Her pathetic attempts to get past his forcefields were wearing her down even more, holding her injured hand to her chest as her other attempted to smack into it. She was caught off guard as all a sudden it had vanished before she could stop herself. She stumbled, almost falling at the lost of her footing. Her eyes widened, a little alarmed to feel him gripping at her arms “Wait.. Adrian.. Please!” She shrieked as the forecefields surrounded her arms, starting to panick in the slightest. She didn’t like that fact that she couldn’t move her arms, attempting to kick at his legs. She wasn’t trying to hurt him, just trying to free herself. Even with her pleading, she realized a moment after, she was pinned to the ground. She couldn’t use her arms, her legs, anything. At this point, she felt like she was suffocating, almost passing out at her loss of oxygen as she was slammed down. Her breathing became sharper and sharper as the panic set in

“NO!” Her crying quickly turning to sobs, attempting to kick her legs and move her arms “LET ME OUT, ADRIAN, PLEASE!” She shrieked a blegging plead, what breathing she had sharp and completely panicked. “LET ME OUT!” Her voice gave out, horse and sore, she turned to the only thing she could do, gasp for air through her sobbing. Her claustrophobia has been caused by her being trapped in a fallen home a long time ago.The roof had caved in and she wasn’t able to get herself out. She had been there for a few days before she was found by her searching family, and since then, tight spaces never did her any justice. She had started violently coughing, her chest aching and her mind not doing her any ounce of good. After the two minutes of enclosed torture, she was released from her trap, dropping to the ground. She inhaled sharply, laying on her side on the chilled floor below her. She curled in, covering her face as she shuttered heavily, her lungs feeling like they were threatening to pop “W-Why didn-“ She paused before she finished her sentence, realizing her comment would only hurt him more. Her body shaking so violently she couldn’t even prop herself up to sit up. She was compeltley embarrassed for herself, her face red and covered in wet tears, her ass getting kicked so hard. But even the physical pain didn’t match her current mental toll

It had been months since their escape. Ayumi and Neil, and the two have been on the run ever since. When they had escaped the facility, it was nearly cutthroat, since they almost got captured. Ayumi's plan was only designed for herself, but after she had met Neil while in the facility and he had grown on her, she couldn't just leave him behind. He was way too soft for that place, at least that is what Ayumi saw in her eyes. The reason why she associated herself with Neil is that she saw a part of her in him, the way his personality was is exactly how she was before she entered the facility. Kind-hearted and a happy person. But ever since she was taken to that facility, it was as if Ayumi shut all her humanity off and was only designed to kill. At night, her actions would haunt her and cause her to have night terrors where she wakes up screaming or crying or even both sometimes. Her mental state at the facility was completely messed up, and the others feared her, as they should. Ayumi didn't allow anyone to touch her since she got enough of that going on with the guards when they would act up.

Neil seemed to be the only one to understand her and see through her pain, he never did judge her. Which is why she broke out of that hell hole with him.

Ayumi wanted to remove the tracking chip from Neil, but every time she suggested it, he would deny and start shaking. Every tracking chip was implanted somewhere in a person's body. Some would be easy to remove, while others were hard to remove. Ayumi's was in her arm, but as for Neil, his was in the neck. He was afraid that he would bleed out or she would hit a nerve and cause him to be paralyzed, but she promised him that she wouldn't let him die. She would heal him by taking from his energy and storing it until she could later harness it with her own and heal him. The pain would be excruciating, but the healing would be fast.

They are going to meet with Veneth and Emmaline in the city at the market on the poor side of town. They both are keeping a low profile since there is government eye everywhere. Ayumi didn't talk much and if she did, it was only to Neil. She was pretty quiet for the most part. As they walked through the market, Ayumi kept a look out for any suspicious activity that would result in them being captured. She was mostly the fighter, Neil, not so much.

"You know, when we find Emmaline and Veneth, I'm going to see if Emmaline can heal you if I were to remove the chip. I don't want us getting captured, Neil." Ayumi said to him as she looked around.

Ayumi and Neil have a unique relationship, to some, it looks as though they are a couple, but Ayumi has never fallen in love with anyone. She was afraid to have any physical activity with anyone, afraid that she would take their life energy/force if she were to kiss anyone. But at the facility, she learned to control it. Ayumi used to think that if someone touched her by accident she would unconsciously take their energy/force, but what she didn't know is that she could stop herself from doing so by focusing on that specific person long enough for her to not drain their energy. It took a lot of practice for her to be able to do so, and a lot of 'guinea pigs' to be forced to take part. But in the end, she mastered it. It's her most accomplished task since she never thought she could feel the skin of another. Now she can turn it on or off when she wanted.

