Fantasy Descendants of the Curse

"I was making sure we had enough supplies for a feast tomorrow." Ash said knowingly then sat next to Vivian on their bed, he could clearly see her frustration. "How are you feeling?" He asked deciding not to ask anything that would get her more mad at him, only to realize what he asked her.

Fredric gulped hard knowing if he tried to leave Apollo would attack him, and as a thought of Apollo dragging him by his throat came into mind Fredric quickly got his cart moving to follow Apollo. He didn't like this. He didn't like any of this, but hey, on the bright side he might be able to see Amber before Apollo killed him.

"Good, good! I can distract dad and you get mom." She said with an excited smile to Jamison then turned to Fea frowning as she ran off. "Wait! Come back!" She cried running after her mother.

"Fae! Come back!" Jamison chased after her along with his sister. Why was she so concerned about their Uncle? and Mar? Mar what or who? Maybe that was the name of the dog that followed her in. Only explanation for that. "Our mom is in the other direction! Our grandparents are that way and you don't want to run into them!"

Donahue walked back to Thea's room avoiding as much eye contact with her as possible. To say he was mad was an understatement infact he was beyond furious. Especially with how all she had to say for herself was that she was stupid. Agh! He wanted to yell at her for this, but found he couldn't bring himself to do it, not now at least, there had already been so much violence. Besides yelling at her might only push her farther away. So instead he sat in the same chair Valac had and looked up at Thea, not saying anything for a moment then he looked up at her, anger clear on his face. "Without telling me about being stupid or that it was just a crush, tell me why him. Why the weakest most pathetic member of the pack and should be omega? Why were you so eager to push me aside for him?!" His voice broke and he recollected himself. "No excuses, just the truth."

Thea stuttered and she sat on the edge of her bed. Squeezing her hands tightly together and biting down hard on her trembling lip. What could she say? What would she possibly say that could make this alright with her and Don?

She would tell him the truth, and hopefully, maybe, it would be good enough.

"Donahue... I just- I've always felt forced and pushed into everything. Into leaving my pack, into coming here, into being nothing but Sabella's side kick and it feels like I'm being pushed into this union. Our mating. I'm sorry. It's just how I feel and Valac... I thought he was stronger than he looked that maybe what Sabella lacked in compassion he made up for and what he lacked in strength Sabella had. I though he was an alpha, a good wolf and an even better man. But these were all false hopes."

Don carefully nodded thinking over what she said. It was ridiculous of her to think Valac could ever be an Alpha on anything but a pack of dust bunnies, but he wasn't going to say anything about that. "I understand." He muttered a reply and stood, "I don't want you to feel forced into anything." He said finally looking up at her his sad green eyes meeting her's. "We can put off our union as long as you want... I just want you to know I love you, and that this only irked me so much because I can't imagine my life with anyone else but you," he said softly kneeling before her and taking her hands. "and then to imagine you with someone else..." His voice trailed off and he laid his head on her lap his dark curls coming down over his face. Without saying the words his entire being was begging her to stay with him and not leave him.

He had admired her since he joined this lack and so far everything he had done was for her. She was a delicate blossom in a world of thrones and weeds, no other shewolf he met was like her. Her soft skin, her sweet scent, her beautiful eyes and figure...

So he found he wasn't mad at her anymore, instead he found himself staring up at her in admiration

"Fae? What are you doing?" Marius looked up at her as she came running down the hall. "Malcom and Belladonna are taking care of Ben right now. He's going to be fine but we probably shouldn't distrurb them." He stretched out his legs. These hard wood floors were always so painful to lay on. "If you need anything I'm sure Mary can help you right now...or one of your little friends."

"A feast? Who put that idea in that wild mind of yours?"

Vivian cocked her eyebrow and scrubbed her slender fingers through her shorn hair. Frustrated didn't even cover how she felt now. A feast? When they had just gotten back on their feet and he wanted to deplete their supplies further?

Only one person would think so selfishly.

"Artemis is so bored with her tedious duties of lounging about that she needs a party?"

Vivian asked coolly. Standing now, the air, cold and crisp, on her bare skin cause goose flesh to raise across her arms, legs and breasts. She stooped low and dug through a trunk, tugging a book from it's jumbled contents before crawling back into bed, beneath the furs.

"Ben is going to be alright though? Isn't he?"

Fae squatted down to whisper to Marius and scratched behind his ears. She would be lying to say she wasn't scared that Ben could very well die. He had looked absolutely horrible as the witches had dragged him into the healing rooms. She couldn't image Marius without Ben or Ben without Marius. Or Fae without one or the other.

Apollo had lead Fredrick through thick brush and wood until finally they came to a worn path one that cut through ferns and bramble and then finally came to a massive outcropping of rocks that were stacked and arched haphazardly to create and somewhat man sized arch. Apollo loped through easily in his wolf form. He barked and howled in greeting, shaking out his ruff. Shifting and standing to his full height now, the alpha was bombarded by his pack members and asked question after question about his meeting with the rival alpha.

"Enough! Enough!" Apollo hushed them all briskly,"where is my mate? My pups?"

Thea sighed softly and stroked his dark hair back. Tangling her soft, uncalloused and unworked fingers in his perfectly twisted locks, she leaned forward to press a kiss to his forhead.

"Soon. That's all I will say. Soon we will be mates and joined together forever. I promise."

"Yes, Ben is going to be alright. I've been sitting and listening for a while and it sounds like his condition is improving already. All he has is a nasty case of the flu. Nothing they cannot handle." He reassured her. Leaning gently into her hand as she scratched behind his ears. "Even if I have to talk to them myself I'll make sure they do everything they can. Okay?" He gave her the best smile he could in his wolven form.

