an unexpected twist through the neck or hole through the chest is not a survivable experience. A few soldiers would usually notice their squad leaders death and chase Itta as he went back to the low ground. However, Itta was much more familiar to the forest terrain than the invaders, and with his new ability to supressed his ability for small amounts of time, would ambush his pursuers.

He repeated the proccess multiple times, only resulting to fighting when necessary. He sustained quite a few injuries from the quick fights, only winning cause his superior opponent relied to much on his power level than his own skill. But every lucky blow against him was like being hit by a truck. His armor was all but gone, leaving him bare chested and bloodied. The tattered remains of his gloves hanged loosely from his arms, protected by his start during the fights. Overall though, it just felt like intense training that has gone on for too long.

Then, their ship exploded.

Itta faintly felt when the commander killed their strongest warrior. A loss of that much power even he could feel. And now their commander seemed to have taken it a step further and destroyed their transport to the planet. A cry of victory escaped Itta's mouth as he briefly rested in the forest having just dealth with another group that pursued him. Over the course of the battle, the front lines have become blurred. Every enemy solider seemed to have a robot combatant now and all seemed on edge having their ship destroyed before their eyes. Itta took this as an opportunity to abandon his hit and run tactics. Powering himself back up to as full as strength as he could, he launched himself off the ground as he has down so many time before, but now with the intention of saying up till the battle won.

The invaders seemed to be in a state of disarray where Itta was. Most authority figures have been removed, the robots continuous attack, and the destruction of their ship. Their morale was suffering heavily and thoughts of retreat itched the back of their heads. Itta knew no guilt from taking advantage of the warriors who have lost their fighting spirit. It didn't matter if his opponents' strength was greater than his if they didn't have the will to use it fully. Itta himself was the opposite of his foes. His spirits couldn't of been higher. His strategy worked perfectly, taking down many enemies stronger than him, and the victories of his commander filled him with a sayian's pride to the point where he thought himself immortal.

As he made his way through the ranks with the drones at his side, Itta soon made the mistake of getting too caught up in the conflict. The mistake of throwing away his worry made itself all to apparent as a drown was blown apart with a single blast from above. Pulled back to reality, Itta looked up and saw a warrior, already firing another blast aimed directly at him. Itta froze as he looked at the bright white light that came from the soldiers hand, as it got brighter and warmer. The invader was shouting something about revenge for his men, but the weak sayian was too busy staring death in the eyes.

Itta blinked after the light faded from his eyes. The last thing he remembered after the light was being pushed. Looking around, he noticed the scrap of a drone where he was a moment ago. It seemingly sacrificed itself to save him. Now in control of his scenes once again, he turned his attention back to his new foe. Itta's stars glowed brightly around his fist as his opponent prepared to fire another energy shot. His opponent was leagues stronger than him, and seemed intent on fighting unlike his men. Itta knew he was at a disadvantage, but could at least have some support from the nearby drones who seem to be having more of a handle on the situations than other areas of the battle. Even so, Itta knew the odds where not in his favor as he stared down his next opponent.

Raze smiled as the battle started. Since he ended up mastering both techniques (to some extent) he disguised his power level as a measly 167. After a while, two grunts, with power levels in the 1000s. Raze smirked, as he charged a beam shot, and he let it fire, brutally injuring one of the grunts, as Raze was actually at 880, meaning his attack had a damage level of around 4000. As the the other grunt was shocked and confused, Raze rushed and hit him with a Ki Punch, effectively disconnecting his head from his body. Raze smiled and thought on wonderment on his new power level and techniques. He quickly came back to reality, as he was then spotted by an enemy with a power level in the 1,000s. The enemy rushed in and he and Raze entered close combat. Since this enemy had a power level of 1,404, Raze was doing that bad against him. Of course Raze, did get a couple of broken teeth and all that stuff, he was doing well. What Raze didn't know was that while he was fighting was that their was 2 more enemies, both with power levels in the 3,000s, were sneaking up on him. After Raze kicked the foe with the lower power level, he was grabbed by both of the higher leveled enemies. He struggled to get out of their grasp but was unsuccessful. One of the enemies laughed and decided to hold Raze's arm straight out. When it was fully extended, he brought his knee up, quick enough and hard enough to break the bone. Raze howled in pain. Both of the grunts with the power levels in the 5000s let go of him. One of them smiled sadistically and created a knife, similar to how Era's skill Power Lance is created, and stood about ten feet back. Suddenly he threw the energy knife towards Raze, and it stabbed the left side of his stomach in the intestines area. The three grunts continued to torture him, including bashing his head in multiple times, causing Raze to have a serious brain damage, for like 2 more minutes, until they decided they were done. As Raze was now laying on the ground, with a broken arm, brain damage, and a bleeding stomach, one of the grunts started charging a power ball, that would surely end Raze as his power level as dropped dangerously low, to 14. Suddenly someone yells "Ki Kick Ball". The three grunts look confused, until a giant ki ball encloses around all three of them. They were too late to escape. Dicchio kicked the ball into the air, then back down to the ground, and then back up into the air, and this continued until the total number of hits was 20. This time when the ball went down, it continued down and imploded when it hit the ground, doing around 22,000 damage to each enemy. They were down for the count. Raze who was about to pass out saw Dicchio. Dicchio was doing fairly well, although Raze could see that Dicchio obviously had a broken bone in the rib cage, however Raze didn't know that Dicchio had experienced serious trauma to the head, causing his brain to swell. Dicchio slowly dragged himself over to his friend and when he reached Raze, he fell to the ground. Before passing out himself, Raze could see that his power level was now down to 12. Raze chuckled as he went unconscious.

Xol, still sitting on top of the hangar, monitored the battle's progression from his suit. He zoomed in at specific points on the battle, trying to get a bead on where he should focus his energy next. Then, he tuned his power scanner to detect Saiyan energy signatures to see who needed help. He noticed that four soldiers were already down, and that the Saiyan named Itta was facing down an enemy massively stronger than him. The fighter Itta was opposing had slightly more energy than Xol himself. A complete mind-control would be impossible, and driving him insane would be too much of a wildcard, so the best thing Xol could do would be to attempt to reduce his will to fight to more acceptable levels.

Xol's mental power barreled into the soldier's mind, but the soldier was putting up significant resistance. Enough that Xol wouldn't be able to get in. But Xol could keep on hitting that impenetrable wall until the soldier began to feel physical pain. The officer Itta stood across from unexpectedly clutched his head in agony, eventually screaming in unspeakable pain as the consequence of a desperate attempt to keep his mental fortress secure. This, naturally left the soldier wide open. A voice piped up in Itta's Scouter as Xol's face popped up. "That's my doing. Have fun beating him senseless."

Karas watched as the ship exploded, and the enemy forces were sent in disarray. He could sense the Commander's energy near the explosion, so that was obviously his doing. But also felt the energies that belonged to Era, Sil, Dicchio, and Raze drop to dangerously low levels. "Team 3, Squads 1 through 4!" he said into the scouter, "Engage Rescue Mode. And if you come across any salvageable robots, bring them to Vault 8, use Vault 9 if it fills up. Karas, out." With that, the soldier bots began their arduous task. 400 robots left their posts and began collecting the wounded and salvageable. Raze, Dicchio, Era, and Sil were picked up gurney-style by two robots each and gingerly carried back to the medbay. Robot parts began to gradually fill Vault 8 over the course of the battle.

With that out of the way, Karas decided he was going to end this NOW. "Comedy, Tragedy, Maximum Power!" Karas ordered. The two robots obeyed his order. The way the fusion worked was much more simplistic than one would imagine: Comedy and Tragedy were designed like stackable boxes in a sense. Tragedy walked behind Comedy and latched onto the white robot. Tragedy's legs and torso locked into Comedy's own from the back, doors opening up in the robots' connected surfaces in the calves, thighs, and torsos to unify the walk cycle and allow the two robots to share ki, data, and processing workloads between each other. Tragedy's head did a 180, facing completely backwards, giving the new robot a complete circle of vision. The arms remained unlocked, leaving Black Comedy with four arms to use in hand-to-hand combat. Karas had always thought the end result looked rather suggestive, but at the same time it was really all about practicality. After all, sexually-reproducing enemies wouldn't be able to laugh very much after they had their heads ripped off or their innards blasted out their backs.

With the fusion complete, Karas uttered the four deadly words: "Black Comedy, Slaughter Mode." The fusion stirred into action. Tragedy's recoilless plasma cannons emerged from its back, flipping upwards so they faced forward. Then, the robot leaned upwards, raised its autorailgun and laser battery, and charged a massive attack. The ki buildup alerted the entire horde. A large portion of it, composed of the idiots, the glory hounds, and the very, very brave, quickly began attempting to move towards the large robot, hoping to take it out quickly. Other, more smart soldiers stayed back and prepared various ki blasts. With the strongest among them now being 30,000, it was unlikely that they would be able to do much individually, but with that many enemies, Black Comedy might have its hands full.

Luckily, the robot was already prepared to unleash hell. Massive scattershots of plasma launched out of the shoulder-mounted cannon barrels, using both Tragedy and Comedy's ki reserves to unleash a massive blast. Tragedy's set of two arms waved to and fro, as the combined combat processors of the two robots ran a kinetic model to decide where they should hit to precisely eliminate each enemy. The weaker ones were taken out in droves by the automatic magnetic gun, the stronger ones were either melted internally or set ablaze by the powerful laser, and for the truly tough ones, ordinary ki blasts were necessary. Thankfully, Comedy was also armed with palm-mounted ki cannons, resulting in four arms-worth of annihilation. Soldiers dropped like flies, their corpses hitting the ground with painful-sounding thuds, even causing Karas to feel some sympathy for them despite what they were trying to do to both his people and the more innocent alien races.

However powerful Black Comedy was, it still was only one robot. Against a force thousands of times greater in number, it could only slow down the encroaching horde. However, once the first of the horde touched solid ground about 50 Leid away from Karas, Team 4 and the rest of Team 3 sprung into action. 2,100 much weaker robots began riddling the horde with ki blasts. And of course, the whole time the ki turrets were doing a number on their forces.

