Diving Rising - IC

When the fight had broken out, Evelyn just kept in hiding. She wasn't looking to be a participant, fearing that it will disgrace her noble family. All Evelyn thought of in that moment was how she could cause trouble for her family, from causing them to be stripped of their nobility to shaming her Father, whom she loved dearly. Not long after, she was approached by another woman who suggested that they leave before they get caught in the crossfire of the current ordeal that was taking place. Despite not knowing her, Evelyn just followed her. When she heard glass shatter, Evelyn just stayed quiet. She wasn't exactly armed either, so not like she protect herself or anything and she can only do so much unarmed, especially with the way she was dressed.

However, when asked if she had any ideas on what they should do, Evelyn shook her head, but agreed when she said that the guards or police would take too long to arrive. "No, they like to take their sweet time. I can look after myself anyway. Not sure who thought it would be a good idea to cause a riot and break things. But I don't have any ideas on what we should do. All I can think of is going back to my lovely home for a cup of tea and...maybe a change of clothes. This dress is starting to squeeze me." she replied, having no interest in fighting or getting into a scuffle with anyone. "Oh and my name's Evelyn. What's your name?" She asked, also introducing herself.

One thing that Evelyn was used to was keeping to herself and not having a lot of lady-like friends, so this girl would be among the first in a while. Evelyn was also considered too boyish, not to mention her mother was trying to completely feminize her. "So...What was your idea...Or ideas?"

Harmerti had reached about a quarter fo the way toward the other group, a stupid grin on his face thinking he had successfully had somewhat of a normal conversation without screwing it up too much. He turned around after a few moments to see if the others were following him. To his surprise, there was yet another person, though this time speaking to Alex. This other person was a little young to have a comfortable conversation with, but Alex seemed to figure out a way. Once they both started following him, Harmerti returned to his walk toward the other group. He was fiddling with his medallion, the one that had seemed to receive some interest previously. He thought about taking it off before he got to the expo, but was glad he decided not to. It is his good luck charm, by the way.

After a bit of commotion had suddenly started to happen behind him, Harmerti turned around to see what's all the ruckus. A few people that seemed dressed for their profession had decided to do their job. Unfortunately, this means this carefully decorated set of five people, fit with their shining daggers, are set to harm whoever they set their targets on. When the group of suspicious looking individuals had suddenly split, three toward him, Alex, the young boy, and maybe the woman he had apparently stepped on earlier. As he continued specating the people charging his group and the other group, he realized these people weren't meant to just frighten them like similar people in Egypt do, a scare tactic. These people seemed to want blood. This became especially apparent when one of the people went directly to the young boy. A boy with no chance of defending himself, so Harmerti thought at least. Thanks to being a little farther away, he had a little more time to react to his coming assailant, though still not much. The masked person reared his fist in a quick attempt to subdue Harmerti. Clumsy decision doing that as far away as he had. By the time the person had reached Harmerti, he had ducked and thrown his own fist toward the open gut of the person. The fist landed, but oddly enough the man wasn't hunched over in pain. This threw Harmerti off, leaving him open for the person next attack.

The assailant had lunged toward Harmerti, knocking both of them down with the masked person on top. The person quickly grabbed his dagger and ready it for a final blow. Something about this little sequence of events remind Harmerti of his incident with his uncle many years back. Both had daggers ready to impale him, both held him hostage. So how did he escape the last time? Right, he ran for his life. Unfortunately, running doesn't exactly seem like an option in a relatively open building like this. The person would just run and catch him again. Harmerti had only one choice: to fight. He had to fight animals he missed with his bow before, but those were smaller. This person is game on uneven ground, and it was standing on the top. There was only one thing to do.

The person had lifted himself slightly to gain a little bit more power in its thrust and Harmerti took advantage of that. He threw the fastest punch he could at the person's groin, hoping his assailant was a man. Luckily for Harmerti, it was. The man fell over in pain, allowing Harmerti a chance to stand back up. His predator was down for now, though, he will soon get back up very angry. For now, however, he had a chance to help the other two He looked over at Alex and the unknown boy to see their situation. They seemed to be holding off... oh what is he thinking. It's practically a two versus one. What can the young boy do? Harmerti had ran back over to possibly help them, hoping his attacker wasn't going to get up very soon.

It was nice that Alex was going to play along. Moddy had him in a bit of a social hard spot. It would look terrible to his target should he shush Moddy away, and that is just how he liked it. He would take the left overs of the targets Alex had done since there were always small bits of coin and trinkets. He might even score a bit one himself! "Ey, I'm only small because I haven't grown much yet! Just you wait and see." He said childish and playful. He looked over to the man, Harmerti. He wasn't sure what was up with the guy since he seemed slightly confused at why Moddy was talking to his "brother". Considering he was at the Expo and having a conversation with Alex only meant there was something to steal right? It wasn't really Alex's nature to have a regular conversation. At least what Moddy had seen during his time with the guy. They seemed to be heading to another group at the time that Moddy had walked up. Though it threw off the initial movement, it wasn't anything that couldn't be fixed with a bit of talk. It seemed that is exactally what Alex had in mind.

Moddy was minding his own business as he scanned possible targets that Alex would have no time for. Even some rich people weren't worth the effort for Moddy. They just had too much of a snootiness that repulsed him. He would rather slingshot them rather than steal. It left more of a mark in his opinion. He did however raise is head to Alex at his words getting cut suddenly. He watched as his "brother" made a strange pose before fighting a man. Another attack going for the guys gut that he managed to dodge. Moddy was taken back by the sudden act of violence. It wasn't that he wasn't used to it, it was just very unexpected in this environment. He hardly noticed his own attacker making his way up. Harmerti had fallen to his back as he too was getting attacked. Moddy cocked his head watching the even take place. Would some, probably, rich guy meet his maker so soon? More money for him if it was. To Moddy's slight disappointment, the guy was fine as he stood up. I guess that is one way to fell someone.. He murmured to himself. He turned back to the man which brandished a knife. You'll have to be a cut above the rest to hit me, sir. He said with confidence as he reached into his socks. He pulled out a slingshot and felt around in his pocket for rocks. The man came down to slash at the boy but the reach needed gave him more than enough time to slip in between the man's legs. As Moddy passed the legs, he placed a rock into the slingshot and looked back at the man. Letting the rock go, it hit the back of the mans head, causing it to bleed. HA! Like shooting dead fish in a barrel. He giggled. The man swung around trying to land a hit on the kid. After getting beat by guards often, he knew how to dodge very well. Each swipe after another didn't land on the kid. He was just too quick. Yeesh, someone isn't too good at their job. Can't even hit a kid with lung problems. He stuck his tongue out at the man. You must have learned your knife work at a sweat shop with that form! Openly mocking the mans fighting ability. Another rock came at the man from Moddy's slingshot, this time grazing the forehead and leaving a nice cut. A few more of those and we will be heading in the right direction. He said giggling once again.

