Fantasy Descendants of the Curse

Gaston immediately retracted the glowing purple sparks as she touched him, worrying that he would cause her harm if he continued the way he was.
The more she spoke the more he wished she was right and that what she said was true but the more she spoke the less faith he had as well.
He had screwed up royally. How was he to take this all back? How was he to avoid scandal now?
He pressed his palms gently to her cheeks and kissed her forehead as he had before. He didn't dare say word as he was sure it would only end up being a testimony of how much trouble they had gotten themselves into.

Phiona could feel tears welling up in her eyes as he did not speak. "It will be fine, we will be fine." she tried to comfort herself closing her eyes as he kissed her forehead. But his lack of words only made her feel worse. She should have never have come here, and once here she should have just done as Gaston said and stayed in here for the night but she didn't and now their relationship would to pay the price. "Please say something..." She begged her small body trembling with worry at what she has done.

"It will be fine."
Gaston echoed quietly at her pleading and rested his forehead against hers, drawing her closer to him and linking his arms around her gently.

Phiona nodded at his words though she knew he was only humoring her. "What a world we live in...." She whispered wiping away her tears then hugged herself closer to him. "Until this all blows over we could meet in secret." She softly suggested trying to steady her heart. It was one of the main reasons why she hadn't wanted to be his mistress, she did not like secrecy but it was now one of the only ways for them to be together.

Gaston tangled his fingers in her hair and pressed her close to his chest, happy to hold her close and safe.
Safe.
That's all he really wanted for her was to be safe and happy with him and already that plan slowly sliding down the drain. How could he possibly keep her safe and close if he couldn't even speak to her unless it was in the shadows or behind closed doors?
"I know that isn't what you want, but it may be all we can do."

"Well we had been fairly good at it so far." She said looking up at him with a half hearted attempt at a smile as she nestled into his chest. "You just have to keep from making a scene of it." She muttered remembering Jacques's surprise when he found out about them at the annulment.

"Me? Cause a scene?" Gaston chuckled lightly as he lifted her chin with a hooked index finger.
"Little flower if I do recall you've been causing the scenes around here."

"Don't remind me." Phiona sighed moving his hand from her chin to her lips gently kissing his knuckles. "I never actually thanked you for keeping me from going to court." She said looking up at him and lowering their hands but still holding it. "So thank you, my knight in shining armor." She whispered with a soft smile leaning forward and sweetly kissing his cheek.

"My dear little flower, well I suppose If I'm to be a knight-- princess if you will," Gaston smiled gently and turned his cheek, pressing a kiss to her cheek as well,"do I not deserve some sort of token of appreciation?"

Phiona chuckled sweetly, blushing softly when he kissed her cheek. "I'm afraid I don't have much to offer, my good knight, but I will try my best to supply you with whatever token you require." She smirked enjoying the change in mood.

"Well," Gaston sighed in faux exasperation,"I do believe I was promised a kiss."
Then Gaston looked at Phiona up and down then before again sighing, this time with quiet exhaustion as he took in her tattered robes and disheveled hair to it's full extent.
"However, I'd like to get you cleaned up first and have you in bed before any of those sort of shenanigans take place."
Gaston stood then and grabbed his bed shirt from the back of the chair and handing it over to her.
"The bath is just over through those doors. Use whatever you'd like. I'll have the bed ready for you."

Phiona's lips curled up into a smirk, surprised that he remembered her promise. Though she did hesitate when he mentioned in bed and shenanigans in the same sentence, but this time she did not over react as she had last time. Instead she nodded taking Gaston's bed shirt and headed to the other room to take a bath. She knew it didn't take that long to make up a bed and that Gaston was waiting for her so she quickly bathed herself detangling her hair as best she could. Ten minutes later she was out and toweling herself as dry as she could then was quickly changed into his shirt and walked back into his room her hair slightly damp and her cheeks red from embarrassment as his bed shirt was much shorter than any dress she had ever worn and left her legs quite exposed.

Gaston was at the other end of his room arranging a pillow to fit comfortably in the crook of his arm chair without much success.
The bed however was well made, the comforter tucked up around the pillows and one curtain drawn around the side of the large oak bed to allow her some privacy.
He remained facing both the arm chair and the wall as he thought perhaps she'd be embarrassed if he were to look at her.
"I'll wait until you're in bed to get myself settled, that way you can have your privacy."