At this time, the soldiers who were charging their strongest ki blasts finally fired in sync. It appeared that a second-in-command was still leading the forces to some degree. The relentless barrage of ki from both sides set the area alight, destroying several thankfully-unoccupied buildings and catching Karas in the blast zone.

Karas had attempted to fly away once the horde fired their devastating volley of energy, but he wasn't fast enough. Dozens of ki blasts impacted his frame, first making him lose his balance in the air due to an impact in the side of his back and corkscrew like a madman, then fall to the ground, and finally, put several new holes in his armor, along with many burns and scratches on his skin. His constructs were still holding firm, filling the enemy with plasma, but then a soldier came down to finish him off. The impact from hitting the ground, after Karas' aura was reduced by the damage he took, had broken several ribs and his flesh arm.

The soldier, massively stronger than him with a power level his senses estimated at around 10,000 (reaching for a Scouter at such close range was suicide unless it was for an SOS signal) lifted him up by the neck and attempted to choke him out. The soldier gloated as Karas' vision began to turn greyscale from the oxygen loss. Karas couldn't give the SOS signal without using his Scouter, which would alert the soldier to his resistance and probably result in a quick death. And he wasn't unconscious, so the rescue robots wouldn't come to his aid yet. But he knew his enemy's anatomy. Borodians had vulnerable abdominal areas. So, with all of his strength, he kneed the would-be killer in the abdomen while punching him in the eye with his prosthetic arm, causing him to double over in pain, clutch his bleeding eye, and drop Karas like a sack of dumbbells. Karas got to one knee, feeling like he was about to die. Which he probably was. He could barely concentrate anymore. His right arm was at an unnatural angle, likely broken. There were several bruises all over his body, along with countless scratches, cuts, and bleeding wounds. By this point, the soldier had recovered, and if looks could kill, his would have been a war crime. He kicked Karas in the side of the head, knocking him over onto the hard ground. Karas still wasn't out yet, but his vision was fading. And he was so very tired. Yes, sleep would be good...

Then the soldier started screaming at an excruciating volume, clutching his head. Xol was penetrating his mind now, Karas knew. As Karas faded into unconsciousness, the soldier's screams began to subside. Xol had taken complete control over one of Inecros' many lapdogs, and promptly made the soldier put a hand to his face and blast his own head off with a purple ki wave. The corpse collapsed to the ground, its brain completely disintegrated. Karas was promptly picked up by two rescue robots and carried to the infirmary, placed in a bed like the rest of Raid Group 02A.

----------------------

Xol hated doing things like this. He took no pleasure in ending lives, unlike many Saiyans. But now the robots would come to Karas' aid. Karas seriously needed to work on his coding. It was likely that the robot's standing orders had prevented them from helping him before. Xol, now angry beyond words at Karas' wounded state, began wreaking havoc in earnest, his power level skyrocketing to a massive 70,000 as he began destroying any sense of order the soldiers had left in them. Soldiers began hallucinating that they were being chased by malevolent gods. Soldiers began eating their fallen comrades. Soldiers began killing each other, singing and dancing, or eating their own poop. The force was in almost complete dissarray by the time the Zy'leth's power lowered to a normal level. And unlike emotional control or mind control, an insanity inducement was the equivalent of corrupting a computer; completely irreversible without specialized help. And Xol wasn't giving any "specialized help" today.

It was coming to a close quite rapidly.

Korvaiis scanned the battlefield and found with his Scouter that only one of the "Elite" warriors of the enemy force remained. His power was a paltry 16,000, literally half his own. He flew to the elite's location and made quick work of him to complete the process of destroying the chain of command leaving only low levels remaining all seeming to be going mad. This had to be the work of Xol. It was impressive, and rather frightening to think about the possibilities that this kind of mental control could bring about.

As the battle began drawing in to its true and final conclusion, Korvaiis returned to the base and gave the order for Kendra, Nei, and Urod to gather at his position. All four were exhausted but otherwise in good condition save for a few nice bruises and cuts they'd all gained along the way in their battles. Nei and Kendra's powers, due to exhaustion, had dropped significantly to around 8-9,000 each with Urod's having dropped only to 19,000. Korvaiis himself was quite tired as well, but had most of his power still at his disposal which he was somewhat disappointed about.

The base's defenses had done their job a little too well and prevented him from being able to engage some of the stronger enemies himself save for the one he took down before destroying the ship.

Still, it was better than nothing. As the last of the enemies were cleared out, Korvaiis ordered the robots which remained to ensure cleanup was taken care of. The bodies of their enemies were to be disposed of and the scrap metal of defeated robots gathered as per Karas' earlier order of being taken to storage.

It took several hours, but it was done. The area around the base was cleared of enemy corpses and the scrap metal of what was once their ship as well was salvaged as best it could be and taken to storage.

Korvaiis then made his way to the Medical Bay to check on his comrades. Era and Sil were quite the worse for wear, Era especially so with a power level just barely holding at 3 having dropped from 5 earlier when she was first brought to the Medical Bay. She only had one shattered bone, but unfortunately it was her left femur. If not tended to properly that could turn into a serious medical issue even when she recovered. Four other broken bones and seven major muscle groups were severely damaged as well.

Sil was a similar story. In fact it was almost uncanny how similar their injuries were. Korvaiis could only conclude that their enemy deliberately attacked them the same way in an attempt to give them the same injuries indicating a rather intelligent and anatomically savvy fighter. Quite a rarity from a 'Scout' group. But all the same, Sil's condition was no better off than Era's. Both women had taken a savage beating from their enemy and were both dangerously low on power. In fact the robots had to hook their bodies up to artificial Ki generation machines to ensure they maintained a steady stream of Ki throughout to keep them alive.

Korvaiis observed them carefully to take in the full measure of their condition before leaving their care to the robots. He moved on to inspect the others who were brought in as well before leaving them as well to the care of the bots.

He made his way outside and floated up into the sky.

One transmission. That's all it would have taken to reveal their location to Inecros. Thankfully he'd managed to prevent such a thing from happening. But it had been far too close for comfort. They needed new tech for future situations such as this. Transmission disruption was now at the top of the list of features to add to the base's automated threat responses. He'd see to it that Karas knew of this when he recovered.

For now though it was time for them to rest. This had been one of the most dangerous battles they'd engaged in yet. They earned their reprieve.

[/QUOTE]
Raze and Dicchio were lucky that they had the medbay. As brain damage is not fun and games, Raze and Dicchio were able to have their injuries treated immediately. Like Era and Sil, they were both put onto the artificial ki generator, although their ki stayed steady at where they were before. As they both were put into a medically induced coma, they both were two stay in bed for at least 5 days, even after they recover to make sure they had no extra problems. Unfortunately there were some consequences to having brain damage. The medbots diagnosed Raze with Ataxia, meaning Raze would be more clumsy and jittery, although the biggest effect is his handwriting. As a result him writing anything will be very difficult, if not impossible. Dicchio on the other hand, had his sense of smell impaired, and from now on, everything wouldn't have a certain distinguishable smell, as if everything was odorless. Dicchio and Raze were wrapped up and bandaged. They were stuck for a school week (5 days).

As Itta was about to rush his target, the foe's hand grew white again as another blast was charged. Not one to fall for his feat twice, Itta still rushes towards the enemy commander prepared to dodge out of the way and get into a comfortable range against the foe. However, Itta learned he didn't need to dodge at all as the enemy lifted his hand holding his attack straight into the air and fired the shot at nothing. Not one to fail to take the oppertunity, Itta continued his rush and was able to land his fist into the commanders gut. After the enemy lost his breath, Itta could hear him whisper in their close proximity to get out of his head. His confusion was met with an alien face now being shown on his scouter, informing him of the telepathic attack.

A sigh of relief and frustration escaped his mouth as Itta failed to continue his assault against the reeling commander. Both because he wouldn't have to fight his overpowered foe. This small break was ruined by a bright white light appeared again, this time landing on his bare body. The blast was weaker than the other two that destroyed the bots, the blast being both quickly prepared and the soldier fighting for control of his mind. Still, the attack landed square in his chest causing Itta's body to burn in agony.

Enraged by his foes attack, Itta wouldn't let his foes handicap deter him from fighting seriously. The two engaged in a trade of blows high in the sky, Itta's body burning with each move and the soldiers actions delayed by a presence in his mind. This soldier was not like the others Itta had fought with today, this one both trained and disciplined in combat. The sayian knew he would of lost if he had fought this commander at both their full strengths. But this was a battle, and there was no fairness in the field. He would have to thank the alien for saving his life.

Their duel raged on in the sky as the rest of the battle continued. The two were evenly match, blow for blow, block for block. Itta's star let him fight toe to toe with this oppressive power level he was now fighting, but he was starting to run out of power to keep this up. With the aliens control over the commander holding him back, it unfortunately meant that the enemy could go on for much longer than the star sayian. For as long as Itta couldn't finish the match, it just gave more chances for the soldier to finish it.

But then Xol's waves on insanity spread out. The commanders body fell defenseless as he gripped his head from the pain of the physic attack. Taking advantage of his foes vulnerability, Itta gathered the remaining energy he had left and placed it into his right fight's Star. The energy grew from red to orange as the last of his power gathered in his fist as he rammed his entire arm into his foes gut. Even with that, his foe's body stayed together, so he grew his arm back just slightly and gathered the Star in front of his fist. Firing a point blank shooting star into the opponents gut, Itta opened his hand and released the full blast of his energy into the oppoenent.

As the charred remains of his opponent fell to the ground, Itta took a look at what else needs to be done on the battlefield. Noticing the insanity of the few renaming enemy soldiers, a grimace took his face. He knew this was early in the sayians campaign, but having to resort to an aliens tricks to save all of their lives left a bad taste in their mouth. That being said, he was glad they all get to keep living for another day. As the pain from his many battles that day sent a shiver down his spine, Itta decided it was best to return back to the headquarters seeing as it was basically over.