After the display, he took a moment to look to Alex and Harmerti. The guy is trying to get back up... He said with a dead pan look to Harmerti as he released another rock to his own attacker. He gazed to Alex now. I know right? They really can't do much. They are even worse than guards on their off days! He smiled gleefully before turning his attention to the attacker again.

Although surprised to see the noble woman actually following and listening to her, Analette never made any facial expressions that could possibly show such feelings. Stopping in her tracks, Analatte turned around to take a better look at the woman, staring at her hands the most. A light laugh escaped her lips as Analette shook her head, "How noblewomen, such as yourself, wear such attires is beyond me. Tobias sighed, it seemed the young common girl wouldn't be listening to him any time soon. He had assumed this would happen one day, assassins would be sent after him from a rival house but to his utter amazement they seemed equally determined to strike at Olivia and the young commoner girl as well. Nikolai reacted much faster than he did and took a wide swipe at one of the men, catching him about the chest and wrenching him off course. The other ducked under Nikolai's guard and turned his knife on the others. Tobias already had his cane in his hand and parried a knife strike meant for Olivia. Tobias followed through by ramming his shoulder into the attacker but his weight was lacking and all he managed to do was force the villain a single step back.

"I demand you stand down!" He yelled in his most commanding voice. The man glared at him through the slit between scarf and hat and in a moment of shock he found the man's eyes flash red.

While Tobias had the attention of one he left his flank exposed. Nikolai had the other in a deadly bear hug. In the distance someone called for the constables.

Tobias was vaguely aware of the arrival of two more figures, the man made quite an entrance, his clockwork inventions felling a man as he leapt overhead. Tobias couldn't help but grin. A lovely gypsy woman was seeing to one of the frightened guests

As if given a signal all the attackers jumped back. The ones that had been felled rose, if somewhat shakily to their feet to collect between the two groups of people they had just attacked. Several jumped sideways and worked to shepherd the frightened people out of the room, while at the same time keeping their prey cut off from escape.

Tobias parried another jabbing blow, being forced towards the second group of people being hounded by the other masked men. When they backed off again he frowned and just as he was about to move..he found he could not. The ground rippled under his feet and small spikes jutted up from the floor, coming from the stone tiles themselves to latch about his boots. he looked about and found the same spell trying to entrap the others. Nikolai gave an angry shout as he nearly toppled.

Through them and everything a voice thrummed.

Now godlings...show me your power!

Tobias had no idea what it meant, the voice seemed to be coming from inside his head! He looked at the others trapped beside him, hoping to find some sort of answers in their faces. Most of the hall was empty now, the only few left far away with their back turned as they escaped. Suddenly the figures shimmered and combined into one, solid man, clad in black with glowing red eyes. He unfolded his arms...and then to Tobias' utter amazement a second set, each hand clasping a glittering obsidian dagger. The figure's voice was like the scuttling of a thousand insects.

"Who wishes to die first?"

Olivia instinctively took a step back, still trying to look for some kind of weapon she could defend herself with. She felt her entire body tense, and then she glanced to her left; Tobias had deflected an attack meant for her. The step had moved her out of the attacker's range, almost perfectly judging the spacing needed to avoid the assassin's attack; regardless, her body had still anticipated something to connect. It was to Olivia's relief that Tobias had blocked it, however. Her attention turned towards the assassin, and, much to her surprise, she noticed their eyes flash red; Olivia was bewildered, was this some kind of new invention?

Feeling somewhat helpless, she took a step back from Tobias; there was very little she could do. Her retreat was stopped by something ensnaring her feet in place.

A voice seemed to bellow into her mind, but Olivia was left more confused than scared: what had he meant by godlings? Olivia barely had a chance to collect herself before the assassins disappeared and formed one figure, clad in black but still with glowing red eyes. Olivia was still half expecting some inventor to reveal that it was all just a demonstration of his new invention, for the entire convention hall to refill with people. As time carried on, Olivia realized this was becoming less and less likely.

The figure's voice was grating, as if millions of bugs were crawling through her head and somehow, defying all convention, forming cohesive words. She was practically terrified.

Alex Wyght

Today has started out so well, it really did!  But now it had taken a huge turn for the worst. Just when he thought he hit the jackpot these bastards just had to attack!  He was holding his own against the one that attacked him.  He had not only the other's incompetence, but his own skill to thank for that.  He may be a thief (a damn good one at that) but a thief without any skill to fight is just asking to die the moment he/she is caught.  He may not care much about any life, but he still saw that learning how to fight, at least how to brawl.  Would help him in many ways, besides it was always entertaining to beat the ever living snot out of some idiot who thought it would be a cake walk to beat him.  As he defended himself against an incoming blow from his pathetic excuse of an attacker, both he and Alex were met with a surprise.  Out of no where an attack had been launched which covered his attacker in...oil?  This surprise made Alex take a step back and move to the side thinking an attacker was coming from behind him...one with shoddy aim.

However when he saw that there was no one other than a man standing there, one that wasn't running or being attack he shot the guy a glare.  He wasn't grateful for the help that he may have received (for in his eyes he had it under control since he wasn't losing any ground).   "Next time you ass! Don't interfere with the person that is already winning! Go trouble someone else!"  He spat in a rude tone before his attention turned back to the fighter who had gotten the oil out of his eyes and was ready to go at him again, however rather than doing so the man moved back with the others leaving Alex very confused however he didn't put his guard down.   As he watched he had to debate in his head his next move, which was honestly to get out of here.  With all the panic that was arising he could only imagine how easy it would be to steal from every person that was trying to leave.  Oh...and he didn't care for fighting which is another reason why he wanted to get out of here.  But as Lady Luck would have it, all his escape paths were cut off.   Hell! He attempted to head for one of the windows but before he could get to them one of the figures attacked him and pushed him back with the others.  Even when he tried to fight back harder to get away he still was forced to back away from the attacker, if he didn't he would risk being decapitated. Which it once came close to as he tried to just run right by but his attacker speed seemed to be faster than he had originally thought.  If it wasn't for his great reaction time he may have been partially decapitated rather than just walk away with a nick on his neck.

Once he was closer to the group he was very tempted to grab someone close by him and just through them into the fray as a distraction so he could make his escape.  Alas before he could find someone suitable to be his meat shield the floor altered.  When he saw the spikes suddenly emerge from the ground he stepped back in an attempt to avoid them however like many others he was ultimately caught in them as well.  "What in the hell?????"  Struggling to get out of whatever this was he tugged at it but to no avail.   Before he could do anything he heard a voice which made him look around in search of the source of it.  "Godling?  Ha... I'm nothing so low."  He muttered to himself unable to find the source of the voice he gritted his teeth in a bit of anger.  'Who is playing with us?  Why....Why did it sound like that voice was coming from my own head??? I didn't even drink anything last night!'

