Diving Rising - IC

James turned to look over at the map. He took a few steps closer, his brows knitting down in concentration. Egypt, Norway, Greece. "Well, I can't say I've never traveled. But I dare say I haven't been to Norway. Not yet anyway." He said aloud mostly to himself. He turned at the sound of one of the young ladies. The one that had been kind and familiar with him. He smiled then bowed."My apologies for the late introduction. I am James Elrich. Engineer, collector, and traveler. Now! If it's a means of transport we need." He said turning his smile to everyone else." I have that covered." He said announced. He was quite eager to get underway, but even more eager to get back to something familiar. Like his tech, and his bike. And his ship and crew.

Moddy shot Alex a glance before he started going after his own tail. It seemed to have a mind of its own as it swayed from one side to the other . RRRH! Why is this thing moving! What? Chasing your own tail now? The voice said as his tail changed to that of a fluffy dogs. Ahh! He yelled as he recoiled from himself. He was in the back of the group being towered over by everyone. Though he was freaking out by his own body changing, he saw little peaks of strange figures. Secretly he hoped they were not the same thing that attacked earlier. He was not in the mood for another round right now. Oh dang, its the big guy... Smell ya later kid!... Seriously.. take a freaking bath, you smell like ash and soot... The horrid voice stated bluntly with hurtful intent. The voice faded from his mind and so too did the tail vanish. It felt just as painful as did forming in the first place. Rubbing his tail bone, he looked up at the figures once again. He completely missed asking a free question but managed to make it in time to hear about traveling. His eyes widened as he started to shuffle around the statue he had perched on during the fight. Like heck i'm going anywhere.. Especially with a bunch of weirdos like them.. "divine" "strength to help" bunch of magic tricks.. Oh, hey, me again... reek. Yeah, Reek. That's your name now. Cus you smell remember? Trust me, Reek, They all are a bunch of freaks and weirdos. Not you of course. You're just going insane! You should totally mess with that map right now. Just reeeally mess it up. It'll be a laugh! .... Leave me alone. Moddy said annoyed by the voice.

Harmerti looked over at the man who had just said something that made his stomach drop. Apophis? What about Apophis? Has it regained its power? Harmerti refused to believe it. It was simply impossible. This was his thought until the glowing beings, along with the now glowing beacons on the map, had confirmed his fears. He stood there, dumbfounded and without words. His face, however, had become fairly wrinkled in worry and a hint of slight betrayal. Has Egypt lost their faith in their old gods? He then remembered his medallion. He left it their, lying on the floor, in a faithless display of rebellion against who he follows. How hypocritical of him. Perhaps he was another reason, among all those who have lost their faith in Egypt, to help Apophis rise. Losing his faith for but a mere moment. This thought had made that constant feeling Harmerti had since he dropped his medallion become slightly painful. Maybe dropping it was a mistake. He held a tight fist against his gut to help ease the moderate pain as he slowly made his way back toward his medallion. He heard some talking about travel and at this point, he would prefer to be anywhere else, but here. Hm.... That's exactly what he said when he left Egypt to 'renew' himself. With all this 'awakening' talk, perhaps he'll get his initial wish of renewing his self-image; though, perhaps not in the way he thought. Maybe he just needed to pray one more time for answers. All he needed was his medallion to do so.

Fish just sat in silence as she listened to the words of these... things talking. Gods... powers... chosen ones... hell even a prophecy. This started to look like the biggest, best organized hoax she had ever seen. She had heard this 'chosen one' bullcrap before. Hell, even she had orchestrated something similar to that to get some money from a wealthy noble family in Oslo. No way in hell she was going to partake in this lunacy, the half of the world was after anyway because of her trickery... and now these people - who apparently were speaking in themselves for some reason - were actually debating to journey around the world in search for something she could not even imagine being useful in the first place. Powers? Gods? What the hell was an 'Apophis' anyway? Nah, she was not this nuts.

" Riiight... " she said, pushing herself up, still trying to toy with her hand. It appeared that a proper repair was due, something she could not do out here, she needed to find shelter " Well... I would love to stay and chat with you lunatic people but I reckon... you have various... noble business to attend to or some stuff like that. Expensive tours around the world perhaps? "

She shrugged.

" I ain't so sure in this chosen one story of yours tho... sounds way too fishy but well... believe what you will I guess. Try to enjoy your trip I guess? "

Ophelia listened to the answers to the questions with a blank expression. Slowly, the pieces fell together, as unbelievable as they were. Inside some of them, were divine beings, apparently from the ancient civilizations whose artifacts surrounded them. These divine beings were awakening in response to a rise in the darkness. The darkness, the chaos, was rising to destroy their world and everything in it.

It was at that moment that Tobias said softly, Apophis.

An icy chill seized her spine, and in the back of her mind, the image of a serpent slithering across the sand, bleached white by the moon, played again. Ophelia felt something steel within her; the only thing she could compare it to was the way she felt when she dabbled in her father's business. But this was an entirely different situation, it was impossible and terrifying, so why did she feel so.. affirmed?

Her eyes followed the gesture to the map, and she took a few steps toward it. Norway, Greece, and Egypt. Her eyes traced the Nile River, and her heart gave an uncomfortable thump.