Time seemed to tick by so slowly while those who'd been injured were made to rest. Sil and Era slept for over 30 hours before finally waking after their ordeal, and the others were a similar story. Korvaiis had been very concerned about his team during this critical time. Thankfully the false message sent back to the fleet would help them maintain their cover for the time being. The falsified message and source coordinates put the scout vessel on a faraway world ambushed by a hostile alien force, an enemy of the Saiyan Race, which would now be hunted directly by Inecros' fleet.

It was a near perfect feint. The Commander could only hope now that it would hold and that no further investigations would be made. He didn't know anything about Inecros other than his place as Overlord of the Galaxy. Would he be the type to investigate the loss of a meager scout vessel? Who could say?

Either way that was neither here nor there. Korvaiis set his sights on making sure that the base was cleaned up, repaired, and ready to go as soon as possible. The task was relatively simple thanks to the intuitive control mechanisms the base offered him, and he even did a bit of rearranging of the Training Grounds to the edges of the base so that they didn't cause trouble for anything closer to the center... Hopefully. Ki blasts would have be to banned from them unless some kind of shield could be placed around the Training Grounds. Otherwise other sections of the base could fall victim to stray blasts and that would be a hassle he didn't want or need.

With the Training Grounds moved around to more suitable locations, Korvaiis paid a visit to the Medical Bay to speak with Era.

"Commander," she said weakly.

"Era. I'll be brief, as I know you're still in recover and find it hard to speak. Have your senses failed you at all?" He asked.

She blinked.

"It is a fact that when our powers are dwindling our Ki attacks become substantially weaker as our bodies struggle to maintain enough energy to use them properly. I was wondering if the same is true of your senses. Have either your ability to sense energy or hide your power from a Scouter suffered from this?"

She closed her eyes and took a few slow breaths.

"I can still sense energy just fine, Commander. As for hiding my power level... I don't think that I have enough power to try that just yet." She whispered.

He nodded.

"That's fine, Era. I heard what I wanted to hear."

He stood up and walked over to her bedside putting a gentle hand on her shoulder.

"Just get some rest. You've all earned it." He said calmly with a smile.

Era's cheeks flushed pink for a brief moment before she smiled back at him and nodded. As the Commander left the room Era watched his departure. She closed her eyes and let herself relax entirely as she thought about his concern. Would a depravation of energy prevent her senses from working in the future? Right now she was hooked up to an artificial Ki supplement machine which was helping to maintain a consistent power level on her behalf to assist her recovery. But if this machine were not hooked up to her, would she be able to sense energy?

She kept her eyes closed and contemplated the matter. It was not unreasonable to think that if her body lacked the energy necessary to function properly that she would cease to be able to sense energy the way she had been. If she had remained conscious after her beating, would she have continued to sense energy? Despite her mastery of the technique, there were still many questions surrounding its capabilities and uses that remained unanswered. She'd have to test them someday, but it was not today. The Commander gave her an order to rest, and that was what she was going to do.

"Era..." Sil whispered.

"Sil? What is it?" She asked in return.

"I'm sorry I wasn't more use in our battle..." She said.

Era shook her head.

"Mm mm. You were fine Sil. Our enemy held every advantage over us. It didn't matter how we fought or how much effort we gave. He was simply too powerful for our skills to make a difference."

Sil coughed.

"Maybe. But you still took him down." Sil retorted.

Era opened her eyes.

"Mm? I did?" She whispered.

"Yes. After you were thrown into the crater and he started gloating, you floated out of the *Cough*... Out of the crater and your aura was bigger than I've ever seen it. Your power as well skyrocketed, and you killed him with one blow through his stomach as well as who knows how many of his minions with one final Ki blast... *Cough*..."

Era was dumbfounded.

"I-... I don't remember that." She said quietly.

"No?"

Era shook her head.

"Not at all. I remember being slammed down into the crater, and then everything went dark. The next thing I knew I woke up here." She said.

Sil was confused, but had an idea.

A video monitor was nearby, and it was capable of responding to basic voice commands in regards to display.

"Computer. Show recorded security footage." She said.

The monitor whirred to life and showed them a few options about what they could watch, and Sil asked it to show them the footage of the battle. She told it to fast forward until it displayed Era's outburst. Era watched in shock as she saw herself float out of the crater with her aura looking like a giant wildfire before smashing her fist through the enemy's stomach and blasting him and his minions away.

"Show power readings." She said.

The monitor did nothing.

"Your power was 35,000." Came a voice to the side.

"Sub-Commander Urod?" Era asked.

"I was about to come to your aid, but then my Scouter went haywire as your power surged. It reached 35,000 before coming to a stop and that's when you did that," he said, pointing to the monitor as it replayed her slamming her fist through her enemy's stomach.

Era was shocked.

"I had no idea I could do that." She whispered.

"The Commander has formulated a theory that the greater the emotional distress, the greater the power surge. It's just like when you were training with him and he humiliated you. But this time it was more than just humiliation. Much more. You don't make a face like that without hatred and a few other negative thoughts on your mind." He said, pointing to the monitor as it showed a close up of Era's murderous glare.

Era was silent.

"Era, please be careful. Your power faded to only 5 by the time you hit the ground. You were lucky to survive it." Sil warned.

"I see..." She whispered in response.

The Sub-Commander took the measure of their condition and left them to rest. Both women were asleep again within the next ten minutes, but only one of them was wondering just what in the world had happened when she was unconscious. For her to power up like that... And that glare.

It was frightening what her body was capable of doing without her mind in conscious control.

Three weeks went by without incident, leading to the conclusion that their ruse had worked. Overlord Inecros had not come near this sector of the Galaxy, but was fast headed for Metahnn and the other Saiyan Home Worlds. It wouldn't be long before they had become, in a sense, orphans.

Over the course of these last three weeks, Korvaiis, Urod, Kendra and Nei had all been training diligently during the recovery of the others.

Korvaiis' power had risen to 40,960 through 20 hours of solo training and 16 hours of training with Urod, Nei and Kendra.

Speaking of Urod, his power had increased to 34,560 through 18 hours of training with Kendra and Nei, as well as Korvaiis chipping in for some of it.

Nei and Kendra both remained relatively on par with one another, having reached power levels of 32,000 and 30,450 respectively.

Meanwhile... Era's power had taken a rather sizable spike rising all the way up 38,170 by the time she had recovered from her ordeal. However in true Era fashion she continued training and acclimating to her new power on her own every night in the same manner as she had before. Meditating on her abilities, learning to master then absolutely, and then working on pushing herself and her new power to its limit whenever the opportunity arose. She didn't have enough time by the end of the three weeks to do much with her physical training, and so her power remained at that point though she did master beyond reproach the other techniques she had developed.

Sil was a much more mellow story. Her power had risen to 40,950 by the time she had recovered and she felt no need to train herself further. She did meditate and practice sensing energy and and hiding her power level from the Scouter, eventually mastering both techniques, but she did not train herself physical the entire time instead choosing to rest her body. She'd had her fill of combat for a while.

It was all up to the Commander now to decide what they would all be doing next.

When Karas woke up the day after the battle, every single part of his body was in pure agony. Multiple bones were broken, his flesh-and-blood arm was at an unnatural angle, and he generally felt like he was on fire. The day passed on like this, with him using his robot arm to watch things, and keep in touch with Xol.

Meanwhile, Xol was heading to the medbay to check on Karas, and see if there was any brain damage he could try and fix in any of the Saiyans. He asked the service bot at the infirmary reception for their diagnosis files. The service bots actually came with the Bastion, meant to keep certain sections running until professionals could be found. Xol gripped the small tablet in his sucker-lined hands, reading off the data. The one named Dicchio seemed to suffer substantial damage to his olfactory bulb, indicating that he wouldn't be able to smell for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, Raze suffered a slight loss of motor control, coming down with ataxia. And it looked like there was nothing that the infirmary could do outside of cybernetic surgery.

To make matters worse, because Saiyans never communicated with other races--including the one who made the Bastion--Insta-Kit had no idea how to deal with Saiyan physiology. Saiyans were remarkably similar to another biped race, the humans, which is how the hospital was able to accommodate them so far. But when it came to cybernetics, Saiyans had a different level of voltage running through their nervous system, so cybernetics that came from outside their race would either break, catch fire, or even explode due to the unusual amount of electricity.

Xol took the small tablet with him to the medbay where Karas and the others were resting. As he entered the room, Karas said, "Hey, Xol. How's everything outside?"

Xol sat on a nearby chair and responded with surprise in his voice, "Good to see you're awake. The rebuilding was pretty much instant, but the base has a limited supply of nanobots. I may have to go on another trading r--"

"AAAGH!!" Karas yelled as he clutched the cast by his ribcage.

"Are you alright, Karas? Should I go ask for some painkiller?"

"No, Xol! The painkiller doesn't work. It's clearly meant for humans, the only reason the others aren't in similar pain right now is because they're out cold. Speaking of which, is that a medical tablet you have there?"

"Why yes," Xol said as he reached for his pocket, "But I thought you already got one?"

Karas took out his own tablet from the side of his bed, saying, "I did, but it only covers my injuries. The others' aren't visible. Can you tell me how they're doing?"

"That's what I was here for, actually. You see, Raze and Dicchio have brain damage. Dicchio can't smell and Raze has ataxia--constant trembling, especially bad in the hands. It's going to be a problem for them all their lives, but hopefully with my powers I can fix it."

"But...you're not a doctor! You'll cause more harm than good!"

Xol got up and looked Karas right in the eye. "And the only doctor here is both comatose and has ataxia. How is he supposed to administer treatment if he can't even write his own name? Someone has to heal those two, and it sure as slime won't be these robots of ours! Now if you excuse me, I'm going to get to work."

@Anime King Kaleb

As Xol walked to Dicchio's bed behind the curtain to Karas' right, Karas brought his head down, balling his prosthetic hand into a fist, and thought to himself, That's it, when Raze and I get out of these beds the first thing we're doing is making proper Saiyan medical bots!

Xol put his hand on Dicchio's head and began to power up to his maximum. With a sharper mind, he would have finer psychic control. And with Dicchio completely unconscious, Xol would easily be able to get through. The mental defenses were nonexistent, allowing Xol to quickly navigate to the olfactory bulb. He slowly, over the course of two hours, began piecing the damaged nerves back together. It was monotonous, brutal work, but at the end, he managed to fix the last one. He took mental control of Dicchio's olfactory bulb and attempted to smell through his nose. Indeed, Dicchio could in fact smell the air freshener permeating the room. Xol gently left Dicchio's mind and walked over to Raze, repeating the process but with a different part of the brain.