His thoughts came to a halt as he gawked at what happened before him in complete shock.  All their attackers....became one being?   "...Wh..What...WHAT KIND OF GYPSY FUCKERY IS THIS!?!?"  He hollered, averagely a calm person these events were really agitating him.  All he wanted to do was rob people blind!  That's it!  He didn't sign up for any of this crap and he didn't want to get involved with it either! All he wanted was to rob that royal and the Fairfax boy before calling it a day!   When the thing asked his question Alex's gritted his teeth so hard they threatened to crack.   This wasn't right, no matter how he looked at it.  All of it felt real, he wasn't drugged right?  He couldn't make sense of it.  And he didn't want to! Taking his steel pipe he slammed it into the rock that surrounded his foot in an attempt to break free, it cracked.... But barely, it would take far more force than that to break the hold the earth had on him.  HIs eyes going back to the otherworldly being.  "I don't give two shits about who kicks the bucket here!  I'm not apart of this group or whatever idiotic beef you have with them! So how about you just go ahead and release me!  I got things to do and being messed with some sort of witchcraft or gypsy trick isn't on my list of to do things today!"  Alex shouted.  Sure not the best idea to talk like that when he was in this situation, but really when he didn't understand something (and he didn't understand this) rather than make nice with it.... He rather just let out his anger.  Really he didn't see how he did anything to whatever that thing was, if he was pissed with the group that was around him then that was their problem, and sure as hell not his!

@andujarprime @SilverFlight  @Everyonelse

" Oy! Stop moving so fast you vermin! " Fish exclaimed, trying to flail around with the ancient spear as the assassins were jumping left and right with deadly precision. It was as if they knew where the girl were to strike and did not allow her any solid gorund. They seemed to be just way too fast for her and mostly to the others but she still tried to do her best and fight. Interestingly enough her weapon almost refused to obey her, turning away from the opponents... which Fish could only explain with her own lack of precision.

" Well this is getting on my nerves for sure... " she grunted as every foe of theirs disappeared.

The spikes made quite a nice spectacle as the seemingly generic bad guy appeared. She had seen many of these guys before... except for the red eye, that was new for sure. Only after she realized that those spikes actually trap them did Fish begin to be aggrevated. This guy was already going on her nerves.

" Godlings? " she laughed " Look, another priest came to spread beliefs? Wrong place, buddy, these people are here to inspect trash not to listen to babbling! Look at these fine people - especially that fashion-show lady over there!" she pointed at Olivia directly " Ain't no noble has time for scoundrels like you - the market is already crowded enough without you ruining our chances! Get lost! "

Her grip on the spear tightened as the man was staring at Tobias and the others. Instinctively she stepped forward, almost as if she wanted to defend the little group. It was a strange thing for sure but it just felt the right thing for the moment. But when the man spoke up with a confident voice she grinned, spitting on the ground.

" Die? I guess it will be you, pops! " she said, gripping the old spear in her hands " Like my weapon? I can come over for a closer inspection, just for you! Just let me hack your damned spikes to splinters first then I show you not to meddle with business you have nothing to do with!"

With that she recklessly yelled, rushing towards the spikes without second thoughts... or regrets. She clashed once, she clashed twice, her spear letting out am ournful cracking sound but the girl did not relent. She would chew her way out of this pit one way or anouther.

The figure's head twitched, its eyes fell on the young girl dashing forward to confront him once she had freed herself from the brittle spikes that had ensnared the feet of his quarry. She ran openly at him and he turned one of the sharp daggers on her. Tobias saw what was coming and dashed his cane against the trap holding him. The tines broke free and he dashed after her just in time to catch a blow coming from one of the creature's other hands. He was lifted off his feet by the blow, landing in a heap a few feet away, his arm throbbing where he had been struck. The creature moved with an inhuman speed and its strength was unimaginable.

Nikolai saw Tobias fall and broke free too, rushing to his side. "This thing...is not natural..." he rumbled. "Everyone be careful!"

@everone_else

The figure heard Alex's crude shouts and turned on him. "I shall kill the loud one first." it announced casually, and before anyone could register the movement the creature was upon the young street lad, dagger swinging wide for a vicious slash across his midriff.

James stood back in his place, he nodded and winked at the woman addressing him. “Let me see” He responded to her question as he looked about the room. Choosing to ignore the young man’s reaction. He spotted velvet ropes blocking some of the other exhibits, and he turned around to see if there was anything more. Objects in the room began to pop out at him. Seeing them through his inventor’s mind, his brain almost immediately began to draw up schematics for a way to trap the assailants. Unfortunately, this didn’t last long as the ground began to tremble, breaking his concentration completely. He turned with a gasp seeing spikes shoot up out of the ground and ensnaring his feet. “What in the world is this??!” He exclaimed trying to yank his feet free, to no avail. He looked up to see if this was just happening to him, in his own mind. Or it was something else entirely. A bittersweet feeling struck him as he saw the others entangled as well. Glad that he wasn’t delusional in his exhaustion from all of the travelling and working he’d been doing recently. He didn’t want to make a fool of himself. But still upset, and quite confused by their current circumstances. With a grunt he rapped the gold tip of his cane sharply against the tangles. They cracked at first, then with a few more sharp raps they broke completely. The voice in his head was a dull thrum as his mind tried to figure what was around his feet. But as soon as that issue was taken care of and his mind calmed down. The voice was loud and clear, he winced bringing his hand to his head. He took a step forward and stumbled, dropping to one knee. Looking up in time to see the group of assailants gather up and turn into one. “I can’t be the only one seeing this right?!” He asked aloud to no one in particular. The voice in his head was so loud he could barely make out what was being said. “Godlings? What godlings?” He asked confused as he pushed himself up with his cane. His pulse racing, his eyes shifting to find a source for the voice. The only logical thing he could think was the most illogical thing in the room. That giant four armed creature was real. It was real, and a threat to him, and everyone else in the room. Most specifically the young man that had a dagger coming in at him. The boy seemed to be too close to dodge the blow. “Sorry!” He exclaimed and with a short breath he switched his cane to his prosthetic hand, and with mechanically enhanced strength let it fly, it spun sideways at an incredible speed colliding with the boy’s legs in an attempt to knock him down and out of the daggers path.

Olivia turned her head to her right as the figure's attention was diverted by the rest of the group. She could see something, finally, about fifty metres away from her: an experimental bolt-action rifle. Her father had tried to show it to her earlier, try to explain its advantages thought she had shown little interest in it. Regardless of her lack of experience and lack of willingness to wield it, she needed to be able to protect herself with something: this would be a better alternative than nothing at all.