"This is truly the most impossible thing." It came out as a whisper, and a part of her revolted at those words, but it was like a sound on the other side of a building, too distant to be understood clearly.

For a moment, she watched the darker-skinned man, moving to pick up his medallion. The Eye. The words shot to the surface of her mind, as if propelled by an independent force.

Ophelia was closer to the medallion, and the young man moved as within a daze, so she moved forward, picking up the medallion and holding it out to him. It felt warm in her hand, but surprisingly light. "Excuse me, but.." She fumbled for words for a moment, and decided on, "This symbol, 'the eye,' what does it mean?" Her voice was soft, as she held it out to him.

@Yahaga

Harmerti was a little surprised that someone else had picked up the eye. Honestly, he didn't expect many people to care much about it, but this woman seemed to have a keen interest in it. He looked at woman with an eyebrow raised. Her question was fairly difficult to answer as the answer often varies from person to person, but there is something it always represents. "It, uh..." Something about this woman seemed familiar, yet he was sure he had never formally met her. Her soft voice was also a little comforting after such an interesting event had occurred with that beetle being, 'talk' of Apophis, and the possibility of travelling back to Egypt. "The eye is from Egypt, from its gods and goddesses. It represents, more often than not, protection. It's..." he reached over to grab the medallion by the strings. The fairly painful feeling he had finally seemed to peak at where it was, thank goodness. He stared at the dangling Eye a bit and tried to find a less generic answer than what he said, but having troubles with a good answer, "...Honestly, it's a little hard to explain. It means a lot of things, but to me it means protection and good fortune. Is that what you wanted?"

Harmerti went to grab the eye to prevent it from dangling as it were; however, the moment he touched the Eye, his vision changed. He couldn't see what he could before, the broken Expo and the victims of the fighting. There was no more Expo, no more people, but there was a very large open, green field with plenty of trees scattered and dashing beneath him. It was as if he was flying, or at least sharing the vision of something that's flying and due to this, he started to stumble around clumsily. He could see no floor beneath him, yet he could feel it under his thin shoes. He couldn't feel the wind that would be expected when moving that quickly, making his stomach flip and heart to start racing. A voice echoed in his head, "If you will not pay attention willingly, I will make you," causing him to trip up and lose balance and falling on his back. The fall made him let go of the medallion, freeing him from this sudden trance. Harmerti was breathing very heavily, very confused and afraid on what exactly just happened to him. It wasn't a voice that spoke to him like those glowing beings, per se. It was his own mind. The feeling he had also disappeared. Good. It had started making him nauseous. He looked around to try and figure out where he was again and upon seeing the woman, he looked up at her, confusion and fear clear in his eyes.

Nikolai gave the young lad an odd look when he spoke to himself, "I didn't talk to you." He did however seem glad the boy had returned to normal.

The big man observed the various reactions of the room's occupants, arms crossed and brooding quietly. The figures stayed, glowing softly above the tablets and seemed to watch as well.

"Well I will go with you master Tobias." He said firmly. "As for ze others, this is no trip for men...or women we cannot trust." He eyed Alex and Fish disdainfully. "Or children." He added.

"You have a ship?" Tobias asked, approaching James with his hat held in his hand. "Can it deal with ice? The most logical point in terms of travelling time would be Norway, I say we go North first. After that we can head south and run by Greece on our course to Egypt."

He turned to Olivia brightly. "If you come with us, do you think you could help us in dealing with the climate and navigation? I must admit, I would be completely inexperienced that far North. That's where you're from isn't it? Sweden or Finland, I can hear it in your accent I think, faint but...still there. "

@Peaceswore @Bolts @andujarprime @DawnAntalios @Baconhands

He paused for a moment, suddenly confused as to why he was so eager to do this. The words of the mysterious glowing figures had struck a deep chord with him however, he felt inclined to believe every word. Slowly he worked the information over in his head, gazing up at the map on the wall.

"Three destinations...all once ruled by civilizations long brought low..." His eyes fell to the broken tablets beneath the ethereal feet of the figures. "The divine beings...they're gods? The gods of the old civilizations? Like, Zeus, and Thor and Horus?"

The figures seemed to glow just a bit brighter as Tobias listed the names. The ancient folk had many names, those are but a few. Those meant to awaken will gain much power from travelling to the three places of the divine.

"So..they're..real?"

@everyone involved

He turned back to James:  "I can provide supplies, food, medicine and good clothing." He offered James the help without a second thought. "Anyone who wishes to come, I am sure your help would be welcome."

Nikolai grunted. Tobias ignored him.

"Its a pleasure James, my name is Tobias. Tell me, how soon can you have your ship ready to leave?"

@andujarprime

The beings began to flicker. Our time has come to an end, be swift, chosen travelers, carry your god charges through to their places of worship and gain the power needed to defeat the coming of the end times!

With that there was another blinding flash and footsteps began to echo in the hall once more as the hands of the clock started to click forward.

The officers stopped a short distance from Tobias. "What's going on?! We heard gunfire! Where's the attacker?"

Tobias looked a little at a loss. How was he going to explain this?