"Thank you Gaston." She she her voice more timid that she ment for it to be. "You know you don't have to do this." She said quitely as she looked at his chair though it would be comfortable for a person of her size she knew it wouldn't be for a man built like Gaston, and it made her feel guilty. He was always doing so much for her and yet she hardly ever paid him back. "You don't have to sleep on the chair.....You can sleep in the bed," she swallowed hard again biting her lip nervously, never before had she though she would be saying such words. "with me." She finished her cheeks a vibrant pink as she stood there behind him, she trusted him not to try anything with out her consent, but that wasn't what made her nervouse, in truth she didn't know if she could trust herself to not give in.

Gaston raised an eyebrow but then nodded slowly. He'd much rather not sleep on the chair, he just hoped that she'd be comfortable with this.
He stepped quietly across the room, his extra pillow and blanket in tow and slid into bed, pulling the covers up around his shoulders and staying to the far edge of the bed so she would have as much room as possible.

Phiona followed him into bed quickly slipping into the other side of the bed now more comfortable with her legs covered. Though there was practically enough room for a whole person in between them. "This is your bed, you can take up as much room as you want." She said not wanting him to be uncomfortable, she only hoped he wouldn't take that as an in invitation to kick her out of the bed.

He'd never considered himself an awkward sort of person but at this point it was looking more and more as if he were. He carefully scooted closer to the middle of the bed all the while debating if he should turn around or not. He decided against it and lay quietly then, his eyes examining her freshly washed face and damp hair as it rested against his pillows.
He remembered looking at Mary this way, more than once, but now it was as if it had always been Phiona in his mind. Her dark raven curls pooled like an ink blot across the white of his sheets, a stark contrast that drew his eyes from a curled strand to her irises that were so brown it was as if dark, rich, chocolate had been poured to create such fantastic irises. She was a luxury like dark, dark ink and chocolate. He wished desperately to have and hold and keep her and yet-- it was as if she remained mere inches away at all times, literally and figuratively.

Phiona noticed the way Gaston was watching her and it gave her butterflies in her stomach. There were many things she wanted to say to him in this moment but at the same time she just wanted to relish in the silence between the two of them. It was almost like the forshadowing to the future of their relationship, silent even when it was just the two of them. She knew keeping this a secret would be hard but she knew Gaston was more than worth it. Slowly she reached a hand up from under the blankets and caressed his cheek feeling the bristles from his growing beard and she smiled softly up at him, not saying a word but instead letting her eyes tell him of how much she trully cared for him.

"You make me feel so alive and new and yet having you so close and not close enough at the same time... you'll be the death of me Phiona."
Gaston sighed deeply, his eyelids lowering minimally across his ember coloured eyes, his lashes casting long lining shadows in the dim light of the bedroom.
"I convince myself it's only wanting and then in times like this I can't help but feel that I need you. You are absolutely irresistible in every way."
He spoke so softly and was nearly breathless as he watched her and felt the touch of her fingertips, her palm against his cheek.
It was such a condridicting feeling being unable to love her like he so wanted to and yet her being here was almost how it seemed it was meant to be.

"I feel the same." Phiona whispered as she admired his every feature. Everyday was a struggle to fight back temptation and be lady like and virtuous, yet the closer they got both physically and emotionally the harder it was to resist him. "That is why I so often leave early when we are together, because I want to be with you, but the more time we spend together the more that want becomes a need." She whispered leaning in closer to him her hand slipping from his cheek combing through his soft locks.

"You've stayed late this time." he murmered as his palm cupped her waist, the other reaching up to push past a lock of her hair, his mouth moving ever nearer to hers.
"I need to kiss you, Phiona."
His words were hardly a whisper now and were so soft and so very quiet that if spoken next to a candle the flame would very well remain lit.

"Then kiss me." She replied breathlessly her heart racing in her chest as she remembered all the times she had dreamed of this moment, wanted it everytime they were together, fantasized about the taste and feel of his lips against her's only to push away those feelings in order to seem like a proper young lady. Though now, now she didn't care, now she cast away those worries in order to satisfy this desperate need.

He was hesitant at first and then not at all. She had asked and he had obliged, it was an exchange and was not at all forced upon her unlike the kiss she had received earlier that evening.
His mouth met hers, a gentle collision of lips as he finally tasted, Phiona.

Phiona closed her eyes as their lips finally met savouring every second of it. It was unlike anything she had ever experienced sending chills of pleasure down her spine. This was what a kiss was supposed to be, and as she kissed him back she knew that this was what love was. But alas a time when she had to pull away and catch her breath. "We shouldn't have done that." She whispered looking up at him. "For now I don't know if I will be able to stand being without it." She smirked teasingly.

"You'll have to, all this secrecy will allow very little of that to happen little flower, after all you are engaged to my son."
Gaston teased her gently with a small grin, his hand smoothing the wrinkling night shirt that clung loosely to her slender hips.
