As soon as the barrage ended, Ash sheated her machete and looked for Alora, checking if she's alright. "Hey trooper, are you alright?" She was deeply concerned for the little girl and the bruises on her skin were very noticeable. The soldier wasn't faring any better, she was used to be reduced to a mangled piece of meat and she usually jacked herself with enough painkillers to don't feel anything, but sadly she didn't had the pills right there with her, and she could feel the pain kicking in full force, despite her efforts to ignore it and keep it cool.
Ash watched the demonstartion of Matthias with quite some interest, she tought that a skill like that would give her an incredible edge in battle, yet she tried to wrap her mind around the concept, since she wasn't used to magic and she always has been a person of reason. She kinda wished that the ball would lodge inside her superior, as some kind of ironic punishment for the hell she and her mates had to endure a few moments ago.
She took a tennis ball and looked at it with a pensive expression. "Clear the mind and focus... Sounds difficult..." She never did meditation but she was an expert in ignoring the pain. She threw the ball against the wall, making it bounce at full speed, the soldier braced for impact yet she cleared her mind, imaginig herself being made of thin air, ethereal, disembodied, as if nothing in the world could touch and hurt her.
She felt a tingling sensation as the ball passed through her body and fell harmlessly on the floor, she did it, and at first try even! Yet she didn't felt happy, but rather very, very angry.
"Sir, I'd like to have a word with you, if I have the permission" Said Ash to Matthias with a monotone voice yet a gaze that could kill.