Olivia glanced to the back of the group, momentarily distracted by two more anomalies: that of the young boy and that of the one who said he was from Egypt. The former, in distress, seemed somewhat insane; to be fair to the boy, this didn't surprise her given all that was happening. The Egyptian - Olivia couldn't think of a better term - had fallen shortly after. She didn't want to ask; it appeared that questions begat more questions, not answers, something she desperately wanted to avoid.

Tobias had turned to Olivia, a glint in his eye: one that seemed to speak of excitement, the want to go on some sort of adventure. He inquired about navigation, the possibility of guiding him and his potential companions through the northern wastes of Norway. Olivia didn't know the routes exactly, she'd visited her cousins there only a couple of times. And yet, only a moment later, something was already mapping a route through the forests, around the lakes and through the mountains that would get them to her destination, as if she knew every trail like the back of her hand.

Tobias' voice snapped her back to reality as he made a quick mention about her accent. Olivia's eyes widened for a second in surprise, "I'm surprised you detected the accent; surprised further you know exactly where in Russia this accent is from."

She looked him in the eye as her expression relaxed back to one of neutrality. Olivia spoke slowly, "As for the navigation. Yes... yes I think I have an idea. In fact, I'm confident that I can help get us to this... temple, on the ground. And the climate... well, whatever good clothing I think you can provide won't be enough to deal with the cold, whatever time of year it is. There's an option to visit my family's winter estate in Finland before we enter Norway to get proper winter clothing and supplies so we don't freeze to death."

Taking a breath, she took a glance at all of the people in the room before she nodded, "We should have enough in the stores to last this group a good month or two."

Turning her attention back to the figures, it was Tobias that pieced together the riddled answers that the figures had posed: the divines were gods. That would explain a lot, she guessed, but this posed her her dilemma; a question was answered, but more appeared: which gods had awakened? Were there more like this group that were elsewhere? What god was attached to her?

She opened her mouth to open another question, but before the words left her lips, the figures had vanished and time had resumed. The officers, now in the room, had started asking questions.

Olivia looked over at them, placing the rifle on the ground. She approached the officers slowly, her irises practically flaring an angry emerald-green. Even she noticed her accent lax back to its Finnish origins, "The attackers might as well be before me right now for all the good this security has done us! Not one but two displays have malfunctioned, causing millions of pounds in damages and the second one had almost lethal consequences! We had to destroy the blasted machine to protect ourselves because it attacked us! All the meanwhile, you've been standing outside, twiddling your thumbs, waiting for the opportune time to come and help, when we had already destroyed the thing! Frankly, I'm outraged; I will make sure that your commissioner is aware that all of you failed to act to protect the civilians you are supposed to protect."

Olivia took a couple of steps away; this was, at first, intended to be a facade but, inevitably, her frustration had gotten to her. A lack of answers plus a near-death encounter was a major annoyance, the opportunity to create an excuse and vent a bit of that annoyance was one she had instinctively taken.

Letting the words she spoke to the "fake" nobleman sink in, Analette turned to the male voice that spoke to her. Blinking at the introduction, Analette took a step over towards the male, smiling widely as she approached. "Well, well, it seems that not only is your aim impeccable, but your manners are as well." She teasingly said towards him as he said his name was James Elrich, an engineer, collector, and traveler. "Well met, kind gentlemen. And you have our means of transportation?" Analette raised a slight brow, curious at what kind of transportation as she only traveled by feet. "How interesting." She thought out-loud as she couldn't help but think to believe a gentlemen as he would bow to someone like her. Quite interesting, indeed. But, she would never deny such greetings as she curtsied when he bowed. However, hearing the young male speak to himself, Analette looked over at him, seeing that his tail was gone, though it seemed he was talking to another entity. Perhaps there was a being inside him as well? Tilting her head slightly, Analette heard the sound of something dropping as she turned to the olive-skinned male. Scrunching her eyes together, Analette looked between the others who heard of the name Apophis as she took in their reaction. They seemed fearful of that name. But, before she could ponder upon the name that was foreign but familiar to her eyes, she heard the young woman she had been protecting earlier speak against such "nonsense". A slight laugh escaped her lips at her blunt-ness. "It would be a nice trip if you would come, you are quite entertaining, though, I would prefer if you let me do my job. Since, I am an entertainer, but perhaps, I can share the stage with you, that is, if you come. It sounds rather intriguing." Analette spoke towards her, wanting to see where these voyage would take them with the people in the room with her. She felt it would be strange for any of them to be left behind, or better yet, she wanted to know of their prophecies, including those who didn't hold any beings within them. However, seeing the noblewoman that had the spear grow closer to the olive-skinned male with the medallion. Analette listened to what the "Eye" was and his explanation. Though, for a slight second, she saw him pause in his words, as if he too, was seeing something that no one could see but one's self, like her divination.

However, hearing the bodyguard of the nobleman that had the "touch", Analette turned towards him, hearing his insults as she frowned at him. "I would not underestimate these "woman" and "children" that you speak of, sir." She spoke directly towards the man, her cold eyes staring directly at him as she shook her head. "As much as you may not trust any of us, as I have no reason as well, it seems we are all bound here by fate. These "woman" and "children" you speak of have as much reason to be here as you do." Her voice never wavered as she spoke out against the male.  However, hearing the nobleman spoke of the three divine beings Zeus, Thor, and Horus, she noticed the figures flicking about. So, they were real, it seemed. Something churned inside her body as she chanted those names in her head as she heard the nobleman speak to James and the woman that seemed to be able to navigate across the lands. But, as the figure's time has finished, time ticked again and the officers unfroze themselves. Biting her lips, Analette moved to the side, not letting the officers see her as she stood behind the "fake" noble, out of perception.

