Fantasy Death Inc.

Dominic tried to take this all in. All of this fairly excited him, knowing that he wouldn't just be stuck in the afterlife doing nothing. As Matthias began to explain about spirits and ghosts, a part of him lit up. Being a spiritualist, he had always believed in them, even occasionally seeing ghosts. However, now he knew that he was sane and correct above all those whom disagreed with the existance of said ghosts. Dominic however was slightly surprised about the thought of demons. He had always believed in ghosts that could be more malevolent than others, but not demons. That may have partly been due to him not believing in heaven or hell. As time went on, he looked around the room at the recruits. Most were young enough to be his brothers or sisters, except for the soldier of course. Dominic saw the young girl, immediately feeling sorry for her. She had no time to experience life, no time to even grow up to be 20. Nonetheless they were all here now, Dominic staying tuned to all that had to be said and then following them to the next room.

He found the three tailor women to be somewhat amusing. They were certainly wacky, but seemed friendly enough. As he heard Matthias explain about the uniform fashioned from their own lives, Dominic was taken back slightly. His life mostly consisted of pain, but determination on top of that. He prided himself in knowing what a good childhood felt like, with loving parents being with him each step of the way. "So the uniform can be anything we want unless its black? Right..." Dominic paused for a moment. "How does that work?" He asked, but equally waiting for one collegue to try it out.

Ash stepped aside to make room for the old lady, she glanced at the poor kid with the beaten up bunny and she felt so deeply sorry for the little girl, Alora had a kind of expression that the soldier saw way too many times in her career, expecially in some parts of Africa. She got near Matthias "Sir, with the due respect for this company, is it really ok to have kids in this operation? I know we are already dead n' all but the poor little thing barelly look like a fighter" She asked with a low enough voice to almost be a whisper.

She then gave a quick glance to the strand, wondering at the process behind this. Sure, being in the afterlife meant she could throw logic and science out of the window but she kinda wondered what kind of uniform she would get if it was based on her life. "Yeah, how does it work sir? Does it materialize on our bodies or the Fates will tailor the gear for us?" She looked at the grannies and she amusingly guessed that they were the quartermasters of the company. "Will it also be bulletproof?" She joked with a grin.

Haisley took notice that nearly everyone looked pretty interested in the Fates that stood in front of them, and that included herself, she'd always found Greek mythology to be captivating but she hadn't ever thought of it to be true. 'Although,' she rolled over in her head, 'this is the somewhat afterlife.. obviously one of the religions had to be right and the Greeks won!' she smiled at the ladies and looked over curiously at where her strand of thread might be, did her way of death effect the thread.

She felt frustrated with her abundance of questions and if she was alive her cheeks would have turned pink from it, she let out a small sigh before breathing in and out to calm herself as she watched the one Fate lady walk closer to the little girl she stood next to. What was her name again? It was something about clothes right? Moving away she took a few steps to where the older lady had stood before coming over to them and glanced over her table with curiosity, 'the situation was enough to put someone in an existential crisis,' Haisley thought 'one day we're all just long spools of thread, the next we're being cut in half by old ladies.'

Glancing back at Matthais she saw that her own thread was beside him on the stove, taking a few steps closer she adjusted her red glasses before she spoke up,"Can I try it first? Follow up question, does it all have to be black or can we mix in a different color too? Also does it come with shoes?"

Matthias realized that he might have been describing something too magical for the newbies to understand. He dug around in his own pockets until he produced his own spool, which had no thread on it. "This spool of thread is capable of transforming into any outfit with a thought, like so." He concentrated and focused on the spool on his hand. With a flash of light his black suit disappeared, leaving the pale blond man standing in nothing but a pair of skull-print boxer shorts, his thread now spooled neatly in his hand.
The second Fate piped up."Really Matthias must you do that every time you're asked that question? We're tired of seeing your boxers, now have some decency."
With a second thought and another flash of light Matthias was dressed in another outfit, the field uniform of the Collections Division, black with silver accents and a red patch on the shoulder. "The outfit will naturally be fitted to your specific measurements perfectly, and will always be in the colors of your division. The style itself is up to you. Some of the reapers who died in the 70s still wear black bell-bottomed jeans."

He then turned back to the soldier woman, once again asking all the right questions. "You'll find the spirits of children can fight just as well as your old soul, they're quick learners, and will mature faster than if they were still alive."

