That's totally fine! I just didn't want to overwhelm anyone with making too many characters to start. But if you have an idea for both, have at it, my homie.1. Would it be okay for me to submit a human and an angel? I understand we'd be playing multiple characters regardless, but I wanted to check in case you only needed one to start.
It's kind of a known and general thing for ALL angels to some regard, depending how strong they are with the light/soul. That's why I didn't include it. They have inhuman strength and regenerative capabilities. The stronger they are, the more those abilities help them. The weaker, the more human they become. In order to use their abilities, they need souls. It's kind of a catch 22. The miracles I sometimes talk about happen mostly when they use their abilities for others, i.e. they heal someone by giving them a portion of their own light.2. In regards to angel abilities, do we also put that on sheet now or is that something we'll get to? I only ask as I noticed that wasn't a parameter on the provided sheet.
In the Discord, definitely!3. Will there be a lore thread to collect all our worldbuilding and to keep track of what's already happened?
Yes. Once members have been accepted, I'll invite people to the Discord via PM. Until then, we have this page to chat and share ideas.4. Can we expect a discord for ooc purposes? All good if not, it is my preference but I can mostly certainly deal with it.
Thank you! It's one of my favorite codes, Uxie did a wonderful job, so I wanted to try being a lil creative with it.5. This isn't a question, I just wanted to say your interest check looked very lovely and I adore the code. Nice one!

Not really, no! But if you have ideas that might change that, feel free to let me know. Otherwise, you donβt gotta worry about it.Sorry, maybe I should clarify. Do angels have specific/unique abilities aside from the norm, and if so should we put those on the CS?
Well, if we're spitballing, what if angels had the ability to manifest their powers through the influence of the surroundings? So if one were to spend a long time underwater, perhaps their soul energy would acclimitise to the water and become able to manipulate it?Not really, no! I LOVE the idea of βyou are what you eatβ or them manifesting powers by incorporating/adapting to those things theyβve been around the most. Itβd explain why they took a more human figure when their lights started to dim and go out.Well, if we're spitballing, what if angels had the ability to manifest their powers through the influence of the surroundings? Alternatively, there's the "you are what you eat" method, wherein angels gain access to traits and/or abilities of other creatures/angels they consume the light of. Slightly more straight-forward, I suppose, but you take my point. If you wanted, you could also introduce the idea of "extraterrestrial powers" coming from angels that ate the souls of alien lifeforms. Not sure if that's the direction you're going though, plus I don't see this as too heavily power-focused anyway.
I'm glad you like it! To start, maybe these abilities take forever to manifest and, with them being so weak, they just donβt have the energy for it, but Iβd love to incorporate more of this idea into the future of the rp. To start though, weβll just keep to the basics, strength and regen. Keep it easy and build from there.
Thank you SO much for the ideas.
Homie, your brain is IMMENSE. I love love love this. I think that all makes total sense. Angels/ghouls to start with already have an inclination when it comes to souls though, especially when their desperate for one. They can sense their general presence when theyβre are near. Thatβs what leads a lot of human settlements to their end and why they try to mostly stay on the move nowadays. This village was the exception because they were on an island, but with the angels/ghouls arrival that changes things.I'm glad you like it! If it's ideas you want, I'm the right person to talk to.
If I were to suggest a beginner ability for the ghouls on the beach, perhaps their time rotting in the water has led to the adaptation of Hydrolocation? They can now sense the water, feel its cold ebb and flow, and can feel that harsh cold in the humans they are so desperately hungry for. Since they're so physically debilitated, I thought it might be neat for them to have some kind of utility to aid them in searching out their prey.
A complete side note, the human I make is going to refer to the ghouls as "The Drowned" because I think it sounds cool.
Perhaps Hydrolocation could be given some more effectiveness then, like instead of being able to observe light to see conventionally - the Drowned simply see hues of "water" instead. This could theoretically allow them to "see" humans or other water-based creatures with more accuracy, i.e. through a wall, while still keeping in line with the local adaption idea.Homie, your brain is IMMENSE. That's gnarly as hell and I love it, yes yes and all of my yesesEDIT: Maybe the drowned also keep leaking water, like it pours from their mouths and eyes. They continue to look drenched. Theyβre imprinting and trying to adapt without a soul and itβs twisting their forms.
I agree, really adds a sense of survivalism and community in building that apocalyptic culture. I reckon I might even have different names for ghouls depending on what environment is debilitating them. Such as ghouls in the desert being called Sun Walkers and the like.I like the idea of different groups coming up with different names for everything. Kind of like TWD and walkers. Mirus, an Angel, refers to ghouls as The Lost. To her own kind, she just calls them angels since they didnβt really have a name to start with. They just take whatever name is given to them upon arrival. So, I like it!
Yesssss. Just a little something to set them apart but also make them a little scarier, like they can't quite make out what you are but you feel somewhat warmer to their "sight" and that means food. Does that make sense?

The year is twenty years from the present time, 2043. And I imagined it some place in Maine, US. The town name could be New Denver or something. For the sake of background fodder and context, what year is it exactly? And location of the village?
That's exactly the vibe I was going for, nice!Yesssss. Itβs giving TLOU clickers and Iβm here for it.
Perhaps we could put forward suggestions and vote? The town name could be New Denver or something.
I like the suggestions and vote idea! We'll probs do that when members have been accepted and the discord has been created. That's exactly the vibe I was going for, nice!

Very excited for this also! I should have my characters up by tomorrow or the day after.
It is twenty years from the present day, 2043. There are few humans who remain, and all stay on the move since their very presence brings angels to their doorsteps. They are mostly nomadic. The settlement the rp focuses on is the exception only because they were rather isolated on their island. They have put down crops and made repairs to the structures around them. They have families here. What tech level was humanity at? How much do we know about the remaining humans?
Would any outsiders have arrived on the island? I am interested in playing a rough survivalist type who was a nomad before and now helps protect the island. It is twenty years from the present day, 2043. Oh, man. I like it! Definitely excited to see where you take this. Itβs not impossible for outsiders to come to the island so, by all means, have at it.Would any outsiders have arrived on the island? A bit of an unstable figure, marred by the violence of the world and desiring more than anything, freedom from the divine. A freedom that can only come from the barrel of a gun.
They can, but their souls arenβt quite the same as a humans. In desperate measures they consume animals and plant life. Ghouls are akin to zombies, TLOU. Still aware but driven by an insatiable hunger.bad wolf
1. Do angels and ghouls attack and consume animals? Is there a preference? Additionally, are ghouls generally more dumb and animalistic?
Vegetation is overgrown in areas angels and ghouls infrequent. Thatβs how humans try to get around. They go where the βlifeβ is.2. how does the world look like? Is vegetation overgrown or is it more lifeless?
Not really. Settlements are very few and far between. Most humans have become nomadic.3. Is there trade between settlements or common routes taken between them?
Itβs pretty isolated and one of a kind, a true human-made miracle, one given by chance. It takes about half a day by boat to get to the island.4. How isolated is this island? Would it be known to other settlements or accessible to travelers or is it hidden?
All humans have encountered both unless they are very VERY young. The island was no exception. However, due to its low pop, most angels moved on before they could become ghouls.5. has the settlement been attacked before by ghouls or angels?
ah ok thank you! So its probably best thematically if the characters are from the island or have been there for a while then. They can, but their souls arenβt quite the same as a humans.