When he was done, four hours later, Xol took similar mental control over Raze's body and attempted to lift Raze's left arm. As was hoped, the motion was smooth. No trembling at all. Xol relinquished his control and came back to Karas, saying, "All done, old friend. Their minds are as good as new. I can't undo the coma after expending that much ki, but if what you've told me about the painkillers is true, it might be for the best."

"Xol...you've really outdone yourself this time."

"Well, I do my best. I should probably get some rest myself, actually. See you, Karas."

THREE WEEKS LATER...

Karas was finally recovered fully, and decided to tour the base again. The factories were building more and more robots, the army was filling up nicely, and the hangar was...wow. The hangar was nearly full. There were all kinds of ships here. Even a few other Mobile Bases, a frigate or two...

So they've finally arrived, Karas thought to himself as he went to check out his own ship. In front of the door, he saw the words, "FOR KARAS," written on a huge cardboard box. As Karas tore it open, he could see that it was an engine package! And it was one of the best available in his ship's class!

"Hey," Karas heard a voice say behind him, "Took you long enough to get that slug-man's package. I've seen it every time I've come by the hangar, and you never picked it up until now."

Karas knew that voice like the back of his hand. He never forgot it. It was the same voice that belonged to the bastard who got his arm amputated. The Planet Raider, Rakton Spec!

Karas turned and spoke, "Listen, Rakton. I've been in the infirmary this whole time. I've spent three weeks recovering from a scouting party Inecros sent. Don't hold me accountable for just doing my part to protect--"

"PROTECT WHAT!?" Rakton exploded. "Raid Group 02A!? Unlike you, I rushed to defend Metahnn, only to see our home blow up before I could even do anything! And you? You were over here--"

"FIGHTING TO KEEP YOU ALIVE, YOU IGNORANT MORON!!" Karas shouted right back. "Do you even realize how dangerous Inecros is? The king of Metahnn couldn't stop him at his full potential! We needed to gather the survivors of Inecro's assault and use the techniques Era discovered to build ourselves up before we could truly challenge him. You know as well as I do that it was a fool's errand to protect Metahnn. Even if we had every Saiyan in the universe, it would have made no difference in the end. Meanwhile, my commander guaranteed that the Saiyan race will live on. You were willing to throw your life away just for a chance to get at Inecros! What would that have done? Absolutely nothing! And for me, as someone who can do more than just fight, it was even more important that I follow Korvaiis here. Without me, we would just have had a bunch of ships parked on the plains still. Now, we have a defensible city, a workforce, food on the table, and a robot army, thanks to me and that 'slug-man,' who by the way is one of my best friends. I hope you're enjoying whatever fancy house we got you, as well as the food that my labor bots grew, harvested, and cooked for you. Now if you excuse me, I have some engines to install, Raid Group Leader."

With that, Karas turned around, put the engine in his cargo bay, taxied the ship to a garage, and got to work. Rakton, meanwhile, was too chastened to respond. He simply walked away.

Later on that day, Rakton was nursing his bruised ego, swearing to himself in his new luxurious home, breaking things and generally being Rakton. "I'll show that mouthy upstart!" Rakton said to himself angrily, as he violently kicked a table in half, only for it to reconstruct itself in an instant. He kept smashing it over and over again, but it kept reforming each time. "I am the leader of one of the most powerful Raid Groups in the Saiyan Empire!" He stomped the table in half this time. "What if the others found out about my behavior? I can't let them know about how I just walked away!" He chucked a would-be-priceless-if-it-wasn't-made-of-nanobots vase through the glass window, causing shards to scatter on the pavement before the window spontaneously repaired itself, along with the vase reappearing on the shelf he took it from. He shook with rage, his hands balling into fists. "Karas, next time you badmouth me, I AM GOING TO BEAT YOU TO A PULP!"

The Commander sat in his home observing the time tick by slowly. He was finished training for the day and eager to get to work. But first, there was a rather pressing matter at hand which he needed to discuss with Xol. And indeed it would be a good thing if all of their non-Saiyan allies were informed of his intentions.

Korvaiis fired up his Scouter.

"Xol. Please meet me above the Control Tower. We have something to discuss."

That was it.

Korvaiis made his way to the Control Tower and floated in the air waiting for Xol to arrive.

Korvaiis made his way to the Control Tower and floated in the air waiting for Xol to arrive.
Xol was sitting in his ship with a cup of a bean-based drink from a human market station, enjoying its bitter taste. The human who sold it to him had advised that he mix in the white powder and the white liquid, but he was enjoying it just the same without the two ingredients. Then, he got a message on his ship's computer. It had a message from Commander Korvaiis. It must have been important in that case. He finished his drink, and then, with some trepidation, sealed himself into his armor so he could fly with the commander. It was annoying living among Saiyans but not being able to use any normal ki abilities without special armor.

He walked out of his ship's main blast door, followed by rocketing into the air and arriving in front of Korvaiis, still clad in his armor. He set the visor's opacity to zero, so that Korvaiis could see his face. "Hello, Korvaiis. If you're wondering why I'm in my armor, I need it to fly. Figured you would be floating, it's the ideal way to have privacy for ki users. So, what did you want to discuss?"

The Commander greeted Xol with a nod of his head.

"I'll cut right to the point, Xol. The destruction of our home world has many of our allies and enemies alike in a panic wondering what the survivors intend to do. I have almost no doubts that you yourself wonder about us and our intentions."

He took a moment to send Xol a message containing a brief overview of the death count of the last 6 months worth of Raids throughout the galaxy, totaling over 1.6 billion deaths across nearly 87 worlds.

"That is our legacy as of right now, and it's not one I'm honestly proud of looking back on it. I thought that it would be prudent to set your mind at ease, being as you are our first ally to answer our calls."

He took a moment to clear his throat.

"From this moment on, the Saiyan Race which survives here on this world will dedicate itself to the eradication of Overlord Inecros. Using the skills Era has taught us, we will annihilate that galactic tyrant once and for all. But what of us when our mission is through? That is likely where your concerns lie, is it not? What happens after that?"

He looked around at the base.

"When Inecros is dead, the Saiyan Race will be free. Fighting is in our blood. We can't help it that we're driven to fight. But that doesn't mean we can't find more productive and less savage methods of utilizing our skills and satisfying our needs. But in order to convince the rest of my kin that our future lies without the need for Raids I need you and whatever other allies will lend me their aid to assist me with coming up with methods for satisfying our lust for battle. I've already thought of inter galactic tournaments, but that is more of a hassle than I am prepared to deal with nor is it my area to set such an occasion. But as long the Saiyan Race has a way to satisfy our need for combat, we can exist without Raids and without planetary purging."

He took a moment to bring up Era's picture on his Scouter for Xol to see.

"This is Era. She is of my current group, and is the one who discovered how to sense energy, hide our power from Scouters and other power reading devices, and also discovered a means of using her very life force to repel foreign Ki. She's a brilliant young mind with creative potential, but traditional Saiyan upbringing prevents her from being the kind of mind that sees beyond the combative possibilities."

He got rid of the picture on his Scouter.

"Era has shown me that Ki has uses beyond the combative, while Karas has proven that the Saiyan Race is capable of much more inventive and intellectual pursuits. Many of my kin are grounded in our old ways and will be hard pressed to convince to leave Raids behind, but nevertheless I will beseech you to help me come up with ideas to replace them. Constructive, innovative, and inspiring ideas to replace Raids and purges. Though we revel in combat, we do not inherently desire genocide. It's all part of the current job and we do our job well. But if the Saiyan Race has a new job, a new focus, which still satisfies our need to fight, we can become more than our old Race and start anew."

He extended his hand to Xol.

"So I ask you, Xol, will you stand for this future and help me change the vision of the future of the Saiyan Race?" He asked.

(I don't see how any one can drink black coffee)

After Xol fixed Dicchio's and Raze's problems, they were still in their coma. After a day, Dicchio awoke to excruciating pain, although he felt better than he was on the battle field. He picked up his medical tablet. He wasn't surprised to see that he had three separate breaks in his rib cage. He then felt more pain in his chest as he started to flip the page over. He inhaled slowly but deeply through his nose but then froze.

"How in the world can I smell" Dicchio knew from watching Raze study that his brain damage caused damage to his olfactory bulb. He started experiencing the effects on the battle field, being unable to smell the stench of Overlords Inecros' s brutes. He turned the page to see that he was right about his injury, but he was surprised to see that the problem was fixed by Xol. He started to get out of bed but a Medbot rushed into the room stopping him.

"You cannot leave until we make sure your problem is fully fixed. Please sit back down." It was more of a command then a plead. Dicchio laid back down. I've the course of the next few hours, Dicchio had many tests done until he was finally allowed to go. The Medbot told him to wait until the 5th day before taking his cast off. Dicchio went back to his house. With nothing to do, he started mastering the techniques he learned.

After fifth day since his injuries, Raze started training. As Raze was doing other things he had to train solo. He trained for 6 hours, in intervals, every day for 16 days. The other periods of time, he ate, slept, and did other things Saiyan's do in there daily lifestyle. By the end of the three weeks he mastered both of Era's techniques.

Raze awoke on the third day, quite similarly to Dicchio, in excruciating pain. He assessed his injuries. As he knew all of his injuries because of studying and basically being a medical prodigy, he knew everything wrong with him.

He used his not broken arm to lift up his shirt where he could see where he was treated for the gash. After putting his shirt down, he froze in amazement as his motion wasn't jittery and clumsy. He picked up a pen and tried writing his name. He concluded that his Ataxia was cured somehow, as his writing was just as smooth as always. A Medbot rushed into the room, picked up the paper and scanned it. After doing so it said that Raze could go after they gave him care instructions for his gash. Being a doctor, Raze told the Bots that he already knew what to do. As he left the Medbay, he noticed all of the ships that were unrecognizable. He knew that the Medbay would need information on everyone, just in case they needed certain medication, and so they could have enough rooms, and all that stuff. So Raze sent Korvaiis a message asking for permission to conduct a census so the Medbay could adapt accordingly. It would be catastrophic if everyone was injured at once but there wasn't enough rooms to accommodate them all.