He smiled as the young woman returned his bow with a curtsy. James Turned to the young man, Tobias and nodded his head in acknowledgement. “Indeed I do.” James said proudly. “I daresay Ice would be too much of a challenge if I give the crew enough time to prepare for it.” He said thoughtfully then turned to his own thoughts momentarily. He began to think of the necessary modifications the ship would need to travel in colder weather. It wouldn’t be new to him, but he wasn’t sure how far North they were going to go. He needed to be prepared. His thoughts were interrupted once more as Tobias formally introduced himself. “James, call me James please. And yes, you are all welcome. Please, it seems we are all in this together, for better…or worse” He added as an afterthought his eyes shifting over to the rude young man. He turned away from the group as he remembered that his sister and uncle needed to be brought home as well. It was at this moment that the beings faded and time was flowing once more. He feigned an outraged look to match Olivia’s outcry. “I shall meet with you all outside. Later this evening around 7, once I have secured that my family is safe. Maybe not all of the security in this place is this horrid.” He said before shoving past two guards and making his way back to his booth in search of his sister and cousin.

Alex Wyght

Alex remained in his spot as a woman he had seen earlier came forth and spoke to him, making him raise a brow.  "Curios?  Ha, I learned to ignore my curiosity.  After all acting on pure curiosity will certainly make my life short.  Seeing as the world is going to end soon, I rather not shorten my supposedly not so lengthy life."  He stated calmly ignoring the feeling he had which did in fact make him curious about all of this.  Truly however he only saw downsides with traveling with strangers that he had only met after the impossible happened, so he wasn't even slightly inclined to go with them.  He listened to the others and kept his mouth shut rolling his eyes when the mention of trust came up and when James glanced at him.  "We?  Ha, nice to know you got some French in you.  I'm not in this you can have fun chasing stories."  He waved his hand in a dismissive fashion his eyes glancing to Analette a light smirk gracing his lips.  "I see neither of us are a fan of certain law enforcers hm?  I advise not sticking around too long, more are bound to show up~"

With that Alex moved away from the woman and toward the guards.  "Honestly?  Is this Britain's finest?  One would think her majesty would get nothing but the best, yet here you lot are gawking like fair maidens to a prince."  He shook his head and shoved by the guards lifting one of their wallets in a blink of an eye. Using the chance of the stunned guards as an opportunity.  Taking the small sack of coin he smirked at himself and without so much as a glance to the others he bolted away from the scene.  Last thing he needed was to be searched by the police, especially with all the extra items that happened to be on him.

As he ran he couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle. "Divines?  End of the world?  What utterly foolish fantasies."

Ophelia was visibly relieved when the young man answered her; she began to nod and affirm that that was what she had wanted, but his hand brushed touched the medallion and.. well, he seemed to lose his mind. He stumbled around, eventually landing on his arse. Ophelia watched with an eyebrow raised, giving a small gasp when he fell. She glanced over at the figures, and then picked up the medallion once more and offered a hand to help the dark-skinned man up from where he had fallen.

@Yahaga

"I don't think we have any choice in participating in this endeavor. Better brace yourself, sir." She said softly to him, turning back to the figures once he was on his feet with the medallion in his hand.

She caught the tail end of Tobias's tangent, and gave the man offering a ship a good long look, and then turned her eyes back to Tobias. Could she really rush off on a long trip with people she did not even know?

That unfamiliar part of her steeled itself again, and her gut tightened. I must.

She went back to listening, and her heart thumped at the name 'Horus.' Why?

Then, as soon as the interaction had begun, it ended. The police, and the outside world, unfroze. Several of the people around her lept into action, either leave or confronting the officers. What would someone like her normally do if her life was threatened in some earthly attack? Well, stand back and look distressed, of course. It also was the easiest way to avoid being asked questions that she wasn't sure how to answer.

Harmerti had wanted keep down where he is just in case he had another unusual vision; though, when all the 'normal' people had seemingly returned back to the present time, he got up very quickly. He felt a little dizzy from what he saw, but sturdy enough to continue. He took the helping hand of the woman and stood back up and thanked her. The glowing beings had started to flicker away, giving Harmerti an uneasy feeling. This beings are probably going to be the only friendly beings he will meet from now on and considering they seem to have the ability to freeze time for specific people, Harmerti was left to only imagine what was in store for him in the future. A small shiver ran up his spine as he looked over at the medallion once more, being careful not to touch anything except string on the pendant. He was curious to see if he could see what he saw again, though. Perhaps later. He looked over at the woman that had helped him and ask, "If we are going to be in this whole predicament together, I suppose introductions might be a good start. My name is Harmerti Issan. Good to meet you and thanks again for helping me up." Harmerti had pulled his collar to try to loosen it. He has never worn expensive clothing like this before and it's finally starting to bother him now, wearing them this long. He didn't expect to be here for very long, but fate had other plans apparently. He hand-combed his beard before putting his medallion in his outer coat pocket, leaving the string out for him (or whoever wants to steal it) to grab. At least the authorities have bothered moving now. Perhaps things here will get sorted out.

