Cassidy "Cas" Wickham || 16 || Initiate || Erudite Transfer
Cassidy walked back briskly from the Nest, she was moving as fast as possible without drawing attention, as she knew that she was pushing her luck with her timing. It was damn close to training starting, and she knew if she missed it she wouldn't be gathering any favours. Hell she was already behind by the fact that she wasn't there, and thus everyone else was getting more information than her. As soon as she was a decent amount away from the Nest she jogged the rest of the way. Jogging wasn't too painful for her, although it didn't take long for any physical activity to become painful for her. As she jogged her mind went back to the interactions with Draven and Cheglok. They were good fun, she had known them for a while and she trusted them to an extent. She knew she could always trust their information, and she believed she could read them well enough to know if something dodgy was happening. Speaking to Cheglok had been risky, compared to him Cassidy was a tiny sparrow, and he was a falcon. But she was wily, she had her ways, and she knew what people wanted a lot of the time. Be resourceful and prepared to do most anything, and most people will become putty in one's hands. Draven had been easy, all he would want was a favour. Cassidy knew it was stupid to agree to a favour without conditions, but she knew Draven well enough to know he wouldn't ask her to do anything she couldn't do, there were only a few things that Cassidy couldn't, or wouldn't do. Cheglok was another matter entirely. Sitting with him just on it's own had been dangerous, the smoke and drugs that laced the very air of that room were having a lasting effect on Cassidy's body already. She felt light, like she was running on air and not the ground, she felt like if she spread her arms she would fly away. Her mind soared with colours and sounds that were not possible to make on earth, and her body was being washed over with delicious feelings. This was without her even taking any internally. However she still had her mind about her, she wasn't out of her sorts, her body may have been reacting but her mind was straight. As was Cheglok's. She had wondered, was this to do in any way with her being a Divergent? Or was it simply the intention of the drug? It seemed unlikely that a drug that strong would have such physiological effects without changing her mind. Yet she didn't know and wasn't going to find out anytime soon. She had got what she wanted, Cheglok would help her, he would deliver a message to her parents and would be on call for if anything were to happen, in exchange for two favours, one of which was fast, quick and Cassidy was able to fulfill it then and there, the other was going to have to wait. Cassidy shivered as she ran, trying to shake out the effects so that she wouldn't look or seem drugged out by the time she got to training. The last thing she wanted was to get in trouble with the instructors.
As she finally made it back to the Dauntless compound she was relieved to see she still had about 10 minutes left before training technically started. She took a small detour on the way to the training area, and slowed down to a fast walking pace. She was breathing quickly from the jog, and could feel a tinge of pain, but it was still heavily dulled from the drugs. She walked confidently however, and entered the dorm. She walked through, unsurprised to see nobody else in here, and made her way to a bed that was not her own. In fact the bed was Lainey's, however Lainey did not use it due to having found an apartment to share with Shay. Thus, Cas had been using her bed as a secret spot to store anything she didn't wish to be found. Nobody cleaned the dorms, if you wanted clean sheets and bedding you had to do it yourself, and not many people did. But Cassidy had found a loose section of Lainey's bed, which was the bottom half of a bunk, and had used it as storage. As she sat on Lainey's bed, she let one minute go past with her simply sitting there and breathing in and out, counting 4 for each, inhale, hold, exhale, hold. As she did, she listened intently for any footsteps or noises, and once she believed that there was truly nobody around, she made her next move quick. Reaching under Lainey's bed, she found the small compartment that had previously just been a hole but Cassidy had turned into a small compartment. Reaching in she grabbed a small bag filled with white powder and gently pulled it out, careful not to let any of the other small bags fall out. As soon as she pulled it out, she checked the bag to make sure it was sealed tightly, and that it would not leak or spill. Her eyes got wider and she could feel her heart beating in anticipation as she stared at the white powder. Her body was already so dosed that she had no need for any drugs, but looking at it made her twitch, it made her pause, it made her consider. It didn't take long however for her to reason with herself, she was grabbing this bag for a reason, and if she used it now then that reason would be completely irrelevant. She would have to come get more, and she would have one less bag of lull in her private storage, and lull wasn't cheap. She had made it into such tight bags that she knew there was the perfect amount in each bag, she couldn't overdose on just one bag and it was enough to do what she needed. She sighed softly and tucked it into her clothes, not in a pocket but delicately tucked within her clothes as to hide it and conceal that she was carrying anything. She checked her time and her eyes widened as she saw that it was only a minute till training was meant to start. Getting up from the bed she shook her head out, she should still have had five minutes left, but the time had flown by while she had been staring at the bag. Cheglok what was that drug in the air? She thought with frustration as she got up and began to sprint towards the training room. Thankfully it wasn't far, and Cassidy made it in quietly seeping into the background of the initiates.
She was surprised to see it hadn't quite started yet, and she was surprised about a few other things too. Firstly she noted that there was a new person here, and it wasn't the supposed new person who had interrupted the session the day before, who Cassidy had already forgotten in name, instead it was a charming, goofy looking boy who resembled Christian, he had dark brown curly hair and a wide toothy grin. There was a dog sitting at his feet and he seemed to be talking with Bloom and Charlie. Was this a new instructor? How quaint for there to be so many changes. Cassidy scanned the room for other peculiarities as she waited for the time to start. She quickly saw lots of familiar faces and groupings, though noticeable disappearances were Finn and Blair. She smiled at Griffon, Fable and Aya who were all still together, and then her eyes stopped on Shay. What the hell is she doing here? Cas thought with surprise, as she looked at the girl who was currently standing next to Christian. Next to Christian, Shay looked like a mouse next to a lion. Her body looked pale and frail, her skin was the same shade as white chalk, and her demeanour seemed fallen. Cas thought back to that night she had spent with Shay over a week ago, how exciting it had been to be with her, to share in a fun experience of joy and relatable pain. How they had explored and enjoyed without worry, both having been drunk and high at the time. Cassidy felt a genuine pang in her heart as she looked at her, this girl looked very different to the one she had enjoyed the night with. However, it was very ballsy for her to be here now, and Cassidy licked her lips to moisten them as she felt an interesting feeling that she almost never felt for others. Concern. She wanted to know how Shay was. She hadn't spoken or seen her in over a week, in fact if Cassidy didn't know better she would believe that Shay was avoiding her. She had happily ignored her existence, not because she didn't care or didn't want to be around her, but because she was fine enough with what she was doing, that she wasn't going to frustrate Shay by trying to be around her when she clearly wanted distance. She was curious as to the reasonings though, she was certain it wasn't because they'd had a bad time, in fact she rather believed it might have been because they had a good time. She sighed softly, turning instead to look around, noticing that Ghost was here too, which was unusual considering that he was no longer employed as a trainer. She couldn't' say that she was upset however, as she was quite happy to see him here. The last thing her eyes were drawn to was the board that held the names of who was versing whom. Her eyes scanned the names, firstly seeing that Griffon would be against Briony. She felt a bit of worry as she glanced at the lovely looking Avalon girl. There was a good likelihood of Briony beating Griffon, but at the same time, Griffon had skills that he himself didn't even know about. Then she saw that Aya was versing Thorn and she felt good, Aya should beat Thorn. Lastly she checked beside her own name, and felt a small chuckle as she saw who she was up against. Fable. This would be interesting.