@Kyero

Raze then decided to message Xol about if it was possible to add another factory onto the Bastion, a factory specifically for creating medicine. Raze knew what was needed to make medicine and how to make it but for this many people they needed it mass produced, specifically but especially painkillers that are effective on Saiyans.

@Genon
@Anime King Kaleb

That day, Karas sent Raze a message on his Scouter. It read, "I think it's necessary to update the Bastion's medical firmware so that its medical bots can effectively treat Saiyans. I don't want anyone to have to deal with what we went through in those beds. Come to my house later and we can get to work."

@Kyero

Xol absorbed the commander's words. He knew not every Saiyan was a cookie-cutter stereotype, but he never expected that a man whose job it was lead others in committing genocide to actually want something different for his people. Of course, he would imagine it would get to him, but...

Xol sat at the monitor, Karas' face visible on the call. He heard the warrior sigh. "These days, Xol, I don't know if I can even stay in the PDC. It's counterintuitive and rather dumb politically, but the Saiyan Empire prefers offense to defense. The highest-paid and most-respected Saiyans are Planet Raiders. Funny, since the PDC usually ends up fighting against the survivors of Planet Raids. This whole system is just disgusting. I'd be fine if non-combat jobs paid a living wage, but they don't at all. I have to be in the military to support myself."

Korvaiis looked like a rare breed, a soldier who initially entered for honor and glory and all that fun stuff and then realized how awful war really is. Much like Xol. It would explain how Korvaiis was different from the more rowdy Saiyans that were around the city.

Xol shook Korvaiis hand. "I will. Not only do I want to see a more peaceful Saiyan race, but if your vision succeeds, everyone will be better off. And I already know of some ways we can put that battle-lust to good use."

"I'm sure Karas told you about bounty hunting. The Saiyans have a fearsome reputation, many governments would be happy to send your soldiers after their fugitives. Taking this a step further, it's possible that Saiyans could be employed as mercenaries by warring governments, bodyguards for VIPs traveling through hostile areas, or even get jobs at major security companies: I know of several megacorporations on Zy that would love to hire Saiyan fighters. And of course, there's the tournament idea you suggested, which could still be useful provided we have the means to set one up. Those are just the ones i can think of off the top of my head, but if I come up with any more, I'll let you know."

@Anime King Kaleb

Then he got a message from Raze. "Excuse me for a moment." He wrote back through the suit's brain-machine interface, You can produce medical equipment using a Bastion factory, but for the medicine itself you'll need ingredients to synthesize it en masse. Also, keep in mind that unless there's unallocated space on Bastion grounds, you'll have to deconstruct several buildings to accommodate a new factory. I may be able to get you the reagents you'll need, depending on availability and what you specifically request.

When the message was sent, he turned back to Korvaiis. "Anyway, is there anything else that you wanted to discuss?"

"To grow up alone is a fate unbecoming of a Saiyan, but it has made me stronger than I dared hope. I can only continue to hope, and with luck I'll always have Era by my side to push me to even greater heights."

Korvaiis was pleased to hear Xol's acceptance of his request, and nodded at his statement for solutions being sent to him when they were discovered.

He then went back to the Control Tower and began sifting through the various commands he could use as he hadn't memorized them yet.

Meanwhile, over at one of the Training Yards, Era was hard at work perfecting her techniques and testing them against one of the Training Bots Karas had whipped up. But her practice was interrupted by Nei and Kendra who landed nearby and called to her to stop what she was doing so they could have a talk.

"What can I do for you today?" Era asked.

"Don't get cute, Era." Nei barked.

Era blinked.

"What?"

"Don't 'what?' us, Era. Your maximum power level has now risen to just above 40,000 which is higher than ours is. But don't think for one second we'll relinquish our positions to you or start taking orders from you."

"When did I give the impression I was going to try and make you take orders from me?"

"You're a Saiyan, Era. No matter what you tell us we know that deep down you want power and status just like the rest of us. You want to command respect. You want to know what it feels like to give an order rather than follow it. But you'll not be giving us any orders anytime soon."

Era frowned.

"That's not up to you now, is it Nei?"

"Excuse me?!" He said angrily.

"If the Commander demands you follow my orders at any time, you are obligated to obey him and thus me if it goes there. I doubt he'll give you such an order anyway, but if he does you don't have a choice in the matter. So how about you two stop pretending like you can intimidate me into remaining a subordinate? I know my place in this Raid Group, and I'm satisfied with it. If you don't want to respect me, that's fine. But you will respect the Commander and obey his orders. As a member of this Raid Group, if you refuse to obey his orders, I will see to it that you are properly disciplined." She said calmly.

"You'll what?" Kendra asked, walking forward and grabbing Era's lapel.

"I didn't quite hear that Era." She growled.

"You heard me loud and clear Kendra. If you refuse to obey and respect the Commander's orders, whatever they may be, I will see to it that you are properly disciplined."

"Why you little daughter of a Socraht (whore)! Remember to whom you're speaking! Your new maximum may be over 40,000, but at present you don't have access to all of it and I can still defeat you at this stage! If you cross me Era, so help me I'll-"

"That's enough!" Came the voice of Sub-Commander Urod.

Kendra let go and she and Nei gave a salute and a bow, as did Era.

"I've heard quite enough of that conversation through Era's Scouter, and I must say I'm incredibly disappointed in you both for taking such an aggressive stance to one of our own. Era has always proven her worth in her position, and her position is not going to change no matter how powerful she becomes. You heard it from her own mouth, she accepts her position, so you should as well. If you two wish to bully our own, I will personally oversee your punishment. Is that clear?!" He bellowed.

Kendra and Nei flinched, but affirmed his order and flew away.

The Sub-Commander sighed.

"It seems that the acquisition of power and the shifting of the Raid Group's dynamic is negatively affecting those two. Try not to pay them any mind Era. The Commander and I will see to it that you and Sil do not have to worry about them trying to bully you anymore."

She bowed her head.

"With all due respect, Sub-Commander, they are in no position to bully me. I may not have access to my full power yet, but I don't need it."

He arched an eyebrow.

"A bold statement. Have you by chance discovered something again?"

She shook her head.

"No sir. Just old fashioned confidence in what I can do. I have acclimated to over 34,000 of my roughly 40,000 power level, and that's about the same as those two possess. With my mastery of the techniques I've been teaching everyone, I know I can defeat them if they try anything."

He scoffed.

"Confidence is a fine trait, Era. But do not let it rule your head. An equal power and mastery of a few techniques does not a victory guarantee. The Commander and myself experienced that when we were younger first hand. You would do well to avoid Nei and Kendra for the time being. Again we will keep them off your back, but all the same give them their distance. That is all." He said.

With that he flew alway and Era decided to contact Sil, who had also been acclimating to her power, and asked her to come out and practice with her. However, Sil declined. She wanted to rest, which was an interesting choice. Sil was usually one to enjoy casual training such as this, so why decline?

Oh well... Rest well my friend, she thought as she returned to training.

@Genon (Sorry! I thought I already posted it but my Rpnation was messing up apparently)

Raze recieves a message from Karas. He read it then replied,"I know that's the truth. I just sent a message to Xol asking about adding a factory for medicine and medical bots, specialized for Saiyans. I was just going to message you about helping create and code the bots. Although, if the Saiyans weren't such bloodthirsty brutes, we wouldn't need this stuff as much as we do..." Raze then received a message from Xol, regarding the factory. Smiling, Raze sent a second message," Okay, I have a response but I'll tell you when I get to your house. See you in a few minutes." He sent the second message. After he gathered his medical textbooks and all that stuff that he acquired over the years, he went to Karas's house and knocked on the door, the best he could since he had tons of stuff in his hands.

Evening came and twilight painted the skies in orange, yellow, pink and purple overhead. Sil was beyond the borders of the Base seated quietly on a small mountaintop not more than a few ticks away.

Era's power, and mine... They have both risen so dramatically. Less than three months ago my power was only 420. Now it's nearly 100 times greater than before. She thought.

She laid back and looked straight up at the sky taking slow and steady breaths.

I can't say that having this much power is truly a bad thing... Yet. But look at what it's doing to everyone. Nei and Kendra scowl every time they look at either Era or myself. They're even becoming leery of Itta, Karas, Dicchio and Raze even though their powers are still much lower. I'm almost wondering if those two are planning to turn on us if we become too much stronger. She thought.

She took in a deep breath and released it on a sigh.

I suppose it can't be helped. They've been used to such great power for so long that now our own powers threaten their very existence. At least that's how I believe they see it. They were used to the dynamic. They were strong, we were not. They accepted us as weaklings. But now that our powers have surpassed their own they're beginning to treat us as outcasts within our own group... This can't be a good sign of things to come. She thought as she closed her eyes.

After a few moments she thought she felt something in the air. A tiny ounce of energy in her vicinity which felt familiar. But it disappeared even faster than it appeared, so she paid it no mind. But then, rather suddenly, she found herself being straddled by none other than Era who looked down at her with a smile. Sil couldn't help but blush slightly with Era seated atop her like this. It was more than a little... suggestive.

"Era," She managed to say quietly.

"Sil." Era replied.

"Why are you sitting on me like that?"

"It's more comfortable than the ground." She said.

Sil chuckled.

"I couldn't sense your approach. You've learned to hide your power not just from a Scouter, but from our senses as well haven't you?"

"Actually it's one in the same. Your senses are no different than a high level Scouter. If the Scouter can be fooled, so too are your senses. The same technique works to fool devices and enemies alike."

Sil closed her eyes again.

"That does make sense I suppose. Still, it's impressive."

"You and the others can all do the same Sil. You've all nearly mastered the use of these techniques, so it's only a matter of time before you hone them sharply enough to do as I've done. Just have patience."

