Almost dying sucks, I know that first hand. But surviving is always a fun time. I know this, Kaedi'ae knows this too.

For a time, got tired of having foreigners treat me like I'm an asshole...

So I came home to work as a bouncer and have nationals treat me like I'm an asshole instead.

These days I just pay my bills and enjoy my free time.
Ah, the life of a bouncer. I enjoyed that for all of three days once, back in my halcyon days.

Amazing how quickly you lose interest in the job when someone tries to shove a broken bottle in your stomach for no reason

Brother, you have my sympathies. Truly.

I will joke about Maines being crayon eating knuckle dragging apes. But I mean it in the nicest brotherly fashion. You're my kind of asshole.

And to bambi....

I am so sorry you found that corner of the internet.

I will make comments about eating crayons, too. Having worked with jarheads during my time in the army I can't promise I'll always be joking, though. :D

Well that's understandable. You're a true knuckle dragger, being Army. 😋 I have to look after of Jar-head brethren, otherwise he would eat his own boot. 😋

They're better then they were. The beef stew is (and still is) my favorite. The MRE's are so much better then they were even a few years ago.

Huh. They were pretty damned unpleasant when I was in. You could eat them if you had to, but enjoyment definitely wasn't on the menu.
(Except for that one guy. Every unit has that one guy...)

I might be that one guy then. I have yet to run into the MRE I can't eat. Though there are a few I don't like. Like the chicken fajita. That is not my fav.

Army guys aren't bad, it's just like doing chores with a younger sibling. You know you're gonna do all the heavy lifting, but at least they feel good participating

That is true. But at least they're not the ones breaking the thing you're trying to fix. They at least get the cookie for trying.

Hey, so anyone else ever wish someone would go about and show the side of the Imperials that actually helped people? You know, the side that has the active military presence and willingness to get their hands dirty that winds up saving lives and protecting people. There is a reason they maintained control for so long.

I think the 20 mile long star destroyers had more to do with that than any altruism. They were good to their people, though. (Keeping in mind that they only considered pure strain humans to be "people".)

Well, a chunk of tyhem did, but Thrawn's a great example that it ultimately wasn't a full and whole viewpoint.

Thrawn was the exception that proved the rule, and even he only got away with it because he was half-human and a tactical and strategic genius of unwavering loyalty.
Remember, SW is a very black and white universe. Imperials were nazis and aliens were untermensch, plain and simple. Just because Hitler had a jewish doctor, that doesn't take away from how the rest were treated.