After a few moments of struggling, Olivia wrenched her legs free from the vines and she moved as quickly as she could towards the rifle. Ten seconds passed, she cursed the formal clothing she was wearing, before the rifle was in her hands. It felt surprisingly balanced in her hands, light in a sense. Bullets rested on the other side of the exhibit; she strained after them for a few seconds before she regained her balance, four of them in her hands. As if she had done it before, she loaded the rifle expertly and raised it, aiming down the iron circle of a sight. Olivia let instinct take over. The entire world seemed to slow down; her heartbeat thumped in her head and drowned out the rest of the world. She let out a breath. And pulled the trigger.

The bullet flew forwards, slowly and as it traveled, Olivia could see the bullet was emitting a greenish aura, and root like patterns seemed to be etched across the bullet's surface. It connected with the figure's eye, and oddly, Olivia found herself smiling, "Looks like it's time for a hunt."

Surprisingly enough, during the first bit of fighting the boy had actually held his ground. Good for him. Unfortunately, as if the whole pile of just simply wonderful things Harmerti had been experiencing in this Expo couldn't get any better, Harmerti realized that both his group and the group he was walking toward had been encircled by the people, all of which proved threatening to their lives. Harmerti had some thoughts of his family back home and of his murdered father, the reason he left. At least he would be killed by what looked like professionals not some street wannabe assassin...or his uncle. Maybe he doesn't have to die today? He tried moving around, only to realize that he couldn't, like something was grabbing his feet. He looked down and noticed something a little terrifying grabbing his feet. Some spikes coming from the floor. What? Spike? How are they coming from the ground?

A voice boomed through Harmerti's head, causing him to try to plug his ears, only to realize that voice was in his head. "Godlings?" he asked himself quietly. Harmerti looked over at all the assassins, only to see them morph into one. This caused a chill to run up Harmerti's spine, forcing him to visibly shake. What is this person? Is this another bit of steam technology out to harm people, like that one train? You just can't trust these new spangled gadgets and gizmos. He didn't seem fake, though. Nothing about him said he was a machine or artifical. In fact, the feeling in his gut was telling him this person was probably not a person. This can't be true, though. Every person has to be a... person right? The four arms were definitely convincing for the being not a person thing, though. He took off his wadjet medallion and held it tightly in his hands, praying in his mind to anybody who would listen, hoping for some form of protection.

When Harmerti heard Alex start screaming profanities at the mysteriously mysterious, all Harmerti could do was shake his head. Not much to his surprise, the man had picked out Alex among the group to "die" first. Something was wrong about this, though. The person said it wanted to see the groups power, yet claims it wishes to kill them. This is a bluff, perhaps? Among other things, there happened to be a loud pop and echo when someone close by had seemed to fire off a rifle. This pop stopped his train of thought and thus stopped him from possibly volunteering to "die" to keep Alex back and maybe safe another day. One of his previous thoughts crept back up into his mind. Something about this entire situation just screams 'bluff.' What were its intentions? Motives? It doesn't want their money, clearly, but their power? What power?

As Moddy antagonized the attacker, he couldn't help but notice they were getting rounded up. He supposed the assassins weren't that dumb after all. It did make it harder to dodge knowing he would bump into someone and end up getting hit because of someones dumb placement. I guess this is your way of putting me in my place? He said to man as a knife swished passed him. Whoa Whoa i'm all for sticking it to the man but i'm a boy! He said with a slightly higher pitch. With the last dodge, he found himself rounded up with the others yet he fell down as he knocked into someones legs. He made an 'Oof' sound as he landed. Propping himself up on his elbows, he looked up to see the assassins colliding together to make a single person as a voice came into his head. Moddy gave a skeptical look at the figure at the mention of "godlings" and "power". Oh thank you. I was wondering when someone lesser than me would acknowledge how great I am. He started to move to get up but was stopped once he noticed both his arms and feet were stuck to the ground. O-oh... Well I would show you more of my gifts if I weren't wrapped up in something else. He said chuckling at his own jokes.

He tried wiggling around to free himself but being pinned to the ground this way made it hard to use strength. He was a slightly malnourished kid though so breaking these ties wasn't as easy of a feat as the older people were doing. Rolling his eyes at Alex's outburst to the man, he managed to slip an arm out of its holding. Geez Alex, that sure was intimi- His words were cut as he saw the man blink out of existence for a moment and right in front of Alex. Not even Moddy was that fast. Luckily a contraption had seemed to throw the whole attack off as Alex was hit out of the way. Well geez, looks like even you need a hand from time to time. He said with slight nervous laughter. He finally managed to get his other arm and legs free from the bindings. Oh, would you look at what I here. He said reaching into his pocket. Quickly he threw soot at the figures face. Magic dust for an oh so magic man! He said trying to scamper away while he believed the man to be blinded now.

When the other woman commented on her clothing, Evelyn did find it to be insulting, but it wasn't hurtful and she wasn't like any of those stuck up nobles who think they're above everyone else because of their wealth and upbringing. "You get used to it after a while..." Evelyn, while she did not voice it, she was willing to admit that she was bored. Not like this woman knew her, so it was insulting when she assumed that the noblewoman was bored and fights did not suit her taste. Little did she know, Evelyn's Father was a Warrior and had taught her to become one, but she wanted to keep it a secret in fear that it may jeopardize her family somehow, more importantly being stripped of their nobility. When asked if she was willing to get her hands dirty, she wasn't sure how to answer. "Well, there is a reason why I want to get a change of clothes...You are right about it being lavish and poofy. It does get...Uncomfortable. So I do want to find something more...what's the word...Breathable." She replied. When the bangles on the woman's ankles and wrist started jingling, Evelyn just had that usual blank face. She never saw the point in jewelry, except for a wedding band.

"Well, I do have one other reason to go back home real fast..." She admitted. In fact, she did want to go home, change into something where she can actually run and move in. Maybe even grab her sword? "If we're going to be attacking the lions in their own den, wouldn't we want to be...Oh I don't know, more...Prepared?" Evelyn wasn't going to be attacking anyone in that big fluffy dress of hers, that was for sure. When asked about sheep and horses, she did shake her head. "No, I've never herded sheep...Not much of a farmer for that matter. But Horses, I can handle. To answer your question."  When the woman didn't state her name, Evelyn became a bit skeptical of her motives, but since she wasn't being put in harm's way, she didn't really mind since she was going to find out sooner or later anyway. She smiled when the woman said she had a beautiful name. "It means...Hazelnut." She chuckled, slightly embarrassed. However, she did love her name and cherished it. The woman was not wrong, her name was beautiful. Even to her.

Soon they approached a man with a cane, but Evelyn allowed her to do the talking. But before Evelyn herself can say anything else, she felt the floor shaking and she could feel small spikes getting into her boots. Now she was immobilized before hearing a loud voice from the back of her head. Whoever it was, what were they talking about? That was what Evelyn didn't exactly understand. What was going on too? Before she could say anything, she would see a figure appear and another altercation before it attempted to attack one of the others. Now she was trying to figure out what was going on and what the figure was talking about. Godlings? That was just silly legend...Now would probably be a good time to go home. Soon, the noblewoman attempted to break free.

