"Venus." Joy repeated softly, testing out the name on his own tongue. He smiled just so, narrowing his eyes a bit. "Your hair sets fire? That sounds intriguing." Joy ended up letting a soft chuckle escape his slightly parted pale lips. "G.G.O? Sorry, I don't think I-" Joy had begun, but he cut himself off for a moment. "I don't think I know that game... is it very popular?" Joy smiled playfully and stuck out his tongue. "I'd feel so lame if it is." He said, putting a hand on his hip soon after.

Venus nodded, "Yeah, the slightest exposure to fire can make me go bald, it's horrible." He whispered, smiling as he heard the other laugh. It had a sweet sound that would make normal person crack a smile. "Yeah, it's quite popular actually. Similar to this game, but with guns instead." He explained, going into his inventory he allowed his Glock to be manifested into his small palm. "These things, I don't think I'm allowed to have them in this game though... So I stick to bow and arrow. I'll show you GGO one day." Venus offered, quickly placing the gun back into his inventory.

"The hell?!" he exclaimed. Looking around at the sky he noticed that the entire sky was already getting late but a lot of people where in the square. Why? What in the 9 hells would the game master have in store? So many questions . . . "I've no idea- umm what's your name?" asked Jake, not knowing if now was the time to ask or not.

As soon as Celina could, she said those fateful words.


"Link, start!"


She did the normal logging in and such, but she didn't have to create an avatar - instead she used the beta avatar she had created. Happily, she started the mmorpg experience in S.A.O. again. She ventured out of the Town of Beginnings and began grinding right away. Luckily, she had gone to a more secluded place to kill some monsters, so she wouldn't be disturbed by anyone. Soon, she knew she had to log off to give her friend a promised turn in the game. Celina swiped down to reach the menu and went to where the log off button should've been. But it wasn't there. "Huh?" she questioned herself.


That was when she was forcefully teleported. A forced teleport eh? Strange... never happened in beta. What a waste of my time...

Deric logged on to the game.


"Sweet" he exclaimed, viewing a beautiful world from the town of Beginnings unlike any he had otherwise played in.


The sky was clear and the clouds comparable to the likeness of reality; he knew right off the bat that this would not be an ordinary MMO. He walked through a nearby field and saw the ambiance of the grass move as the wind shifted through, creating a gentle and sensational breeze; kissing him gently across his soft cheeks; weaving through his windswept hair. If this was a normal feeling to be presented with at the start of the game, what does the rest have in store for him on this new journey.


He made his way back into the Town of Beginnings, going to the cultural district to check out what was going on with the immersion this new world had to offer. And he was not disappointed with the scene that befell his eyes.

The Music the NPC's played were music to his ears, becoming enchanted by the way the minstrels played and the maidens danced. The smell of food from the bakeries and inns brought water to the mouth at the savory smell of fresh Morsels ready to be eaten. The sounds of the rustle and bustle of cobblestones and footsteps of players and NPC's alike made the experience that more immersive. He walked up to one of the NPC Minstrels and took up the social skill of the Musician with a list of pre-made songs already installed into the game. A tooltip noted that one could learn new songs and create their own songs to play within the game, giving group or raid-wide benefits. "This is awesome, they even let you add to the world." Taking a [beginner's Pan] as his first instrument.


From there he went to the trade quarter and, using his pre-order trinket and money and experience from using his musician skill [Entertain I: Use on an NPC to earn between 1-7 copper coins] on NPC's, learned basic alchemy and blacksmithing.


"Aww man! I have got to try out the combat for this game." Heading out to the boar fields.

She hears him ask her something but when she was teleported she must of gotten separated from him. She looks around at the people that were running around confused and disoriented. She looks around her and sees a weird red dome around the town square. Something starts dripimg like blood up above and it forms a figure almost in the shape of a person. He starts speaking.


"Attention Players, I welcome you to my world my name is Akeheko Kiaba and as of this moment I am in control of this world. I'm sure most of you have already noticed an item missing from your main menus. The Log out button. Let me assure you, this is not a defect of the game. I repeat this is not a defect. This was how Sword Art Online was designed to be. You can not log yourselfs out of SAO and no one from the outside will be able to shut down or remove the nerve gear from your head. If anyone attempts to do so, a transmitter inside the nerve gear will discharge a microwave signal to your skull, destroying your brain and ending your life. Despite my warning, the families and friends of some of the players have attempted removing the nerve gear. An unfortunate decision to say the least. As a result, the game has 213 less players than when it began. They have been deleted from both Inecrad and the real world. As you can see, international media outlets have around the clock coverage of everything, including the deaths. At this point it's safe to assume the likelihood of the nerve gear being removed is minimal at best. I hope this brings you a little comfort as you try to clear the game. Its important to remember the following, there is now no way to revive someone within the game. If your HP drops to zero, your avatar will be deleted from the system forever. And the nerve gear will simultaneously destroy your brain completely. There is only one way for a player to escape now, you must clear the game. Right now you are gathered on floor one, the lowest level of Inecrad. If you can get through the dungeon and defeat the boss, you will advance to the next floor. Defeat the boss on floor 100 and you will clear the game. Last but not least, I placed a little present in the item storage of every player. Please have a look."