While Matthias explained, Clotho worked, with needle and enchanted thread in hand she moved in a blur, mending the little girl's rabbit. When she'd finished not only had the rabbit been mended like new, with matching button eyes and fresh stuffing, but she'd added a miniature "Death Inc." uniform jacket. She handed the toy back to the little girl. "Now this little bunny is as much a reaper as you are dearie." She added with a smile.

Alora eyes lighted up with curiosity as she watched the Fate work on her stuffed bunny. Her eyes trying to keep up with the quick movements of the Fate, but clearly unable to. When the Fate was done Alora nearly jumped for joy as she saw her bunny as good as new. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Alora repeated multiple times full of pure joy and glee as she spoke every word. She gladly took her Stuffed bunny back hugging it tightly and slightly moving side to side in a slight twirling motion. Alora looked at her bunny for some time playing with its ears and the new jacket it had, after a bit of time she looked up at the Fate with a big happy childish grin on her face then reached toward and gave her a hug. "Thank you." She said once more before stepping back a few steps and looking around the room then running toward Matthias holding up her bunny as if it was a trophy that needed to be showed off to the reaper. Her smile almost glued onto her face as she held up the stuffed bunny in front of her.

*Lilly looked around at everything, drinking it all in , smiling at the little girl and her bunny and felt in awe of the craftsmanship of the fates, while she did enjoy horror and science fiction the most, mythology was a good second choice. In Lilly's mind the spools of thread incredible and made sense too, she went and picked hers up, gently tossing it from hand to hand as she thought carefully of what she wanted, and ended up remembering the discworld, focusing she ended up in a fitted long black dress that flared out from around her hips with bell sleeves and a hood, silver skull clasps keeping the dress closed, a bit of embellishment from the original design but one she liked and black boots*

"I really like this idea with the threads, how did you come up with it?" *Lilly directed the question to the fates, curious on what they had to say*

Alexander smiled he was glad that he wasn't alone. Everyone seemed to he good people even the Matthias the stiff seemed to have a soft side to him. If things were as dangerous as they all said it would be, Alexander was determined to learn as much as he can so he can effectively do his job and prtect his allies. A sense of brotherhood resonated with him, everyone died one way or another but everyone now has a reason to be here.

With a respectful bow Alexander approached the fates, as much as he would have liked to let Haisely be the first to get her uniform, Alexander wanted to test it out first to see if he really understood what Matthias said. He stepped forward to aquire his spool. He looked at the thread and looked at Matthias. "I think I get what you're saying boss." With that said a smirk appeared on Alexanders face as the spool of thread wove itself into along black trench coat, with a white collared shirt and tie. Black dress pants and shoes. Too add a little flair the spool of thread was able to wove into a carnival like mask, similar to the mask Alexander would wear during his magical performances when he was alive.

The clothes touch his body for brief moments he could see flashes of unfamiliar memeories he had seemingly forgotten. It was odd to be wearing clothes woven by the threads of your fate. The threads finally stopped after weaving a pair blood red gloves. The only thing that wasnt black was his gloves and the white and black mask.

"Niiice! But does this make my butt look too big? Hahaha kidding. So boss man you're going to be training us right? Any tips and tricks before we go through your training of death?" Alexander's voice was play full but his expression under his mask was serious. Alexander was ready, while he was alive he lived already close to death, he wasn't afraid of being corrupted all he wanted was to find meaning to existence again....and it seemed that becoming a reaper was his calling.

Matthias gave Alora a congratulatory pat on the head, as if to say "that's nice, I'm happy for you." As he watched the recruits suit up in their various fashions one by one, he continued to answer Alexander's incessant questions.
"The first session of training will be an exercise to test your reflexes. It will require you to be absolutely focused and present. After that we'll go over the basics of fighting evil spirits. Then after that we'll have your first ride along for a collections mission."

Meanwhile the Fates tried to respond to Lilly's question. Clotho started.
"I believe it was fifty years ago-"
"No it was more like a thousand or so," Lachesis interrupted, "I came up with it after-"
"You didn't come up with the spools, it was me!" Atropos interjected.
The Fate quickly began squabbling amongst themselves, still managing to do their job cutting the threads of life every minute or so. Matthias piped up.
"It's best to not ask them about the past, they always get like this I'm afraid. Absolute foresight, very limited memory."