After everything that happened, Adrian barely moved other than to get up and sit in the corner of the room; knees pressing against his chest and his face buried in his arms. There were no sounds that came from him anymore when he cried. The only way one could tell that Adrian was still crying was how his body shook. He looked so much smaller all balled up in the corner, but he felt safe there. Or safer at least. Serenity's screams made everything worse, but he had to do it. Although he would probably have nightmares about it all later. It was either that or potentially watch Benji die and, while it had been a hard choice, he would rather potentially lose a friend than watch someone lose their life. So while everyone else fought, Adrian sat there in pain. Remaining completely still because of the physical pain he was in and not looking nor speaking to anyone else because of the emotional and mental beating he had taken.

Kkachi Corvidae
(19/Misfortune/Tages: N/A )

Kkachi watched in horror as the two fighters remained battered and bruised, crying as though no one else was in that room.

This terror, this absolute inhumane carnage would not stand. He raised his head and stared at the sadistic general who seemed to overshadow them all. A room full of people with amazing abilities turned into crying children by a regular man with a button. Blood filled Kkachi's mouth as he realized he was biting his cheek to the point of puncture.

Rage filled his veins and his demeanor changed into something like a savage beast kept away in a cage.

It had been a crazy few... how long had it been? A while since they escaped their prison and started their lives as fugitives. Neil couldn't stop the yawn that escaped him. He opened his mouth wide to intake the sweet, polluted air of the city. The noisy sound of it all was one thing but he yawned for so long, a bug attempted to make a new home in his mouth. He sputtered out while swatting at his mouth and doing a small dance in disgust. The buzzing insect flew away- unharmed from the waddling strawberry who took offense of its presence. He gave it a glare before turning his attention back to his partner, Ayumi. She was as tough as they came and just as demanding. Her long, ebony hair swayed with her hips as she walked with determination in front of him. "Ugh, did you see that- Yumi? That bug had it out for me." He grinned at her normally stoic face as he brushed his sweating palms against the front of his pants. He was drawing a lot of attention with his normal- noisy antics but that wasn't new. He looked at her while she talked about their so-called targets. They were beacons in this city- and they were closer to the facility than they had ever been before. He could understand her worry- but still, he was just as carefree as he always was. "You worry too much," he chided as he put his arms behind his head in a relaxed manner. "Asking Emmaline such a thing would put her at risk, you know. Plus, they have no idea we are coming. Sort of rude to just go up to them asking them for favors isn't it?" His voice took on a mocking tone, "Hello there. You don't know me but I know you. My name is Neil and I am here to save you. Oh and by the way can you risk your life to pull out this chip- it is a real problem. Yeah, they aren't going to go for that." He chuckled to himself at the thought. "Oh yeah, before I forget. Some nice lady gave this to me. I know how you like sweets and it has been while." He shoved his hand into his pocket and pulled out a round, hard sweet wrapped in bright yellow paper. He offered it to her without a second thought. "She said I reminded her of her son. Can you believe it? I thought I was pretty much a one of a kind type of fellow." His amber colored eyes caught movement in the shadows. He was still completely relaxed as he turned his attention back to the beautiful woman next to him. "Will you stop scowling so much? People are staring. They probably think you kidnapped me and is holding me hostage for... reasons." He wiggled his eyebrows playfully but he knew he didn't mean it. He learned a lot about Ayumi and for one- he knew she didn't like being touched. He respected her too much to make her uncomfortable like that- however, that never stopped him from being the laid-back, playful guy he is. "Getting Emmaline and Veneth is going to help us out immensely you know. But I would anticipate some trouble. I think the probability is... 90 percent likely. Nothing you can't handle if things get out of control. But hey- please don't kill anyone. We don't need the trouble right now."