'Fuck me...'  Was all Alex thought as the creature targeted him, in response he moved his arm up attempting to defend himself against the incoming charge.... Sadly Alex wasn't ready, not by a long shot.  He had assumed the enemy would charge him, you know run?  But having him teleport, or at least move so fast that his eyes couldn't keep up with him... Well that took him off guard to say the least.  The pure speed the other used was unbelievable, when the individual stopped in front of him to attack, Alex felt his blood not just run cold, but practically freeze.  Out of the corner of his eyes he saw the ebony dagger targeting his midriff.   Time seemed to go extremely still at this point as his heart raced against his chest and the final seconds of his life went by.

He couldn't move his feet an inch, they were stuck, he couldn't get out in a flash.  And even if he could what then?  This...thing?  This thing wasn't normal that speed the sound of its voice, none of it was right.  But sadly he cloud only react to so many things at once, he would have to be utterly shocked about the creatures speed later.  For now...now he had to pay attention in not getting sliced clean through.   With everything going slow even his own movements couldn't pass a snail at this point, but that didn't mean he was going to give up right there.  His body moved on its own as he started to lean back to avoid the attack, hoping the blade would pass over him but not actually make contact.  As he started to lean back a voice reached his ears, someone was sorry?  Why?  Why would they be sorry surely the thing in front of him wasn't the one that said it so who?  That's when he felt pain in the back of his leg, and the pain wasn't something to just brush off whatever came in contact with him hurt like a bitch to say the least and it hampered him greatly as the force made it so rather than fall back...he fell forward. It was forcing him into a kneeling position and really being on his knee when an attack was coming for his gut...isnt' the best position to be in.  As the blade would still keep going but now for a new target, the side of his face.  If it hit the attack wouldn't just be a light cut on his cheek, no, if that attack his it would likely go through his cheek all the way to the other side.  Instant death.

The time still passing so slow, so painfully slow as his heart hammered against his chest.  There was nothing he could do now not before the attack killed him.  He could see others were attempting to help him.  If he didn't have time to even think about a comment for the attempted help.  But all it was, was an attempt it was too late.  Even as a bullet went to the creature, and some soot tried to blind it, even then it wouldn't matter.  The blade was a centimeter from his face now unless there was a large force that shoved the thing back....it was over for Alex. 'Fuck......... I left Anthony in charge.....shit, he better not take any of my things....' That was the thought that came to mind as he closed his eye accepting what was about to happen.  'I guess... I'm meeting you sooner than I thought I would Alice....damn'  With that thought  the obsidian dagger came into contact with his skin.  It started to slice it open, making its way closer to the back of his head...it was only a matter of miniseconds before he was practically decapitated.  'Not yet boy.'   '........What???'

Just as the dagger was about to embed itself too deep, Alex unconsciously made his move, one moment there was nothing and the next.  His eye opened shimmering gold but there was a mixture of a black abyss in his iris (his eye patch was moving a bit but he didn't take it off), a blast of force left him, not enough to damage the attacker but it was something the others felt, a powerful push of wind.  After the wind was set forth Alex was surrounded in a visible black aura one that would give off a cold feeling to those around him.  He wasn't done,  his shadow, and the shadow of the people around him suddenly shifted.  'Get this away from what is mine.'  '????'     At this everything went back to normal and not even the second it did a huge wave of shadows burst forth.  Wave isn't the right word for it, a jet of shadows. raced to come into contact with the attacker.  The force behind the attack was so great if it hit the attacker wouldn't have much choice than to be knocked back a decent distance away from Alex.  Rising from his kneeling position Alex snapped his fingers once and jet of shadows disappeared from view.  Letting his hand go by his side, two tendril came forth and with a simple whip destroyed what bounded Alex to the ground.  While one shadow crept up to his cheek and remained on it in a solid form, stopping the blood from leaving his cheek.   The shadows then moved once more (the one on his cheek stayed) all forms were gone but anyone that looked at Alex's shadow would see it was waving and unnatural.   Everyone else was back to normal his alone was acting up.  Alex's eye turned back to normal light brown, and his eye patch stopped moving and he stood there with a tight grip on his steel pip.  "........................"  Keeping a neutral look on his face he had zero clue how to respond to what he just witness, he wanted to assume he was in a dream, however the pain in his leg and cheek told him otherwise.

The figure was surprised that the inventor human could move so fast. The man almost had his prey to safety, almost, but for every second that passed this being counted three, his power made him impossibly fast and he knew his blow would be fatal, that is until the shadows came. The figure was about to react but then a searing pain shot through one of his savage red eyes and dust flew into the other. The blast of shadow forced the being off his feet and he tumbled away from his opponent. When the shadows clear the figure knelt on one knee, dark mist pouring from the bullet wound in his eye.

Tobias forced himself painfully into a crouch and looked up. The creature's eyes, what was left of them held a twinge of fear. despite this however the creature began to chuckle.

"So...our foes awaken. As it is said. Your mortal puppets will not last long against the might of our masters..."

Nikolai had been seeing to Tobias but now he stood, sword drawn.

"Dis thing is talking too much!" He barked. Nikolai had no idea what had just happened, but his military training taught him to adjust to the unexpected.

He moved to flank the creature, sword point never moving from center. His eyes flicked to the others that looked capable, asking them to do the same. The creature was fast to be sure, but also wounded, and as fast as it might be it could not ward off so many attacks at once.

The figure saw the move coming however and scanned the room, singling out the weakest members, then without warning he lunged straight for Evelyn, obsidian dagger already slicing through the air towards her neck.

Fish - quite uncharacteristically - almost let out a girlish scream as the assassin began moving towards her with speed not even her eyes could fathom. She could digest the fact that her opponent had multiple arms somehow, she thought she might be drunk or something from what she drank earlier... but to virtually teleport? That was cheating on a whole new level. She raised her weapon, trying to deflect the surely incoming fatal blow but then something completely surprising happened. After hearing a loud crack behind her she noticed the noble boy Tobias rushing towards her, somehow deflecting the attack that was meant for her. As she watched the boy almost literally flying away from the blow a surprised expression sat on her face.

Fish was paralyzed for a moment when she saw the noble boy tossed around with ease. This opponent was not something she wanted to face - not here and not now. She was no coward by any means but without her gadgets and with this ancient weapon she was surely no match for the guy.

" Picking on the weak, eh? Noble... " she hissed, jumping away quickly. She watched how at first Olivia decided to attack her assailant, creating enough distraction for her to hurry up to the blown away boy. When she saw Nikolai by his side murmuring she stomped on the ground.