As everyone started trying on their new, but somehow old, spool outfits. Dominic found his, stepping into an open space before thinking hard about what he wanted. He had loved, and still does, history. It was clear that he wanted to put some historical meaning to his clothes. As his memories kept flooding back, even those he had forgotten, his new outfit started to appear on his body. First some black trousers, then a light grey shirt. That was then followed by a black waistcoat which complimented his body shape. There was no true victorian attire without a tire, consequently having one burgandy cravat appearing around his neck, tucked into his wastecoat. A black double brested frock coat was the final major piece of clothing to appear, as well as a pair of black boots. Dominic smiled, remembering how he always used to dress up in different time period clothes. He even used to go out in the day wearing them. A flash of memory then came into his mind. The time his grandfather gave him a silver pocket watch, still ticking and in excellent condition. As he smiled and reached into a pocket on his waistcoat, there it was. His grandfather's pocket watch, properly fastened onto his waistcoat. "Well I think i'm all set."

Smiling at the happiness that the youngest of the group got from getting her bunny fixed Haisley almost didn't notice the fact that others were starting to change their thread already, her light blue eyes widened of course at the fact and she shamed herself a bit having to repeat in her head that this wasn't a school, and there was no line of order to get into if you wanted something. Watching as Alexander took his thread with a smirk she admired the way that it created itself without much effort, she wondered if she could call this magic or if it would be considered rude to do so even though that was the impression it gave off to her, she supposed by not going first a few of her questions were answered, like how it does come with shoes and that you can add some color to the look. Tapping her index finger on her chin lightly her mind pondered on what she should wear when inspiration struck and a big grin spread on her face, her fair skinned hands took hold of the golden thread labeled as Haisley as she imagined the clothes being created around her.

She wore a sleeveless white sailor fuku that connected to a black cape much like a normal sailor shirt would, including the large grey bow in the front of it, from her elbows to her very top of her wrists were black sleeves. Her pants were replaced with black shorts that had a light and dark grey triangle pattern belt looped on them along with a chain on the side of the shorts that held the same design that held where her twin swords would go, next her black leg warmers that started right under her knees and were long enough to cover her black sneakers. At the top of her head held the thing she liked the very most, a white headband that held a large white bow on the top.

Once it finished she looked down at herself and spun around allowing her arm warmers to fly a bit till she stopped with her hands on her hips with a smile as she spoke to herself, "And to think moms said there wasn't such a thing as magic.."

Ash watched the whole process in amazement, she knew that she was in the afterlife and all but she couldn't imagine this kind of magic. She grabbed her spool and looked at it a bit dubious. She held it and tried to think whatever uniform made sense to her, she even closed her eyes for good measure.
The thread woved it self into baggy urban camouflaged pants, a black cropped t-shirt with "Death Inc." written on it, a pair of black jungle boots, two thick ballistic gloves and even a belt with pouches and a sheat for a machete. The last lenght of the strand turned into a black military cap with a shining silver emblem, A sword under two crossed scytes and a script that spelt "De Morituri Liber". It reminded her so much of the Green Berets insigna, but she tought that it made sense since she was one once.
Ash grinned and stood at attention, saluting Matthias with a slight grin "Recruit Ashley O'Donnell reporting for duty and ready for action, Sir!" She looked so eager to start training, wondering a bit what kind of enemy were the demons.

Alora smiled then looked around at the others changing into their new outfits and noticed she hadn't been paying attention to anything that was said about her getting an outfit. She looked at all the people in the room and was slowly connecting the dots in her head until she figured out what was causing them to get their new outfits. After a short moment of thinking, she walked up to the rest of the spools that sat beside the stove. Alora stared contently at them then looked back at the rest of the people in the room, seeing which ones had their spools and which ones didn't yet. "umm..." Alora looked back over at the spools and her smile began to slowly fade away as she tried to read out the names to find hers but it just caused her to feel even more saddened. Her head felt like it was twisting and turning with each letter that she saw and it was causing her to feel more and more nervous the longer she stared at the spools. She continued to look at the spools for some time, trying hard to figure out which one was hers, then sat on the ground holding her bunny in her lap. She decided she would wait till everyone else grabbed theirs, then the last one would have to be hers... right?

*Lilly sighed and rubbed the ack of her head* "I didnt mean to cause them trouble, sorry" * she looked down and saw the little girl looking sad, so she bent down to talk to her* " can't read yet? Whats your name?" *She smiled encuragingly, just wanting to help.* Angelofwishes7 Angelofwishes7

Alora quickly looked up from her rabbit, not noticing the woman till she had spoken to her. Alora slowly shook her head 'no' to the woman's question. "Alora..." her voice was soft and quiet when she spoke, almost as if she wasn't expecting anyone to help her out. She slowly stood up and looked back toward the spools again. "I-" she paused looking back at the woman for a second before bringing her eyes back to the different spools in front of her. "I never learned how to..." she gripped her rabbit tightly as she spoke, somewhat ashamed of the fact that she was unable to read.