The police officers were completely taken aback. They came to a dead halt as Olivia proceeded to shout at them, completely at a loss for what to say. One of them mumbled a sheepish apology. Tobias tried to hide a grin. He appreciated the woman's ability to react immediately to the situation. The officers seemed to be cowed again by James' stab at them before the captain came forward.

"I'll need one of you to come to the station with me and make a report." He glanced nervously at Olivia and James. "If its not too much trouble that is."

Tobias smiled trumphantly as James offered his ship to their service. "Seven it is then, right back here. Provided this hasn't disturbed the events of the exposition that should be when the ball begins. We should all meet in the mirror hall."

With that he turned to the police officers, "I would be happy to go and give an account of the events." He said, placing his fine  felt top hat back on his head.

Nikolai raised an eyebrow at the gypsy woman. "Da, dat is what I do, I vill not underestimate their ability to betray us."

He watched Alex go. "Bah, good riddance I say." But Tobias had a sinking feeling as he watched the angry man leave. He felt that somehow they were going to need him, but Nikolai was looking at him with a worried glance.

"I vill go with you to the station."

"Nonsense Nikolai, I can manage on my own. I'm going to a police station, what could possibly happen there?"

Nikolai's tight-lipped frown told Tobias that he was imagining the worst things possible but he waved the larger man off.

Tobias made ready to leave. "Don't be late," he said brightly to all in the room as he allowed the officers to begin leading him to the exit.

Fish listened, truly baffled, at the events unfolding around them. She could not even understand what gods they were talking about, the floating figures made no sense either... she understood only that the officers wanted them to go to the station... something she had no intention to do. Turning to the gypsy girl she frowned when she was called a jokester.

" Aham... sure thing, bunny juice. If ye want to entertain these people sure thing. The primadonna girl will surely like it, so will the sandworm I reckon. "

She saw one of the guys running off. So audacious... such a showoff... she did not even say anything at first just scoffed.

" Amateur... " she said to herself, finally managing to get her hand together, staring at the noble princeling as he asked everyone to come to the station. " Yeah... ain't not going there prince charming. I think I will... take my leave from this madness. "

With that she threw down a mini smoke bomb, vanishing from sight, finally managing to sneak out.

Clutching her mechanical arm she hissed in pain as it still emitted steam, no matter how much she tried to conceal it. But at least she was free of the grasp of these lunatics. Free of this insanity that wrapped around her and drove her crazy. Free of these pesky nobles with... kind attitude... and interesting stories...

She paused. No, why would she be swayed? She did not need them, she needed nobody, she was a warrior, a wandered who ventured alone...

Then again... why did she have this longing feeling... to go back?

As one of the police men mumbled a small apology, Olivia turned her gaze onto him. It relaxed slightly; she hadn't expected that to have worked so effectively. She made a mental note of what to say and how to say it if ever a similar situation occur while they were in Scandinavia. One of the men pushed past the police, the one who had offered his ship, the one who had introduced himself as James. Mentioning that he had to see if his family was safe, Olivia soon realized that her father, in a panicked state, would be looking for her; it would also be doubtful that if he knew her intentions that he would allow it. A potential way out soon presented itself.

An officer stepped forward, presumably the most senior one, and asked for one of the group to go with him to the station, likely to give a statement. Olivia nodded and took a step forward, prepared to volunteer, but was beaten to it by Tobias. Olivia bowed her head and nodded, "The mirror hall. Seven." She repeated, doing little to mask her annoyance.

A new plan had to be thought of, Olivia mentally sighed. Her attention turned back to the rest of the people in the room, one had triggered another device causing smoke to dominate the spot where they once stood. And, as if by magic, they had vanished.

Her gaze fell to Nikolai, her accent became somewhat masked again, "I need to ask a favour, one that I believe would suit your employers's best interests and mine. My father can not know I was involved in this; it would be doubtful he would ever leave me alone without some sort of escort ever again. What I would require is to be able to... stay at a form of safe house, if that term is correct: somewhere where he would not mind finding me or won't find me at all. I think your employers's abode suits that purpose quite nicely. The benefit being that you would ensure that I would arrive on time when your employer wills it. Is this feasible for you?"

With the police seemingly dealt with, Opehlia turned her eyes back to the dark-skinned man, Harmerti. "Well met, Mister Issan." The name was as exotic as his looks, but she couldn't place its origin. He did, however, seem to know about the Egyptian gods, so perhaps that was it?

"Ophelia, Ophelia Arthur. Not thanks necessary, Im sure that.. well, that we all will be helping each other quite a bit." She trailed off a little, thoughtfully. It was like an expedition. They were to go as a team and discover something. The difference was, most expeditions started knowing what they were looking for. And all they had to go on was the words of figures not really there, and the feelings none of them really wanted to acknowledge.

She watched the others disperse for a moment, and then set her expression in determination. She would go. She just needed to think of something to tell her father.. "Well, Mister Issan, I hope to see you at 7 in the mirror hall. If you'll excuse me, arrangements must be made." The young woman gave him a nod, and then began making her way to the exit.

