Fantasy Demetrix Academy

Margo got her room assignment and sighed. A roommate? She had never had to share a room in her life. She sighed and followed the crowd of people to what she guessed much be the dorm rooms. She got to her room and immediately began unpacking, but decided to let her roommate have the better bed by the window with the view. She could be considerate when she wanted to be. When she finished unpacking she opened the dorm door, inviting any passerbys a look and hoping to illicit conversation. She began playing with her reflection, wanting to see how best to allow people to see her this first day. It was always interesting, how different people reacted to different auras she put out.

Lace began walking towards what seemed to be his side of the room and began to neatly remove what he had brought and set the folded pieces of clothing on the edge of his bed. He didn't quite mind the mess as long as the figure now beside him was going to pick it up, about to ask for his name it seemed the teen beat him to it and asked one of his own questions. To which he turned around his unreadable eyes inspecting the male for a moment observing him before answering,

"It's the marking of my family, if you don't know about them then there is no need to tell you." Was all he said before pointing a lazy finger at the torn cloth in his Xobics arms curiously.

"How'd you do that? Where they to small?"

"it fit just right the right size but no matter what I can just rip a shirt easily don't worry I'm almost done cleaning it up and I do not know anything about your family because I live on a mountain disconnected from the world below and will not push on it any further".He started to cleaned the mess again when he got done he grabbed his only book and started reading it the book look old and worn.

Lace was pleasantly surprised by the boys words especially on the topic of his family. It was nice and perhaps he wouldn't mind spending a year in the same room as the boy. Well in the case that he won't end up being a fool who sees himself as a better individual. Then he wouldn't be able to deal with such a case, he returned to his baggage putting all of his belongings away fairly neatly each item having a place. As Sage laid on his pillow watching him closely until he took a seat on the edge of his bed removing his cap and setting it atop a shelf.

"That book, do you mind telling me about it?" Lace questioned unable to hold in his curiosity.

"oh this old thing this is a book I found it helped me learn earth magic I found it when I found Shasha my pet roc".Nobody has asked him about this before they usually ask why you look so old and how did you get so strong but nothing else about him.

Margo sighed and grew bored, waiting for her new roommate. She could always meet her later, they would be living together for a full year anyway. She stood and looked around her room, settling on her appearance as neat, yet not with much makeup. She put on the school uniform and ran a finger through her loose curls, staring out the window. She was restless, overly so, and had heard from her brother that people often threw parties in the woods outside the school. He had been a party god before he graduated and Margo came along, and Margo suddenly found she wanted to live up to the legacy her brother set. She looked through her belongings and found her stereo and smart phone with all her music. She had unpacked her food into the mini fridge, and in all her Snapple bottles were certain mixed drinks. It would be enough, and one of these people must be able to do SOMETHING cool, right? She wanted to get to know her classmates, because they somehow made her feel okay with who she was. She scrawled on a bunch of little notes, then began passing them under all the dorm doors she could find.

The notes read In the woods, after dark, wait for the signal, the bright red spark. Care to come, meet us all, I promise you will have a ball! -M

She grinned, satisfied with herself, then went to her room to finish preparations.

Lace was once again pulled into the idea of magic and held himself back from leaning forward instead sitting up straight with great posture as he was before.

"Oh so you know Earth magic," he repeated with a small nod of understanding before eyeing the roc,

"Shasha," he stated the name, "she is beautiful a great sight to behold." Lace complimented as Sage strutted over to him and curled up into a ball beside his thigh her three tails tapping the bed silently as she slowly fell to sleep.

"yeah that's right and I know what you thinking why is a brute like me know magic if he can just punch everything to death I just got curious".He looked at Lace pet"yours is too"he saw a piece of paper underneath the door he got up and grabbed it and start to read what the content said out loud so his roommate can hear."In the woods, after dark, wait for the signal, the bright red spark. Care to come, meet us all, I promise you will have a ball! -M.Why after dark?"

Lace when the boy wasn't looking allowed himself to smirk a bit but once he was in view once more he whipped all emotion from his expression. Xobic didn't act as he had expected him to, it was odd everyone here seemed kind and forgiving unlike the people who he had lived with for so long. About to thank the blonde for complimenting Sage he was interrupted by the reading of a note standing up and making his way over without sound naturally he attempted to see the note for himself. His tail coat swaying behind him,

"I believe the real question is Why in general. Do you know this M?"

Margo gathered up the few belongings, deciding less was more and would make it easier for her to slip out unnoticed. She made sure that to the naked eye she was unseen, and easily slipped through a crack in the wall around the school. She walked about a quarter mile into the woods before she began setting up. She put her speakers in the branches, and decided to play herself some music while she waited, a little Regina Spektor to calm her soul. She never understood why, but whenever she listened to music, really listened, she felt she could feel what the artist felt. She wasn't sure if it was normal, or if it was associated with her weird, unexplored powers. But she felt it, and maybe that was why she liked Regina so much. A lot of her early music was clearly affected by drugs, and she could get the high without the bad stuff. She hummed along and reclined against a tree, stretching and closing her eyes to the odd beats.