*Lilly smiled as she peered at the spools, finding Alora's easily* "Nice to meet you Alora, I love your name, mines Lilly, I taught myself how to read, surprised my parents when they tried to teach me....if you want I can teach you, theres whole worlds inside books and it's a shame if anyone doesn't know them" *Lilly offered Alora the spool as she spoke, being slow, deliberate and calm to hopefully ease the girls nerves*

"Hey no need to feel ashamed kiddo, you're not the only one, you know?" Said Ash to Alora with a smile that could be described as maternal. She brushed her hair with a playful smile before glancing at the stuffed bunny. "Hey, nice fella you got there, does it have a name, trooper?" She asked with a soft voice. The little girl reminded her so much of the kids she met in Venezuela, and she kinda wondered if she had a life just like them, but she preferred to don't ask, since by the kind of look in her eyes she had some heavy trauma.
"By the way, I'm Ashley O'Donnell, but you can call me Ash" She said to Lilly while giving her hand for a shake "Looks like we're going to be squad mates, soldier" She said with a friendly grin.

Alora watched Lilly as she grabbed her spool. "You can teach me...?" Alora spoke softly as she repeated Lilly's words not really noticing that she said it out loud. Alora began to think of what could be so good about words, or even what a book could hold inside of it, she had never thought about teaching herself. She had never needed the ability to read till now when she was trying to find her spool. She seemed a bit confused about the reading, but she smiled shyly and slowly took the spool from Lilly's hands, looking at it carefully then looked up at Ashley as she spoke. Alora was enjoying the way Ashley was speaking, the words she was using seemed fun.

She held her bunny tightly in her arms looking down at it for a few seconds before opening her mouth to speak. "His names Cinnamon." She smiled a big childish grin. "Cinnamon Bun" She softly giggled as she said the full name of her purple bunny. She then brought her attention back to the spool looking at it for a few seconds before the thread on the spool disappeared and turned into a Short black sleeveless dress around Alora, a ribbon tieing around her upper stomach and making a bow in the back. She had black stockings and flats, and a 'Death Inc' jacket much like the one her bunny had. She smiled looking down at her outfit, even though it brought back memories of the outfits her mother use to put her in, she smiled.

*Lilly reaches over and shakes Ash's hand once Alora had her spool* "it's good to meet you, thanks for your service when you were alive, always good to meet someone experienced in new ways of life" *Lilly looked down and replied to lora* "well yeah, what do you think of a world that is completely flat, about the size of the ocean, rides on the back of four elephants who in turn ride on the back of a giant turtle? silly huh? but in books that kind of thing is possible, it even has a rainbow around the edge of the whole world!"

"Oh yeah, I was a true american hero..." Ash said with an hint of sarcasm and self-irony. "But at least the salary was good, I really hope here they pay us well too!" She said with a chuckle before turning to face Alora "And there's more kiddo, from books you can also learn about the brave men and women that shaped our country, real people mind you! And there's always something useful or at least good to learn from books, like field manuals. Those books always contain useful tricks like how to tie knots, dress wounds or how to survive in the harshest of battlefields... Well I guess you are too young for the last part." She said with a smile. The soldier then switched back to Lilly and looked a ther as if she was trying to understand what kind of person she is or was when she was alive.
"By the way, what's your story trooper? By the looks of it you were a civillian, someone in the education, perhaps?" She asked in a polite tone.

Haisley, who was still in a bit of a daze about her new outfit and everyone else's, looked back on the group of girls who looked to be getting along pretty well behind her so she took a few steps back to them paying attention to what they were saying. Placing her hands in the back pockets of her black shorts she looked in amazement at the way that they all dressed, everything seemed to match their personality especially the what looked like soldier, she was probably the oldest which made her even more of an authority.

As quick as her thoughts appeared she shook her head scolding herself ever so slightly, this place was an even playground right? No, that wouldn't make sense because Matthais is our instructor which is higher than the one who needs to be instructed, she shut her pale eyes and clapped her fair hands on her two cheeks to wake herself up from her thoughts as she continued to just listen. Her head cocked to the side as the Ashley spoke sarcastically of her title, what did that mean? It was probably a joke any, Haisley shrugged it off smiling at the thought of all the books she had read, though they were mostly music books, or biographies on famous musicians, they were always really calming and inspirational to her own works.