@Yahaga

Outside, in the crowd, she found her driver, searching frantically for her, the poor man. Within minutes, she was seated safely and headed home, working on a plan to convince her father.

Harmerti nodded back at Ophelia and watch as she made her way out. He sighed as it had been made certain to him now that they are going to travel to a few places, one being Egypt. What a surprise it would be to his family; that is, if they are even still alive. At least he could take off his borrowed clothes now. There was no way he would continue wearing those thick clothes when travelling. After these events pass, Harmerti had begun to dread the day that he would have to wear those types of clothes again. It's easier to move in traditional wear. In addition to being more comfortable, his falcon will probably recognize him better in his usual clothes. Speaking of his falcon, Harmerti wondered if he could possible sneak him on his travels. Under his clothes perhaps? No, maybe not. Bites would probably do no good. Harmerti decided to just take him as he would back handle him back at his cabin: with only a glove on his hand and hood on the bird. A cage wouldn't do, no no. Only the best accommodations for Harmerti's feathered partner in crime. And by best, this means nothing but trust and the ability to spread their arms and wings out wide.

Harmerti had snapped out of his thoughts to look around him. People had started to leave the place, and it was time for him to leave to. He had begun his way out, already preparing his nerves for the future departure. He wasn't sure how the ones that would actually show up at seven would react to a falcon, but he tried convincing himself it would be okay. He had finally made his uncomfortable way out of the building and back to his cabin.

Analette resisted the urge to laugh as James curtsied when she bowed. It was definitely supposed to be the other way around, but Analette paid no mind as she left an amused grin on her face. She was just glad to know there was at least some people that weren't so . . what's the word. .  uptight? However when the "noble" moved away, seeing the smirk on his face as he spoke of her not being a fan of enforcers, she slightly nodded, only to glare when he walked away, her only cover of drifting into the back so those so-called "guards" wouldn't see her, vanished. Hearing the young woman whom she helped, Analette looked over, shaking her head at the nicknames she gave most of the people in the room. It was truly entertaining, but once the smoke bomb came upon the young woman, only for her to disappear, Analette took this as her sign to slip away as well. However, hearing the thick Russian accent voice speak in her direction, Analette glanced over, with a raised brow. "It would seem so, since it seems your only allegiance is to the person you are next to. But, who knows, one day, that may change, as many things will during this upcoming adventure." Her voice quivered slightly as she narrowed her eyes, only to turn her back completely away from the male. Noticing her daggers, Analette quickly picked them up, and tucked them where it wouldn't be seen as she slipped into the shadows, glad that the enforcers were talking to the others and not her.

As she walked away from the scene, Analette glided across the floors quickly and steathily as possible as many thoughts ran through her head. So many questions, so little answers. She needed to know that it was real, that it wasn't a mere dream. Touching the amulet she was given from her Granny, Analette was quickly out the doors as she slipped into the crowd, hoping her family didn't notice her absence.

Nikolai seemed startled by the request Olivia had put before him, he looked desperately at the door but Tobias had already gone. He would have to make the decision himself.

"Tobias would not hesitate to invite you." Nikolai said slowly. "I suppose I can do ze same."

The gypsy woman replied to him and he listened to her with mild interest. "I can see you are very used to speaking your mind devushka." A faint smile played on his weathered face. "I respect zat. Wid respect to my loyalty...I suppose we will see."

With a stiff nod to the remaining people he escorted Olivia to the waiting carriage.

The sun had tucked itself below the smoky backdrop of the city when Nikolai had the carriage return them to the Crystal Palace. He knew enough of Tobias to pack what the boy would need for him. He had the young lord's things in a subtle black case while his own were packed in a ratty military burlap duffel. Olivia had been given access to the spare clothes that existed in the mansion and Nikolai advised her to acquire men's breeches and coats along with any dresses. Exploration, especially in the North was no place for formal London attire.

He also collected a good purse of coin as well as a few pieces of gold (a global currency) and hid the money in several places about their packs to make it difficult to steal.

Guests were already pouring into the ballroom, though the hall where their fight had broken out earlier that day was still barred and under investigation. A policeman watched them critically as Nikolai went to stand by the entrance.

"You go ahead into ze ballroom. Let me know if master Tobias is inside. I will wait out here in case he comes."

Truth be told Nikolai was slightly worried that Tobias had not been waiting for them on the steps. It was the smart thing to do, and Tobias was smart.

He bit his bottom lip as he scanned the approaching guests and the carriages beyond that, looking for any sign of him.

Alex Wyght

After Alex had left earlier he had made a beeline to his hideout where he dumped a ton of rare gems and ornaments there once again beating all the other thieves that had gone with him.  However afterwards while everyone was partying he had remained quiet in  chair and just watched rather than get invested in the party as he normally would.  The events of the day were bothering him far too much to let him enjoy himself.   even if he wanted to forget today's madness he couldn't, as everytime he looked down he saw his shadow was still different from average.  This fact soon annoyed him to the point that he rather suddenly stormed out of the party much to many of his followers surprise.  Ending up in a tunnel by himself he let out a loud annoyed sigh.  "Its only a matter of time before people notice you! So stop acting up and look normal!"  He shouted as he looked at his shadow that was produced thanks to a sole torch light in the tunnel.  It was then his shadow changed even more, not only did it seem like whisps were coming from his body but the eyes and mouth became visible on the shadow, something that really shouldn't' happen.   Alex was taken back by this but said nothing for a moment as he looked at the simple eyes and mouth that was titled in a frown.   "You are doing this on purpose aren't you?  Can't you speak in my head again? "  The figure smirked a bit before frowning once more which ended up making Alex sigh.    "You want me to do this damn quest don't you! Go with those dumbasses on something that sounds stupid beyond belief! Why!?  The world is going to end so?   Why should I care!?  What has the world done for me in this life that would make me even want to consider helping it!?"   Again no response but the figure frown turned into a smirk and then a mischievous smile while its eyes narrowed.   ".........................................This is beyond idiotic!"