She opens her menu to see what was placed in there. She looks at it. It's a mirror, she thinks to herself. She clicks on it and a smal, mirror is in her hand. She looks into it confused. People around her start glowing and she starts to also. Her once black and wavy hair is replace with her normal blonde hair and her hazel eyes come back. She gets a little panicked for how do they know what she looks like? She looks in the mirror once again, she looks like herself.


He begins to speak again, "Right now you are probably thinking why. Why would Akeheko Kiaba, developer of sword art online and nerve gear, do this? Ultimately my goal was a simple one. The reason I created Sword Art Online, was to control the fate of a world of my design. As you can see, I have achieved my goal. This marks the end of the tutorial and the official launch of Sword Art Online. Players, I wish you the best of luck." He disappears and the red dome disappears with him.


She sees people start to yell and shout. All she does, is take off running.

One moment Kurt was slaughtering Boars, but now he's in a weird dome thing. Next the creator of the game appears and states that if you die in the game, you die in real life. So that explains why there isn't a log out button. Next he pulled this so called mirror from his inventory. Just a plain old mirror. A sudden flash of light interrupts his train of though. Although his avatar is base off himself, but it wasn't an exact copy, but now it was like he was in the real world. He quickly reached up with his free hand and rubbed his face, 'it's my actual face,' he thought. Whwn everything settled down Kent stood there in shock.

Jake just stood there, frozen in place while listening to everything Kiaba had said. Why? Why would he?. . .If we die here we die for real. Then is this really a game? No... "It's real. All if it" he said aloud, clenching his fists with anger. Now, it seems like it's a matter of life and death. But it isn't.


After his body was illuminated by a glowing light, Jake looked at himself in the mirror. Not much about him changed, other than his hair sitting back down on his head and his eye colour turning to it's natural colour of dark blue. He was about to run off but as he looked around he noticed a girl madly running right into him.

Celina couldn't believe what happened. The red dome formed, and an red sticky looking material oozed out of the gaps.


She had listened carefully to every word that Ahkiko Kayaba had said. She pulled out the mirror from her inventory. A mirror? What the crap? Celina thought. Then she glanced into it, noticing that it wasn't her avatar who was there, it was her, Celina from the real world. She stood in shock, examining herself to check that it really was her. Indeed it was - her wavy auburn brown hair, piercing brown eyes and all.


Once the GM left and the red dome disappeared, the Town of Beginnings was in pieces and was enveloped in chaos. But she ran. And she literally ran for her life. There was a town nearby with monsters that dropped a nice amount of EXP and give some good selling drops. She clenched onto the hilt of her sword and took the fastest route to the town. Hopefully no one would stop her, she didn't have time for distractions. But she did have time to slice everything she could on her way there.

"That sounds attractive." Joy said, giving another soft chuckle as he imagined it. "Guns, eh? That sounds fun. I look forward to it." Joy had tilted his head to the side and gave a friendly smile, his emerald eyes growing a comforting soft look as he did.


However, next thing he knew he had been teleported. He looked around himself frantically, seeing it was more people then just him who had been forced into the area. He hadn't noticed the red sky, nor the game creator, as they appeared until he heard the voice. It caused another migraine for him as he looked up. Akihiko Kiaba. For some reason the name hadn't sat on his tongue well. He felt it was the wrong label for this man. Another name popped into his head, but he shook it away. No way was that what he was going to call this man.


Seeing the new update in his inventory, Joy checked it. The item was a mirror, however, he noticed a few other items in his invetory that weren't for beginners. He knew they weren't. One was a black rabbit mask, a white smile as the expression. The game labeled the mask as '0101'. Another item was a large black cloak with torn ends, the name being 'cloak of Aki'. Then, there was a scythe called "r-Butterfly". Joy ignored these items, however, and pulled out the mirror, letting it fall into his hand gently. Other people around had begun glowing, however Joy did not. He remained the way he was while everyone else had something change about them. He looked around, wondering wildly why he hadn't changed one bit. The avatar wasn't how he really looked, surely? Joy looked again, seeing something had changed a little bit. His ears had gotten a little sharper and pointier, almost like an elf's. On his left earlobe there was a red 0 and on his right a 1, his skin had also gotten a little bit more paler. However, Joy dismissed it as the game creator began talking again.


He found himself believing the things the man said easily. He just stared up, not sure how he felt. There seemed to be a void inside of him, one that didn't let him feel his emotions properly. Inside he felt a sense of nostalgia... along with, excitement, and a tad of fear. The rest was just no feeling at all. And that was what expression showed on his pale face: none. He looked around again, just as Akihiko made his leave. Joy wanted to find the male from before- Venus. Venus was the only person he knew so far, and the blonde didn't want to feel alone in this game. Not with what he had just discovered.

This was not what he had signed up for... But he couldn't just sit back and let this madness get to him. He picked himself up and brushed off his fear and set forth to bring this game to an end. And only the courageous could do it. With sword in hand, he hummed his tune as he walked through the streets to start his journey.


As he walked he caught glimpse of a young girl with Auburn hair running as fast as she could. Instinctively, Derik ran after the girl, trying to catch up to the fast pace that she had set from sprinting. "HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY!!!!!!!"he yelled after her "WAIT UP!!!!" The girl had no interest of stopping "Oh great, I have to go faster."


He ran faster and faster and eventually caught up with the girl, taking her by the shoulders and put her face to face with him "This is not the time to panic." He said. "We need to make a plan."

She didn't want to stop. She held back every emotion she should be feeling. She heard someone call out to her but she just ignored it. She kept running. She wasn't about to team up with a group of people to watch them all die. No, she needed to be on her own for this. If she died, so be it. She just pulled up a map as she kept running. She found a road to the next town. She needed to level up, she needed to survive.

"You're crazy, I need to go. Come with me, or go away." Celina replied with a purely annoyed tone to the guy who had grabbed her by the shoulders. She pushed his hands off. "My plan is to survive this game, and that should be yours, idiot." Celina sent a glare straight at him, waiting impatiently for an answer. The music of the surroundings annoyed her to no end, being so happy and light-hearted in a death game.

@ShadyAce "You're going to the boar fields right? Or one of the mob zones close by?" He began to speak "Those spawns are going to be packed."


He gently took his arms off of the girl, obviously, making a bad first impression. "Look, My name's Derik and the best chance we got is to party up and move on to the next zone." Sure it wasn't his best proposition. "The monsters are higher leveled and give more experience. I'm an alchemist and blacksmith that can make potions, armor, and weapons from mats."


"This is no time to be prideful as we can actually die.

The air turned quiet all of a sudden.

Kent has bought a new sword that was better than the starter sword, and a small wooden shield from the loot he gained from slaughtering the Boars. He left the begging towm, and went to the Boar fields, but when he arrived it was full of other players, so he decided to go deeper. Eventually he arrived at a forest. It was full of stronger enemy's like wolves, and a stronger version of the Boar. He went on to slaughter them, but it was surely harder, and he was taking a little damage from them.

Celina pursed her lips. She didn't want to be known as a Beta Tester so much. People wouldn't like her much to begin with, and now? They'd hate her. "Look, I'm heading to a town nearby with some of the best grinding monsters on this floor." Celina then turned and continued to run, yelling behind, "Coming?"


She sprinted through the spawning area of the boars, and sliced through a couple as she ran. She really didn't have time for chit chat. Without looking behind her, Celina yelled out, "Hey, Derik, if you're there, hi, I'm Celina. Party me if you want to, but I'm not going to do anything easy." and in a split second after she finished, she twirled around, her sword spinning, and sliced through a boar with ease, collecting the drops.

Jake was about to say something but didn't due to something strikinh his mind "Was that-" he paused, trying to remember. The voice did sound alot like...Shrugging it off he ran through the town if beginnings, only bumping into a few people. The brst idea right now would be to avoid people and get as far away from the other players as possible. There was only one plan for him. Stay alive.

@ShadyAce "Hehe. Where do we begin?" He Snickered, dashing after her. He took his blade and flipped over a random boar, With a sword skill, his blade glowed green, and sliced of the head of the boar, taking experience, items and mats and continued running behind her. "Why don't ya send the bloody invite? Haha!"


As he ran, he used his ranger skills to throw a knife at two boars along the road, and ran them through with his Emerald colored blade. A Two for one bonus, giving him a throwing dagger upgrade material [Fine Young Boar Tusk +1 Agility].

She takes out her sword and continues slashing and killing boars as she went. She got through the first couple levels as she ran killing any animal she saw. She hears foot steps a little bit behind her. She turns around to see the guy a little while back but he didn't really notice her, it seemed. 'How did he catch up to her?' She thinks as she stops running and watches him for a few minutes.

She back flipped over them, and initiated a skill, which made her blade glow red, she aimed her sword at the boars, and moved her sword around, firing red blasts that killed them. She nodded with appreciation, then continued running. On the horizon, Celina noticed the town she was looking for. "There it is! Once we reach the front, we go left, and there is a nice grinding ground." she stated, just to inform the person who was following her where they were going.

She takes out her sword and continues slashing and killing boars as she went. She got through the first couple levels as she ran killing any animal she saw. She hears foot steps a little bit behind her. She turns around to see the guy a little while back but he didn't really notice her, it seemed. 'How did he catch up to her?' She thinks as she stops running and watches him for a few minutes.

Jake slasher and hacked away at the group of wolves he'd been fighting. It'd been a whole day, to think so much could happen in such littlr time. He finished off the last one with a sword skill, initializing his signature move for the skill, making his swird glow dark blue, and striking. The XP stats came up and ge got quite a bit of good winnings. Level 10 already... When he went to sheathe his sword onto his back he noticed a girl feom the corner of his eye "Can I help you?" he asked nonchalantly, walking closer.

"Um.. I don't really know, I just recognize you and I'm trying to figure out if you recognize me" she says crossing her arms over her chest and watching him walk towards her. She realizes she's going to need a better weapon. She ignores it for now. She looks at her avatar level and she realized she was a level 8. She didn't really know if that was good or bad.
