Twenty five years ago,a meteorite storing a massive amount of DNA-altering nanobots,called DN Anites,impacted the Earth,releasing these Anites upon the world. Half the world's population were given incredible powers by the Anites,and began to see themselves superior to regular humans. Calling themselves the Gifted,they seek to wipe out the unaffected portion of humanity. A small group of Gifted,however,know the error of this,for while the Anites fortified the body to accomodate the powers they gave,the immune system was weakened. If a widespread virus broke out,the Gifted wouldn't stand a chance. That's where you come in. You might've been sent to a remote training camp to train to fight against the corrupted Gifted and help save the human race. Or,you might already be experienced in those areas,and have insted been sent to the camp as a Trainer. Or you may simply be a human looking for shelter. Whoever you are,you will have a signifigant role to play in the coming battle.

I stretched as I emerged onto the deck of the house,Ranger padding up beside me. I lowered an arm to scratch him behind the ears absently. "Well boy,what do ya think?",I asked him,"Should I expect some new Gifted today?". Hmmm...I'm not sure. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.,Ranger replied uncertainly.
 
i walked through the woods with Artemis and Berry on my shoulders. my ears and tail were covered and i pushed my glasses back onto my nose. Artemis said"do you think we'll find others Nichole?" i said"i dont know..."

    I emerged from a hole under a bush, i take a deep breath, my first breath of fresh air since my family threw me out and i was run out of town. Markissa comes out behind me helping me climb out. i smile and pat her on the head she sniffs the ground for any familiar scents. "Hello?! Is there anyone out there? Hello?!" i call out to the silence to see if i am not alone.

Ranger's ears perked up at something I couldn't hear, and a second later he told me, I smell wolf. I snapped my fingers to conjure a mirror in front of his face, and he glared at me and growled, You know what I mean. Snickering quietly, I took a few running steps before pushing off the ground, soaring high in the air to put the sun behind me. I scanned the ground below, casting my mind out to look through the eyes of a nearby stag. Found it...oh. Found them., I corrected myself, raising an eyebrow at the girl accompanying the furry intruder. Suddenly, Ranger's voice exploded in my head. CAT!, he yelled, racing off through the forest, oblivious to my exasperated cry of, Ranger! I sighed and continued to keep an eye on the girl.

The scent filled my nostrils and tempted me with it's hushed promises of...well, I wasn't sure yet. It was currently tied between a new playmate and food, the outcome depending on the cat's intentions. I stopped short of the scent's owner, hearing a pair of legs tromp through the brush just on the other side of the bush I was crouching behind. Pair of legs? Must be with a human. Wait..., I thought, then sniffed deeply. Now that I was closer, I could smell two cats instead of one. Waving it off, I got ready to jump through the bush at them. Then I did, a loud yell of, PLAAAY!, audible to anyone who could hear. Then I slammed against an invisible wall. A shade of Jason flickered into existence beside me as I staggered to my feet, the apparition chastising aloud, "Bad Ranger. Very bad Ranger. No pouncing at people who don't know you won't rip their throat out.", adding to the human stranger, "He won't, by the way.". He turned back to me and demanded angrily, "Now, you go back to the house right this instant.". I started to plead for myself, but he wouldn't have any of it as he said, "No buts, young man. Go to my room.", pointing in the direction of the house angrily. I hung my head and started to slowly make my way to the house. With a glance at the stranger, the shade vanished.

I growled in annoyance as I opened my eyes and returned my attention to the girl with the wolf. I flew down to her quickly, rendering the shade that had chastised Ranger invisible. Just because I was one person didn't mean I couldn't keep an eye on two people.

He was deep underneath the earth, sniffing. ''mmm do I sense some chaos...mmmmm hooow delicious'' He licks his lips softly
 
i tilted my head then walked out of the


forest. Artemis said"ok that was weird..."i nodded in agreement and we saw a boy a girl and a wolf. i kept my distance and berry's cheeks sparked.
 
"H-hi. Who are you?" i jumped back when he flew down to me. "Are you a gifted? Like me?" i asked curiously, wondering if i wasnt all alone in the world