" Well, you are like a massive grizzly bear no? Shove his daggers up in his back or something then! " she exclaimed, kneeling down to Tobias " Have you lost your little noble mind of yours? First you crash a cart and now you jump in front of a dagger? I thought your educated, speaking airhead would know better! "

She was furious... but glad deep down. She was now in the debt of this princeling... a thought she did not favor too much but since her code of honor dictated debts to be repaid... She wanted to tend to the wounds of the boy at least, if anything then that one year with her father taught her how to be useful in that field. But just when she wanted to inspect him Tobias forced himself upwards into a crouching position.

" Woah, woah, WOAH. You ain't going anywhere, prince charming! " she yelled " Have you heard this lunatic? He babbles about gods and stuff! Hell, one of the other guys in the room unleashed shadows. SHADOWS. No way you will fight them, your bodyguard shall do that for you! Look, he is already busy chopping that thing up. "

Fish looked at the dark monster, seemingly weakened for a while... but it did not seem to relent. He was as hellbent on destroying his foes as it was persistent... and that made the girl worry. Surely enough, the assassin began to suddenly move towards someone new she had not recognized - she only realized what move was coming next.

" You stay here and recuperate! It seems there are more damsels in distress than I expected! " pointing with the spear at Tobias and then throwing it to the ground the girl did not hesitate - with vengeance evident in her eyes she leaped towards the girl...

A loud hiss was to be heard as the dagger was embedded into the steam powered arm of Fish, making the precious resource leave her hand as she struggled to fend the attacker off. She already felt the hand malfunctioning and struggling to hold together but she could not allow these nobles to get hurt... maybe she could harvest some debts when this was over.

" Oy, pretty one, move already! " she said, looking at the one behind her " Either try and find a safe spot to hide your pretty face in or pick up the slack else this maniac will roast us alive! "

The next few moments were, to say the least, chaotic. Not that she particularly dislike chaos, but the deadly kind was a little agreeable, and not what she expected from a venue such as this. In the split second after she bumped into the large, eye-patched man standing with a pair of nobles and a common-girl, they all turned and reacted to something behind her.

When she turned, she found herself looking at a pair of men who seemed intent on murder. What a wonderful outing this was turning out to be. The rich young woman froze, and could only watch as those men were quickly dispatched by the others around her. What in the name of-

Things instantly became more strange. Spikes trapped her feet to the floor, and the figures that had been attacking merged.. into one.. with four arms..

This was wrong. This was wrong in so so many ways. She had to get out of here.. This had to be a dream..

A voice, like a thousand skittering bugs (locust, thousands of locust) sounded in her head. Godlings? Mortal puppets?

While a part of her wanted nothing more than to wake up from this nightmare, there was another part that steeled at those words. It rose, and her hands itched for activity. Who was this creature to be harming people, especially these women and children?

The young woman looked about herself, searching for sometime to pry the tines off her feet. There wasn't anything in reach except for some small noisemaker (sistrum, for the dance of my festival). She snatched it up, and her body tensed for a moment, like a bolt of energy had run through her. And then, with a blink, she continued as if nothing had happened. She did not notice that the sistrum, previously looking dusty and ancient, now seemed to be gleaming and brand new. The entrapment sprung free with much leveraging, and Ophelia stood quickly. She needed something more effective than a musical instrument. There was a staff, or something, leaned against one of the displays. It had a scary looking point on one end, which would be useful. She darted to it, or went as fast as her dress would allow (wasn't it a little too warm?). The world was racing so much that she didn't notice the extra thoughts she was having, the ones that didn't seem to be entirely hers.

With the staff in one hand, and the sistrum in the other, she turned to face the dark figure- who was no heading toward one of the women. The commoner lept forward, preventing the blow from landing, but it became clear that even the tough one couldn't hold off this being alone. Without thought, Ophelia dashed forward and lifted her staff, stabbing the pointed bottom toward the body of the black thing.

Olivia, the ghost of a smile still tugging at her lips, quickly moved behind an exhibit of a steam engine. The exhibition, luckily more secure than the exhibit that had been let loose earlier, wasn't exactly the ideal representation of conventional cover but Olivia thought it better than none at all. That being said, she was not knowledgeable in acts of strategy or war, her instincts just seemed to take over. It was like the figure said, something had definitely awakened: Olivia wanted to know what exactly this would be assassin actually meant by that.

As naturally as she had the first time, Olivia reloaded the rifle and took a glance out of her cover, watching as her comrades, she guessed, started to lay into their assailant. There were many others, Olivia now saw, trapped with the original group. Beyond the commoner, who was now armed with a pretty ancient looking spear, and the nobility she had met earlier was various other members of the upper and lower classes. Some of them looked oddly dressed, others more formally so; regardless, they were all united in a common goal: killing their assailant. This made Olivia tense: she wanted to get information from this figure; it seemed to know a lot more than any of the other individuals did, and if this... shadow -she guessed- was destroyed -she guessed again- then no information would be garnered whatsoever.

Raising her rifle, she noticed Nikolai glance at her, telling her something; she had no idea what it was. Distracted for a moment, Olivia didn't initially notice the figure had started moving again, this time after a woman that wasn't armed.

"Kusipaa," she cursed, snapping her rifle to aim just in front of the figure, hoping that when she pulled the trigger, the bullet would slam into the other eye. A bullet was sent flying, a green aura about it again, hurtling towards her quarry.

Before she pulled the trigger, Olivia called out, "Don't kill it! A captured enemy is better than a dead one!"

Analette raised a slight brow when she saw the attackers stopping their attacks all at once. Looking around the room, Analette took notice of their actions, seeing as they were herding the other unwanted guest out of the room, only keeping a select few inside: the ones they wanted to kill, including her. Something suspicious was happening and warning bells were going off in her head. Had the attackers known what kind of plan she was devising? Although the attackers didn’t work in continuum, the fact of the matter was that they wanted something out of this game of cat and mouse. But, before she could ponder more, she felt the grounds shake beneath her as she balanced herself from the rockiness of the floor. However, before she could react, spikes appeared beneath her foot, almost piercing through her bare-foot as the spikes only managed to surface between her first toe and second toe. If she moved her feet over a little more, her toe probably wouldn’t even be intact, much less even have a steady footing if the spike pierced her foot. Seeing the blood dripping down between her first and second toe, Analette carefully and concisely maneuvered her feet in a way she was able to get out of the tight hold as she tippy-toed to an area without the spikes. Not paying attention to the pain and the blood, Analette narrowed her eyes as she heard the words “godly power”. Who was Godly? What were they going on about? Could it be another prediction? However, her answers were soon answered indirectly as the five figures merged into one inhumane being as Analette looked upon the creature in slight confusion and wonder. She only saw beings or rather read of such omens in books and metaphors of her tellings, but never in person. Her dreams showed beings and happenings such as these but never would they come true, for she thought they were only warnings of some kind. Was someone mocking her? Or was this really happening?