Serenity was finally able to stand, a little woozy, but she had finally found her footing. She had wanted to get off the floor as soon as possible to avoid the other fights. As she saw an approaching nurse, she quickly waved them off, not wanting them to approach her right now, She had to realize she had a main objective to get to. So she just carefully resting her hand against her stomach. She couldn’t move it much with it hurting like hell, but she did what she could with it. Even if Angel would refuse to speak, she wanted to at least let him know she wasn’t mad at him, because even if she should, she wasn’t. She knew it wasn’t anything against her, but she had wished he wouldn’t have pinned her down, pinning her arms had been just enough. She pushed those thoughts aside as she carefully slid down a wall. She groaned weakly, slowly sitting down next to him. She didn’t speak for a moment, trying to collect her thoughts “Hi..” She managed at first, clearing her throat to try and throw aside how hoarse her voice had gotten “I uh..” She sighed quietly, using her uninjured hand to wipe the sweat off her face “Wanted to congratulate you on your win..” She mentally smacked herself for even thinking of saying that, realizing she just let it slip out. She gave a weak little sheepish laugh “S-Sorry..” She muttered “I am great at this..” She muttered under her breath, looking down at her hand. It had been red when it had impacted against the shield, the place of contact now bruising a little. She didn’t think it was broken, nothing had snapped thankfully, but it still hurt. It didn’t help that it was her dominant hand, but she wouldn’t say that out loud. “I just wanted to let you know.. That I’m not mad for any of what you did..” Her voice was barely above a whisper, almost not audible “I know you didn’t want to.. I didn’t want to.. you don’t have to talk to me, and that’s fine.. And maybe I should be mad.. but I just.. can’t being myself to be..” She leaned her head back for a moment, the idea of standing up already excruciating to merely think about. She could feel the bruise forming at her shoulder, how sore both her arms were, how her legs were probably black and blue and maybe even purple to finish out the colors “I’m sorry.. I’ll uh.. go..” She mumbles, attempting to push herself off the ground

That stung. Even though he knew she hadn't meant to say it, Ren's comment on his win had Adrian visibly flinch as if someone had just punched him. And just as Serenity expected, he didn't say a single word. He was too afraid that, if he spoke, he would just start crying again and he didn't want to show General Milo anymore weakness than he had already shown by crying in a corner. Despite that, he couldn't will himself out of the corner or even out of the balled up position he was in. When Serenity approached him, Adrian visibly tensed in fear of anything negative. He was afraid she would hate him -no longer want to be friends and that he would be alone all over again with no one to talk to. Instead, she said that she wasn't mad at him. That nearly had Adrian break down yet again; biting his lower lip hard enough to make it bleed just to get him to keep it all together. He wanted to tell Serenity to stay because he could really use a friend right now, but no words came out. Instead he just sat in the same position in complete and utter silence; not wanting to watch the other fights because it would only hurt even more.

Ayumi rolled her eyes when he told her that she worried too much. He should be the one worried, he still had that damn chip in his neck and he's like a free chicken ready to be slaughtered if caught. Ayumi shook her head and let out a sigh, "If I'm not worried, who else will be worried? You're too carefree." She told him, Ayumi was always honest with him, often times a little too honest/blunt. But he has been around her for so long that he has gotten used to it.

Ayumi tried to relax, but she couldn't. She always had to be on the lookout, you never know what might happen or who might sneak up on the two. Just two months ago, they were almost caught and she had to quickly get them out of that situation or they would have been captured, it was a close call.

If Ayumi didn't care for him as much as she secretly does, she would have taken the chip out of his neck whether he liked it or not.

But she knew that it was pretty wrong of her to ask for a favor so quick, she should know better. Even she doesn't give favors out like that, so why did she suspect someone would too? "You're right, they aren't going too. Also, where are they located again?" She said in defeat, kind of sad. Her ears perked up when she heard him say, sweets. She turned her head and looked at him and then watched as he rummaged through his pocket to take the candy out.

"You want me to eat candy a stranger gave you? I don't know what's more frightening, the candy that was trapped in your pocket or the fact that a stranger gave it to you." She said softly as she took the candy from him. She thought the gesture was sweet of him, and so she saved the candy for later by putting it in a small pouch she had on her.

Ayumi was still looking out, but Neil scowled her again since she looked really creeping and terrifying when doing so. "I know the other ten percent will result in me fighting...and you still think that I kill for fun? I only kill people out of survival...or accident." She said to him as her tone of voice became quiet when she said the last two words.

Serenity groaned quietly in her attempt to sit up, her good arm aching as she strained to try and get up. Giving up, she just slumped back against the wall. She wanted to cry. For multiple reasons. One being, she easily noticed his flinch, and she hated herself for it. She knew it hurt him and she wished she could take it back. She also wanted to leave and just sleep, but apparently, they couldn’t leave. So she just sat there patiently, trying to think of something to say. She wanted him to talk to her, even a simple word would do, but getting nothing from him broke her even worse than she already was. She only lifted her head to watch the fights to busy herself, watching the blows and the defensive statures. She reached up to unravel her bun, her curls flopping down awkwardly over her face. She chuckled weakly, pushing her hair back. She pulled her knee up to her chest to rest her cheek against it. As she did, she faced Angel. She closed her eyes for a moment, just resting them. She was still trying to control her breathing a little, the sharp pain hitting her chest every time she breathed. She had a feeling that would take a while to go away. “So..” She said quietly, rubbing at her eyes. She figured to steer clear of any comments of the fights around them, and especially there’s. She just wanted to talk to him, bust him out of the depressive shell he sat in. “Had you really talked to many people in here before today?” She tried, lifting her cheek off of her knee as she pressed her forehead into it. ‘What’s the use..’ She thought to herself, scowling a little ‘It’s my dammed fault he’s in so much pain.. if I could’ve just.. not screamed.. or something..’. She shut her eyes tightly, realizing she had started to bite at her nails