Kira had almost fallen asleep when the note came to her door. The bed was soft, so much better then any she had slept in before. Orphanages weren't known for their comfort. But when a noise came to her door, she instantly sat up, making no noise. She was too used to people trying to sneak into her room. However, when she realized that only a note had been slipped under her door, she got up and reading. "Hmm..." Turning to Shadow, she grinned. "What do you think, should we go?" He meowed enthusiastically and she laughed, her mind already racing to the night.

"No I do not know who this M is the only way to figure that out is go".He gave him the note and walk over to Shasha and started to pet her."It is just weird I don't think I will go I do not need to break my routine".

Lace eyed the man before reading over the words quietly to himself, easily memorising them like a safe code before placing it on a desks surface.

"Well I believe I'll go," he stated un surly as if he had just made that decision as he spoke.

"There's still a bit of time before nightfall so you have that amount of time to decide whether or not you'd like go it seems." With his slender fingers he ran them through his purple locks quietly before returning to his bed.

"And what routine?"

"my everyday training routine I must be always ready for battle just in case anything attack me".He returning to his bed and started to think if he should go now.He was quite curious what it would be"okay I'll check it out and come back that's all I can probably find a place now if I wanted too"

Laces assumptions where proven to be correct, having believed the surprisingly teenage boy was speaking of his physical work schedule.

"How is your stamina? And speed?" He questioned always open for the idea of learning either the strengths or weaknesses of perhaps an opponent. But he was partly relieved to hear he wouldn't be walking into such a suspicious unite alone.

"My stamina it would take a lot to bring me down or get me tired my speed is slow but you know what they say the bigger the object is the longer they run the fast do they go the harder they hit".He lay down in bed and start reading his book again

Lace nodded to show his understanding on the topic before standing quietly and retrieving his hat from beside him before placing it atop his head. And as if Sage was aware of his thoughts she began to stretch beside him before skillfully pouncing from the edge of the bed and onto his right shoulder wrapping her tails around the back of his head.

"I'm going for a stroll I'll be back before we must leave." He informed Xobic before leaving the dorm and beginning down the corridor not quite having a destination.

Xobic nodded"see you when you get back then"he got up from the bed and he wait till he was out of sight thin he leave the dorm with Shasha"we're just going to go for a little fly".When they got outside he got on Shasha and took to the sky and flew over the Forest.

Kira was tired of waiting in her room. Deciding that her dorm mate was simply late, she picked up Shadow in her arms and stepped outside her dorm, deciding to go for a walk. She was occupying herself with staring out the windows when suddenly Shadow yowled and launched himself out of her arms. "Shadow!" She cried out, scrambling after him. They raced through the halls until he came to a sudden stop, Kira skidding after him. "Shadow!" She scolded him breathlessly before looking up and gasping when she saw Lace and Sage standing before her. "A-ah, I'm sorry." She quickly apologized while Shadow simply meowed a welcome, seemingly proud of himself.

Lace stepped through the halls quietly, the mass amount of students which had been occupying the area having fallen thin the sight of students growing more scarce. He lifted a hand and yawned into it softly when suddenly a small familiar kitten followed by the now exhausted Kira appeared beside him. He wasn't really shocked by the sudden appearance but more by the fact that the feline seemed to have ran towards him willingly. When the black haired female apologized much like when they first met he waved it away and spoke,

"It's fine, you've got a smart animal. Good sense," he complimented having halted he awaited the girl to catch her breath.

"So are you going somewhere or simply chasing after Shadow?"

Xobic was flying over the Forest when he heard a strange noise from below"what is that strange sound Shasha down girl".They landed right beside Margo"hey are you the one hosting this thang and what is with that strange sound"he look toward the gril and waiting for a answer

Kira kept taking deep breaths, her mind racing to figure out what was the best answer to his question. Sighing, she gave up and smiled at Lace. "Just following Shadow. I guess he smelled you guys and wanted to meet you again." She raised her hand to Sage and gave the feline a quick rub before glancing back at Lace. "Were you going anywhere in particular? I hope I didn't interrupt anything."

Lace readjusted his hat before positioning himself so he faced the girl his hands slipped into his pockets.

"I'll remind myself to take a shower when I get back," he spoke not quite intending it to be a joke but as a real statement a bit naive from never really interacting with people using words.

"I was just passing the time before Nightfall myself and my dorm ate received a note to meet in the woods." Lace informed the girl not quite seeing the harm in doing so.

"Oh! So did I!" Kira said, an excited smile slipping onto her face at the thought of nighttime. "So you got it too? I wonder if it was sent around to all the students..." She murmured, turning the puzzle over in her mind. Eventually deciding it wasn't worth the trouble, she shook her head and looked at Lace once more. "So do you want to go to the forest then? its almost night time by now and I'd like to see the place before darkness falls." She didn't mention the fact that she could see in the dark perfectly, still not sure if she could completely trust the boy at her side.

Margo jumped and stared at the person ahead of her, then laughed. "Yes, I am. And you are?" She said, standing up and dusting the leaves off herself. "I must have dozed. It is about time to alert everyone to come out of hiding." She grinned, stretchign up and grabbing a branch and swinging herself up. She climbed as high as she could, then made it so she appeared to be a giant ball of flaming red for about a minute before jumping down again. "Sorry. I'm Margo." She said, holding her hand out.