However, her attention was driven away from the merged figure as she heard one of the so-called noblemen screaming out-loud his every thoughts. Looking over towards the nobleman, calling what just happened a “gypsy” trick, Analette placed her hand on her hip, allowing her weight to fall to her right side as she allowed her injured left foot rest, “You finally showed your true colors, a foul mouth you have, nobleman. Or rather, uncouthed unidentified male. I find it quite offensive for you to compare us to something as monstrous and inhumane as this being before us as well as saying we are in the same level as witches.” Analette amusingly said before her eyes hardened as she stared at him coldly. Her gaze never faltered as she eyed him before turning her attention towards the young female that had a lot of spunk. She would never allow her family to be stooped or compared to such a level as those that the so-called nobleman had named. However, hearing ungrateful the male was to the nobleman that was next to her with the cane, Analette merely shook her head, “Men and their pride. Or rather stubbornness. You did a mighty fine job, sir. Even if he hadn’t wanted any help, it was definitely useful to him.” Analette’s attention was then on the attacks the young woman and the nobleman that had tipped the train as they tried their hand at harming the being, but to no avail. A slight hum escaped Analette’s lips before the being spoke of killing the “loud” one.

@Peaceswore @DawnAntalios @SilverFlight @andujarprime

But, of course, as luck would have it, it seemed the charming noblemen, once again, came to rescue the uncouth so-called nobleman. A light laugh escaped Analette’s lip as she shook her head, knowing how much that move must be ruffling the thief’s feathers. However, she was thoroughly impressed at how quick and fast the charming noblemen’s movements were, though show no signs of interest beyond a clap. Soon enough, another attack headed towards the figure’s direction as she saw a bullet hit the figure’s eye. Looking towards the prepatrator that shot the figure’s eyes, Analette noticed it was one of the young Ladies’ that was with the nobleman that tipped the train. A grin crossed Analette’s face as she saw the that smile etched on the woman that never held a gun in her life before make her mark. Soon, Analette’s eyes drifted towards the exotic male, seeing him holding his medallion tightly in his hands, as if in prayer. Wanting to give him some privacy, Analette looked away, though seeing the tanned-skin man before her made her feel some sort of odd comfort, seeing he was different as she was. However, at hearing a young boy speak towards the figure next and added an attack of his own by soot, Analette giggled, definitely entertained at what was happening before her.

@Baconhands @Yahaga @Bolts @andujarprime @Peaceswore

After some time, Analette’s attention went back to Evelyn as she heard the woman’s responses. She wondered if she had ruffled Evelyn’s feathers yet, but noticed some blank stares the woman had given her. Hiding emotions and hiding secrets was what Analette was best at, so seeing Evelyn match some expressions she would make or think twice of what to say, reminded her of herself. However, hearing her admit that she wanted to change into something more breathable, Analette let out a smile, but smiled even wider at the next words she said “more prepared”. “It is definitely good to be prepared, especially in something that is easier to move in. Your hands. They are not as smooth and unblemished as most noblewoman from around here. If you wish to hide the secret you hold dear so much, make sure to take precautions of your hands. Hands can tell everything. Gloves are great resources.” Analette’s raspy, sultry voice whispered softly as she winked at Evelyn.  At hearing that Evelyn knew that her name meant hazelnut, a gentle smile appeared on Analette’s face as she nodded. “You are right. But, it also means life.”

@Windrunner

However, before Analette could even begin to finish the conversation with Evelyn, there were bigger problems at hand. Before she knew it, the figure headed straight for Evelyn as it’s obsidan dagger went in for a swing at Evelyn’s neck, “Evelyn, duck!” She called out towards her, before she heard a “clank” from the young woman’s arm as the dagger was embedded in her arm. Hearing the girl yelling Evelyn to move, Analette stood in front of Evelyn, waiting for her to go move behind further away, “Get to the wall, Evelyn.” As she faced forward, Analette pulled out her two throwing knives and aimed it for points where it can not kill the figure but hopefully in areas where it can fall. One knife was aimed for a funny bone area, on the other free arm, while the other knife was aimed for the weakened knee on the free side where a staff was not at the bottom of its feet. Analette hoped her accuracy was correct, just wanting the figure to fall over, or stay in position. “I am right behind you, when you are able to let go and push the figure away.” She spoke to the young girl, ready to cushion her fall.

Harmerti had loosened his grip on his medallion, making it fall to the point where it almost left his hand entirely, only holding on by the string. Watching the medallion dangle freely, he wasn't sure if his prayers were answered and frankly he didn't even think they would be effective with this unknown, four armed creature attacking everybody. This doubt had made him clench his fists tightly, making his knuckles turn whiter. Have his idols abandoned him? Where have they gone? He came to this Expo for some enjoyment, possibly make some friends, and learn some new things. At least this is what Jameson wanted him to do. Ergh... Jameson. This is his fault. All of this. If it weren't for him, he wouldn't be here. He would be peaceful in his lonely home with only a falcon for company, cawing at him for attention and food. He would be perfectly fine doing this his entirely life. It was cozy. This? This is far from cozy or enjoyable, Jameson. Far from it.

This threatening being was simply spouting nonsense and being vague nonsense at that. And the way these people were almost taunting it? Don't they know not to spit in Death's face? Harmerti's mind continued to say flee. Flee and leave the rest for dead. What a disgusting thought. It was as if there was a war going on inside his head now. With every thought that this creature had stirred in his mind, with every incident that had occurred previously, questions with no answers, questions birthing more questions, he could feel them fight each other. His head had begun to throb heavily, causing him to growl under his breath. This is fine. Just don't cause trouble for the others. Keep this to yourself. Yes.... Remain alone in your lonely head. Good....

So set the wood in preparation for the fire.

Harmerti had looked over at Alex as the being had attempted to stab him, perhaps to finish him in one blow. Harmerti expected a short scream before silence, but received nothing like that. Instead, his shadow, everyone's shadow had decided to move. Then a sudden cloud of darkness had rushed toward the being. Great. The person Harmerti had seemingly befriended was nothing he expected. Perhaps just another being, like the other one he had attacked, sent for murder. Though he didn't even seem to know what happened. Is this the "power" the being wanted? Did it just want to harvest them? And what do his masters want? Questions! More questions! And where the hell are the answers to pair them? Why can't he just have a peaceful life without something like this happening to him? Why can't he have a normal life?

So set the fuel in preparation for the fire.

They had begun to retaliate against the, fighting back with everything they knew how. Metal, steel, brawn, all were made weapons it seemed. Some crawled their way to others for aid, some holding the line. Everyone seemed to be doing something, and yet Harmerti stood, feet still trapped. Do something. Don't be useless. These people could use all the help they can get, yet you stand selfish and confused. You can make a difference, Harmerti. Just move.

But he didn't.

Why are you like this?

But he didn't respond.

Even the one trying to kill you is doing something. Your father may not like him when his soul reaches him, but at the least he will respect that he has done his best in what he has tried to do. Why is this so hard for you?

But he still did not respond.

