I went for an elf, but he doesn't really use magic. He just comes from a place of magic origin. Oh, i think I have a picture of him instead of a description. Want a picture to make it easier?

If you could include a picture that would be lovely, though the written description is welcome in addition. And you're aware you have to also include a human soldier, right? Just making sure.

Sorry if there's confusion, friends. I tried my best to clarify in the interest check. The Character Sheet thread reiterates. One human soldier is required of everyone, fantasy creatures are character number two. Can be equally as important, but when we begin we'll be writing as the soldier's branching out into this new world, and then meeting the fantasy characters and helping them with their problems.

My preference would be anime first (cause I already got a FC) with realistic art a very close second.

I'm available for brainstorming as well. Photo girl (no name yet ) could be a big sister maybe. Despite only being a First Lieutenant and slightly inexperienced, she did finish her degree before commissioning so she's probably around 24-26 years old. That's plenty of room for a sibling that enlisted before or after she joined up. Or even a sibling older than her that's been in for a while now. Doesn't have to be family though. Someone could have graduated from the same Academy flight (or brother flight) as her. Maybe someone wants to be an ex. I guess I'm open to pretty much any sort of connection if that's what you're looking for.

As far as general character ideas, I can't help much past advising on what roles a squad would typically have. As far as command structure goes you would have a commanding officer, an NCOIC, and several lower ranking enlisted. As far as roles go you definitely would have (circumstances permitting) a communications specialist (techie that maintain squad electronic equipment, calls in CAS, artillery, medevacs, sat-nav, etc.), marksman (the sniper and scout role), field medic (self explanatory) and riflemen (grunts, but being a recon squad they would be special ops grunts, ). Aside from those core roles you could also have a local informant (knows the culture, can translate, and has native contacts), a demolitions specialist (ever wonder what four bricks of plastique can do to a iron castle gate?), transport specialist (you drive trucks real good...and can fix them...), support (you sucked as shooting really accurately so they gave you a fully automatic box mag LMG to lay down suppressive fire but you also would be the one with the bazooka or grenade launcher), and in rare instances you might have an engineer (in case you need a secret bridge somewhere overnight across a flooded river for a surprise buttzkreig).

Hopefully something there can give you some inspiration.

to everyone else these are all acceptable roles/titles to have for your soldiers that I failed to list on the character sheets so, go for it! Just keep it balanced is all I ask. Don't want anyone running around just flattening empires with an RPG. x)

Take your time, guys, I'm in the process of moving to California for a while so I'll be all over the place next week or two, trying to settle in somehow. It probably will not start until then so I'd say you all have a week to adjust characters or, if you're done, build friendships here! Romance is welcome, but please don't focus on it. Takes away from the story. (:
