Fantasy Death Inc.

Alora followed everyone out of the room, waving to the Fates as she left the room. Alora kept a few feet behind everyone at they walked to wherever Matthia's was leading them. It wasn't till now that Alora had remembered her weapon, she had completely lost thought of it when worrying about her bunny and learning about all the different types of books. Her weapon, a sharply bladed whip, each section of it having their own sharp edges and yet it was easy enough to wrap up and hold on a small belt on her hip without it causing her harm. She had totally forgotten that it was with her till now.

As Matthias took the hit from the unknown woman Alora froze, her body tensing up with a deep fear. She held onto her stuffed rabbit as if holding onto everything she had left, trying to hold back the dark memories of her past. She looked away toward anything but the unknown woman, at least until she came close and spoke to her. Alora looked toward Katerina relaxing as the lady spoke to her in a more sweet manner than when she spoke before. Alora didn't know how to reply, so she just kindly smiled at Katerina, her mind quickly removing the negative memories that had once been there and filling them with her own questions and thoughts once again.
 
Freya looked down at the freshly woven outfit she now wore. The magical thread made a traditional hakama with black trousers and a white blouse. The trousers spelled out "Death Inc" at the bottom edge and she wore traditional tabi socks and plain zori shoes. She was still silent in awe as she followed the group out of the tailor's room. She was only snapped out of her daze by the violent greeting from the unknown woman. As the introductions were being made, Freya patiently waited her turn. "Katerina? That is a pretty name. Is it Russian? My name is Freya. I just wanted it to be known that this is the most amazing thing I have experienced this far." Freya's eyes held a fire in them and her face was alight with excitement. She paid no heed to Matthias grunting and coughing. "Ma'am, are you going to be helping us train as well?" Freya was not doing a very good job at hiding her eagerness.
 
As she continued to walk with the group Haisley wondered who she would fit in with most in the gang, most everyone seemed to fit somewhere specifically the youngest Alora but she couldn't blame the cute one for that it was just natural for people to want to protect her. Those who then feel the need to protect her would bond and bang! A small friendship forms. It was the natural order of things 'so then why am I so jealous?' Haisley shut her eyes as she clapped her hands on her cheeks once more causing her face to mush together a bit and her glasses to fall from the collision, as she bent her knees slowly to pick them up her blond haired head snapped up to see Matthais being attacked in what looked like a very painful place and she couldn't help but let out a large laugh at the occurrence.

Her hands held her stomach a bit as she continued to laugh but she tried her hardest to stop, she was an easy one to amuse after all, it wasn't her fault that her body didn't always listen to what she wanted! Covering her giggling mouth she placed her glasses back on her face so her eyes could a better look at the attacker named Katerina.

"I ship it.." Haisley whispered about the two, her mind working up a storm of ideas about her new found ship because at least now she had something to mull over in her mind during the day, she couldn't help her love for putting people together. The sound of Matthais groaning on the crowd caught her attention as she walked over to where he had been dumped on the ground and squatted down next to him with her hands on her knees, "Matthais? I know it's none of my business but that was the cutest thing ever."
 
Kaine remembered well and clearly how he died. He got lost inside Windfallow Manor and boom, he got attacked by a pack of undead canine things. Yet, he remembered ending his own life. Yep. He stabbed a shard of glass into his own throat. At least he wouldn't get eaten FUCKING ALIVE. He had stayed silent all the while Mathias was making his speech about ghosts and shit. All of this, to Kaine, was newbie class. He had an uncle who was an Elder Lich. The things Mathias had said about ghosts and undead didn't surprise Kaine at all. He had seen more undead creatures than a mortal should. To be honest, Kaine didn't exactly like the idea of being a reaper. He only accepted since he'd get the right to brag in his uncle's face.
In your face Faust. And you were the one to tell me being living was something I should treasure.
Selfish shit. If Kaine had known the benefits of being something not-living, he'd have used Faust's book on himself much sooner. Too bad he never got the chance. First of all, Kaine had noticed his right nostril (which is almost always blocked) wasn't blocked anymore. Secondly, his left eye was just as good as his right. He just felt better than a teenager on crack. He watched as everyone had their uniforms spun by a 'Fate.' She wasn't what he had thought a Fate was though. He quietly leaned against the wall as the last uniform was spun. He didn't have a uniform, and didn't want one. He was perfectly fine with his black jacket and white shirt.

He put his earphones in, and followed Mathias outside, only to be abruptly interrupted by a woman who identified herself as 'Katerina' punch Mathias to the floor.

That must hurt.
He thought to himself. If this was what Mathias had to deal with every day, Kaine geneuinely felt sorry for Mathias. He looked down at the reaper, coughing on the floor, and couldn't help but let a wide grin spread across his face.
Mate, if this is what you have to deal with all day, I legit feel sorry for you.
He said to Mathias, crouching down and prodding him in the nose with a finger.

Katerina almost squealed with excitement when she saw the little girl smile at her. "Awweeee! You are just too precious you know that? I could just pinch your little cheeks You are mine as soon as you finish training okay? Just call me Auntie Kat from now on, m'kay?" She straightened up and patted Alora on the head before moving on to the other recruits.
Stopping in front of Freya, she smiled and shook her head. "I'm afraid not, that is the sole responsibility and privilege of my Mattie over there." She jabbed a thumb at Matthias, who was just starting to come around and push himself up off the floor. When she saw this, Katarina walked over to him and pulled him up to his feet by the collar of his jacket. She smiled down at the young recruit who's comment about Matthias and her's relationship she'd overheard.
"Oh you know it sister. I've had this sweet bit of territory staked out since day one." She said with a colossal wink. She then gave Matthias one last shake. "But he never seems to return my calls." She addressed Matthias directly, sweetly, mockingly, whispered loud enough that everyone could hear. "Now Mattie-poo~ Do your best training the recruits okay? I'll check on you later." With that she slapped her prey on his rear and strode off down the hallway, leaving Matthias shaken and humili to confront his recruits.

Kaine giggled to himself slightly, as the woman slapped Mathias on the rear. He couldn't hear anything though, since his music was at ear-raping levels of loud. In fact, the music was so loud everyone else would hear it as if it were put on through a mobile phone full blast.
Hear that?
He publicly announced to everyone else. He 'booped' Mathias on the nose, with an evil smile.
Mattie-poo here has a Waifu!
He giggled to himself some more, before sitting down on the floor, and opening his phone. Drats, only if Kaine had recorded that. Something he could blackmail Mathias with later... Too bad he missed out on that chance.
Oi, and does anyone know if I can still eat and drink?
He asked everyone there. He couldn't imagine a future without Mountain Dew.

Alora was confused by the whole situation between Matthias and Katerina, the ways she acted with him seemed strange to her, but she just kept holding onto her stuffed rabbit went on with her thoughts. Her mind was racing around in circles as she looked around at the groups she was with. She wasn't sure if she would want to leave the group after training was over, but now she was beginning to wonder if that lady was gonna give her a solid choice in the situation. Alora kept her focus on the ground as she continued on, staying a few steps behind the group like she always does. She then began to think of Katerina's words some more, Alora had never had and aunt before, at least, not from what she could remember. Her mother may have mentioned one when she was very young, but she wasn't sure. The word sounded familiar, but also unknown. Either way, what was and auntie for?
 
Rioko's eyes were closed the entire lecture then she opens them slowly looking around as if everything was a nightmare. The entire tour she kept quiet still processing everything in. She's dead and renewed something she longed for. To be able to live without worry. Once the group arrived to the tailor's room, Rioko observed in awe at how magic was possible here. She felt a sense of relief for praising in death. The snow haired girl reached for her spool being the last one to dress in her choosing of clothing.

A black leather jacket with, white fur on the edges of her hood, black gloves with skeleton hand designed on them as well as a black choker with a cartoon skull as a bell hanging from a small chain of her choker. A black crop top and purple suspenders underneath her jacket revealing her stomach, black jeans and black, leather heel boots.

Once her transformation was complete, Rioko followed the group to their next destination.
 
Matthias cleared his throat, attempted to straighten out his clothes, and put his hair back in order. His feelings towards the Head of Recruiting were extremely mixed. On one hand she was the the most idealized partner he could ever ask for. She she was helpful when he needed it, drop-dead gorgeous, and her attacks were for the most part playful. On the other hand, she seemed to stalk him around the office, enjoyed seeing him flustered, and attacked him with disturbing regularity. How he would recover from this latest incident, which robbed him of any respect the new recruits may have had for him, he did not know.

"T-this way, we n-need to get on with training. Lunch is in an hour and a half and I know how you newbies love to eat." He couldn't keep his voice from cracking.

As the group entered the gymnasium, Matthias took a seat next to what appeared to be a small cannon, next to which, was a massive basket of tennis balls. Composing himself, he picked up one of the fuzzy green balls and tossed it up and down. "Now, the average soul is concentrated in an area about the size of one of these balls. To reap a soul, it must be caught with the bladed edge of a weapon made with Reaper's Steel. You can't shoot it, as the bullet will just pass through. The reaper's tools work because of their connection to you." He patted the small cannon. "To get nice and connected, and to make sure each of you is ready for the chaos of battle, I will be using this souped-up pitching machine to shoot these balls at you with ungodly speed. The drill is over when each of you have cut exactly 100 in half with your weapons." He got up and stood behind the machine, already loaded with a set of balls. "Now everybody, weapons out the drill begins in 10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3.2.1 GO!" With that little warning Matthias opened fire with his weapon of fuzzy doom on the recruits.
 
Freya saw Katerina smack Matthias on the bottom and walk off. For a second, she felt a twang of jealousy. She twirled her jet black hair in her fingers as she tried to shake off that feeling. But she couldn't help but enjoy seeing him speak about a subject he seemed to be an expert in, as well as the small moment of vulnerability that seemed adorable. Freya shook her head and focused on the task at hand. Freya looked around the gymnasium they all walked into, and smirked. "You know, when I think of a training room, I imagine something a little more...formal. Not a high school gym." Freya listened to the explanation of souls and the exercise they were to perform. She fumbled nervously with her dual crescent moon blades. "Matthias, I don't know if you know this, but I have zero experience with combat or using weapons of any kind. I'm not even good at baseball. What makes you think that someone like me would be able to accomplish this??"

Before she knew it, a volley of tennis balls started careening towards her and the other recruits. Freya squeaked and tried to avoid getting hit while she tried to get a firm grasp on her blades. Once they were set, Freya started slashing wildly at the air, trying her best to hit one of the tennis balls. She missed every single time, coming nowhere close to reaping the metaphorical soul. In a frantic panic, Freya accidentally tripped over herself and fell to the ground.

This was too hilarious. Alexander shut his mouth and literally bit his tongue to keep himself from laughing at Matthias. He simply giggled silently as he followed the not so big boss man to the training facility. Alexander smiled at some of the worried souls that he was with. Seven throwing daggers was hidden inside Alexanders coat, he took them all out and began juggling the daggers eager for the the challenge to come. After countless hours of practicing Alexander had fine tuned reaction time and his skill with daggers we're well honed. Though he lacked experience in battle Alexanders body was able to move the way he desired it to move. A green tennis ball beaned him on the head, then another causing him to drop his daggers. With a mad grin Alexander picked up his daggers once again and began juggling once more.

too the dagger, grab the falling one, slice. Alexander cleaved through one of the tennis balls, he chucked three daggers each stabbing into three tennis balls barreling towards him. It was like a dance, similar to a performance he had when he had to doge flaming arrows that where firing at him while he danced to Mozart, except this times it was tennis balls that hit like a high power potato gun. With a twirl of daggers Alexander kept hacking away not entirely sure how many he needed left. He saw one of his comrades fall. he quickly went over to assist her. As soon as he knelt down to help he got beaned on the head.

"Son of a- damn it...are you okay? Get up, try not to focus on all of them too much your blade has more reach should be easier to cut these things than daggers....relax and try not to be too tense you won't be able to react fast enough to dodge much less cut the tennis ball." With out saying anything else he darted away chucking two more daggers to cut two more tennis balls. He slid and grabbed the three daggers he threw earlier and got back to his rhythm of juggling and alternating the daggers as he cut down the green fluff.
 
Haisley nearly choked on her own laughter as Katerina called Matthais by his apparent pet name and smacked his rear so possessively, oh how incredibly cute they both seemed together, even though it didn't look like anything was official yet Haisley could definitely sense some one on one chemistry going on between them. ' Which is why I ship them' she thought in a moment of clarity, she noticed a fellow newbie, also blonde like her but he seemed fairly confident in himself considering the fact that he had just 'booped' their instructor on the nose in front of everyone but Matthais didn't seem to care as he simply brushed him off, she smiled a bit and followed behind him to where they would be training.

Almost like trauma flash backs Haisley shivered at the look at their training gym, nodding her head in agreement of Freya's statement, this place was like high school along with the dead people and sexual harassment it was like a regular Tuesday in Hell, except now it was an unknown day in.. where ever this was Matthais never really went into specifics. Speaking of Hell, Haisley could swear her own had just started once Matthais explained what her training would be, her hands wobbled to the hilt of her two swords, she knew that she might look energetic, heck she'd been called athletic by a stranger! But deep inside she knew that there was nothing more untrue.

" You want me to slice through incredibly fast tennis balls with these? You're talking to the girl who took music all through middle school and skipped gym during high school!"

As the machine switched on it was like a life or death situation to Haisley, this time there was no metal bleachers to hide behind so she tried her best to hold a strong stance and she was pretty sure she'd hit at least one though it didn't slice in half. That only lasted for a few moments though because next thing she knew she had put her hands in front of her face and crouched down low, " this is like some ungodly version of dodgeball!"
 
Rioko blushed at Katerina's flirtatious act with Matthias. 'Wow I didn't think she would do that.' She mutters to herself.

After that scene, Rioko follows the group to a training room where they have been informed about souls and instructed to participate in their first practice which was to cut 100 tennis balls in within an impossible speed? Rioko took out her scythe and gulped feeling a bit nervous. She wasn't athletic not did she get the chance to experience anything like this. Although her scythe was big, she felt it oddly light like magic.

Once she heard, 'Go' from Matthias, Rioko swings her scythe around trying to block and slice the balls at the same time. Her eyes closed as she felt the beating of one ball on her forehead, stomach, legs and finally her nose causing her to fall backwards with a bloody nose. She felt dazed from the sudden force of the ball hitting her face. "I see stars but I don't see no space I must be high. " She mumbled.

(sorry about my late response btw, been busy all evening) *Lilly was about to reply but was cut off when Matthias told them to follow him, looking to Ash she whispered* "I'll tell you later" *and began walking towards their goal with the others, smiling in amusement at the scene that played out, when they got to the gym she looked around in awe* "I dunno, being homeschooled till highschool I didn't see many gyms...atleast...none like this" *she didn't notice the countdown till a ball socked her in the gut causing her to gasp and groan in pain, quickly standing sideways to avoid further punishment and make herself a smaller target as she started to slowly rotate her scythe to get used to the weapon, slowly speeding up as she gained confidence , managing to block every third ball that whizzes towards her, trying to dodge the rest by being constantly moving, getting hit a lot in the hips and legs*
 
Freya was surprised that Alexander came over to help her, as he appeared to be snotty and arrogant up to this point. She was also equally embarrassed, and tried to maintain eye contact with the ground as tears welled up in her eyes. Despite her hurt pride, she tried desperately to process every piece of advice Alexander was giving. As he darted away, Freya stood up, taking a deep breath as the next onslaught of tennis balls approached.

This time, Freya picked 2 balls that were relatively close together and coming right at her. With a long arc of her right arm, she drew back and followed forward with a deliberate slicing motion. The 2 tennis balls cleaved in half and Freya gasped with a look of surprise on her face. "H-hey! Alexander!! I got one! I actually got two---" she couldn't finish her sentence as the rest of the tennis ball platoon slammed into her face and body, knocking her back to the ground.
 
Ash felt quite sorry for Matthias, or rather Matti as his superior called him, but it was quite a comical scene to behold. They looked like the two knew for a long time, but right now such conjecture were to be pushed aside and she was ready to confront whatever test. Firing range? Melee sparring? Obstacle course? She was born ready! And when she entered the training room she couldn't help her self from making a cocky grin. "Alright, let's see what's the worst Death inc. got for their rookies" She said very eager to start.

To her surprise the training consisted of just some tennis balls, she kinda wondered if they had to play tennis now. "Oh boy I haven't played Tennis for like what? 15 years?" She chuckled while feeling really old. She unsheated her machete, a shiny and razor sharp blade that she choose for possible practicality and, to be honest, just for the sheer awesomeness of it. She twirled it in her hand and stood ready.

The first ball was easy, a clean uppercut, the second was good too, then came the third, the fourth, the fifth and then it just snowballed from there. It felt like she had to dodge a barrage of machinegun fire, except the bullets were big as potatos and kicked more than a mule.
"The hell-Oww! You son of a-OUCH!! C'mon!! This is ridi-OWWW!!!" Balls were bouncing over her body, making her look like a boxer after a vicious beating, but she stood there and kept slicing tennis balls valiantly. She was feeling like a clueless rookie all over again and the sweet memories of boot camp came to hunt her back.
 
Dominic listened to everyone talking, chuckling to himself as it reminded him of his family- always arguing but loved eachother to pieces. Once again he felt truely sorry for the girl whom seemed ovewhelmed by everything. That was until the group met the lovely Katerina. The way she treated Matthias cracked everyone up, even Dominic. In truth, he couldn't work out whether they were romantically involved, or she just treated him like that for another reason. Dominic grit is teeth when Katerina called Matthias 'mattie-poo'. It was helarious for anyone being called names in that manner (unless it was him). As Dominic was about to lose the laughing fight, they quickly moved on allowing him time to recover from his near laughing fit.

They had moved onto the training section of the course. In more depth, how to reap souls using tennis balls. "I'm absolutely lethal when it comes to balls." He chuckled, remembering his times in PE when he had accidently hit the teachers and other students when hitting balls too quickly, missing them completely or aiming in one direction and the ball going the complete other direction. Dominic consentrated on his hand, the gladius appearing in his left. He gripped it will both hands to start with, ready to be pummeled to the ground by balls. The balls were released, consequently hitting Dominic as he completely missed. The second was released, hitting him again. A third released and to his amazement he sliced it clean in half, the halves now resting on the floor next to him. With that, he was jumping with joy, fistpumping the air a few times. "I did it, actually did it! No good in PE my ass!" That was the end of his celebrating when a forth ball came flying at it, not to his knowledge, hitting him right on one of his butt cheeks. He skidded forward slightly, now rubbing his reddened cheek, trying to sooth the pain. "Fuck! I wasn't ready!" He cried, now getting ready to continue with his Gladius.
 
Kaine smirked to himself as Mathias tried to straighten himself after the sexual harrassment from his workmate... co-reaper thing... He almost found it strange that Mathias would bring them to a school gymnasium, and not some souped up, awesome looking dojos from one of those action movies. He barely even recognised the pitching machine, and mistook it for a mounted gun. He was barely ready, when Mathias unleashed a barrage of tennis balls from the machine, like a drunk guy playing Call of Duty with a LMG. His first reaction was to pull his Glock 18 from his jacket, only to realise it wasn't there anymore.

Was all he could holler out before being hit straight in the face with a tennis ball. He let himself fall on the ground, before pulling out a katana he had acquired earlier, and leaping to his feet. He swung his blade, and a three tennis balls consecutively fell to the ground. Kaine couldn't be more proud of himself, until another hit him right in the crotch area. This time, he genuinely fell to the floor with pain, and after writhing around for a few seconds, decided to hold his katana in the air, instead of actually standing up and swinging it. To his surprise, his little 'loophole' actually worked, and half-tennis balls fell on him, slowly, but he was definitely cutting a few, even a dozen, just by doing nothing. Kaine loved loopholes, even in real-life. In fact, the last time he found a loophole he was proud of, it was the super-quick-charge Defend Spell-Super Attack combo he had used on The Collector from Infinity Blade 3...

Alora listened to Matthias as he spoke about the tennis balls. "a hundred....?" She felt confused being only to count up to twenty at the most, and sometimes that was a difficult task for her. She watched cautiously as he switched on the machine, grabbing her whip from its place on her hip. She wasn't at all really what so ever for the upcoming tennis balls that flew toward her. She began swinging the whip around in a very, random motion, and yet at first, it seemed to be working. It was more because her whip was long enough, that it was able to cut through or slice into multiple of the tennis balls as she swung in her random unplanned motions. But it didn't last very long till she was hit, maybe 3 seconds? As she got hit in her arm she slowed to an almost pause from the sudden shock of the pain. Using her other arm to rub the hurting spot she totally forgot about the other tennis balls flying toward her. "owwie...." She muttered, but only after another second or so she found herself getting hit again and again. Dropping her weapon on the hard ground beside her, she soon found herself falling on her rear end as another tennis ball popped her hard in the face. She began to softly sob holding her hands up to her hurting face, tears beginning to form in the corners of her eyes and slowly falling down her face.
 