"It's not a matter of patience, Era. It's a matter of pride. In the course of around there months you've discovered several new techniques and even unlocked our race's latent potential that we might ascend in power to heights previously unimaginable... What is that to make of the rest of us?" She asked as she opened her eyes.

"I'm not sure I understand the question Sil."

"Era... You're showing signs of being a prodigious talent by discovering these new techniques and aspects of our very race's power. Not only that, but you were the first and fastest to master the techniques you've discovered compared to the rest of us. Even without training and proper direction, you figured it all out faster than any of us did. How do you think that makes everyone feel?"

Sil began to sit up and Era floated off of her and to a seated position across from her.

"Don't get me wrong Era. You're my best friend and I will always love and respect you for it. But the others... Don't you realize that thoughts of inferiority are slowly creeping in for many of us? Sure we're all growing and slowly becoming as productive as you are in the use of these techniques, but again we're all doing so only after you showed us the way. Had you chosen you, you could have retained our race's latent potential all for yourself and grown on your own to heights previously unimaginable. You could have grown powerful enough to overthrow any of the Saiyan Rulers and become a Ruler yourself. The possibility that you could have done so but chose willingly to share it with us... That is what is getting to Nei and Kendra especially."

Sil reached out and took Era's hand.

"Era. Nei and Kendra are traditionalists. You know that. They want things to stay the way they were. They don't want the dynamic of the group to chance, but our new powers have already confirmed that it has changed and they are very threatened by that."

Era was shocked to hear this from Sil, but she remained silent and still until her friend had finished.

"Era, you must be careful. If you continue to grow in power as you have been then what do you think Nei and Kendra will do? They've been your superiors for so long that your new power threatens their previous beliefs and way of life. I don't think I need to remind you that Saiyans do rash and terrible things when their positions are threatened. You need to watch your back around those two."

Era finally smiled.

"Thanks for your concern Sil. But I'll be fine. Nei and Kendra are not anything for me to be concerned about at this time. The Commander and Sub-Commander will be keeping a close eye on them and if they try anything the two of them will step in on my behalf. Nei and Kendra may be threatened by me, but they'd never willingly invoke the Commander's wrath. I'll be just fine."

Sil wasn't convinced.

"Even so-"

"I'll be careful Sil. I know to watch my back. As I said, if I can hide my power from you and a Scouter, so can the others. Nei and Kendra included. If they try anything with subdued powers, I have a way of picking up on it."

Sil's eyes widened a bit.

"How? Another new technique?" She asked.

Era shook her head.

"Just common sense, Sil. Nei and Kendra both enjoy keeping their powers at maximum as demonstrations of their prowess. Their pride won't let them feel "subdued" the way you and I usually are by keeping our powers around 1/5 of what our full potential is. If the two of them power down to the point where I can't sense them anymore, I'll know to be on guard."

It was so simple yet quite ingenious. Era's knowledge of her Raid Group's personalities and habits gave her insight enough to know how to deal with Nei and Kendra even if they took advantage of Era's teachings... Go figure she'd find a way.

Sil couldn't help but smile.

"All right Era... Just be careful. I doubt they'll try anything with the Commander and Sub-Commander watching them. But if they do I want you to avoid fighting them. If you raise a hand to your superiors, it's grounds for imprisonment which is likely what they want. You are stronger than they are now, and they want you on a leash they can control."

Era nodded.

"I'm well aware of that Sil. What's say you and I do some training tomorrow? I missed you in training today after all. Those training grounds get quite lonely by myself."

Sil chuckled.

"Fair enough."

Together the two flew back to base and prepared to go to bed. The sun had set and tomorrow was a brand new day.

Supposedly the Commander would have a new announcement for them.

When Raze arrived, Karas opened the door for him, letting him in. The two quickly got to work on updating the robots, Karas demonstrating his arm's thought-controlled coding ability. By the end of the night, Karas and Raze had successfully gotten the majority of the software work done--testing notwithstanding--due to Karas' arm and Raze's medical knowledge. Their prototype robot was a modified labor drone designed with better motor coordination and more precise sensors. It was equipped with several slots around the waist, designed to allow the robot to carry medical equipment hands-free. The medical bot was quite durable, outfitted with a very small ki container (around 2000 power) to allow it to take small ki blasts without damage, as well as survive most ki-related explosions and simply walk right through falling debris. The reasoning behind this unorthodox choice was because the Saiyan forces would need field medics to apply first aid and carry them to the infirmary. The combat robots had proven they were capable of retrieving the wounded, but without a dedicated unit of rescue robots, using them in such a way would take away from the army's combat effectiveness. To this end, it was capable of creating a bubble of ki about 10 feet in diameter around itself, enough to protect itself and two other patients from enemy attack. Its primary means of attack, once completed, would be to "shed" layers of its barrier to hit opponents, the barrier quickly reforming. It was also capable of releasing a flash of light to blind enemies. At such a low power level, it couldn't kill anyone but complete weaklings, but it didn't have to kill anyone. It just had to get away in one piece and keep its charge alive.

@Kyero

Eventually, the next morning arrived, with Raze long-gone and Karas waking up feeling groggy from working late the night before. After doing his morning routine, he spent a few hours acclimating himself to his new power. He was somewhere around 3,500 by noon, and then he began to go back to coding.

There is a stigma that men are more powerful than women, but I beg to differ. I’ll show you the power of a Saiyan who is also a woman!

"To grow up alone is a fate unbecoming of a Saiyan, but it has made me stronger than I dared hope. I can only continue to hope, and with luck I'll always have Era by my side to push me to even greater heights."

The next morning, Korvaiis awoke at the break of dawn as usual. He floated out to the edge of the base and landed with his feet on the dirt just beyond the base's border. Once set he sent a message out to everyone to meet him at his present coordinates for an important announcement.

Time ticked by, and slowly everyone began to arrive one by one. Once everyone was present, he began.

"Everyone, the time has come. Inecros has destroyed Metahnn, and is proceeding to do the same to the other remaining 16 home worlds. What survives of the Saiyan Race is coming here, and should arrive in due time. But we are going to take the initiative and destroy his supply line all the way back to his own self proclaimed "home world.""

Era and Sil looked to each other in surprise before looking back to the Commander.

"Some of you may be wondering why we would undertake such a venture. It sounds like a suicide mission, does it not? Well I disagree. With our new abilities to sense and suppress our energies and our power levels on the rise, I believe that we will stand an excellent chance of defeating Inecros by the time he catches on to what we are doing and comes to stop us."

"Commander," Nei asked with a raised hand.

"Yes, Nei?"

"With all due respect, how do you intend for us to reach power levels capable of defeating him sir? Based on rumors I've heard, his power level is well into the millions and ours are just barely approaching 40,000. Do you really think we'll be able to ascend to heights like that by the time he figures out that his supply line is in jeopardy and comes to put an end to our interference?"

Korvaiis nodded.

"You raise a good point Nei. Our power levels are growing and have already surpassed every expectation that Saiyan Society had for us. But yes, Inecros' power is likely to be in the millions which means we will have to do two things: One is to gather our courage and battle all of the forces at his disposal to further our power growth, and take full advantage of all free time which we can allocate to training. I estimate that within the course of roughly six to eight months, at least one of us may have a power level approaching the one million mark. By then we'll be well into our efforts and even if Inecros has discovered our interference and begins to hunt us down, I believe by the time he reaches us more will have ascended to such heights and possibly beyond."

"You are taking a huge gamble, sir." Kendra remarked.

"Yes, I am. But it is a gamble I am prepared and willing to take. Inecros must be stopped and it starts by eliminating his supply line. The fewer resources he has at his disposal, the better off we'll be to deal with him by the time he does catch up to us."

"With all due respect, sir, I believe this is foolish." She said slightly more quietly than her last statement.

"You are afraid, Kendra. That's good."

"Afraid, sir?" She asked with a hint of indignance.

"Yes. You're afraid as you should be. If you were not afraid of facing Inecros' forces, to say nothing of Inecros himself, I'd call you a fool and demand you remain here."

Kendra sighed and lowered her head slightly.

"Fear is a powerful motivator, everyone, when used correctly. Fear of what is capable of destroying you is the kind of fear that is productive. It keeps you alert, on your toes, and cautious. I myself am afraid of Inecros and much of his main force, but I will not allow that to slow me down. I know what must be done to protect not only our new home, but the rest of the galaxy from his wrath from this point forward. It is a gamble, and it will be unfathomably dangerous, but that is why I am asking for volunteers instead of drafting you into helping me."

Kendra seemed to perk up at this mention, as did Nei who shared many of her sentiments.

"Those of you who believe that you are ready for the path I have chosen to take, I ask that you step forward. Those of you who do not wish to follow this path, please take a step backwards."

Korvaiis waited patiently for everyone to make their choice.

Era did not hesitate for an instant and was the first to step forward. Kendra and Nei shot nasty looks at her back as she walked but she didn't see them nor bother to acknowledge the two of them as she took her place beside the Commander. He nodded to her, and looked to the others. Sil hesitated for a brief second, but took a breath and walked forward to stand beside her old friend who smiled at her. Korvaiis nodded to Sil, and returned his gaze to the others. Sub-Commander Urod was next, standing beside his old friend who gave him a nod before returning his gaze forward.

Nei and Kendra exchanged glances and neither seemed ready or willing to move forward for a time. But eventually the two of them took their steps forward as well to stand beside the Commander and the others.

Korvaiis continued to wait, watching silently as everyone he'd invited (which consisted of nearly 200 of the Saiyans who'd managed to find their way here) contemplated their position.

@Denezen @Genon @Anime King Kaleb

@Kyero

Karas listened in silence to the briefing. It would be dangerous, frightfully so. It would be risky. And it would put the Saiyans at their weakest: in space. Saiyan ships sacrificed utility and combat potential for speed, befitting their owners' status as terrestrial raiders. Karas' ship had some basic weapons systems along with shields and a much more powerful engine, and with the potential for electronic warfare provided he wrote a virus in advance, but he knew he was anything but common among Saiyans. That meant that his ship would likely be the only one equipped for a combat situation should things get nasty in-transit. And he couldn't just upgrade everybody's ships like that, not while acclimating himself to his power level for the mission. Besides, that took time and resources, which he didn't have. Then again...yes, that was perfect! The Bastion could modify the existing ships for him! But all of those inner thoughts were fundamentally tied to one thing: Part of any mission was technology. Technology that would have to be mantained and repaired. If a soldier's engines failed, or their Scouter broke, someone would have to fix it. And Karas was that someone, without question.