Daniel Grimes
(Location: Training Room/ Mentioned: WelcomeToHell WelcomeToHell & Elm Elm & P pushed / Tagged: T Tinytiger28 )

He was neutralized easily. That's all that ran through Dan's head. One minute he's throwing swift punches, next he's suddenly pinned to the ground. Benji's scolding went through one ear and out the other as he's dumbstruck by the quick action. A large grin sprouts from his pale skin realizing he's found his match. Finally something new to look forward to rather than dull opponents with not enough bite into them. As overjoyed as he is to have gained a new found feeling, Daniel couldn't very well forget the fact that he's just been taken down by an old geezer. Eyes focused on him as he remains flat on the ground. Annoyed by prying eyes he shoots up to his feet. Embers spark from his body, his grin shaped into a frown as smoke steams from his mouth. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!" He roared startling everyone as they avert their gaze. Determined to continue the fight, Dan dashes out of the cafeteria and into the hallway where he whips his head around in search of the male. Winging a direction, he rounds the corner to find his target, but before he could call out to him he observes the small, affectionate scene between Scar-face and a platinum, blonde haired boy no younger than him. Daniel felt hesitant to call out to Benji as it seems the boy had beat him to it with delight. Dan couldn't understand why, but that small moment between those two had him second guessing the male as well as humans in general. He's never seen such interaction in his lifetime in the Facility. To think such a thing could exist?

Before Daniel can even fall deeper into his subconscious, General Kace Milo announced the listed members into the training grounds, including himself. In his time captive here, he knew of this man's authority to always be wary. It seems this is one of them. Daniel lets out an exasperated sigh of irritation as he casually shoves his hands into his coat pockets. "What the hell does this guy want now?" He grumbled. Nonetheless, he trudged into the training room where he took a seat in a slouching manner ready for the meeting to begin.

He listened to General babble until his ears perked to the outside world. He scoffed when Milo said: "It is utter madness out there." "Yeah like you would know." He muttered under his breath to himself. All eyes turn to Benji when mentioned. The same person Daniel grew interested in beating to the ground. "So that's his name?He really is an old fart." He thought. Everything sounded like a piece of cake to Dan. He had no doubt that he will be the one to get a second chance at seeing the outside world and of course take pleasure in earning his right with a simple fight. His attention reverts when Daniel's name is mentioned again about the fight. Someone must have snitched them out. A guard no doubt when they're everywhere. Panic rushed through him instantly snapping his gaze over to between Benjamin and the general. "He wouldn't?!" He wondered. Fear and guilt consumed him, eyes wide pasted on Benji as the general displays his example using physical pain. Everyone witness the horror of disobedience at full force as the dictator electrocutes his rival. Anger coursing through him as he balls his fists till the whites of his knuckles are visible. His Amber eyes unable to tear away from the spasming man howling in pain until the last minute. Conflicted, but surely, Daniel wanted nothing more than to run up to this prick and light him on fire. No, he wanted beat the living shit out of Milo, impale him and burn him from the inside as he watches the lights of his eyes die out. Nobody really deserves this torture. No matter how much of piece of crap person they are. Perhaps that was just him starting to turn soft from the scene before entering into this shit show. Dan knew better than to even provoke someone who literally hold's one's life without having to lift a finger or for the assaulter to even be able to lay a hand on them before dropping dead. What could he do except be someone's dog and that is exactly what he knew he signed up for in return to just inflict pain onto others. There was a small part of him that nagged him about his decision on continuing to obtain that goal. A sense of regret.