"Kiddo!" The soldier yelled concerned when she saw Alora falling down to the barrage. She ran up to her and shielded the little girl with her body while trying to slice as many balls she could. "C'mon trooper, get yourself up and stay behind me! OWW!!" She got interrupted when a ball got her square in the eye. "Try... ACK! to get as many balls you can! Ow! You dirty bi-OUCH!!" She was probably at half of the required number of besected balls and she was clearly getting sick of this. But she had to endure the pain since those were the orders and also she was adamant to protect the little girl.
 
Alora looked up at the soldier, surprised that she was taking the hits from the balls for her. "I don't like.." She paused having the hiccups from crying "..this game..." She softly mumbled but listened to the soldier's words. She gently rubbed her now red and tear soaked eyes and nodded. Reaching over and grabbing her whip once again, Alora slowly stood up and readied herself behind the soldier, holding her whip tight in her hands. She was shaky getting started again, her body felt bruised and sore, making it a bit hard to start moving again, but she held her stance behind Ash. After a few long and nervous seconds of time, Alora relaxed a bit and was beginning to hold her weapon in a more weapon ready stance. She was beginning to be able to hit some, if not most of the tennis balls that flew past them. She was still swinging a bit slow, and randomly, but she seemed to begin to focus a bit more on where she was swinging.
 
Matthias shut off the pitching machine with a satisfied sigh. "Now, in addition to learning to properly wield your weapons, there is another, more important skill you all need to learn if you're going to survive this job. Let me show you the trick to this." He walked around the the front of the machine, aiming it directly at his face. "Now, you are all dead, so how do you feel pain? The form you're in is currently a solid manifestation of your entire soul. However, like all souls, you are able to focus your vital energy into a space about the size of one of these tennis balls, sparing only what you need to affect the world." Matthias breathed in and out slowly and deeply, his body started to shimmer and ripple. He focused on a single point in his chest. He slowly lost sensation in his extremities and pushed the pitching machine's firing button.

The ball passed directly through his face and out the back of his head, making the projection of his body warp slightly, like a poked jello mould. As the ball bounced harmlessly off the wall of the gym he turned back to his recruits. "This is your primary defense in every fight you'll go into. It's more important than anything else. Before we continue your weapons training I want you to practice this skill a few times. Clear your mind, and focus on your center, your spirit will respond and make your body less solid."

Rioko groans and grunts forcing herself up while holding her head. The silence of the ball machine was a sweet relief to her ears. She wiped her bloody nose on her jacket and stares intently in processing it all in. 'So this is pain? This is how it feels to get hit. Such an excitement." Rioko's eyes sparkle like stars at the new discovery she made. She truly felt alive here.

Her attention was drawn away once Matthias spoke to teach them about a new lesson. She was amazed at the natural concentration Mattias made and without fear a ball fazed through the back of his hand like a ghost. It was quite fascinating. She had no idea that reapers had such curious powers before. Nonetheless, Rioko was prepared to learn. She closed her eyes and concentrated with all her might. One thing she was good at was meditation. One of the things her cousin taught her so she wouldn't worry or over think as much. She was nervous though she didn't know if the ball was going to hit her even while trying but she tried anyways.

Now clearing her head, the ball managed to faze right through her body.
 
Alora took a deep breath as the Tennis balls stopped being thrown everywhere. She wrapped up her whip, placing it back in its spot on her hip, then started to lightly rub her arms and legs where the tennis balls had hit her. She didn't have to put much pressure on the areas to feel the large painful tennis ball-sized welts and bruises begin to form under her clothing. But what seemed to hurt the most was her nose and left eye, where a tennis ball had rammed itself into her face. She lightly touched her nose and around her eye. Even the slightest touch made her want to wince in pain, she held back the pain filled tears as she slowly pulled her hand away from her face. She was pretty sure that her left eye would black and blue within the next hour or so.

Alora looked over toward Matthias as he showed his demonstration, and for a moment, she was actually hoping the tennis ball would jam itself into the reaper's face. Alora turned away from the reaper, sitting on the ground holding her purple bunny in her lap as she focused on different parts of her body trying to concentrate her soul into one spot. She couldn't seem to do what Matthias had done, well, she actually could, but whenever she would get close she would hiccup and her soul would turn whole again