With that Alex had ran out of the tunnel and back to the party where he grabbed his hatchet from the table and placed it on his belt.  "Sophia! You are in charge till I get back!"  He ordered while adjusting his clothing and fixing his vest.  He grabbed an over the shoulder bag and was about to run off but was stopped when someone called out for him.  "Hold on! Alex where are you going!?"   At this he let out a sigh and scratched the back of his head.  "I think Greece?"   "WHAT?!"   Smirking Alex shrugged before waving them off.  "Curiosity got me again... Later!"  Before anyone could stop him he was gone like the wind and many were too stunned at the suddenness  to even bother to stop him.

By the time 7 had rolled around Alex was already at the meeting area having once again slipped in without causing a commotion.  He kept his eyes out for any of the other people that were suppose to be here for the bug quest.  "This is stupid beyond belief." He mumbled under his breath as he took a diamond bracelet from one of the ladies there... What?  He's still a thief surrounded by the rich, he was going to steal.  'If no one else shows in ten minutes I'll leave......whether that...thing likes it or not'

@Anyone he's open

Tobias' abode had been what she had expected it to be, though the time they had spent there had felt remarkably short: she was thankful for that. The bear of a man that had allowed her to use the dwelling had encouraged her to collect men's breeches, coats as well as dresses. This was all well and good for exploring Britain in the winter but Olivia had her doubts that, if they were going to be spending a long time in Scandinavia, away from civilization, that they would be enough to keep the cold off their chests consistently for months on end. Thus, the godling packed some of the clothing Nikolai had suggested, as well as a change of clothes for herself that was significantly less eye-catching than what she currently war, into a fairly small bag, mentioning to him that she was sure they would find much more appropriate attire in the southern regions of Sweden, Denmark or Finland. She emphasized the last option.

Seven o'clock. That's what the clock said. And once more, Olivia found herself outside of the Crystal Palace. Already, she found herself with a strong sense of deja vu: large crowds, members of the aristocracy and security outside of the building once again. Rolling her eyes, Olivia followed the crowd to the entrance of the ballroom, where Nikolai explained he would be waiting for master Tobias. She nodded slowly, noticing his worry, before she turned and entered into the ballroom.

Olivia started scanning the sea of face, looking for a familiar one. She couldn't find Tobias, much to her dismay, and now realized that she was alone in familiarly unfamiliar territory. Several people glanced her way as she walked around, though they tried to do so subtly. Her hawkish eyes noticed them, despite their attempts at subtlety. Olivia continued to wander, her eyes still on the lookout. And that's when she noticed one familiar face, taking a particularly shiny object from one of the women. She approached him after a moment.

"Are you enjoying yourself?" She stood to his left, back straight, hands clasped gently in front of her, emerald eyes piercing into him. She tilted her head slightly, some of her auburn hair fell slightly over her shoulders: she realized then that it wasn't tied up but she didn't let that bother her; formalities weren't always meant to be observed.

"I don't think we managed to properly introduce ourselves earlier, did we? I think, perhaps, if we're to undergo such a venture as we agreed to it would be important that we did." Olivia chose her words carefully as she spoke. She curtsied slightly, "Olivia. You may call me Olivia; not Livi, not Liv, Olivia."

Harmerti had a difficult time trying to convince the now improved security that his falcon isn't going to hurt anyone. That and the added fact that he was now wearing his traditional clothing of an Egyptian white hood and robe. His current appearance wasn't exactly convincing any Londoners that he is a safe visitor. Eyes were constantly on him, although he expected this. One of the reasons he didn't socialize here much. Intelligently, he brought proof of his previous visit to the Expo and explained his reason for returning. The guard, under what he believed was his better judgement, had finally conceded, allowing Harmerti access again under a few conditions: Harmerti would stay at the Expo for only the amount necessary and keep his falcon outside in a safe place. Harmerti agreed and thanked the guard for access, chuckling under his breath as the guard cautiously eyed the hooded bird. Harmerti had walked a small distance away from the entrance of the Expo and tied the jesses of his falcon to a sturdy branch away from the main flow of people to keep it from being spooked and flying away. As he started to make his way back into the entrance, he noticed a familiar burly man seemingly waiting for something or someone. Strange, if Harmerti remembered correctly, this man had never this other man's side. Harmerti hadn't really ever talked to either of them and assumed both were a group, but this situation seemed a little odd. Is this why he was here still? Where's the other man?