"Any questions?" The general asked. None. It was clear that was a rhetorical question. Sick freak. There is no other option and anyone wise would know to keep one's mouth shut and obey. The first battle round is between a curly, blonde hair and the same boy he's seen in the hallway earlier with Benji. Intrigued, Daniel sat back not only to observe their skills and battle strategies but as well as to process everything as he gradually fixes his composure. His focus soon drifts onto the battle field amused by both of the pair's determination, yet it would be a lie if he didn't feel a slight pain when seeing the two cry in agony, forced to fight each other. It showed there is no haven. Anything involving emotions or sense of hope only leads to disaster. In this world it's always kill or be killed without question. Strive to survive. Holding onto trust is a sign of weakness. A lesson he's learned so many times in the facility. So many fell leaving him be whom he is now. Bittersweet. After, Adrian's and Serenity's battle, Daniel has come to a conclusion that Adrian is able to make barriers or so he assumed. He'd be wise to take this in mind. Same with the girl. Although she may not seem like it, she was more than just a 'Powder Puff'. She appears capable of taking hits. Her weapon shifting is indeed impressive, yet she lacked focus even balance. Perhaps with a little more practice she could indeed be difficult to handle if ever he gets the chance to compete with her.

Daniel shakes the wails, and distraught cries away knowing those two have officially been broken emotionally; he rises to his feet wanting to get this over with. "Alright. Baxter kid, whoever you are, better get down here now and get this over with unless you really want to die?" He called out wandering over to the battle field awaiting for his match while popping his knuckles. His eyes search the faces on the bleachers.

Rowan Summers
Facility Training Room
Affected RP'ers:
T Tinytiger28 P pushed Yushin Yushin (And everyone else in the training room)

If Rowan had to pinpoint the moment he'd regretted his decision to enter this facility, it wasn't when he'd been injected with the chip, it wasn't when he'd heard he'd immediately be thrown into a fight which people he'd never met, it wasn't even when he'd watched one of the other 'specials' writhing in agony to the chip he'd just let be implanted in him. No, it was right here and now, standing next to the strangely mute person he'd been brought in with, watching this person reduce himself to an emotional husk in battle.

'I had my suspicions when I saw that mask the doc was using as a face, hiding away whatever emotion she had toward what was done here, but this...' He was certain his expression, which had remained analytical and mostly uncaring up until the woman had screamed to be released from her containment, was now reflecting the horror he was feeling inside. Every blow he did against was a blow to himself... but that's not the all. The way she reacted, she clearly has some trauma related to being trapped like that. He knew that, he knew what would happen and he did it anyway. To this person, whom he clearly cared for deeply. Those wounds cut deeper than any physical injury ever could, to force someone to relive that trauma even for a short moment risks a lot more than your relationship, it could change their very person, their entire outlook on certain aspects of life. To go such lengths... what was he picturing? The only thing that drives people that far is when the likely future is a situation even worse than the one they can cause by doing this. What in the name of all thing free on this earth can the people in this facility do that would drive this person to such lengths?'

Suddenly the words of the young general floated back through his mind. You will only stop fighting after one is unable to fight back- and if I see that you aren't trying your best, you'll be properly disqualified. Benji, as the team leader, will receive the punishment for anyone who is disqualified. It will teach him a lot about responsibility and the team."

'That throws Benji in this mix as well, did he willingly do this to her and to himself so Benji wouldn't be punished? He clearly has a more thorough grasp of what this facility is capable of than I do, I don't know this facility or these people enough to understand what's going on in their minds. Perhaps I should simply assume the worst case scenario for now. In that case, he fought like that because he had not choice but to go all out in order to avoid whatever fate he was afraid of. He had confidence that the facility would know immediately that he wasn't going all out if he didn't take advantage of her trauma. That would mean that the facility has complete knowledge of everyone held captive here. Their strengths, their weaknesses, their knowledge of the weakness and strengths of those around them, their entire range of emotions toward every person they interact with. With that kind of knowledge, this facility could have easily known this would have been the outcome of this particular pairing in these circumstances. They'd have done it on purpose, choosing between different options like they were pieces on a chess board.

Or puppets on a string.'

The mere thought made Rowan curl his hand into a fist. If it wasn't for the fresh burning sensation where the chip had been implanted inside him, he'd already of punched someone. Instead he turned and walked away, toward where his assigned fighter was. It wasn't fair, really, that he'd be using this fight as an outlet for his emotions. No point in thinking about that now though. Even if that first fight had thrown his mind into havoc, he was still much more interested in being able to travel outside the city's border than he'd like to admit. And if this guy had the resolve to destroy himself for his cause, Rowan wasn't about to put on some half-assed show.

Standing before his opponent, Rowan held out a hand. "Hey. Name's Rowan. Rowan Summers. Just wanted to ask you before we have our turn, but what's your favorite color?"