His head had suddenly gone silent. No more questions, no more answers, yet he didn't feel at peace. Something was gnawing at him, pestering him still. Given time, this thing would only take its flight and control him. Harmerti had followed where the being had been travelling, attacking someone who looked as though she couldn't defend herself. Even with help, what could they do?

Harmerti had released his grip on his medallion, letting it fall entirely to the ground. It seemed as though his gods have abandoned him. Now more than ever has he felt truly alone.

So set the spark to light the readied fire. It's journey from the rock it was birthed from had begun toward the fuel soaked wood.

And so he stood there, a statue of his former self. No help given, no movement shown. Lifeless, but with a still beating heart. He no longer knew reality and hoped death upon himself soon from this underworldly being. He awaited the emptiness of the afterlife the gods that he once worshiped had now promised him upon their seeming abandonment. What is the difference between what is now and what will be then, in death? As long as he felt his heart still pound against his chest, he knew he still was alive. Perhaps the others can overcome this being on their own. Please let them.

Just as Evelyn freed her boots from the spikes that bound her to the floor, Evelyn looked up to see the figure that was intimidating and attacking one charging towards her, with a Black-Bladed Dagger in its hand. While she was a warrior -In Secret- she was currently unprepared. With no time to react, all Evelyn could do was just shield herself and close her eyes before she heard a loud clanking noise. When she opened her eyes again, it would seem that another woman had gotten in between her and sudden death. Now that she was no longer bound by the spikes, Evelyn backed away from her attempted killer and her savior at the urging of her new friend. At the moment, as much as she didn't want to admit it, Evelyn was absolutely terrified of the fact that she almost got killed and was a bit shaken up by what happened. What was her attempted killer trying to do? What was his motive? Better yet, she still wanted to know what was going on. If only she had a Dagger at the very least. She wasn't going to run off. She did curse at the fact that her big fluffy dress hindered her so bad.

The creature turned at the last moment and caught Ophelia's staff with one blade, this allowed him to see the other girl fire the rifle again. he expected a normal bullet however and when his blade blocked it the shot blew his arm back, shattering the knife in a shower of black sparks. The figure snarled and jumped back, glancing nervously from Olivia to Alex. Two now had their powers, and they were much stronger than he had predicted. The other thing he hadn't expected was the bravery. He had been told that mortals would cower like sheep, but these mortals did not.

Tobias blinked in surprise at Fish's gruff concern. Despite her rude comments he smiled. "You do have a heart in there after all!..We'll get through this." He said in a determined tone. "I know it."

Nikolai had rushed in when he had seen the figure go for Evelyn but jumped back at the last moment when he saw the rifle raised. His shock at the green aura was evident. He muttered something in Russian with a look of sheer disbelief, but he couldn't help but notice the uneasy stance their enemy now held. This was the time to press their advantage. He lunged forward, forcing the figure away from the girls and into the open.

He had heard Olivia's call to keep the man alive. All his soldier instincts told him not to take that chance, but he would comply with the orders of the nobility if that was what they had decided.

The figure stepped back out of Nikolai's range, their difference in speed was like watching a duel between a tortoise and a cat, the figure danced around Nikolai's blade and brought a hard fist down on his back. Nikolai was surprised by the strength of the blow and tried to take the momentum down and away, rolling out of the dagger's range. Hopefully this had provided enough of a distraction for one of the others to take a solid strike.

Moddy managed to scurry away from the fray as everyone else seemed to be dealing with the fight. The strange figure didn't even bother following him as he was preoccupied by the others. He started to climb on some statue of sorts and managed to find a nice sitting spot to rest on. He watched as they all had their weapons out and trying to stand their ground. He found it quite peculiar that so many had weapons that got past the guards. He shrugged though, not like they check his own pockets for his slingshot. He took a few more pebbles out and started to unload into the group. He didn't really care who he hit, it just seemed fun. Like shooting fish in a barrel! He laughed out as he pelted the lot with rocks. It didn't really do much in terms of damage, it was more so annoying than anything. If he hit an eye, then maybe he would actually do something. While sitting, he swung his legs as he passed the time. You all are a bunch of weirdos, especially you Alex. You gotta show me that shadow trick sometime! He yelled out. If the monster guy decide to make his way over here, it wasn't like he would be able to reach the kid as quick from the ground right? The thought of getting targeted over the other treats would be silly to him. for some monster guy, you really are having a hard time killing people. If you can't kill some human, then what makes you think you can kill a human with some power or whatever you said? Pretty pathetic if you ask me. He chuckled while clicking his heels.

Alex had nothing to say after what he just did.  A ton of questions swarmed through his head but none of them were voiced.  He was so lost he couldn't even come up with a response to the gypsy woman right now.  Honestly he didn't care his cover was blown he just wanted logic to fall behind whatever was happening.  When the enemy went to attack a girl he didn't move an inch and watched for a moment.  'How am I one of the only ones freaking out?  I....just....fuck me.'  Closing his eyes a minute he cracked his knuckles.  "You know what, I don't want to be in the presence of you fucks.  But hell, I and whoever is talking in my damn head really hates whoever that pile of bug shit."  He said in a low growl his eyes gleaming a bit as he glared at the enemy.  "Bet if I take my leave bastard will follow me.'   He watched the fight between the creature and the older man and said nothing as he waited, waited for a possible opening.   His eyes flashed to the man with the cane and gave him a glare.  "You, don't do that shoddy thing you call help.  Its not welcomed and it was twice now useless.  If you want to help, run into the that bag of filth's dagger.  I can imagine you just maybe being useful if he doesn't slice through you instantly."     Once these anger filled words were out he saw his chance to attack though his weapon was a blunt one. '...Can I do those shadow things again? ..........Hello?  .............................Anyone there????  ..............Bah fuck it I'll figure it out.'   Holding his hand out he concentrated a bit trying to see if he could get those shadows to do that thing they did before.  However after a second nothing happening, his shadow was still the only one that waved and seemed to have wisps leave it but other than that nothing.  Cussing under his breath for the failure to do what he had done earlier he brushed it off.  He wasted enough time in that attempt.  'Was that just in my head???'  Tightening his grip on the pole that was only a third of its complete height, Alex ran forward.  His movements a bit slow as the leg that the James had hit earlier was bruising, and despite his lack of acknowledgement to the pain it was infact hampering him a bit, if the area where the attack were visible, a bruise could be seen forming.   Even though he was in pain he ran toward the enemy the best he could (which was decently fast but sadly not his best) he sound he made was absolutely minimal something he learned to do after years of being a thief.  Once he got close he tightened his grip on the pipe and attempted to hit the enemy hard on its head.  However this wasn't the only thing that happened, when his shadow came into contact with the enemy a pillar of shadow shot out of Alex's shadow (much to his surprise) and was rushing right to the enemy back at shocking speeds. 'Meant to do that...'
