varda
queen of the stars
Okay, team. I am brimming with ideas and put it to you to help me decide which of these to pursue. I'm trying to fill roles and character archetypes we don't have yet. I can mix and match any of these ideas, if anyone has any input!
Human Spirit Healer
We're lacking a healer, in terms of composition. I'm imagining a Wynne type - older, sort of motherly, well experienced in the circle before she felt the calling to join the wardens. (Or maybe a someone a little younger if we're trying to stay away from copying Wynne too much?) Having been born on and working at a farm until the Circle took her, she's practically the girl (or mother) next door. Genuinely kind hearted and wise from experience, honest and straightforward in her dealings. Caring and thoughtful, as you might expect a healer to be. I see a lot of conflict with Seri, which could be good for story.
Human Rift Mage
She's beautiful, talented, and dangerously cunning - just as you expect anyone who has played The Game to be. Though she was born in Ferelden, this one grew up in the Court of Orlais. She returned to her motherland eventually, and voluntarily joined the Wardens shortly after. She has taken her oath to the Wardens and her devotion is plain for anyone to see, but you can't help the feeling that everything, she does for her own benefit. Many in the Wardens see her as two-faced. When above ground, you might see her as the equivalent of a modern-day PR or marketing face. The public and royalty adore her, but her fellow wardens know her tongue is as sharp as they come. She is not here to make friends, only to advance the interests of herself and the Grey Wardens.
City Elf Tempest/Artificer Rogue
This one is scrappy, and wears her heart on her sleeve. She's been in and out of the jail system of Ferelden (sometimes legally, sometimes not) for as long she can remember. She loves to stick it to those high-and-mighty human guards that are always stepping all over her people. (Though, she feels very disconnected from her 'people', having no living family that she knows of.) Her nimble fingers make her great at assembling finicky traps and picking thick locks, which gets her into a lot of trouble. She's also been dabbling in creating different mixtures, both helpful and hurtful. The last time she was imprisoned, she was conscripted into the Wardens, which she felt like offered her a chance to get out of that godforsaken city. She's still very new to the wardens and is curious about her role and the purpose of Wardens in general.
Dalish Elf Assassin Rogue
A woman of few words, as she rarely needs them. Equally deadly at range with a bow or up close with a pair of daggers. Her stoic nature may seem standoffish to some, but in reality she feels an extreme amount of loyalty to her fellow Wardens. She considers the Wardens her new clan, though she sees their customs as strange. She struggles to find balance between assimilating into her new clan and preserving the traditions of her Dalish heritage. Originally grew up within a clan, but left them to be in service to the Grey Wardens. She considers it one of the highest honors to be fighting for not only her people but the sake of everyone.