Kkachi Corvidae
(19/Misfortune/Tages: Morzone Morzone )

There was something in his voice that put Kkachi at ease. BY all means, a regular person would fear for their life if they were met with something like this; A hellhole fight scenario and some taller, blonde guy is asking their favorite color? This was Kkachi's first thought too, but his tone spoke infinite shades of emotion. The person standing before him, introduced as Rowan, was Kkachi's opponent, and in the next coming moments would either be lying immobilized on the ground or standing above him in victory.

"Red", He met Rowan's hand with a firm grasp. "Kkachi Corvidae. Good luck to you."

"Ah I try not to rely on luck too much, but thanks anyway. Red, huh. The people who choose that are usually pretty confident in themselves." Rowan replied. He looked Kkachi up and down. They were roughly the same height, Rowan maybe an inch or so taller. He seemed fairly fit as well, probably used to outdoor manual labor like Rowan was. There wouldn't be too much difference in physical strength, probably not in endurance either. He didn't seem to care much for appearances either, judging by his unkempt facial hair. If Rowan had to guess, Kkachi probably wasn't the kind of fighter who liked to play tricks and manipulate his opponent. Still, he'd have to be a pretty big fool if he was going to believe appearances really meant much, considering his abilities.

Kkachi Corvidae
(19/Misfortune/Tages: Morzone Morzone )

Slightly taller, but not by much. Slightly older, but not by much. Fit, active. He had a child-like nature about him, that showed through his dull, green, almost arrogant eyes. Kkachi wasn't used to sizing people up but had a knack for noticing small details, like how he held himself in a way that suggested his disdain for being controlled. He'd fall under something of a Chaotic Neutral, in Kkachi's opinion. This was good, he could use that.

A small ring caught his eye. Under any other circumstance, he'd ask about its significance, but the only thing on Kkachi's mind was to avoid a right punch.

A million thoughts ran through his head. What was Rowan's ability? Did he rely on it or was he more of a close-combatant? What's his motive for such a direct approach.

A form of respect formed in Kkachi's being. Perhaps it would be a good idea to remain on good terms with this guy.

"Confidence. Yeah, I'll take that." Responded Kkachi, allowing a wry smirk to appear on his usually neutral face. "You seem to know what you're doing too. Any experience?"

Lena Daubney
18 | Air Density Manipulation | Facility: Training Room

Fight until one can't fight back anymore, huh? A small dry, joyless chuckle escaped Lena's lips at that instruction. That wasn't sparring, that was an actual fight that just didn't happen to be to the death. She bit her lip thoughtfully. Well, the situation was an unpleasant reminder that this place wasn't all about warm breakfast, chitchat and developing her power better, but Lena could deal with that.

What was harder for her to deal with was what came next. Having someone else punished for her mistakes - that idea alone rubbed her the wrong way. It felt wrong. If she chose to disobey, it was her call to do so, and her who should receive punishment if caught. Anything else was simply... Lena's frown deepened.

And then, of course, the demonstration of the procedure on the boy she now knew to be called Benjamin. Lena wasn't exactly a stranger to seeing people in pain, it was a fairly common thing in the outskirts and she had had her share of the experiences on both sides. Still, her stomach twisted and her hand unconsciously went to her neck where her own chip was located.

Right now, Lena had to focus on her own well-being though, if she didn't want to go through the shocks herself. She closed her eyes for a moment in an effort to dispel the cruel scene from her mind. You've survived the city. They won't kill you here, at least, for what it's worth, she tried to reassure her herself, then turned to look to Hitomi. The dark-haired girl was still staring towards Benjamin. Her expression was blank, but Lena saw how her shoulders were tensed up.

How was she going to fight her? "Pain transfer", Hitomi had said. Whatever exactly it entailed, it would be best for Lena to not try and go into their match-up with what mediocre amount of brute force she had. If she could pin down her opponent without hurting her too much, though, they might get out of this "sparring" with only a bruise or two each. Hitomi didn't know about the part of Lena's power that created small vacuums between her hands and what she touched - not explicitly, anyway. That might be helpful.

She cleared her throat as the other youths started to turn to their assignments. One of the pairs was seemingly still talking, but Lena caught a glance of Serenity fighting with the boy who had left the breakfast table shortly before she had joined it. Adrian, according to the announcement. Both their powers made quite an impressive sight, far flashier than whatever would go down between herself and Hitomi.

"Shall we get this behind us, then?" Lena asked her training partner - if you could call it that under these circumstances - with an unhappy smile.