Ash frowned watching her get up. "Artemis had nothing to do with this idea, it was entirely mine." He said turning to her as she got back into bed. "I thought now that we have more security, everyone could use a break from all this worrying and finally get a good meal in their bellies." He said taking her hand and kissing the back of her knuckles. "We have not had one since the pups were infants, and now they will soon be off having pups of their own. They need to learn what a good time is, they need to learn being in this pack isn't only suffering. They need to know of good times too."

Unwillingly Fredric followed having to stop as his cart got stuck multiply times, eventually giving up and taking a few pouches of his goods and awkwardly followed Apollo through the woods. He was relieved when they stopped but only for a second before his heart was stilled in fear. There were many more wolves here than he anticipated. He was going to die here, there was no question about it. Apollo would tear him apart and his demon offspring would just laugh as the life left poor Fredric's body.

"Here." Amber said as she emerged from the den her two pups flanking her until they saw their father. "Papa!" They cried out laughing as they sprinted and jumped onto their father. "Boys." Amber chided as she walked down to Apollo only to stop as she saw Fredric.

He was here, he was really here. He looked so different, he had certainly matured since she saw him last. Any boyish features he had were gone now replaced with the features of someone who had been thourgh much more than one person should in a lifetime. The only thing of old Fredric she could recognize was the look of dumbfoundedness that was on his face.

"Pups..." Fredric muttered flustered looking at Apollo's childern in surprise, they were real. He had so much hope Amber wouldn't give that bastard Apollo any offspring, that their child would be the only one she had, he knew that was ridiculous, but it didn't take away from the pain of seeing how happy she was with those two little boys. It made a flame of jealousy burn in his heart that was slowly growing bigger. That should be their daughter laughing with her mother, not those hell spawn.

"Why is he here?" Amber asked Apollo curiously as she picked up one of her wiggling pups, and met Fredric's gaze surprised to see anger in it.

Donahue shook his head, his hands slowly wrapping around her pulling her closer to him. He inhaled deeply taking in her scent and sighing. He wanted to believe her, really he did, but deep down his trust in her was broken, he needed to know this wouldn't come back to stab him in the end. "How can I trust that? You promised you would love only me but then you break that promise and cast me and everything I've done for you aside in a matter of seconds." He looked up at her, looking deep into her eyes. "How can I know this promise won't be broken?" He asked standing, picking her up off the ground as he did so. His wolf was not satisfied with another promise. It needed a guarantee Thea would be his. His eyes glowing he carried Thea over to her bed and set her on it unceremoniously. "Prove you won't betray me, prove you will be mine." His wolf said with a hungry look in his eyes.

"Fae....who are you talking to?" Jamison asked curiously as he approached her. He couldn't catch much of her conversation but she could tell she was speaking with someone. About Ben? That's the only word he picked up out of everything she said...and the other voice too. At first he thought it was her talking to herself but it was far to deep for that to be remotely possible.

Fae nodded and then hugged Marius around his great furry neck tightly, nuzzling her face into his ruff. However at the sound of Jamison's voice she pulled away quickly and stumbled to her feet, brushing off your dress as she did so, black hairs sticking to the fabric.

"Me? Who am I talking to?" She looked around hoping he had been speaking to someone else. She panicked when she saw no one and quickly dismissed whatever he had said.

"No one!"

"Off having their own pups?"

Vivian snorted and shook her head, a small smile on her lips. Ash really could be quite thick at even the best of times.

"Sabella has practically sworn to ramain alone while Valac shows no interest in any of the females we have here in the pack. How are either them to have pups without mates?"

The alpha female cracked open her book, flipping through the pages until she had found the correct one.

Apollo scooped up his sons, laughing as he set them up on his shoulders, giggling and tugging at their father's unruly copper hair.

"Now, Amber, we must be hospitable to our guest. After all, I've asked him to come show us some of his merchandise. Our rival pack has been very interested in his magic tinker toys and I for one would like to see what the big deal is."

He went to Amber, standing at her side and pressed a kiss to her temple before setting each of the twins down at their feet where they now poked at eachother. Apollo gently tutted them and swatted at their small hands.

Thea was surprised to say the least as Donahue had scooped her up and say her on the bed. He loomed over her, he was so tall and lean, so muscular compared to her petite build, her curves and softness.

She had never seen him like this before, hungry, not like he hunted but similar. He wanted her. The want was unbearable and she could see it within him, stirring and needy.

Her heart leapt and she leaned forward, her hands resting on his broad shoulders to stop her fingers from trembling.

"What would you have me do?" The shewolf asked softly, her lips mere inches from his.

Ash was about to remind her of his other pups but thought better of it as he then remembered he did not share those pups with Vivian. "I suppose your right, but-" He replied giving her a small smile, glad to see she was in a better mood. "There is that little wolf girl who has shown some interest in Valac, even if she already is set aside for another it will be interesting to see how that plays out." He chuckled putting his arm around his wife.

Amber frowned at Apollo not liking it, but turned her attention to Fredric when he started talking. "They are not toys they are objects of magic, that need to be taken seriously." He snapped at Apollo, not likening all the wolves around him, he wanted to get this done and over with. "You want to see what they do? Fine, but I'm going to need a volunteer. " he said with a small smirk looking at Apollo.

"So I've been told." Valac replied limping with Sabella's help back to the den. "She started it, yet when Donahue came no one would even listen to me. Even you!" He said looking up at Sabella. "You told me she liked me, yet you didn't tell me she was with Donahue of all people!"