He saw a bit of himself, and of every Saiyan, within Inecros and his forces. Undoubtedly, the Saiyans must look very much like Inecros to the more civilized races. He wasn't about to justify his species' actions. The Saiyans were often brutal, heartless, and filled with hubris. But at the heart of the matter, he simply wasn't willing to sit back and watch as people died. He knew his life would make no difference in the defense of Metahnn, and coupled with a general desire to hit the reset button on Saiyan society, he fully supported his commander's actions in abandoning his home. But now that he could actually have an impact, he was willing to defend his people with his life. He knew that Saiyans could be so much more than raiders, and he was going to make sure they ascended to a more civilized level. He stepped forward without hesitation, ready and willing to fight for his people's right to live and redeem themselves for their crimes

But as Karas looked around to see if others would step forward, he saw a man he never thought he would see on the same mission as him directly to his right. It was Rakton again! Was it too much to ask that this disgusting, violent bastard have died on Metahnn?! Rakton initially scowled at hearing Korvaiis repeat that goddamned news once more, but Karas observed that as Korvaiis had detailed his plan, Rakton bore a toothy, almost predatory grin that signaled imminent violence. For once, Karas actually sympathized with Rakton's viewpoint. He didn't enjoy the act of killing like Rakton did, but he wanted Inecros to get what was coming to him, and for the most part he would feel no regrets ruining Inecros' supply line. It would be hard to work with the man who got his arm chopped off, but he would try his best to put their differences aside and fight alongside him. He knew it was for the best. However, he knew Rakton well enough to know that the low-tier Super Elite would likely look down on Karas as a weakling or an insect. But maybe Rakton had matured somewhat since he last knew him. After all, Rakton didn't attempt to beat the stuffing out of Karas for badmouthing him the day before. Time would tell if that was the case.

Eve was standing to the very back of the mass of Saiyan Warrior's which could only be described as a gathering of dejected souls. Most had evacuated from home world's in the wake of Inecros's power and army. Though as Saiyan Pride was concerned, most still held their head's high, ready for action even in the wake of such devastation. Leaders defeated, world's destroyed or soon to be. Though there was a fever pitch; it was something she observed in Soldier's close to there limit, it was like a Fight or Flight mechanism that forced those close to defeat much further then they where seemingly capable of.

Eve had come from one the last wave of Saiyan warrior's to escape Metahnn before it's destruction. Her fist clenched softly at that gloomy thought, but she otherwise kept composed and head held high. As the Commander, she believed his name was Korvaiis, spoke of binding together and working to attack the supply route directly, her heart suddenly thundered in her chest. It was a fantastic idea, considering eventually Inecros and his forces would find them, it would make sense to bring the battle first to them. She started to place a hand on the shoulder's of those Saiyan's before her, still weighing up their mind's if they would help in the battle or not, pushing them gently to the side and making her way through the ranks. As her blue eyes scanned the people, she noticed the closer she got to the front of the gathering, the more their shoulder's squared, their resolve hardening. It didn't even faze her mind what her decision was and as she past the last of the undecided souls, she came before a gathering to the front. Obviously they were all acquainted with one another, but that didn't seem to worry her at all. She immediately stepped up beside a Saiyan with a robotic arm, though she didn't acknowledge him other then his presence was simply there, beside her. She did, however, notice the low-tier super elite Rakton and simply offered him a curt nod, if he even bothered to look in her direction. She didn't know him, after all, but she had seen him around the officials at Metahnn. She had dabbled and weaved her way through most of the lower and upper Elite through her parents. Her blue eyes focused the Commander who had first issued the call to help, and what she assumed was his Sub-Commander beside him. Stepping rather unashamed she walked right before the men-in-charge and took a deep bow, hand crossed over her chest as she lent over. She felt her hair brush over one shoulder to half cover her face but took no heed of it.

"Sir Korvaiis I presume? My name is Eve Zefara...I have come from one of the last escaping fleets from Metahnn, and I will join your campaign to the best of my abilities...Even if not a single other Saiyan joins your cause, I will endeavor to serve as best as I can..."

Lifting herself with an arm still crossed over her chest, feet clicking together with her shoulders still square. She held herself with such sureness of herself, that it was immediately visible she would fight to the death, if need be, to see that Inecros and his forces were obliterated from the universe. She didn't care if any eyes were watching her, if she had intruded on the girls, or the robotic armed man, she only cared that she could serve as best she could. She only hoped her power was enough to aid in the battle ahead. Though she knew she had to train extensively hard from here on in as her efforts proved fruitless in defending the main Home World. Something she was not planning on repeating for a second time on this mission.

There is a stigma that men are more powerful than women, but I beg to differ. I’ll show you the power of a Saiyan who is also a woman!

Korvaiis scanned the crowds and was dismayed that so few were stepping forward. Really the only ones who were coming up were his own Raid Group, which was no longer a Raid Group since their home was now destroyed. The legality of their "Group" was now defunct, so it was much more like a simple group of comrades now.

Still not long after Karas came forward Korvaiis saw Rakton step forward as well. He had known Rakton for a while now and gave him a simple nod which was returned, though a bit begrudgingly. An unpleasant individual overly wrapped up in his pride. But be that as it may he was more manpower which they needed.

It was not long after that another new Saiyan stepped forward and introduced herself as Eve Zefara. Korvaiis nodded to her and motioned towards Era.

"Miss Zefara, please stand beside my comrade Era. She's the one with the long violet hair."

Korvaiis was waiting to see which of the Saiyans would come and which would stay behind before saying anything more, but he was going to soon mention to Eve that Era was going to be the one to help her unlock the Zenkai. Eve's latent potential for infinite growth, like the rest of the Saiyans which had since made it here in the wake of their home world's destruction, was yet to be awakened.

Once Korvaiis knew who was coming with him, Eve's potential would be unlocked under Era's supervision.

But for now Korvaiis had to wait a bit longer to see which of those present would be coming with him. Dicchio, Raze, and Itta had yet to answer his call to help, and so he waited calmly and patiently though he was not going to do so for much longer.

After Rakton stepped forward, several other Saiyans in the crowd looked rather nervous. They, as members of Raid Group 12W, knew that their leader didn't tolerate cowards, and that once he got back--which he undoubtedly would, given his absurd power level--they would be given a most dire punishment for their refusal to go on this mission with him. Some 12W members were less cowardly, and stepped forward as soon as they noticed Rakton had. As more and more members of Rakton's raid group stepped forward, it created a cascade effect where the more cowardly gave into peer pressure in waves. Soon, about two dozen middle-class and Elite Saiyans were standing in front of Korvaiis, all belonging to Raid Group 12W.

"To grow up alone is a fate unbecoming of a Saiyan, but it has made me stronger than I dared hope. I can only continue to hope, and with luck I'll always have Era by my side to push me to even greater heights."

Korvaiis was satisfied that everyone who was coming with him had stepped forward. It was time to depart. The sooner the better. As cruel as it was to think of it in such a manner, while Inecros was occupied with their home worlds and their destruction Korvaiis and the others could get that much further ahead in their strategy.

"Everyone, let us be on our way. During these last few weeks I had our ships prepared in a starship which was a gift to me from Xol. Karas, our personal vessels are loaded and prepared for your care and attention. All the supplies you need are at your disposal."

With that he led everyone to the starship in the Launch Bay. It was around three hundred meters from nose to tail with enough room for over 100 Saiyans on board plus up to ten personal vessels in its own docking bay on the underside. It had all the state of the art defense weaponry and radar systems as well as state of the art communications. They'd be hard pressed to find a better ride while conserving their personal vessels for scouting missions and/or planetary landings.

It took approximately three hours to prepare everything and launch, but once in space they were well on their way. Korvaiis and Urod were at the bridge with a few of Xol's friends who had agreed to pilot the vessel for the Saiyans since it was beyond their knowledge or understanding... Well, maybe save for Karas.

Either way they were now in space traveling at the speed of light. It was a smooth and calm ride. As the Commander stood on the bridge looking out ahead at space traveling by he closed his eyes and wondered how long this calm would last?

They had their coordinates set for the first of many worlds which served as supply stations for Inecros' fleet. The world was approximately ten days away at this speed, but the Commander was nervous. His power was only just over 40,000 with Sil trailing right behind him. But she was the least acclimated to heavy combat among the group. The weakest enemies they'd be facing had power levels in excess of 15,000. Supposedly there'd be at least one Commanding Officer stationed there with a power level which was rumored to reach 70,000 at least.

Quite the foe.

Even with all of them working together they'd be hard pressed to defeat such an enemy. Especially if he was well trained. But they had to try. This ship was not designed for training or combat preparation. It was purely a travel and transport vehicle. But it was unrecognized by Inecros' forces which was the advantage that Korvaiis planned on exploiting. He wanted their personal Saiyan vessels to remain a secret until/unless absolutely necessary.

They had ten days before arriving... The question now was whether they were truly ready for this course of action.

Korvaiis had commissioned Karas to research and develop something which he'd caught wind of while chatting with Xol. A rejuvenation chamber. Supposedly with the chamber could synthesize the DNA of the subject to essentially overproduce and accelerate the replacement of dead and dying cells in the skin, muscles, bones, and even major organs. It also was said to release a soothing essence which relaxes the subject to allow for even more rapid rejuvenation. Such a device would prove invaluable if it was truly possible to build. The problem was that even Xol only had enough materials for one such chamber, and that was if Karas could build it.

Korvaiis had faith in his abilities, but such a device almost sounded too good to be true. But if they could get even one such device then they'd have a tremendous advantage in this venture. Being able to rapidly rejuvenate even a single Saiyan with the Zenkai abilities Era had since helped them to unlock? Xol even suggested that thanks to the liquid within acclimation to the new power level would not be necessary as the body would take care of that itself thanks to the overflow of newly synthesized DNA.