Dax jumped as the first blow was thrown, sending a woman flying across the room an straight into a wall. So this could start at any second, then. It was like they couldn’t make it terrifying enough. And he had no idea who Daniel was. Or what his powers were like. Or anything, really. The only advantage he had was that no one knew about his own powers, but that wouldn’t be useful for long.
Unease settled in Dax’s gut as he stood frozen, watching them practically go insane. This was ten tmes worse than anything Dax could’ve anticipated. They acted like wild animals. Horror enveloped his chest as he watched the woman furiously beat against the shield the blonde guy had created with her bare hands. He wanted to look away, but... as horrifying as it was he needed as much help as he could get. He watched attentively, trying to pick apart their fighting forms or how they did hand to hand.
It was useless. He barely understood what was going on, much less how to do it himself. He’s be toast within seconds.
The battle ended, leaving him in a room of people stunned into silence. Then, a man stepped forward, calling out for some guy named “Baxter”. It took Dax a second to realize he was talking about him.
Crap.
This dude had at least a foot of height in him, looked ten times more terrifying than him, and was threatening to end his life if he didn’t get over there. He momentarily debated getting in a surprise hit, but this guy- er, Daniel, wan’t anyone he wanted to make an enemy of. Dax gulped, and headed toward him. Might as well meet the guy before he got his ass kicked. Maybe this way he wouldn’t get murdered at the end.
Oh god, he was trembling.
He was dead.
Very dead.
Dax waved hello as he began to bite his lip once again, silently pleading that he wasn’t serious about the whole death thing.

Hitomi didn't answer, instead she threw an awkward punch. There was no doubt that things would be over quickly but it had to look genuine. It was a simple matter of time. Should things end too hastily, suspicion would make its way into the minds of their observers. Conversely, acting too slow would convey that she had little if any interest in trying her best. What this situation required she was at a loss to provide, but that rarely stopped her from trying.

As Daniel waits, a small, scrawny built boy stands across from him waving. He appeared skittish by his body language of how frightened he is. What's more amusing of just how weak looking he is compared to what he was expecting. It took a moment to process every detail before letting out a snort and then suddenly bursting out laughing holding his stomach. "You have got to be kidding me! This guy? Really? He doesn't even seem all that strong. On the contrary he looks like anyone would just push him with a finger he'll easily fall. What a joke." He shook his head fixing his composure. "Well small fry let's see just what you've got, huh?" The time for talking is over though he wouldn't mind procrastinating a little more seeing how everyone has a perfect match while he's stuck with the easy one. It wil take hours before anyonr here is finished.

Mistake, Lena realized an instant before Hitomi's fist hit her shoulder and she let out a grunt of mostly surprise and frustration at herself. If she had been that little on edge about being attacked outside in the slums, she wouldn't have seen her 16th birthday, maybe even her 15th. On the other hand, she had newfound respect for Hitomi - being able to take advantage of Lena's heedlessness meant that her quiet demeanor earlier wasn't a sign of passivity. And she wasn't afraid to take the initiative and throw herself right into the fight, either.

The blow hadn't had too much force behind it, so while it did hurt somewhat, it didn't stop Lena from starting her counteroffensive. Grips and throws, she reminded herself and put a portion of her mind to preparing the slight vacuum over her palms to improve her grasp on whatever she touched as she fell into a more suitable stance for fighting: legs spaced evenly so that she might have placed her feet on the diagonally opposite corners of a square, knees bent and hands raised to shield her head and upper body.

Hitomi's punch meant that she was within arm's length of Lena, so Lena lunged forward, clutching her shoulders and moved her front leg behind Hitomi's, then pushed on one shoulder and pulled on the other. A basic throw, but it would do the job unless her opponent managed to step away from Lena's leg far enough she couldn't trip her over it.

Dax shrunk under the ridicule. As true as it was, he didn’t need any reminders of the absolute ass kicking that was in store for him. He was already terrified enough as it was...
His stomach churned. Better get this over with as soon as possible.
He was only a few feet away, definitely not enough to shoot something loud enough to have any effect on the guy, not to mention he still had no clue what powers he had. Dax gulped, backing up a few feet, far enough to get off at least some kind of hit, and nodded slightly to signal his complete lack of readiness to start. Silently, he held his right hand into a position to snap, angling it so his thumb pointed towards Daniel.

Daniel quirks a brow wondering what's about to happen. He took the time to pause and see for himself when he realized there was nothing. He sighs heavily assuming the kid wasn't planning to stike any time soon. "Okay." He simply grunted starting to casually walk over to Dax to toy with his state of mind hoping to trigger him. "Come on lad, hit me with your best shot before I walk up to you and tear you like a rag doll that you are." He sneered mockingly with his eyes locked onto Dax's eyes. There was a dark allure in his own almost twisted as if enjoying himself.