Harmerti had decided to approach this intimidating man to find the answer. As he started his approach toward the man, Harmerti realized that he was still wearing his leather glove meant for his falcon to perch on. Considering it was rather large compared to a normal leather glove, he became a little self-conscious. It was too late to go back, however. Surely the man had seen him approach. As Harmerti had come into conversation range, it finally dawned on him how unnecessary his question really is. It wasn't his business to ask the questions he wanted, but considering he had already finished his approach, he quickly decided maybe a little introduction would be less invasive, "Hello, friend. You seem to be alone. My name is Harmerti Issan. I believe I saw you with us and the chaos earlier, no?" His voice was a little nervous as he asked it. A little lack of confidence added with the fact that the man could probably punch a hole directly through his face always seemed to make things difficult when try to start a conversation. This added to the fact that he was wearing a traditional hood and robe made Harmerti want to slap himself in the face.

Moddy slipped out after all this talk about traveling and such. The voice in his head seemed to vanish as he made his way back to his alley home. There waiting for him were a few other children of various. To were rubbing bruises as they were the kids to accompany him to the palace and take the guards away from the entrance.  Ey, Moddy! Wat you nab from them rich folk? One said with a smirk. Yeah! It better have been worth it. The other piped up. Moddy gave them both a look as he walked past them and went to his little hut area he made. Yeesh, these kids look even worse than I did chained up for centuries... But I guess they look better than your face. The voice chimed again in an invasive manner. Moddy remained silent as the few kids were starting to gather near him. Er... Moddy? Everything alright? One kid came up placing a hand on his shoulder. He tensed up for a moment. He wasn't too sure why he was freaking out right now. He had no reason to. He just watched some people fight a crazy creature thing and then get a tail stuck on him for a minute. Hey Earthworm, you gotta say something to your oh so loving friends. Loki said in a sarcastic tone. What? Cat got your tongue? On Moddy's face, he could feel whiskers starting to come from his cheeks. Moddy sighed, plucking the forming hairs. Alright everyone! Listen up. I'm not saying it again. Get your fingers out of your noses and open your ears. He said, trying to fake his confidence. It seems like big brother Alex thought he could pull a fast one on us today. He got word of some big treasure and thought he could keep it all to himself. He even got some treasure already. I saw him do strange things that wouldn't come from anything but sweet loot. So.. I'm gonna nab it from him. Every single thing...  He clutched his chimney sweep broom. That also means I'm going to head out for a while. Gotta go do some traveling around the world you know? The kids were pretty shocked to hear that. They never dreamed of going anywhere away from this city. Don't go being a bunch of cry babies! What do you think  I pay you for? He mocked. I'll be back some day but I gotta catch my ride. He said as he ran out of the alley. Don't forget the rich are suckers and losers!

It was starting to get dark. The voice in his head made strange sounds before it dissipated. Truth be told, he was only considering this traveling thing because he wanted to get rid of this force. It was freaking him out a little too much. He hid his broom fairly close to the palace just in case something crazy happened again. Would have mopped the floor with any of em.. He thought to himself as he slipped back into the palace. He didn't really tell anyone he was tagging along. He was pretty sure no one even thought the kid was going to travel with them all. It would be easier if he just stowed away in whatever they were traveling in. He found the idea of popping out at some random time funny. It would show some of these wealthier looking bunch that threats could hide anywhere. That and the fact he could pull some ghost like pranks on them. He remained in the crowed though he found the meeting spot where others were. He hid himself in plain sight while he watched and waited for them to move along. The only one who might pick him out was Alex as he had seen his face plenty of times before.

Nikolai continued his watch until Harameti approached. He gave the young man a nod. "Good to see you came back. I was not sure how many would come. Zis is very strange affair." His accent rolled thickly off his tongue and he scanned the scene one more time for a police carriage or Tobias' face in the droves of people flocking to the ballroom.

"Yes, I am bodyguard to Tobias Fairfax. Last surviving member of Fairfax family." He sighed heavily. "Sometimes job is easy, sometimes not, but is never boring I can assure you zis."

He went back to frowning at the landscape. "Is not like him to be late. I am starting to worry zat something happened."

Tobias awoke in a prison cell. His ribs hurt and his coat had been torn and soiled. What had happened? He remembered getting into the police carriage then...His memories slowly filtered back through the fog of his mind as he struggled to regain full consciousness. His head was pounding. Had he been struck?

He touched his forehead tenderly and found a sizable goose egg nestled in his dark hair. This wasn't good.

"Hello? Hello! Let me out!" The hallway was dark, but down the corridor gold light slipped under a closed door. "I would reconsider treating a Fairfax so poorly if I were you!"

His shouts were met with silence, though lowered voices on the other side of the door told him there were people in range to hear them.

The conclusion? They wanted him in here. Slowly his mind reflected on the happenings of that morning, most of it seemed like just a dream he had had while unconscious, but police didn't lock people up without provocation or reason...had whatever it was that had attacked them...had it somehow gotten control of the force?

His heart began to race. He had to get out, but the bars were solid, and even if he got out of the cell, whoever had put him in had likely left guards of some sort. He was stuck. he thrust his hands into the pockets of his ruined coat and something brushed against one of them. He drew it out tentatively and found it to be the pen he had picked up that morning after the fight. It was a miracle he hadn't lost it...