Korvaiis had given Karas orders that this chamber was the priority over their ships or any other elements of their venture at this time. Given that the chamber could be the difference between life and death, it was vital that if it could be built, it would be built.

Era had been given orders to help all of their allies, Rakton and his men included which Korvaiis was leery about, unlock their Zenkai. With all of the Saiyans now free to reach potentially unlimited power, they'd be much better prepared for the journey ahead. Within an hour of their departure and journey into space Era had taken care of her end unlocking the Zenkai in Rakton, Eve, and all the others as well.

Speaking of Era, she and Sil were resting in their room which they were sharing together. Sil wished to share a room with her old friend due to personal reasons, but Era didn't mind at all. The two of them sat in silence watching the stars fly past their window as Sil's expression of concern and fear began to weigh in on Era's conscience.

"What's wrong Sil? You've never looked this worried about anything before." She remarked.

"It's just... I-..." She stuttered.

When Sil began to tear up, Era was shocked and quite concerned. Sil wasn't the most confident of Saiyans when it came to her own abilities, but she never cried. Never. Not unless there was something worth crying about.

"Sil..."

"I'm scared Era... No, more than that I'm terrified." She said as the first tears began to fall.

Era put her hand on Sil's which were resting on her knees.

"Scared of what?" Era asked.

"What is there not to be scared of? We're about to attack Inecros' supply line. The moment we do he'll be informed of it and know that something is wrong and he'll come looking for us. How are we supposed to eliminate the supply line before he catches up to us? How are we supposed to survive the fight against his forces? We're one ship of maybe fifty or sixty Saiyans. Inecros has legions of followers and soldiers across the galaxy waiting to destroy us... What is there not to be scared of, Era? How can you be so calm about this?!" She cried.

Sil was getting frantic and her heart was beginning to race out of control.

Era saw a single bead of sweat drop from Sil's temple, and she took in a slow breath releasing it on a sigh.

"... I won't pretend I'm not scared, Sil. But at the same time I won't pretend that I don't have faith that we accomplish our goal. Inecros may have legions and he may be the most powerful being in the Galaxy, perhaps the universe. But he's still mortal, and all mortals die eventually." She said calmly.

Sil wiped her face with her forearm but said nothing.

"We have everything to be concerned about, Sil. But please don't lose heart. We're on a path from which we cannot turn back, and eventually Inecros will find us. But when he does we will be ready. Perhaps he is the most powerful being in the Galaxy, but I will not let that stop me from killing him. He's been around for too long and the reign of all tyrants comes to an end eventually. And mark my words Sil I will be the one to see his come to an end as well." She said.

Era gave Sil's hand a gentle squeeze and wore a confident smile.

"Inecros will fall Sil. Mark my words, and mark them well... He will fall." She said, her smile fading to a frown.

Sil was still frightened, but Era's confidence and the fire in her eyes were just enough to calm Sil down. She took a breath and let it out on a sigh to calm her heart rate and closed her eyes. Within moments she felt Era's breast against her cheek and shoulders. Era had embraced her in a hug and it was the kind of hug they had not shared for many years. Era had always been the big sister of the two, and this feeling of being held and cared for was enough to calm Sil all the way down and stop her tears as she returned the embrace.

"Inecros will fall... And I will be the one to bring him down. I swear it to you, and to all of our comrades. I will see him fall before me." Era repeated.

Sil nodded against her.

"Just don't die, Era. Please. Don't leave me behind. You're my strength. Without you I would have lived a life far different than that which I've enjoyed dup until now and likely ended up nothing more than another particle of space dust with Inecros' destruction of Metahnn. Promise me you won't die... Not without me." She begged.

Era smiled and stroked her hair.

"I promise Sil. You are the sister I never had and I swear I will never leave you alone in this world. But you'd better be sure you never leave me behind either. If we die, we die together. We are sisters after all." She said with calm confidence.

Sil nodded as a single final tear of joy fell from her eye to the floor beneath them. Era released Sil from the embrace and the two sat together in calm and quiet silence as they waited for the Commander's order to gather in the Control Room which would be taking place within the next hour or so. Until then the two sat together leaning against one another which was an appropriate symbolism of their relationship, having relied on each other for years as sisters despite sharing no common blood. They leaned on one another and supported each other to a greater extent than most blood siblings did. And they were absolutely ferocious in combat when together because of it. It was for this reason, among others, why Korvaiis had recruited them in the first place.

Well, there goes acclimating to my power level. And the ship upgrades, Karas thought as Korvaiis declared that they would be leaving in a measly three hours. He barely had enough time to get himself prepared before his ship was loaded into the transport and they were off. Karas had also loaded Comedy and Tragedy on the ship just in case.

When Korvaiis told him that he was going to be working on the ships, Karas responded with a simple, "Understood, sir. I'll prioritize the Rejuvenation Chamber, but if I have spare time I'll outfit the ships."

With that, Karas spent the next few hours working on the Rejuvenation Chamber from blueprints Xol had provided. He was nowhere near finished, but he decided to take a break for a while and explore the ship. He walked up to the bridge and sat down on one of the nearby chairs near his Zy'leth friend.

"Hey Xol, I've been meaning to ask you something. We rescued your child, but I've never seen him. What exactly happened to him?"

Xol responded, "Well, that's getting into our reproductive system, and you know that's a bit taboo between species..."

Karas simply raised an eyebrow in response.

Xol sighed and said, "Our gestation period is about five standard years. In that time, the fetus develops in a small pod that is left in a sort of flesh-like incubator building that relies on the atmosphere of Zy to function. Sort of like an insect colony if it were literally made of organic matter. We've managed to create artificial incubators to get around this limitation, but the fact remains that my kid is still gestating as we speak."

Karas was taken aback by this, and his eyes widened in shock. "So Au-Rath held an unborn child hostage to get you to work for them?"

"Yes. Au-Rath had no sense of ethics. They were an organization of sociopaths, only caring for power and influence. Threatening to kill an unborn child to get at his father is only scratching the surface of the levels they sunk to. I'm glad Korvaiis had them killed."

"You and me both. They sound worse than the average Planet Raider!"

Just then, Rakton walked into the bridge, overhearing that remark. "What did you just say, weakling?" Rakton snarled threateningly.

Karas simply looked at Rakton dully. "Nothing of your concern, amputator," he said in a businesslike manner.

Rakton now bore a smile that unsuccessfully hid his hatred. "Still holding that against me, eh? Never mind that you brutalized me several times in the sparring arena when my power level was lower than even yours. And what did the instructor do? Discipline you for going overboard? No he didn't! He just watched it happen and said, 'You should learn to accept pain. It is a natural part of Saiyan life and a strong will can turn pain into a tool for your survival. Pain should not be eliminated, but mastered.' In retrospect, he had a sound point. But I was young and stupid then, and I could only think of my Saiyan pride, and how you had utterly trashed it. So my friends and I did what any self-respecting Saiyan would have done: We took revenge, and restored our honor. I didn't mean to make you lose an arm, but I was still acting within the bounds of Saiyan ethics."

"You, meanwhile," Rakton continued, his face distorting into a sneer, "have let your honor be tarnished, over and over again! First by accepting a position that would have you clean up after Planet Raiders like me rather than taking part in the glory, second by making contact with your alien friends and letting weaklings influence your mind to become weak yourself, third by getting yourself rightfully kicked out of your lowly position by entertaining yourself with frivolous nonsense, fourth by accepting a humiliating Raid Group contract that would literally prevent you from taking part in battle ever again, and finally, most damningly of all, not doing anything to restore your ruined pride! You just sit back and let everyone know you don't even care for our highest values! You're a disgrace to the Saiyan people, one that despises our most cherished activity!"

The silence in the room was deafening. Rakton stood there with his arms crossed, thinking he had chastened Karas and his weakling alien friends the same way that Karas had chastened him a few days earlier. The Zy'leths all looked at Rakton with glares that bore unbridled hatred. Karas, just in case things got ugly, sent a command to Tragedy and Comedy to fuse and come to the bridge.

The Zy'leth whose job was to monitor the security feeds said, "Well, this is our ship. We paid for it. We mantain it. We own it. It's not yours. Since you despise us even though we've gone well out of our way to help you, at considerable expense no less, how about we part ways? You get in your ship and fly back to Outpost-IE, and the rest of us go destroy your worst enemy's supply line. How's that sound?"

Rakton shook with anger once more, this time a blood-red aura materializing around him as the brutal Saiyan began powering up in a fit of arrogance-fueled rage. "YOU WOULD DENY ME, A SAIYAN SUPER ELITE AND RAID GROUP COMMANDER, THE RIGHT TO FIGHT AGAINST INECROS!? YOU INSOLENT, DISGUSTING ALIEN FIL--AAAAAGH!" Rakton yelled before he began violently spasming on the floor, his body smoking. Black Comedy stood over him, the fusion holding a plasma blade to the arrogant Super Elite's neck.

"VIOLATION OF METAHNN COMBAT CODE, SECTION 4, SUBSECTION P: A WARRIOR WHO HARMS OR THREATENS TO HARM ALLIES ON A MISSION, EVEN DUE TO SAIYAN PRIDE, IS SUBJECT TO AN APPROPRIATE PUNISHMENT FROM THE MISSION LEADER. CURRENT MISSION LEADER: COMMANDER KORVAIIS DREHDEN OF RAID GROUP 02A. VIOLATOR: COMMANDER RAKTON SPEC OF RAID GROUP 12W. THIS EVENT HAS BEEN RECORDED AND SENT TO THE MISSION LEADER'S SCOUTER AS EVIDENCE. JUDGMENT PENDING," the fusion monotoned.

"Good timing, Black Comedy," Karas said. "Take him to Korvaiis. We're going to see if this son of a lart lives to see tomorrow."

With that, Karas left with Black Comedy and Rakton in tow, the Super Elite being held in a tight grip by the fused robot, given a periodic electric shock from Comedy's hand when he attempted to do something unruly. Soon, they came to Korvaiis' quarters, about ten minutes after the Commander had recieved Black Comedy's video transmission. Karas knocked on Korvaiis' door, hoping he didn't catch the Commander at a bad time.