Dax barely payed attention to whatever the guy was saying, more to the important things. Body language, whatever strategy he might be trying to employ. He would only have the element of surprise once with this...
He braced himself as Daniel slowly walked toward him, seeming nonchalant. Gulping, he stared directly at him, attempting to put his fears to the back of his mind. Every second he hesitated made his next strike weaker, but still, his mind buzzed with anxiety. So many things could go wrong...
Banishing those thoughts from his head, he snapped his hand. A simple gesture that would usually make no more noise than a swift click. Focusing in on the sound, Dax spread his hand flat, feeling it pushing the soundwaves larger as he did so, amplifying them as quickly as possible as it neared his target. Within moments, an blast of waves was shooting toward Daniel, growing stronger by the second.

Dan felt a gust of wind before he's pushed back into the ground. Dax's attack wasn't as strong but impressively effective when unexpected. The ebony haired male groans as his ears are suddenly ringing at at a higher pitch than normal. The endless ring nor only anmoyed him, but also has him growing a sudden migraine. The throbbing in his head causing him to lose focus. Eyes dart over to Dax trying to figure out what he's done and what sort of abilities he has stashed away. It was certainly a mystery worth discovering. Hopefully he's wrong and this battle is about to take a different turn than he thought.

Daniel picks himself up while still dealing with the annoying ring in his ears. Once his body regained a sense of relief, he sprints over to Dax once more with vigilance of his opponent. Nothing in the facility is to be taken lightly, especially those with powers. Anything is possible. Even this kid could be more than meets the eye, yet he had no intention of revealing his powers just yet knowing how reserved about them he is.

Daxter watched warily as the soundblast shot towards the man, pushing the amber eyed man to the ground with a thump. He paused, waiting to see what would happen as his ears buzzed with adrenaline, and a slight ring from the roaring of the blast, but he was used to that by now.
The jet black haired man stood back up as if it was nothing and started sprinting toward him and he had NOT planned this far.
Crap.
Okay, just think.
Dax subconsciously bit his lip as he scrambled backward, trying to buy time, and distance if possible. There was no way he was winning a hand to hand fight, especially if Daniel could use his ability well in close range. Perhaps he could try to blind him somehow? How would he do that? And, even then, he wasn’t sure how long he could silence soundwaves for, having usually used them only for a few seconds to provide a good enough cover for escape back on the streets. Maybe he could try to make a louder sound to help decrease the space needed to make an effective blast? Perhaps-
His back hit something cool behind him. The wall of the room. He had run iut of space.
Daniel was within a few of him now, but Dax was desperate. In a moment of poor decision making, he snapped, shooting off another blast. As he spread his hand to amplify the sound, he could already feel that it was weaker. There was no boom this time, but a loud clap, not nearly as loud as before.

Again Daniel is somehow tossed back just a little. He groans in pain sneaking a glace from one eye up to the frightened boy. Is there a possibility this guy can manipulate air? If so, it wouldn't much affect him but instead go both ways of lower his flame or highten. No there was something else. Air wouldn't allow one's ears to ring after an attack. He wasn't quite sure what it was Dax can do, but he's sure he cannot get near him or rather doesn't want to by the position he's in. Once he's slightly recovered Dan notices the fear into the male's eyes. Back against the wall like a prey, small, and defenseless with no chance at even surviving this place with his appearance. Something inside the raven haired man had him pity the teen. More than that a sense of wanting to help the kid? The outcome of how horrible this place, it would eat Daxter alive. Why? Of all times why must he suddenly have a pang feeling to suddenly have some humanity in him knowing well of the consequences? Is it any better than searching and holding onto hope he so desired to believe? Benji displayed that onto the blonde one. Perhaps, just this once things can turn out differently.

As he stood back up, there was one way out of this to spare him so not only would he be fine, but maybe also kept from punishment. It's a long shot, yet he's wiling to go through with it. Sparks fly from Daniel's body as he begins heating up his temperature for a perfect use while dashing up to Dax just close enough to spew fire from his mouth creating a ring around Dax ash he's caged in. Next, the brute enters the ring with the boy and with the snap of his fingers creates a large vortex, flaming wall to keep from prying eyes. The ring was large enough for air for Dax to breath in as well as keeping him from burning completely. Amber eyes, meet Dax's brown ones. Facial expression softens just a little from being intimidating.

"Don't be afraid. I gotta ask ya something and I want the honest truth. Is this really the best you can do when fighting? If so, you won't last a day here. How badly do you want to live?" A hand is offered to the lad. He wouldn't doubt if the guy rejected him and just took the chance to attack him, but as be told himself this was a risk he is willing to take. "If so, I can help you. If you're willing?"