Alora listened to both Lilly and Ashley talk for some time, just listening to all the things a book could contain. She held her bunny close and put her empty spool in the left empty pocket of her jacket as she continued to listen. She was almost mesmerized by the thoughts that some books could contain so much information. That they could carry so many stories to be read by anyone. As Alora continued to think about what she could learn from books she became ever more and more excited to learn how to read, but for now, she happily listened to the people in front of her speak. But one thing popped out for Alora as Ashley spoke to Lilly. "People have stories too?" She paused questioning the ladies in front of her. "So..." She paused thinking. "People are like books....?"

Once he saw his recruits had suitably geared up and chatting amongst themselves he cleared his throat. "Alright then, now that social time is over, and we all have our outfits sorted out, I'll need you to follow me. We gave you those shiny new reaper's tools when you all signed your contracts, it's high time you started learning how to use them. Please follow me."

He guided the group out of the Fate's room. It was comforting in a way hearing the newbies talk amongst themselves, it could feel very lonely here very quickly without some friends. With Alora drawing out the caring instincts of everyone even the odder members of the group were getting along well. Just as they were about to turn the first corner towards the training room, a flash of platinum blonde hair and a fist appeared out of nowhere. The fist planted itself squarely in Matthias's solar plexus, knocking the wind out of him and doubling him over, leaning on his attacker's shoulders for support. The blonde hair which hung around the shoulders was connected to a young woman, maybe a few years older than Matthias, with striking eyes and a beauty mark under her right one. She gently patted Matthias's back as he tried to compose himself.

"Aw, Mattie-dearie, that's the third time this week you've fallen for that trick, you should really be more careful around blind corners." She looked over the coughing Matthias leaning on her towards the trainees behind him. "Oh my! Did you finally get your recruits together Mattie?" She smiled and waved to the new reapers as she continued to hold up the limp Matthias. "Hi there, my name's Katerina, I'm the head of recruitment here in Collections. I'll be acting as Matthias's superior while you all are still learning. I look forward to working with all of you!" Matthias hacked and wheezed incoherently.

(Meet our newest character! : https://www.rpnation.com/threads/death-inc-professional-reaper-profiles.324284/#post-7704804 )

Ash followed Matthias out of the room, while wondering what kind of training she will be put under. She was no rookie when it comes to fighting, but since now it was more of a demons and spirits business, she had no clue what kind of tactics or techniques she will need to have an edge in battle. Her trail of toughts was cutted short when she saw the sudden punch on Matthias' side, followed by what looked light a platinum lightining. "Whoa that's a nasty blow!" Said Ash while wondering the pain of the hit.
The woman before her was very young compared to her, yet she could tell she was already a veteran. Both were the exact opposite, Katerina was very lady-like and had some kind of aristocratic beauty, while the soldier was anything but feminine, wearing camo trousers and army gear instead of the fancy dress of the officier and Ash clearly looked at least a decade elder than katerine.

She stood at attention and saluted the lady, while keeping a serious and very professional expression. "Pleased to meet you, ma'am, I'm Recruit Ashley O'Donnell, former Green Beret. It will be an honor to serve this company and I will do my best to make my superiors proud" She said with a straight face while still standing perfectly straight, the only way she knew about treating with respect her officers.

Katerina shifted Matthias's weight to her other shoulder, cradling him like a rag doll. She used her free hand to salute back to the new Reaper and cracked a smile. "At ease soldier. You look like a good bunch of recruits, better than what this sad sack deserves." She tried to shake Matthias awake again, he just coughed more. Apparently she'd been a little too forceful with her love-tap, what a drama queen that Matthias. "Anyways, it'll be nice to have a little more girl power around the office. Don't give this one any slack got it?" She said patting her subordinate on the back again.

She turned her attention to the youngest member of the group, toting a stuffed purple rabbit. "Why hello there!" She unceremoniously dumped Matthias to the floor and crouched in front of Alora. "Aren't you just the sweetest little thing? After you're done training I might just have to steal you from Mattie for my own personal squad. Would you like that? Hmm?" She crooned sweetly, showering the little girl with attention.

Alexander kept his mouth shut and kept a poker face when Matthias took a blow. Deep inside Alexander was laughing his ass off he cleared his throat and took a graceful and respectful bow. "Pleasure to meet you madame. My name is Alexander can't seem to recall my last name but looking forward to be working with you. Erm Boss.... uh you okay?" Alexander forced a chuckle down his throat as he gave his superior a concern look. The lady was quite pretty but Alexander was not about to take the chance, he'd much rather fight a demon than face the scary lady. He then graciously step back to allow the rest of his compatriots to introduce themselves to the lady who had managed to subdue their supposed superior.
